11 (DSV Nautica)Stranded - Vacuum(AU-945 Part 4)
Aki had her face in her hands. De'an strained at the controls, trying to guide the wounded ship through the wormhole successfully. The ship Shuddered, slowed, then went eerily silent. Aki felt her stomach churn, looking at the display she saw stars tumble."Why is the ship adrift?"Engines down for repair. Damn. She knew that....she was slipping a little."Let me know if anything happens...""Capt-" De'an raised protest, but Aki was already gone."Get Ka'ya...now."Ka'ya let out a groan as she was brought to the bridge. De'an put the ship in hibernate before pulling himself out of the chair, the polymers pulling away from his toned skin. His suit morphed onto him."What? You want some sex too?" The whole bridge turned to face them, looked for a few seconds, then back to their consoles. A few chuckles from around the bridge. De'an growled slightly. "I need to talk to him...Alone.Aki lay back in her bed, staring at the ceiling of the ship. The glowing conduits wavered and shifted like the surface of a blue star. It was mesmerizing to watch. She didn't know what to do. They had to go back, and get the team. They couldn't let them be captured or killed, but the draconids would destroy their ship. This was a whole new threat. A whole new galaxy. This was crazy. She felt overwhelmed.
The doors to her quarters slid open. She heard soft footsteps and a masculine presence."Zhi, i really-""I'm not Zhi."De'ans voice pierced the dark room. She sat up and glared at him."What!? What are you doing here!?""Telling you to do your job." De'an stared back, his red eyes piercing her violet ones. She felt vulnerable. "You are the captain. You don't have time to do this. Even for a moment. This is AU-945, not any other galaxy. Dammit, you are the captain and you have this ship to command. I'm bossing you around right now. You aren't doing your job very well. Get it together. I contacted New Ayr."Aki snapped to attention, "You had no-""Oh, I did captain...I have to do the job you AREN'T!"Aki proceeded to punch De'an in the face, letting out a hiss. He could have blocked it, but he took the blow, flying across the hall and clattering to the floor. Before he could get back up, Aki kicked him in the side. Protectors had responded, their rapiers drawn, energy arcs leaping to the walls. They looked confused, but Aki didn't give them time to think.
"Lock this man up."De'an chuckled. "Finally...do your job.""Wait...get your ass back to the pilots seat and stay there. Escort him and stay with him..."The protectors gave a curt nod and picked De'an off the floor, pushing him in the direction of the bridge.Aki walked back into the room, laying on the bed and closing the door. She stared
back at the ceiling, trying to decide. Was De'an right? Was she not doing her....damn it. Aki got up off the bed and made her way to the bridge. She had to make it until she got back home...She sighed as she walked onto the bridge. She got a report from Zhi. Engines were well on the way for repairs. Aki felt...threatened. What should she do? What now. Her team might be dead. Flare...dead. She wasn't sure that she could deal with it. She had to though. She knew what being a ship captain meant. This...was what it meant. She sent the command to Zhi. He had 3 hours to repair the engines. Then we were going to get the team, dead or alive. She got up and immediately pulled all nonessential personnel to help with the repairs.
Ka'ya had been lurking outside the bridge, and after Aki had gathered everyone, slid into the room, walking with a self important stride over to the captains chair. "Thank you De'an. Aki has great potential. I've been keeping an eye on her for sometime. You did good, and will be rewarded." Ka'yas voice was odd sounding. Sounded slightly ethereal.""Of course. Its a privilege to serve my Matriarch."
