This is chapter 15 of the continuing story of Marius, Jillian, Julius, Kai and now Millicent/ Calista. In this one, a few of our friends are made a bit uncomfortable. But, it's all part of the roller coaster ride that is coming. I hope you enjoy it and, as always, thank you for reading my stories.

Hello everyone! This is part 15 of Marius and Jillian's story. Although by now, it is also becoming Julius, Kai and Jonah's story as well as Millicent/Callista's as well. Things get a little uncomfortable for a few of our friends in this one too. I hope you all enjoy this chapter and, as always, thank you for reading my stories.

Everything Changed: A Night That Changed Everything, Part 15 By Penelope Ravenheart

It had been three weeks since the dinner party that Marius and Jillian had hosted with Millicent as their guest and things had been going better than the wolfess had hoped in that time. She and Mya had had lunch together a couple more times since the day they had talked in the fabric store and the lovelorn nanny had confided many interesting tidbits to her during them. Millicent had a real talent not only for answering questions without disclosing much information but also for getting people to tell her things they might not easily tell someone else.

As well as all the extra information she had gleaned from Mya, there was something else buoying Millicent's spirits. She was late with her period. She hadn't used the pregnancy test that she had purchased at the pharmacy yet but she was fairly sure of what the result would be. The thought of giving that news to Julius and seeing his reaction made her smile as she walked up the sidewalk towards the butcher shop late that morning.

When she came out of the butcher shop with her purchases, she noticed Marius and Julius riding up the street on their horses and waved to them, smiling. As they rode up next to the sidewalk, she saw Julius smiling back at her. He looked though like he felt a bit guilty for being happy to see her. This uneasy combination pleased Millicent greatly.

"Hello, Lady Millicent. How are you today?" Julius said as he brought his horse to a stop next to the wolfess.

"Hello, Julius. I'm quite well, thank you. And how are you?" she replied.

"I'm fine. And getting better now that I have seen you," he answered.

Smiling at Julius coquettishly, Millicent said, "You're going to make me blush." Turning her smile on Marius, she said, "And, hello, Marius. How are you doing?"

"I'm well, thank you. It's nice to see you again Millicent," Marius replied.

"It's nice to see both of your," Millicent said. "I was actually hoping to run into the two of you. I wanted to invite you to come to my home for dinner two nights from now if you and Jillian and Kai are free."

"That's very nice of you, Millicent. I don't know of any plans that would prevent us from coming. Do you, Julius?" Marius said.

"No, I'm not aware of any," Julius said, shooting an exasperated look at his father. He enjoyed spending time with Millicent but he wasn't so thrilled about spending an evening with both she and Kai together at the same time again.

"Wonderful! Then it's settled. Shall we say seven o'clock then?" the wolfess said, smiling brightly at the two males.

"That sounds fine," Marius replied. "I'm sure we can make it."

"Great! I'll see you all then," Millicent said. "Right now though, I need to get my meats home and into the icebox. I'll look forward to seeing you all again."

"We'll be looking forward to it as well," Marius replied.

"Yes, thank you for your kind invitation, Lady Millicent," Julius said, smiling and feeling like a silly teenager again as he looked into her deep blue eyes.

"You're quite welcome," Millicent replied, smiling demurely and fluttering her eyelashes at Julius a bit.

The wolfess turned and stepped over to the curb where her cart was parked, putting her packages in the back before climbing into the seat and turning to smile at Marius and Julius again. "Alright then, you two have a good day and I'll see you in two days," she said.

"We'll see you then. And you have a good day too, Lady Millicent," Julius said.

As Millicent pulled away from the curb in her cart, Marius and Julius waved to her, the younger wolf smiling a goofy, infatuated smile. He felt guilty for how he felt when he was around the wolfess but he couldn't help himself. He loved Kai deeply but Millicent made him feel some deep, primal thrill that was quite irresistible.

"Well, it was nice to see Millicent but we should get moving. We do still have one more appointment this morning, son," Marius said.

Turning to his father, Julius said, "Yes, I'm ready to go, Father. And, by the way, thank you for putting me on the spot. You know it's quite awkward for me to be around both Kai and Millicent at the same time."

"We couldn't be rude," Marius said, chuckling. "Besides, everything went quite smoothly when she came over to our house for dinner. It'll be fine."

"I suppose you're right, Father," Julius said, a somewhat perturbed look on his face.

As father and son mounted their horses and headed to their next appointment, Millicent was driving her cart towards her home and thinking about her plans for the dinner she would be hosting in two nights. She wouldn't be making any big, devastating revelations but, perhaps some subtle pot stirring and knife twisting. She did intend to use her pregnancy test in the morning and, if the result was what she suspected, she would quietly ask Julius to meet her for a private conversation about that. She knew there would be ripples throughout the Cane household over that news and she would enjoy watching their effects.

That evening when Marius and Julius arrived home for dinner, Jillian and Kai were in the dining room, talking and laughing as they set the table for the evening meal. Jillian looked up, smiling as she walked over to give her husband a kiss. Kai greeted Julius with a smile as well but in their case it was the wolf that quickly made his way to the woman, sweeping her into his arms for a brief but deep kiss.

"Hello, my love," Jillian said, smiling up at Marius. "How was your day?"

"It was good, beautiful. And how was yours?" he asked, holding his wife and smiling down at her.

"It was nice. Kai and I took Marian out to the patio and spent a few hours letting her enjoy the fresh air. She was fascinated with the butterflies," Jillian replied, laughing softly.

"I wish I had seen that," Marius said, chuckling. "We saw Millicent Young in town today and she invited the four of us to her house for dinner two nights from now. We told her that sounded fine. Is that alright with you, beautiful, or did you have something planned?"

"That sounds fine to me. How about you, Kai?" Jillian said, looking across the room at her friend.

"It sounds okay to me. I had no other plans for that evening," Kai replied.

"Good then. Now that that is settled, how long until dinner? I'm starving," Marius said. The gleam in his eye told Jillian he was hungry for more than food though.

"It'll be soon," Jillian replied with a knowing smile. "You two should go get cleaned up."

"Yes, beautiful," Marius said, returning her smile and swatting her ass playfully before turning to head down the hall to the stairs.

Chuckling at his father's actions, Julius gave Kai another quick kiss before turning to go get cleaned up for dinner himself. Once the two wolves had left the room, Kai and Jillian looked at each other and broke out in giggles, realizing that both of them were likely to be getting knotted this evening.

All through dinner, the conversation was light and pleasant but the looks that passed between Marius and Jillian as well as those between Kai and Julius were seriously seductive. When the meal was over, Julius and Kai excused themselves rather quickly, using a walk in the garden as a reason. Jillian was willing to bet, smiling as she watched them go, that it would be a short walk.

After Julius and Kai left, Marius stood, taking Jillian's hand as he smiled at her. "Come, my beautiful. I think we should take a walk of our own. I have something I'd like to share with you," he said, a mischievous expression on his face.

Standing and returning his smile, Jillian replied, "Yes, my love. And I have something for you as well.

The two of them went upstairs, hand in paw, to their room, eager to be alone together. But before they got too carried away with that, they went into the nursery for a few minutes to check on their sleeping daughter, wanting to spend a few minutes with her before going back into their own room, sleep the furthest thing from their minds.

As Marius closed the door between the rooms, Jillian went to the dresser to remove her necklace and earrings and put them in her jewelry box. Just as she closed the box, Jillian felt Marius' paws on her, one grabbing her hip and pulling her back towards him while the other one lifted the hem of her skirt, pushing it up over her hips before tearing away her panties with one swipe of his paw. Gasping, Jillian smiled as she looked back over her shoulder, pushing her hips back towards him. The wolf had already removed his loincloth before coming up behind her and began to rub his huge, already hard cock over her bare, wet pussy as he grasped her other hip now, holding her in place as he marked and teased her.

Jillian moaned softly, trying to push her hips back more as she felt his cock rubbing over her swollen pussy and throbbing clit and his pre coating her. She grasped the edge of the dresser in front of her as she leaned forward more, mmming as she anticipated his hardness entering her from behind. She was grateful that the furniture was all so heavy and substantial. She had a feeling that once Marius started thrusting, she would have to hold on tightly.

The wolf murred as he watched her pushing her hips back, enjoying seeing his wife submit to him. He loved her dearly and his desire for her was extreme and seeing that she wanted him as much as he wanted her made his excitement grow. As he looked down, she opened her legs a little wider, her wet pussy swelling open more as he continued teasing her. Her scent reached his nose, eliciting growls of desire from him and causing him to grasp her hips more tightly as he positioned his pre leaking cock tip at her tight, achingly wanting pussy opening.

As he began to ease his hips forward, opening her as his thick, veined cock pushed deeper and deeper into her hot, wet depths, Jillian moaned louder, feeling a shiver of pleasure run through her body. She arched her back, grasping the edge of the dresser more tightly as the wolf began thrusting. Her pussy began clenching and releasing, seeming to suck on his huge, pulsing cock as he began to pick up speed.

Marius growled louder, leaning forward as his thrusting became faster, moving one paw from her hip to her swollen clit and rubbing it intensely. He could feel her pussy beginning to spasm, massaging his huge member and making him pant. As her excitement became more obvious, the wolf began to rub her clit more furiously, wanting to make her cum. He looked up, watching her face in the dresser mirror as she moaned and whimpered before his eyes traveled to the reflection of her full, round breasts, still imprisoned in her bra and the bodice of her low cut dress, bouncing and swaying slightly as he thrust into her harder, grinding his swelling knot against her sopping wet pussy.

As Marius rubbed her clit harder, Jillian moaned and panted, thrusting her hips back more as she felt an orgasm building quickly inside her. Moments later, her moans and whimpers turned to breathless screams as an intense wave of pleasure overtook her, making her whole body shake and her legs feel weak.

The wolf murred as he felt her pussy spasming wildly around his thick cock, enjoying her orgasm with her. He continued pumping his huge hardness into her as she came, watching her face in the mirror, her cheeks flushed and her eyes tightly closed. As his excitement grew, he slammed his throbbing cock into her harder, the urge to push until his knot went into her overwhelming.

Jillian's orgasm gradually began to subside and she opened her eyes, looking up into the mirror and watching Marius' reflection. He saw her looking at him and smiled as he pulled his thick, throbbing cock out of her, turning her around and quickly unzipping her dress, letting it fall to the floor around her feet as he unfastened and removed her bra before gently pushing her onto the bed on her hands and knees.

As the wolf positioned himself behind her and guided his angled cock tip to her wet, swollen pussy once more, Jillian looked over her shoulder, biting her lip and whimpering as she watched him push his glistening, veined cock into her again. As he grabbed her hips, pulling her back towards him, she moaned and pushed back, willingly giving herself to him.

Marius began thrusting hard, grinding his knot against her pussy as he tried to get it into her. His cock tip beat against her cervix, making it open more and more as he became more frenzied. He reached around her again, rubbing her clit as he felt her pushing back, trying to help him get his knot into her. As she felt him rubbing her clit again, another orgasm started building deep inside her and her juices flowed more. She could feel his knot beginning to slip into her and whimpered, pushing back harder. Suddenly, there was a loud, wet popping sound as his knot pushed into her, trapping her on it as her pussy tightened around it. As his knot went in, she felt his cock tip push past her cervix, leaking pre directly into her womb.

Jillian moaned and arched her back, thrusting her hips towards him as she began to cum again. As her orgasm quickly escalated, her pussy spasmed, clenching tightly around Marius' thick, pulsing wolf cock. He began thrusting harder, spurred on by her obvious pleasure. His balls swelled, slapping against her and his tongue lolled out the side of his muzzle as her orgasm pushed him closer and closer to his own.

Moments later, as Jillian's orgasm started to fade, his balls began to tighten against his body and his cock began to jolt as he filled her with his hot, thick wolf cum. Marius lifted his muzzle, howling loudly as he gripped both of her hips tightly with his huge paws, his claw tips pressing into her flesh and just breaking the skin. Jillian moaned, pushing her hips back, enjoying the feeling of his hot cum filling her womb.

Gradually, the wolf began to calm from his orgasm, panting as he carefully rolled onto his side, pulling Jillian with him and enfolding her in his arms. She snuggled back against him, her own breathing slowly returning to normal as they lay there, still tied together by his knot. She mmmed as she lay back against him, closing her eyes and smiling as they remained so close, sharing the afterglow of their lovemaking as they waited for his knot to diminish.

In the morning, as Jillian and Kai were sending their wolves off for the day's business, Millicent, a.k.a. Calista, was heading into her bathroom to use the pregnancy test she had purchased. She stood there, in human form, smiling at herself in the mirror as she got out the package and set the vials and eye dropper out on the counter. She took the small cup from the box, sitting on the commode and holding it under herself as she began to release her bladder.

When she had finished, she took the eye dropper and used it to put the appropriate number of drops of both the test fluid and her urine into the empty vial that had been in the package, carefully following the instructions that the pharmacist had included. She would have to wait for a few minutes to see the results and knew those minutes would seem like hours so, rather than sit there going crazy with anticipation, she went back into her bedroom and started looking through her closet, not only for what she would wear that day but also for what she would wear for the next evening's dinner party.

By the time she had settled on dresses for both, enough time had elapsed for her to go look to see what the result of her test was. She was hoping the liquid in the vial would be pink, the color of a positive result, as she crossed the room and entered the bathroom. As she walked over to the counter, she held her breath in anticipation.

Picking up the small glass tube and holding it at eye level, she was met with the sight of a vial full of bright pink liquid. Grinning, she set the vial back down on the counter and stared at it. This was exactly what she had been hoping for. Now she could begin to put the rest of her plans in motion, upsetting the lives of everyone in the Cane household, most especially Julius.

That whole day, life went on as usual at the Cane house. Jillian spent the day mostly with Marian, enjoying being with the pup. Kai had a nice, long lunch with Jonah and later, had dinner and spent the evening with him. When Marius and Julius came home, the older wolf spent the evening with his wife and daughter after dinner and the younger spent the evening with a good book. Everything seemed perfectly fine. No one had any idea of the rough weather, so to speak, that was to come. This was the proverbial calm before the storm.

The next morning, Jillian sent Marius off for the day's business with a reminder that they were expected at Millicent Young's home for dinner that evening. He assured her that he and Julius would be home in plenty of time to get ready and go to the wolfess' home for dinner. He kissed her deeply, swatting her playfully on the ass before heading out for the day.

After Marius and Julius left, Jillian went into the nursery to see Marian. Mya was there, about to feed the pup when she came in. "Oh, please, let me, Mya," Jillian said.

Smiling, Mya said, "Alright, dear. If you want to."

"Oh, you know I love taking care of her," Jillian said, smiling. "Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate all your help and the help of the other ladies but, I love taking care of her too."

"Of course, dear," Mya replied, returning Jillian's smile.

As Jillian fed Marian she chatted with Mya who was sitting in the chair next to hers, sewing. Jillian noticed that something seemed to be bothering Mya. The nanny was smiling as they chatted but she seemed to be preoccupied with something. She was about to ask her about it when there was a knock at the door. Mya set down her sewing and went to answer it. One of the other women was standing there when she opened the door and the two of them spoke in hushed tones for a few moments.

Turning back to Jillian, Mya said, "One of the ladies needs my help with something. I'll be back shortly in case you need me for anything."

"Oh, is everything okay?" Jillian asked.

"Yes, just a minor clothing emergency," Mya said, smiling.

Jillian laughed a little at that. "Go ahead, we'll be fine," she said.

Jillian continued feeding Marian, smiling down at the pup as she suckled on her bottle. She enjoyed these quiet times alone with her little girl. Marian seemed to enjoy them too. The pup's eyes danced as she drank the formula from her bottle, her tail wagging as she looked up at Jillian.

After she had finished feeding and burping Marian, Jillian changed the pup's diaper and took her downstairs, stopping at the library for a book before going out onto the patio to read and let her daughter enjoy the beautiful morning. With all the flowers, birds, butterflies and small animals, the garden was teeming with wonders for the little wolfess to be fascinated with and entertained by.

Mother and daughter spent most of the morning on the patio together before Mya came out to check on them. Smiling, she crossed the flagstones to where Marian sat in her little swing watching intently as two squirrels frolicked in the grass a few yards away. The pup whimpered excitedly as she watched the two little animals chase each other around playfully. Both Jillian and Mya smiled, noticing the intense interest and excitement on Marian's face.

"How are you two doing?" Mya asked as she sat in the chair on the other side of the table from Jillian's.

"We're fine. It's a beautiful day and Marian has been enjoying herself. She's so alert and curious. I can tell she'll be a handful when she starts crawling and walking," Jillian said, laughing a little.

"From what I've heard, Julius was quite a handful as a pup so, I'm sure she will be too," Mya said, laughing herself.

"I hope we can handle it as the family grows. It could be chaos around here," Jillian said, giggling.

"Oh, I'm sure we'll manage just fine," Mya said, smiling. "But right now I think I should take Marian in for a bottle and a nap and let you go have some lunch before you have to start getting ready to go to Millicent's house this evening."

"I had lost track of time. I didn't realize it was that late already. I suppose it is time for Marian to have a bottle and a nap. She's had a lot of excitement out here this morning. And I will need to start getting ready shortly after lunch so that Marius can have the bathroom to get ready when he gets home," Jillian said.

Mya stood, walking over to the little swing that the pup was sitting in and picking her up. "Okay, lunchtime, little one," she said.

"I'll see you both after lunch," Jillian said, closing her book and standing herself.

As Mya took Marian upstairs, Jillian took her book back to the library and then went to the dining room for lunch. Kai was already there and the two of them sat chatting as two of the serving girls brought lunch in from the kitchen. Once they were alone in the dining room again, Jillian decided to ask Kai if she had noticed that something seemed to be bothering Mya lately. She wanted to make sure it wasn't just her imagination before she asked Mya herself.

"I was wondering if Mya seemed okay to you," Jillian said. "She has seemed to me like something has been bothering her lately."

"I had noticed that too. I was going to ask you if you had any idea what might be wrong," Kai said.

"No, I was about to ask her this morning but one of the other ladies came needing her help with something before I could," Jillian said.

"I hope it's nothing serious. But at least she has been taking a little time for herself lately," Kai said.

"Yes, I'm glad she's letting herself have a little more of a break lately," Jillian replied.

Jillian decided she would have to make sure to ask Mya what was wrong. She hated to think that someone close to her was having trouble, especially if there might be something she could do to help. She knew very little about Mya and hoped it was nothing serious like an illness in her family. She may not know a lot about her but, Jillian had come to feel close to her, and even closer to Kai, so she was concerned when something seemed to be bothering one of them.

After lunch, Kai and Jillian went off separately to get ready for their evening at Millicent Young's home. Kai wasn't really thrilled to be spending the evening with the wolfess but she was quite curious to learn as much as she could about her. She didn't care for Millicent, didn't trust her and certainly didn't like the idea of Julius being around her but, the more she knew about her, the better.

When Jillian had finished bathing, dressing and doing her hair and makeup, she went into the nursery, wanting to spend some more time with Marian as well as hoping to have some time for a private chat with Mya. If there truly was something wrong in Mya's life, she wanted to try to help her.

Jillian entered the room, smiling over at Mya, who was sitting and busily sewing, before walking over and peeking into the crib to see if Marian was awake. The pup was still sound asleep, her little paws twitching slightly and her breathing deep and even. She pulled the blanket carefully up over her daughter more, smiling as she watched her for a few more moments.

Turning and walking across the room, Jillian sat in the chair next to the one Mya was sitting in, smiling over at the other woman. "Well, Marian is sound asleep," she said quietly. "And how are you doing, Mya?"

"Me? I'm fine," Mya replied, smiling as she glanced up from her sewing.

"Are you sure? You've seemed like something is bothering you lately. If something's wrong, I'd like to help, if I can," Jillian said, real concern in her voice.

"Nothing's wrong," Mya said, not looking up this time. "What would make you think anything was wrong?"

"I don't know. You just seem a little down lately. Is your family alright? No sick relatives?" Jillian asked.

"No, nothing's wrong," Mya said, smiling and trying to sound reassuring. "If anything I may just be a little tired or hormonal lately. Nothing more serious than that."

"You know, if anything is wrong, you can talk to me. I am here for you," Jillian said, putting her hand on Mya's arm.

"I'm fine, really, dear," Mya said, smiling over at her and thinking to herself that Jillian was the last person she could confide in about what had been on her mind lately. She was surprised to hear that it showed that she was bothered by anything. She thought she had covered it better than that.

"Well, if you ever need to talk about anything, I am a good listener," Jillian said, sitting back in her chair a bit.

"I appreciate that, dear. And I'll keep it in mind in case something does come up," Mya said, smiling sweetly over at Jillian.

Smiling back at her, Jillian said, "I hope so. Well, I guess I should go see if Kai is ready. Marius and Julius will be home soon and once they are ready, it's off to Millicent Young's house for dinner."

"Have fun and say hello to Millicent for me," Mya said as Jillian stood up.

"I will. And, I'm glad you two have become friends," Jillian said as she headed towards the door, stopping once more to peek into the crib at her sleeping daughter on the way.

As she headed down the hall towards Kai's room, Jillian hoped that Mya really was alright and not holding back. She would hate to think of her suffering in silence. But, until and unless Mya wanted to talk about it, there was nothing she could do except let the other woman know she was there for her.

Kai was almost ready when Jillian got to her room. She was just having a little trouble getting her hair to cooperate with her. Jillian sat Kai down, setting to work on her hair as the two of them chatted about their day and the evening ahead of them. Kai was a little uncomfortable with the idea of spending the entire evening at Millicent's home and made Jillian promise to try to leave as soon as it was polite to do so.

"I wouldn't even go except that I hate the idea of her having Julius to herself all evening," Kai said.

"I think she's gotten the message that you and Julius are an item. Marius said she had mentioned you by name when she invited us all for dinner," Jillian said as she styled Kai's hair. "But I know how you feel. I wouldn't want to let her have the opportunity either if it was me."

"Oh, I'm sure she would do her best to take advantage of the opportunity too, if I didn't go," Kai said. "I'm sticking so close to him tonight though that she won't have a chance."

"And you'll look awesome doing it, too," Jillian said, giggling.

The two of them laughed and talked as Jillian finished doing Kai's hair. When she had finished, they went downstairs. Just as they reached the first floor, Marius and Julius came in from their day of appointments, both father and son smiling appreciatively as they saw the two women. Jillian and Kai walked into the foyer to greet the wolves with smiles and kisses.

After exchanging hellos and kisses, Marius and Julius hurried upstairs to get ready to go to dinner at Millicent's house, ushered up the steps by the women, who went into the large sitting room at the back of the house to sit and talk as they waited for the wolves to bathe and dress. It wasn't a long wait and soon, the two males came down to join them in the sitting room, both looking suitably elegant for the evening.

"Oh, my," Jillian said, smiling appreciatively at Marius. "You're looking extremely handsome tonight, my love."

"I'm glad you approve, beautiful. And you look amazing yourself," he replied.

"You both look amazing," Julius said as he walked over to Kai, taking her hand and kissing it gently.

Giggling, Kai replied, "Why, thank you, kind sir." She smiled as her eyes traveled over him, finally coming back up to meet his eyes.

"You're quite welcome, dear one," Julius replied, returning her smile.

Chuckling as he watched his son and Kai, Marius said, "Well, if everyone is ready, shall we go?"

"Yes, I think we should. We don't want to be late," Jillian said as she took Marius' arm, smiling up at him.

"It's not that far. We should make it in plenty of time," Julius said.

Kai shot a glance at Julius as he said this, feeling a twinge of jealousy as she wondered how many times he might have gone to Millicent's house. She kept a pleasant smile on her face as she took his arm though, allowing him to lead her out of the room as the four of them headed for the front door and the carriage waiting beyond in front of the house.

There were two guards waiting out in front, one of whom opened the door of the carriage, holding it for them as Marius and Julius helped Jillian and Kai into it before climbing in themselves. The four of them settled into the seats, chatting about their day as the carriage pulled away from the house, heading for Millicent Young's home.

It wasn't a terribly long drive and, true to Julius' prediction, they reached Millicent's house in plenty of time for dinner, arriving shortly before seven. When the carriage came to a stop, one of the guards came around, opening the door for them. Marius and Julius climbed out first, helping Jillian and Kai out after them. They walked towards the front door, Marius had his arm around Jillian and Julius and Kai were arm in arm.

When they reached the front door and Marius knocked on it, they waited, enjoying the warm evening air and the sound of crickets chirping in the grass. It was only a few moments before Millicent answered the door, smiling brightly as she saw her guests standing there.

"Hello! Welcome to my home! Please, come in," Millicent said, opening the door wide, stepping back and gesturing for them to come in.

"Thank you," Jillian said, smiling back at the wolfess as she walked through the door, followed by Marius. "This is a lovely place you have here."

"Oh, thank you," Millicent replied. "It's not big and fancy but it is home and it feels cozy."

"It seems to suit you," Marius said, smiling at her as he entered the house. "And how are you this evening, Millicent?"

"I'm well. How are you all doing?" the wolfess responded.

"We all seem to be doing well also, Lady Millicent," Julius said, smiling as he and Kai entered the house.

"I'm glad to hear it. And it's good to see you all," Millicent said as she closed the door behind them. "Please come in and sit down. I'll be right back with refreshments for us."

With that, the four of them went into the living room, Marius and Jillian sitting together on the sofa and Kai and Julius sitting on the matching loveseat as the wolfess headed for the kitchen. A few moments later, Millicent came back in carrying a tray containing drinks for all of them and a platter of assorted hors d'oeuvres. She held the tray out to each of her guests, letting them take drinks and appetizers before setting it down in the center of the coffee table and doing the same herself.

The wolfess sat in one of the two large, comfortable chairs facing the sofa, smiling at the foursome as she said, "Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. In the meantime, please help yourself to the appetizers."

"I hope you didn't fuss too much," Jillian said, sipping her drink.

"Oh, don't worry about that. I love to cook and I have been looking forward to this evening," Millicent replied.

"Well, if you need any help in the kitchen, don't be afraid to ask," Jillian said. "I'm more than happy to help."

"Yes, me too," Kai said, smiling pleasantly.

"Oh, thank you. But everything is pretty much ready. I'm just waiting for the roast to come out of the oven," Millicent said.

"Well, everything smells delicious already," Marius said.

"Yes, it does," Jillian agreed. "Cooking and sewing ...You're a wolfess of many talents."

"Oh, thank you. But wait until you've tasted my cooking before saying it is one of my talents," Millicent said, laughing. The rest of them laughed at this as well.

"Well, if the appetizers are any indicator, I would say it is," Jillian replied. "Oh, and speaking of sewing, Mya wanted me to be sure to say hello for her."

"Oh, please tell her hello from me also. I hope she is well since the other day when we had lunch together," Millicent said.

"Yes, she's fine," Jillian replied. "I'm glad the two of you have hit it off. I'm always telling her she needs to take more time to enjoy herself. Spending time with a new friend is a great way for her to do just that."

"It's wonderful for me to meet someone that shares so many of the same interests," Millicent said, smiling. "And she is such a sweet person."

"Yes, and a wonderful and caring nanny to Marian," Marius said.

"Yes, I know she adores your little girl," Millicent said, shifting her gaze to Marius. "And, she tells me that she went to school with you and your first wife. It must be comforting to know that someone you have known that long is taking care of your pup."

"Yes, it is. She's been just wonderful with Marian," Marius replied.

"I didn't realize you had gone to school with Mya, my love," Jillian said, the smile still on her face but her eyebrows raising a bit.

"Yes, she was a couple of years behind Elizabeth and I but, we were all school mates. I thought I had told you, beautiful," Marius replied, looking slightly uncomfortable.

"No, you hadn't," Jillian said. Turning to Millicent, she said, "But she has been such a huge help in so many ways."

"I'm sure she has. It must have been wonderful to have her, well, and Kai too, to help you adjust after you came to this world," Millicent said, smiling sweetly at Jillian.

"Yes, and they've both become very good friends," Jillian replied, smiling over at Kai before turning back to Millicent.

"Yes, I can see what good friends they are. And that's really remarkable considering how suddenly their roles in the household changed. Well, theirs and all the other ladies' too. It just shows what good people you have in your house," Millicent said.

Still smiling but feeling a bit uncomfortable after Millicent's last statement, Jillian said, "Yes, we do."

"And what about you, Millicent? Have you been making more friends here?" Marius asked. "I've made a few beginnings, I think," the wolfess replied. "But the four of you and Mya seem to be the only friendships I have developed yet."

"Well, give it a little time. The people here are good people. They'll warm up to you soon," Marius said, smiling.

"Yes, I'm sure it will just take a little time. And speaking of warming up, I had better check on that roast. Please excuse me a moment. I'll be right back," Millicent said as she stood up.

As the wolfess stood to go to the kitchen, Marius and Julius stood too. As they sat back down, Jillian gave Marius a look that told him she would have some questions for him later. At the same time, Julius was giving both his father and Kai a similar look. The things Millicent had said about Kai's and Mya's roles changing had left him a little confused.

A few moments later, Millicent emerged from the kitchen with a large ceramic baking dish in her oven-mitted paws, smiling as she set it in the center of the large dining room table. She stepped around the table, taking off the oven mitts as she walked through the large archway connecting the living room and dining room.

"Dinner is ready if you would all like to come in and have a seat at the table," she said brightly.

"Do you need any help with anything?" Jillian asked as the four of them stood up and made their way into the dining room.

"No, it's fine. Just make yourselves comfortable and I'll bring the rest in from the kitchen," Millicent said, smiling at her guests.

Marius and Jillian entered the room, sitting on one side of the table and Julius and Kai on the other side. After holding Kai's and Jillian's chairs for them, Marius and Julius sat down themselves. The table was set beautifully with fine china and silverware that had ornate patterns on the handles. The tablecloth was a pale blue linen with a delicate ivory lace at the edge. The wolfess had set a lovely and elegant table, Jillian thought to herself.

A few moments later, Millicent came in from the kitchen carrying a large tray with salads, bread, wine and several side dishes on it. Everything looked and smelled delicious. She set the tray on the sideboard next to the table, transferring the bread, wine and side dishes to the center of the table and putting a salad in front of each of her guests as well as one at her place at the table.

Before sitting down, Millicent poured wine for everyone and then for herself. "Please, help yourselves," she said, settling into her chair. "I hope you all like the things I've prepared."

"Everything looks and smells delicious, Lady Millicent," Julius said, smiling over at her.

"Here's hoping it all makes your taste buds as happy as it has made your eyes and nose," Millicent said, lifting her wine glass and smiling slyly at Julius.

Kai noticed the look Millicent gave Julius and didn't like it but she kept a pleasant smile on her face as she sipped her wine. For his part, Julius was blushing under his fur as he averted his gaze from the wolfess. He couldn't help but think about how her scent and taste had driven him so wild the day he had come to help her with the wheel on her cart and had ended up in her bed. As he thought about that, images from their tryst that day flashed through his mind, causing him to shift a bit in his chair.

The five of them began passing their plates around, Millicent carving and dishing up the roast for each of them before handing their plates back to them to fill with all the other delicious smelling foods on the table. Once they had all filled their plates and began eating, They all remarked on how wonderful the food all tasted.

As they ate, their conversation continued, Millicent deftly avoiding disclosing too much about herself while at the same time peppering the conversation with little comments intended to stir things up for her guests later. She was careful not to offend with anything she said or make any of them angry with Mya for talking about the goings on of the Cane household. After all, she didn't want to make life difficult for her new friend. She was actually hoping her plans would do some good for the lovelorn nanny.

When the meal had come to an end, Jillian and Kai helped Millicent carry the dishes to the kitchen, even though she said it wasn't necessary. After the dishes had been brought to the kitchen, she sent them on out to join Marius and Julius, who had retreated to the living room, while she got the coffee. A couple of moments after they had gone to join the males, the door between the kitchen and dining room swung open and Julius stepped into the kitchen holding the ceramic baking dish containing the leftover roast.

"I thought you might want to get this in the ice box right away," he said, smiling a bit nervously.

"Oh, yes. Thank you so much Julius," she said, smiling back at him coquettishly. "And, I'm glad you did come in with the roast. I have been wanting to ask you if you could come by tomorrow at some point. I need to talk to you about something privately. I didn't want to say anything in front of Kai."

"Of course, if it's important, I can come by on my way home from our appointments tomorrow," Julius said.

"That would be fine, thank you, Julius. And it is quite important," Millicent replied.

"Is everything alright? Nothing bad has happened, has it?" Julius asked, concern obvious on his face.

"Nothing bad has happened, Julius. Stop looking so worried. But it is important. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow when we have time to talk privately," the wolfess said soothingly.

Nodding, Julius said, "Okay then, I will come by tomorrow afternoon."

"Thank you. Now, you had better get back out there and keep Kai company," Millicent said, smiling sweetly. "I'll be out in a moment with the coffee."

Nodding again, Julius turned and headed for the door between the kitchen and dining room, stopping and turning to look at the wolfess briefly with a questioning look on his face before going back to join the others. Millicent smiled to herself as Julius left the room. She was willing to bet he would be here as early the next day as he possibly could be. And she was very much looking forward to ending his suspense for him.

As Millicent went out through the dining room and into the living room carrying a tray containing the pot of coffee, cups and cream and sugar, she smiled brightly, buoyed by her anticipation of her conversation with Julius the next day. She set the tray on the coffee table, pouring a cup of coffee and handing it to each of her guests and then pouring one for herself. As she sat back in her chair with her coffee, Millicent smiled warmly at her guests. She was especially enjoying the quizzical expression on Julius' face.

"That was an excellent meal, Millicent. You're a wonderful cook," Jillian said as she sat back with her own coffee, smiling back at the wolfess.

"Thank you. I love to cook. It's just rare that I get to do it for anyone besides myself," Millicent replied. "Since I left Corithia, this is only the second time I have had anyone else over for a meal. The first was when Julius came over to help with my loose wheel and I asked him to stay for lunch. And that was only warmed up leftovers."

"It may have been leftovers but it was a delicious lunch, in any case," Julius said, smiling sheepishly.

"You're too kind," Millicent said, fluttering her eyelashes just a bit as she looked at him over the rim of her coffee cup.

Julius shifted uncomfortably in his seat, feeling himself blushing under his fur again. All of this was not lost on Kai who bristled a bit as she sipped her coffee. Millicent noticed this and felt very satisfied indeed. Her comments had struck the desired chords.

"Well, maybe you should think about opening a restaurant instead of a sewing and dress shop," Marius suggested.

"I don't know if I would want to do that much cooking everyday. But it is something to think about," the wolfess replied.

"Well, whatever you decide to do, I'm sure you'll be very successful at it," Jillian said. "And you have a variety of skills."

"And when I'm ready to open a business, I know someone in real estate," Millicent said, smiling and laughing a little.

"That you do," Marius agreed, chuckling as he sipped his coffee.

The five of them made conversation for a while, drinking their coffee as they digested the tasty meal they had just eaten. Once again, Millicent displayed her skill at answering questions without actually revealing much and Jillian began to think that if the dress shop or restaurant didn't get off the ground, the wolfess could go into politics and do quite well.

"Well, this evening has been wonderful, both the company and the meal, but I think we should be heading home. Julius and I have some early appointments tomorrow and I'm sure you would like some time to relax," Marius said, setting his empty coffee cup on the coffee table.

"Thank you so much for having us. It has been a lovely evening and a wonderful dinner," Jillian added as she and her husband stood.

"Thank you all so much for coming. It was good to have friends in the house. It makes the place feel more like a home," Millicent said, setting her cup down and standing herself.

"And it is a lovely home," Kai said as she and Julius also stood to go.

"Thank you. It feels warmer and cozier now too. I hope you can all come back again soon," Millicent replied, smiling first at Kai, then at Julius before shifting her gaze back to Marius and Jillian.

Millicent saw them to the door, saying goodnight to all of them as they left, Marius and Jillian first, Kai behind them and Julius bringing up the rear. As the rest of them walked ahead a few steps, Julius stopped briefly, saying a few words to the wolfess before turning and catching up with the rest of the group. Kai couldn't hear what he had said to her and it was only a few quick words but it still made her uncomfortable. She had a bad feeling that Millicent was going to cause trouble for them all.

Smiling and chuckling softly to herself, Millicent waved to the foursome as she watched them climb into the carriage and begin to drive off. She thought they would have an interesting night ahead of them, fraught with questions and insecurities. And tomorrow she would get to give Julius the news that she was carrying his pup. She couldn't wait to see the look on his face. It was nothing compared to the big bomb she would be dropping on them later but, it would still be delicious to watch him squirm and sweat.

As Marius, Jillian, Kai and Julius rode home, they only talked a little, all of them seeming to be deep in thought. Much had come up in conversation this evening that was unsettling to each of them in some way. When they arrived home, they said their goodnights to each other, Marius and Jillian heading off to their room, the wolf with his arm around his wife as they went up the stairs together.

Julius walked Kai to her room, wanting to stay and talk to her and even make love to her but not sure if she wanted him to come in tonight. She had been so quiet on the ride home. He had so many questions for her and he was sure she had at least a few for him as well. When they reached her door, Julius turned Kai towards him, kissing her deeply as he held her close.

"Sleep well, my dear one," he said, breaking the kiss.

"Don't you want to come in tonight, Julius?" Kai asked, a disappointed expression on her face as she looked up at him.

"Very much, dearest Lady Kai. I wasn't sure if you wanted me to come in tonight though. You've been so quiet since we left Lady Millicent's house. I didn't want to presume," Julius replied.

"I want you to come in," she replied, smiling. "I want to spend some time alone with you."

Returning her smile, Julius nodded, saying, "I'd like that very much too, dear one."

Kai smiled up at him more, taking his paw as she turned to open her door. She led him inside, closing the door before taking him over to the sofa. She sat and motioned for him to join her. As Julius sat down next to her, looking into her big blue eyes, his heart melted all over again. He loved her deeply and hoped she would never know about his indiscretion with Millicent.

Kai took Julius' paw in both hands, leaning in to kiss him softly. She wanted very badly to ask him about his lunch at Millicent's house but she didn't want to appear to be a jealous shrew. She could tell he had something on his mind too and was even more curious about what that might be. When their kiss ended, she snuggled against him on the sofa, laying her head on his shoulder.

"I can tell something's on your mind, Julius. What's bothering you, my sweet wolf?" she asked softly.

"You know me so well, dear one," he replied. "I've just been rather confused about some things Lady Millicent said this evening."

"What things are those, my sweet?" Kai asked, fearing his answer and the questions he would have afterward.

"She talked about yours and Mya's roles in the household changing. Yours and all the other ladies in the house, she said," Julius said questioningly. "What did she mean by that? And why would Jillian's arrival make all your roles in the household change so much?"

There it was, the question she had been dreading. Taking a deep breath, Kai replied, "I hadn't known how to talk to you about this so, I just never brought it up. Mya and I and many of the other ladies in the house are former pets of your father. Mya was the first one. She came to live here a year or so after your mother died. The rest of us came here over the next several years. Your father has been very good to us all. He has treated us all very well. But he hasn't had any of us come to him since he had Jillian brought here. He fell in love with her so our roles changed and we have mainly been here to help her, and now Marian too."

"You were his pets? He had you all brought here as his sexual playthings?" Julius asked incredulously.

"It wasn't quite like it sounds," Kai said, still holding his paws and looking into his eyes. "Your father was lonely but he was so devastated by your mother's death that he couldn't even think about looking for someone to love. He brought us here one by one over the years and yes, we satisfied his sexual desires but, we also became like a family and offered him understanding and support and helped him heal so he was ready for love again when he found Jillian."

"You said he had Jillian brought here. She didn't come here on her own?" Julius asked.

"No, she didn't know this world existed until your father had some of the guards go and bring her here. He had seen her when he had ventured into her world and had become quite taken with her," Kai replied.

"He had he abducted? Brought here against her will?" Julius asked.

"It's not like that. He had fallen in love with her. And she came to love him too after a little while. Your father is a good wolf. Please don't think badly of him... or of me because of any of this," Kai said, tears welling up in her eyes.

Nodding, Julius said, "Yes, I know my father is a good wolf, he was just raised to believe a lot of things I don't believe in. But he does live according to his beliefs and that is something not everyone can say. And as far as thinking badly of you, dearest one, I could never do that. You are a wonderful, sweet and kind woman and I love you very much. And it seems that something has also been bothering you this evening. Can you tell me what it is, dear one?"

"It seems rather silly to me now,"Kai said, looking down at her hands in his huge paws, the tears that had welled up in hr eyes spilling over her cheeks. "I was just wondering about your lunch at Millicent Young's house and why you hadn't mentioned it before."

Hoping he didn't look as guilty as he felt, Julius reached up, wiping her tears away with one huge paw before gently holding her face and tilting it up towards his. "I had met Lady Millicent in town and noticed she had a loose wheel on her cart. Since the livery stable was closed that day, I followed her home, where she had some tools, and tightened it up for her. To thank me, she invited me to stay for lunch. That's all," Julius said, omitting the after lunch activities.

"I didn't mean to sound jealous and posessive. I just worried that, as a wolfess, she could offer you something I couldn't," Kai said, trying to smile a bit.

Chuckling a little, Julius said, "There's nothing she could offer me that would make me choose her over you. And there's one thing that only you can offer me... your heart."

With that, he leaned forward, kissing Kai deeply and pulling her into his arms. She pressed against him, mmming into the kiss as her arms slipped around his neck, her fingers diving into the silky fur at the back of his neck. The two of them spent the next few hours engaged in long, slow lovemaking. It was quite late that night before Julius left Kai's room and went to his own to sleep.

While Julius and Kai made love, Marius and Jillian had a conversation about Mya and how he had neglected to tell her he had known their nanny, and his former pet, since their school days. Marius did his best to allay her concerns and, before too long, the two of them were also spending the late hours of the evening making love before falling asleep in each other's arms.

In the morning, after a big breakfast on the terrace, Jillian sent Marius off for another day of tending to business with a kiss before she went into the nursery, planning to spend her day with Marian. She changed and dressed the pup before taking her downstairs for a walk in the garden, pushing her pram down the winding paths before returning to the patio, putting her daughter into her swing and settling into a chair with a book.

Kai came out, spending the morning with Jillian and Marian before going off for a long lunch with Jonah. The whole household seemed fine and was humming along normally. No one had any idea of the turmoil a certain female was about to stir up. It was just another pleasant day.

Late that afternoon, after their last appointment, Julius told Marius he had something to take care of and headed off for Millicent's house. As he rode towards her home, the sun shining brightly as it sank lower in the sky, he wondered what it could be that she wanted to talk privately with him about. He had managed not to spend any time alone with her since the day he had had lunch at her house after fixing the loose wheel on her cart. They had flirted heavily whenever they had seen each other since that day but, he had headed off the temptation for anything more than that by not being alone with her since that day. The guilt he felt over ending up in her bed that afternoon had been terrible and he hadn't wanted to go through more of that.

As he neared her house, thoughts of what she might want to talk to him about raced through his head. He only hoped that, regardless of what it was she wanted to discuss, that the two of them wouldn't get carried away with desire again, ending up in her bed as they had before. He hated lying to Kai over that but the thought of hurting her as deeply as he knew the knowledge of his betrayal would was the absolute last thing in the world he wanted.

As he rode up in front of Millicent's house, his curiosity was almost at a fever pitch. He hoped that whatever it was, it wouldn't be bad news. He was just starting to build a life for himself and looking forward to a future with Kai. It was the weight of all this that made his paws shake as he tied up his horse and walked towards the wolfess' front door.
