A New Day
Poems, as usual. I do believe my outlook has lightened up a little bit.
We awaken to a new day
A new dawn to hope, live and rest
Albeit our lives be short today,
We learn everything we see, like a pest
Following here and there, seeking greater knowledge.
A sea of information, unending.
in it we tread, naive yet filled with courage
Amidst the frantic waves, our end impending.
Some say hopes are made to be broken,
others say gains are obtained to be lost.
Yet more say nothing, blissfully ignorant of the world.
I say one lives, to learn and forget, a fine balance.
What we know, what we are ignorant of,
Regardless, the minutes trudge by.
This universe suffering forevermore.
Their cries gone unheard.
I say one must live to relieve,
To be that helping hand, a light.
To be that horseback knight, a sight.
To undo the one that was to be blight.
For no matter what we learn, algebra to differentials,
Where there's joy, there's pain.
best we can do is patch each other up,
Dozing off together, to face the new day.
