Our Kind Just Don't Get Along: Two Weeks Notice
#4 of Our Kind Just Don't Get Along.
Aeria sat there staring at Vadan for what, to him at least, felt like a century. "Go back to sleep" she said her voice emotionless as she turned away from him dimming the gas lamp.
Vadan watched as she slid back beneath the covers , pulling them up to her chin. She didn't say anything else. He slipped back down into a laying position with a heavy sigh, his thoughts weighing down his mind. He jumped slightly as he felt something against his back. "Aeria?" he said glancing over his shoulder.
"Hum?" Aeria said obviously half asleep by that point.
"What happened to staying on your side of the bed?" he asked.
"What are you going to give me rabies or something if we touch?" she asked him.
Vadan could sense the smirk in her voice. "N-no" he stuttered.
"Well then I don't think it matters" Aeria said through a yawn.
Vadan felt his face get warm. He sensed her as she shifted behind him, her tail brushing against his arm.
"This doesn't mean I like you though" she said bluntly, in a cold tone that emphasized her words. "It just means that I don't hate you as much as I did before" she said easily, "but you still have a long way to go before you even get close to me liking you in anyway."
"Thanks for the information" Vadan said stiffly as he lay there. "You are just a little..." he mumbled the rest of his words. "And to think I cut off that do-" he hesitated. "I'm going for a walk" he grunted sliding out of the bed.
Aeria slid off after him and stepped in front of the door. "You cut off what?" she asked as she locked eyes with him.
Vadan noticed how here eyes sparkled with the sunlight that entered the window from the rising sun.
"It's nothing" Vadan said tearing his gaze away from hers. "It's not important. And the only reason I kissed you was because.....well because you were there and I was bored!" he snapped. "I don't like you at all! I don't see how anyone could like someone as vain as you! All you care about is yourself, you know you never once thanked Werand or Rin for what they did for you earlier today you know that?" he pressed as his jaw clenched slightly. "I liked you better when you were crying!" he said with a low growl. "In fact it made me happy to see you weak, having to do as others tell you."
Aeria blinked, stunned at Vadan's sudden up roar.
"And as for what I cut...I cut off the freaks cock!" he said now almost bellowing. "Because I thought no one deserves to be treated like that! But you know what?" he asked his voice suddenly dropping as he shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe I did that....in fact I think you deserved it...and I'm upset that it didn't happen...you need to be put in your place!" he turned on his heel and gathered his clothes and bag. "Tell Werand and Rin it has been nice knowing them...." he said shoving her to the side.
Aeria hit the wall, she felt her breathing become heavy as she fought back tears that had sprung up with Vadan's words. Vadan stalked out of the room, leaving her on the floor. She dug her claws into the carpet as she squeezed her eyes shut.
Vadan stopped at the end of the hall to pull his clothes on. "I was wrong" he said in disgust. "she's just as horrible as I thought she was"
Aeria closed the door carefully as she rose to her feet and made her way back to the bed. "I was wrong" she said softly. "He's just as horrible as I thought he was" she cried, her body shaking as she curled up on top of the covers.

Werand knocked on the door to Vadan and Aeria's room.
Aeria's ears perked up at the noise and she slid out of the bed, her whole body feeling heavy and sluggish. She opened the door part of the way half hoping to see Vadan returning, but instead she saw Werand in front of her. "Get dressed" he said gently. "It's time to go"
She nodded her head and shut the door again. With a heavy sigh she pulled out her clothes and sat on the edge of the bed, motionless for a moment. She pulled off her nightgown and slipped into her clothes. She paused infront of the mirror to fix her hair, a paw trailed across her lips as she recalled the kiss Vadan had given her last night. Aeria lingered for a moment longer in the mirror before leaving the room and following Werand down the hall in silence.

They sat at the table waiting impatiently. They rose as the door to their room was opened and in walked a young male red fox followed closely by a younger female black cat.
"Sit" said one of them as he gestured to the chairs across from them. All three of them waited for the young feline to sit down before they took their own seats.
"Here is the monthly allowance" said one as he produced a bag of jinggling coins and set it onto of the table. The one next to him pulled out two sheets of parchment and two quills handing them to their guests.
They pulled the parchment towards themselves and wrote short notes reassuring their benefactor that they were fine and in good health, and they thanked him for the money as well.
"There is another matter we must take care of" one of them said.
"And that is?" the red fox asked his voice hard, he always hated the furs that got sent, they always seemed to think that they were better then him just because they served the king.
"No need to be rude Werand" said the one sitting across from him. "The king just wishes that his daughter returns at the end of the next to weeks.
"What!? Why!?" she asked as she jumped up from her seat knocking it over.
Werand stood up and touched her arm gently. "Princess Aeria" he said softly. "please calm down."
Aeria looked at him for a moment and gave a small nod of her head.
He picked up her seat and helped her sit back down.
The two across the table smirked, "I see you failed to bring her up as a proper young lady Werand" they chided.
Werand kept himself from growling. "That is not the matter at hand here" he said. "Why does her father wish for her to return?"
"He says that it is not important as to why...." they said. "but she must be home or a warrant shall be sent out"
Werand glared at them knowing that they had convinced the king to set out a warrant for him if he did not return to the palace with the princess, they knew that despite him being the guard, Aeria had a strong influence in his work. "She'll be there" he said as he rose from his seat. "Now if you'll excuse us" he said taking Aeria's arm with one paw and the satchel of money with the other.
Aeria followed Werand's lead and headed towards the door.
"See you in two weeks Werand" they said with a chuckle.
This time Werand growled as he opened the and ushered Aeria out of the room.

Rin woke up to an empty bed. "Wer?" she called out but got no answer. She sat up rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She slipped off of the bed and shivered as the cold air hit her naked body. Rin reached out and grabbed her nightgown slipping it over her head. "Werand?" she called out again.
"Yes?" he said as he opened the door.
"Where did you go?" she asked tilting her head as she looked at him carefully.
"Just out for some fresh air" he said with a smile masking the annoyed feeling that had been building up inside of him since he had left the room. He walked over to her and pulled her into a tight hug. "morning" he murmured into her ear. He didn't like lying to her but he had to, he wasn't allowed to let anyone know what he was doing.
Rin kissed him and wrapped her tail around him.

Aeria finished putting her things in her bag. Werand had said that they would b spending another couple of night's there, because it was useless to start walking if they had two weeks, it would only take about two days to get to the palace. The empty feeling of the room was bugging her. "I need some air" she sighed softly to herself as she grabbed her cloak, slid it on and hurried out of the room.

Rin went through the pockets of his pants trying to find some sort of evidence, all she found though was the money. She sat on the bed with a heavy sigh. "How dose he do it?" she asked quietly.
Every month, once they were in town, Werand always seemed to produce a sufficient amount of money to get them through until the next month. he never told here where he got it or how he got it, and a few times she had found that Aeria was gone as well, the same day that Werand got the money. They would return later, one later then the other, but there still seemed to be something that they were hiding.
This was one of the few times a frown would cross her lips. She trusted Werand, but he didn't seem to trust her with some things, including how he came across the money. Every time she brought up the subject he would find a way to skirt around it.
"What are you doing love?" Werand asked as he walked out of the bath room.
"Waiting for you" Rin said with an instant giggle as she looked at his bare chest. She held his pants behind her back and gently set them down.
