196 standard years ago...The moon of New Ayr was a hive of activity all hours of the day. They had a mission. A ship to build. The shaper would spend his time standing on the catwalk over the giant pit that had been worn into the side of the terrain, guiding his underling shapers. The black frame stood almost complete. They now had to carve out living quarters and engrave the conduits. His assistant stood on a platform lower than him, simply watching. Learning. Feeling. The youth was a promising hopeful, very skilled with crafting and wanted more. His eyes were shielded by the visor, his entire body encased in his polymer suit. The thousands of workers below had similar setups, arcs of will slicing and carving the monolithic block of their will metal. It had taken 10 years to shape it into a vast cube 3 kilometers long, half a kilometer high, and almost a kilometer wide. Just a solid block of the metal. It was almost as hard as diamond and a great will conductor. This would become an Ayr'een ship.206 standard years ago...
The master shaper strode along the halls of the Alpha city. Protectors lined the halls. One false move, nad he could be killed by any number of methoods from any direction. Gave him a creepy feeling, as well as a sense of importance. He was an accomplished man, and he was trusted to walk these halls without an escort. He smiled as he ascended the dais at the end of the room, kneeling at the very top, on both knees. The Matriarch was a strong looking woman, nevermind the jeweled and script embroidered robe. The wiring that encased her aging wings looked something more like battle armor. Shards of an unknown material, glimmering all different colors, hung from each apex of her wings. She was the only thing that moved in the room. She extended her hand out, palm up, and slowly raised it up to the ceiling. He stood up slowly, keeping motion with her hand, before standing perfectly still in her presence."Master Shaper...you know why you have been brought here. You are hereby being commissioned to begin construction of a Strategic Heavy Recon Cruiser immediately. It will not me easy. But we are in need of a new ship. Do you understand.?"
A curt nod. "Yes, Matriarch.""Any questions?""One.""Speak.""What shall the ship be christened as?"The Matriarch seemed to gaze off into distant space. There was a feeling of destiny about all this. About this ship. And most certainly the one she intended to make captain."Erebus."With a curt nod, the Master Shaper left The Matriarchs presence. The Matriarch stared out at the sky, exiting out onto her private Balcony. The orbital city shone against the night sky, in geostationary orbit over the capital on New Ayr far below. The orbital city was passing through New Ayr's rings right now, the lavender aura permeating the city. Her
thoughts turned to the one known as Nee'Ak'Ee'Oh. The child had been born not long ago, and the Matriarch had a feeling that she would be destined for great things as a starship captain. She was certain of it.
