Mitopanna Savannah Chronicles - Chapter Seven
#7 of The Mitopanna Savannah Chronicles
The Worst Day Ever
When Kijivu woke, he was alone. The sun was blistering and blinding. He blinked as he rolled over- flinched horribly, pain shot along his back, even worse, he was obviously weakened. His claws grazed the bark of the Acacia, but for some reason he just couldn't get a grip. He felt himself slipping, as though in slow motion, as his claws barely danced over the crevices of the bark they should have sunken into. Kijivu glided around the branch as though it was covered in ice, and before he knew it, and without any power to stop it, Kijivu fell from the tree, pawing hopelessly fro the branch above him as it seem to fly away. He landed heavily on his back, pain swearing through his whole body.
"Aaarrgg...." he groaned, his head spinning in pain. He lay there a moment, until the naseau passed. Then slowly, painfully, he got to his feet.
"Damn her." he growled.
It was hot, late mid-day. Kijivu limped stiffly to the Water Hole, wading into the water. Though it was not cool, refreshment was not what Kijivu sought... The warm water lapped over his achy body, the wet warm relaxing his cramping muscles. He lain in the water on his back, the water hiding most of him, his face, paws and a bit of chest peeked out of the water.
He closed his eyes against the sun, and lie there, relaxing away his aches. He sighed heavily. Something brushed his hind foot. He twitched that leg, warningly. It was probably just his imagination anyway. He swished his tail lazily, than flinched wildly, splashing up the water. Now he knew he felt a tiny paw on his tail- just for s second... He held himself up a bit, looking around. This time of day, the Water Hole was barren- animals were waiting for the cool breezes of evening before trekking out to the Water Hole to drink. He scanned the pool that was the Water Hole, but nothing stirred but the ripples he himself had caused. He lifted up his tail... all looked well.
Kijivu lay back again, relaxing. He had to stop being so jumpy.
"I hope you can swim better than you can climb, Lion!"
Kijivu leapt, agonized, to his feet, looking all about. But he was alone. The water rippled, again, from his quick movement. He stood, sopping and dripping, gazing over the horizon, the water... but he was truly alone.
"Okay, easy now. You're just overtired and sore, Kij... Just ignore it, you'll be fine."
He sighed, it must've been in his head, or a fish or something. Again, he lie back in the water, and now he was 'left alone'. He dozed, on and off for a few hours. It was a really very pleasant time, once he relaxed and let himself just enjoy the warm and the calm of the quiet Water Hole. The water was deliciously washing over him, lapping him, massaging him, tickling his thigh, running it's tiny claws gently along his belly, stirring the warmth in his belly.
Kijivu's eyes snapped open as he was rudely awakened by the realisation that the water, in fact, did not have tiny little claws and there was no way it could massage or tickle him.
He lay stiffly, but the sensations continued. Tiny paws were exploring his nether regions, rubbing and carressing him. It felt very good, so the Lion relaxed. Hey, if someone wanted to pleasure him, it was okay with him!
As soon as he relaxed, the creature began to stroke his scrotum, and he could feel the blood flowing pleasantly to his loins. He felt the pulse of arousal flooding his penis, which quickly hardened, unshealthing itself. Evidently the creature was very aware, for it's little paws wrapped eargerly around it, making Kijivu moan with pleasure. The texture of the tiny barbs on his shaft must have startled his little water-friend, for the paws withdrew quickly.
Then, all sensation stopped.
After a few moments, Kijivu realised that it was all over, inspite of his heightened state of arousal. He snarled, frustrated. The sun was lowering, reddening the African sky. Kijivu was put into a rare mood now, he felt so irritable...
"Nobody ever told me about that!" the voice he had heard eariler said. Kijivu whirled, to see an Otter sitting up in the water. Now that the pleasure had a face, Kijiju's cheeks burned with embarrassment. And not only that, but the Otter... was evidently male! His own penis was bright pink as it poked up from the brown water.
"About what?" Kijivu asked- staring at the littel Otter's bright pink member.
"About the barbs!" The Otter said, loudly.
"SHHH!" Kijivu shushed the Otter harshly, looking around in a panic. "My mother might be nearby!" he said roughly through gritted teeth.
"Oh," the Otter said, looking around. "So, I'm Chochea, And you are?"
Kijivu blinked. "Chochea... You... you can't be serious."
The Otter frowned. "Uh, yes... I am."
"Oh, hee, well uh... I'm Kijivu. Nice to meet you... Chochea."
"Likewise," the Otter, Chochea responded. He looked the Lion up and down. "You know, I think I might be able to get used to that feeling..." He looked at his little webbed paws, then eyed the Lion seductively. "...for someone as cute as you."
"Uh, that's okay, Chochea... You don't have to do anything for me."
The Otter winked at him. "Yeah, okay. Well, I gotta run. We'll pick up where we left off some other time, Kijivu."
"That's okay, I think it will be-"
But the Otter disappeared beneath the muddy waters of the Water Hole.
"-fine left here." Kijivu growled irritatedly. He was very sexually frustrated. He was so aroused, and then... GRR. He snarled, and then turned away from the water.
Someone laughed nearby.
Kijivu's blood ran cold. Soneone had been watching. The laugh was male, so he was able to at least find relief in the fact it was, in no way, Jiweusi.
"It figures that one like you, Maluuni, would attract others akin to you."
As the pale blue-eyed, golden-maned lion stepped out, the grass parting before him, Kijivu was psychologically bombarded.
_"AMINIFU!" his mother screamed, the golden-maned Lion leaping at her, teeth bared and claws aimed. As he torn into her flesh, she began screaming, and screaming, and screaming... Until the screaming stopped.
The golden-maned lion's eyes blazed like icy blue flames, he stalked toward him and his sister and brother, the cubs clinging to one another.
"Maluuni... the lot of you... cursed, evil-blood, poison in our blood. I'll rid you of your curse..."
The cubs scattered, screaming and crying. Their mother had been leading them to the Water Hole, but now?
He ran blindly, stumbling upon the rendered body of their mother.
"MAMA!" he cried out in horror, his mother's bright yellow eyes frozen, transfixed obscenely, her life-blood spilt. He wheeled on his hind quarters, just running, running, running... he heard his brother squealing, then a nauseating crunch as the scream fell quiet.
He kept running.
His sister began screaming... he put his head down, his eyes pinched shut... Her scream began ragged, he looked behind him to see Aminifu, his sister in the golden-maned Lion's mouth, and he was shaking her, wagging his head forcfully side-to-side, trying to break her frail form with the sheer force of her own weight. Her blood spraying all over, until he snapped his head one way, releasing her into the air, her white fur pinked by her blood, she spun around, limped, but very aware, her scream finally ending as she hit the ground._
He was now running for his life, the lion was coming after him, he skirted the Water hole, running for the Acacia tree... he only thought to try to climb it. As he passed beneath the tree's shadow, the shadow itself jumped down at him, and he screaming in horror, but it moved passed him, and he heard two bodies collide behind him...
Kijivu snapped out of it, staring down that very same Lion as he panted, his heart racing, a pain piercing like an icicle through the centre of his chest.
"I know you." Kijivu growled.
"Do you remember me, Maluuni?" Aminfu said seething with pride, knowing the young Lion just saw the horrors of his youth flash before his eyes. "How sweet."
"What do you want?"
"I wanted to see if your curse had rubbed off on that damned Jiweusi, yet."
"If you ever come near her..." Kijivu bristled.
"What will you do, Maluuni?"
"I'll kill you myself," he snapped, a roar slowly climbing up his throat.
"Why not kill me now?"
Kijivu had actually not considered that. He had felt so helpless, reminded of his youth... Why not kill him?
"Because, contrary to your belief, Aminifu..." the first time Kijivu had ever muttered that name in his life... "I am not so cursed."
"Oh really? Well, I hear tell you will be the cause of the King's fall from the throne."
"I'm the Heir," Kijivu said, confused.
"Following in his footsteps and being his downfall are two very different concepts, Maluuni." Aminfu jeered.
"Yeah? Well so are murder and hunting, as are self righteousness and doing what is really right."
"Oooh, how wise." Aminfu grinned.
"I saved a life yesterday."
"Oh did you? Poor fool. Who?"
"Doesn't matter, she hates me for it."
"Ooh, a damsel in distress."
"Look buddy, I'm not in the mood, so tell me what you want before I decide to end this conversation."
"Touchy." Aminfu smirked. "Well, I just wanted to see how my son was doing. I haven't seen you for six seasons, you know."
Kijivu glared. "Yeah, okay. Well now you see me. Go away."
Aminifu smiled, turning and walking South. Kijivu climbed the tree and watched Aminifu until he was out of sight. Once he was sure that the golden lion was gone, he climbed down from the Acacia. Night had fallen, the stars were out... a gorgeous night to follow the day from hell.
He reached the ground just in time, it seemed. A gentle rustle came from the grass behind him.
"Oh, man." he sighed. "Ma, you will not be_lieve_ the day I had..." Kijivu turned to meet Jiweusi's gaze but found that instead of her shinging green eyes, he was gazing once again into the most beautiful aqua eyes he had ever seen.
"Hello, Kijivu." Mzao said, shyly.
