The Adventures of Stevo-Chapter 5-Stormalong Harbor,2009
When he saw where he was, he knew he was in for a surprise.
"Oh my. I remember this place! This is where that boy hangs out with that drunk captain and lives in that sassafras whale. But what in Davey Jones the pirate where their names?" Stevo said to himself as he was rowing closer and closer to the harbor, while noticing that he was in a navy sailor costume.
"Hm... if only I were smar-" he bumped into something. He looked up to see a light blue object in the way. But as he looked, the thing turned around, seeing that it was a giant whale. "-ter."
"Can I help you?" the whale asked. Then he thought of having a little fun with doing a British accent.
"Why yes. Um... is this Stormalong Harbor?"
"Of course it is, didn't you read the sign back there?" the whale told him, while pointing at the direction where the sign was. "Ooooh."
"Who are you anyway?" The whale asked again. He knew he was gonna have to lie again, so he did it.
"I'm Captain Stephan Lamberto. My ship sunk a couple of days ago, and I've been stuck in this bloody rowboat until I found this place."
"Well nice to meet you. Flapjack, looks like you got company!" Then he heard a little "weee" inside the whale. And then Stevo said to himself, 'Flapjack...?' Then a boy in a sailor's outfit almost like his popped out of the blowhole and looked at him. "Are you an adventurer?"
"Well, partly yes."
*gasps* "Wow, a real adventurer! I need to show Captain K'nuckles this. Wait... Bubbie, where's Captain K'nuckles?"
"He's sleeping on a crate at the end of the dock."
"Okay, thanks!" Then Flapjack grabbed him by the arm and started running to where K'nuckles was.
"K'nuckles, K'nuckles wake up! I want you to meet someone." K'nuckles' eyes started to open.
"Uh, *eyes widen* Who's that weirdo standing beside you?"
"K'nuckles, I like you to meet Captain Stephan Lamberto. He's gonna stay with us until his help arrives."
"Yeah, yeah, that's great, Flapjack. Now let me sleep." Then K'nuckles fell asleep again. As they watched, Flapjack asked Stevo a question.
"Captain Stephano?"
"Yes, Flapjack?"
"You want to go to the Candy Barrel?"
"Eh, why not?" Then he lied. "I haven't ate candy since I went to Candy Island." Flapjack couldn't believe what he just told him.
"You've been to Candy Island?!" Flapjack yelled, with a few people noticing.
"Shush, yea, I'll tell you the story when we get there." Then they quickly walked to the Candy Barrel, ignoring the people watching him.
When the wooden doors opened, they slowly walked up to and sat beside Peppermint Larry, who was cleaning the mugs.
"Well hello Flapjack." He noticed something different about him.
"Hmm... Flapjack, where is that captain of yours?"
"Oh, him, he's asleep."
"Then who's that with you?" Larry pointed at Stevo.
"Larry, this is Stephan." Then Stevo gave a little "hello" back.
"Well, Stephan, what do you need?"
"Two mugs of candy please." Then Larry filled the mugs with unwrapped candy and gave it to them.
"That'll be 2 dollars." When Stevo saw that he didn't have any money, he could tell that this wasn't going to go good.
"Well, do you have 2 dollars?"
"Uh, it seems that I lost my money when my ship sank. Heh... uh oh." Then Larry became furious and went to grab his broom and started beating them in order for them to leave.
"And don't you ever come back unless you have money with you!" he yelled as Stevo and Flapjack ran out the door. After they stopped running, Flapjack got upset.
"I can't believe we didn't get any candy." Then he grabbed something out of his pocket (not the one with the ring) and showed Flapjack a few pieces of candy. "Woah!"
When they sat on the edge of the dock, eating their candy, Flapjack had forgot to ask Stephan about his trip to Candy Island.
"Stephan, about earlier, how DID you get to Candy Island?" Then Stevo forgot about that. So he decided to make up the story.
"Well Flapjack, I've got there by boat. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever laid my eyes on. The trees were made of lollipops, the boulders looked like marshmallows, the water even smelled like blueberries. But as I was getting some apple-flavored grass and chocolate-flavored pebbles, the island started to shake. So I ran as fast as I could. But when I got on the ship, cherry gush came flying out of the mountain, so I drove as quickly as I can. But then, CRASH! a giant cherry made a hole in the boat, so I got into the rowboat and abandoned my ship. After that, I was stuck in there for 2 days until I came here. And that's the story of my trip to Candy Island." Then Flapjack was in awe when he finished.
"Stephan, what other adventures did you go on?"
"Um, I spent a few days in a prison boat when I was being mistaken for a criminal, I went to a giant island filled with talking animals, and before my trip to Candy Island, I visited Lady Nickelbottom's mansion."
"Wow. That's amazing." But then they stopped for a moment of silence, then Stevo thought of an idea and looked at Flapjack.
"Hey Flapjack, want to go on an adventure?"
"Boy do I!" yelled Flapjack in excitement.
"Great! But first, let's find a ship to sneak into."
When they looked all over Stormalong for a ship, they came across one: a Russian whaler's ship.
"Uh, Flapjack, are you sure this is where you want to be on? It looks kinda scary."
"Nonsense, now c'mon!" They started to sneak behind the ship, trying to hide from the whalers. When Flapjack got to the top, Stevo looked up to see a long piece of rope on the edge and called him quietly.
"Flapjack! Throw the rope down here so I can get on!"
"Okay!" Flapjack threw the rope like he was asked to. But then, the ship started moving.
"Oh crrraaahahahahahahahappp!" Stevo yelled as he was bouncing up and down on the waves the ship was making. He pulled on the rope as much as he could, trying to get on the ship.
"Whew. There, I did it. Uh... Flapjack, where'd you go?"
"Here I-*AGH*-am captain." Stevo jumped.
"Don't sneak up on me like that, boy. Hey, where'd you get that uniform?"
"From some skeletons. Here, I got you one as well." Then Stevo put on the uniform.
"Eh, even though it smells, at least it's comfortable." They started walking on the deck of the ship, trying to find some candy. Until they bumped into a buff-looking man guarding the doors.
"To, chto vy dvoye tut delete?" The man spoke.
"What did he say?" Flapjack asked. Stevo responded back in a whisper.
"He's Russian. I know how to speak Russian as well so don't worry. Oh, and he asked what are we doing here." Then he winked.
"Da, my vse bol'she kitovogo zhira dlya nashego kapitana." The man smiled.
"Nu v takom sluchaye, idite pryamo vpered." Then he opened the door that lead to the whale room.
"Spasibo." Then the door shut behind them when they entered. When they turned around, it looked dark. So Stevo ripped a piece of his uniform and lit it with a match he found.
"Now let's go find some candy!" Then they started looking up and down the ship, only seeing whale ribs lined up on the wooden walls and hearing the squishing sound of their feet pressing against the blubber in every step.
"Hey Captain, I found some candy!" Flapjack yelled quietly.
"Great! Where are you?" When he finally saw Flapjack, he ran towards him. Then he wasn't happy what he saw that was guarding it: Eight-Armed Willy.
"Hm... Flapjack, hold this torch while I get it." Then he started to tip-toe and skip through the tentacles.
"Be careful, Captain." As he got closer and closer to the candy-filled chest, the louder Willy snored. When he finally made it, he waved at Flapjack and yelled, "Flapjack, I got the chest!" Without looking, Willy's eye opened behind him.
"Uh, Captain, I think you should start running now."
"Why so?" Then he looked back to see a giant eye right in front of him. "Well hello, um... RUN, FLAPJACK!" Then he ran with the chest and missed Willy's arm hitting the floor. They ran back to the door, knocking it violently. The door slowly opened and they started to run towards one of the rowboats.
"To, chto vy rabotayete s?!" the man yelled at him.
"Begi! Gigantskiy os'minog napadayet na korabl'! *screams*" Stevo yelled back as he watched the man trying to close the door. They got into the rowboat and tried to row away as fast as they could. As they got away farther and farther away from the ship, it exploded, creating a giant fireball in the middle of the ocean.
"Thank goodness we made it! And we still got the candy!" Stevo yelled. Then Flapjack cheered.
When they returned to Stormalong, they stopped at the dock where they saw Bubbie sleeping. They then got the chest and lifted it to her.
"Bubbie, wake up. We got a surprise for you!" Flapjack told her as her eyes were opening up.
"Ugh, what is it now, Flapja-WOOOO!" Bubbie woke up fully by the sight of the candy-filled chest. "Where'd you get that from?!"
"From Eight Armed Willy, of course!" As Bubbie and them laughed, an air horn went off.
"Ow!" Stevo turned around saw a man in a navy officer's uniform coming up at the end of the dock. The man got out of the boat and walked up towards them while holding a scroll. He stopped in front of the group and unrolled it and looked at the list.
"Is there a Stephan Lamberto here?" The man asked loudly.
"That must be me. Flapjack, Bubbie, I have to go."
"Wait, Stephan, I want you to have this!" Then he gave him a bucket full of candy from the chest.
"Why thank you, Flapjack. Now I must be going. Goodbye!" Stevo said as he was walking with the man towards the boat. They waved back as they rowed away from the dock.
As they rode into the sunset, the man changed into the figure from before.
"Stevo, in your next mission, you will be sent to the year 2010. And this is where you will wear the ring when its time to. Understood?"
"Yes sir." Then the figure faded away. But when Stevo was left alone on the boat, the sky started to turn gray and began raining, the waves started to get choppy and rough, the boat started to rock violently. When he looked behind, a 50-foot wave was behind him, which he tried to paddle quickly, but the wave knocked him out of his boat and into the deep blue ocean.
When he woke up after being hit by it, he saw that he was in a forest, and spitted the grass from his mouth. When he turned, he looked around and thought as if he was in Fantasyland.
