Luna's Past, Luke's Despair
#3 of Odd Company
No children. Mature adults only. Immature adults may vary.
Far to the north of the charred forest were the Mystic Mountains. These massive pyramids of stone and ice been recognized by humans and animals alike for their awesome beauty. What was most intriguing though was the fact that the mountain ranged went around in a large circle, therefore there had to be a valley within the rocky range. However, no human has entered the valley for a thousand years and very few animals are able to find their way inside, even for those that can fly. No creature that has braved the rocky landscape and traversed the labyrinth of tunnels has ever come back, only those who fail to find the passage to the valley. Yet somehow, there are rumors and myths concerning the valley, detailing a paradise where no animal must live in fear of man, filled with creatures never before seen or thought to be extinct, and home of the Animal Gods that watch over their kin. No one knows what is true and what is false, but if the rumors were true, then those who are deemed worthy will find their own personal Heaven.
The snow near the mountain was quite thin, but as the distance from the mountains increase, so does the amount of snow. This was an interesting fact, one that Luke, Luna, and Trixey discovered first hand. As the odd company came to the edge of the deep snow, Luna and Trixey sighed in relief. Luna the wolf dropped down on her stomach, exhausted by the long, hard walk through the deep snow. "Well, that would be my exercise for the day" she panted, her tongue hanging out of her mouth.
Trixey the vixen padded over beside her lupine companion and shook off all the snow and frost that had accumulated on her red fur. "When I joined this weird herd, nobody mentioned that we would be hiking through enough snow to turn a black bear into a polar bear" the vixen muttered as she plopped down next to Luna.
Luna raised her head up and smirked at the lamenting vixen. "Sure we did, you vixens are just too airheaded to listen to what others say" said the wolf sweetly. Trixey glared at her and kicked a pound of snow into Luna's face. "I'm only kidding; I thought devious little tricksters like yourself could take a joke" stated Luna, shaking the snow off her face. The wolf's efforts were in vain as the irate vixen kicked up another load of snow.
As Luna shook off the second layer of snow she realized someone was missing. Luke! "Trixey, did you see Luke anywhere?" the wolf asked with a note of concern in her voice.
Trixey's eyes went wide with realization and worry. "I thought he was with you, the last time I saw him was when we made that pit stop at midday" replied the vixen. Both Luna and Trixey bolted upright and started to backtrack their route when a small lump of snow separated itself from the deep snow and wandered over to the both of them. The two canines stared at the little snowball with curiosity as it began to shake and fall apart, revealing a little red squirrel.
Luke shook his entire body with enough force to fling every last bit of snow off of him. The two females were relieved to see that their friend was okay, but Luke was far from happy. The snow had dampened his fur, resulting in his appearance as a wet rat with a smell to match. The climate, wind, and dampness of his fur chilled him to the bone and he was now shaking violently. Luke glared up into the canines' faces, unsatisfied with their smiling faces.
"What in the world are you two smiling at!?" shouted Luke at the top of his lungs through chattering teeth. Luna and Trixey, shocked by the squirrel's outburst, immediately wiped the smiles from their faces. "I hate the snow, I hate the cold, I hate being designated as food by whatever predator we come across, I'm tired, we've been walking for the past three days with little rest and even less food, and now after I've had to trudge through miles of snow by myself I'm suddenly greeted by two females grinning their tails off at my inconvenience!" Luke sat down, his little rant tiring him out. "I just want to rest, I'm hungry and tired" he said, a small sob escaping from his lips.
Luna approached him and gave him a small affectionate lick; Luke was not used to traveling this much and was becoming more and more frustrated by the long journey. "Don't worry, Luke. We'll find someplace to rest" the wolf reassured her friend. Luke simply looked up and gazed into her yellow eyes, tired yet thankful. Luna lowered herself onto her stomach and motioned to Luke to hop on her back. Luke approached her flank and tried to climb up to her back, but his little body was too fatigued to allow him to do so. Trixey, feeling sorry for the hapless squirrel, padded over to him and used her muzzle to help him onto the wolf's back. As he laid on the soft fur of his companion, Luke's eyes started to drop and he fell asleep in an instant.
As Luna rose to her full height, she glanced back to the small squirrel sleeping on her back. "We really need to find some place to rest, we owe it to Luke and ourselves" Luna whispered to Trixey so Luke wouldn't be disturbed. Trixey nodded in agreement and the two of them made their way to the base of the Mystic Mountains.
At the foot of the mountains, Luna and Trixey scanned the rocky landscape for a cave or some other makeshift shelter. Luna's gaze turned upwards to the mountains themselves; she had heard the rumors and myths, casting them aside as worthless animal lore. But after what happened to her pack, the death of her mate, the endangerment of Luke's forest, and the destruction of Trixey's habitat, the wolf could think of no other place to live than in the mysterious valley; a safe haven, where no animal was endangered from anything except the occasional carnivore, and absolutely no men with guns. Luna's heart began to throb painfully in her chest with rage. "Those monsters will pay" she thought to herself, "I swear it; mother, father, brothers and sisters, Luke, Trixey, I will see them all dead!" As Luna made this vow in her heart, she reminisced on the one wolf who gave her joy, who taught her everything she knew, and had taken her as his mate; her one true love, her deceased beloved, Fang. Fang's image came to her mind's eye, blocking out all else. Luna remembered his pitch black fur, his impressive muscular body, his cool gaze, everything a wolf could want and more.
The more she dwelled in the past, the more lucid her memories became. The wolf thought about the first time she saw him, standing over the carcass of a large black bear that had threatened the pack. Since that day, Luna followed Fang everywhere he went, each time he called out to him he would greet her by saying, "Hello, lovely," until the day he took notice of her presence and offered to show her a few tricks. The training she had undertaken, his training, was far more efficient than the methods the pack used to gain territory or gather food; devouring or chasing away the weaker creatures, invading the territories of other smaller wolf packs and other predators and taking on each and every creature that dared to stand in their way and coming out on top and virtually untouched. Luna's father, the pack leader, disapproved of Fang's methods, warning him of the dangers of such cruelty; Fang said the same thing he told everyone who questioned his methods, "The world's a big place, what difference does it make if we take such measly scraps of land from worthless prey or rival predators?" Luna's father would've banished him on the spot for such insolence, but seeing his daughter so smitten with Fang, he simply walked away with Luna's mother, disappointed in the arrogant wolf. Luna's mother, who shared the same feelings as her mate towards Fang, would always lead the pack leader to their personal den and soothe the angered wolf through conversation, song, and most often, sex.
For the next few months, Luna and Fang became nigh inseparable, always hunting together, eating together, and taking short naps together. It finally came to the point where Luna was going through her first heat, taken completely by surprise of the intensity of the ache in between her legs. One night, Fang noticed her flushed face, knowing full-well that she was in heat, and offered to soothe her burning thighs. Luna accepted wholeheartedly, but was curious as to how he would do it. All her questions were answered when he mounted her and guided his huge wolf cock into her virginity; the two of them stayed up all night, exploring their passion and howling in pleasure.
The next few days came to some disappointment to Luna, she had mated with Fang so many times, yet she was not yet pregnant. Fang reassured her that in time she would give birth to a large litter of pups, strong and brave, the new generation of the pack. Luna kept these words in her heart, dreaming of the day she would gaze down at her offspring as they curled up next to her and drank the milk from her teats.
Much to Luna's dismay, that day never came. Two days later, a large band of men with torches and firearms came crashing through the wolves' territory, setting fire to the trees and blasting any wolf that got in their way. Luna was with her mother when they came for them, the two females taken completely by surprise. One of the men raised their musket at the wolves and fired; the wolves managed to dodge the shoot, but the bullet tore into a tree that was destabilized by the fire. The mighty oak came crashing down on top of Luna's mother, crushing her underneath its weight. Luna raced towards her mother, her upper body free from the great trunk. Her mother stared at her with a somber look, and mustered all of her strength to speak her last words to her daughter:
"No matter what happens, always remember that you can always find happiness again anywhere with anyone your heart desires." With one last whimper and a forced smile on her muzzle, Luna's mother closed her eyes and slept, never to awaken again.
Luna felt hot tears streaming down her face as she called out her mother, begging her to get up, knowing that she couldn't. As Luna sobbed, she heard the men approaching from behind. Luna whirled around and bared her fangs, defending her deceased mother. The same man who fired at the two of them now approached her with a long, curved knife that produced the stench of over a hundred different animals and a small engraving of a bull's skull on the handle. As he advanced towards her, she charged at him, dodging the knife and sinking her teeth in his throat. The man let out a bloodcurdling scream as she tore his esophagus out of his neck. Even as he bled to death, Luna continued to tear into the man's body, shredding him to pieces. When there was little left of him, Luna stepped away from the corpse, panting heavily with blood dripping from her fangs. The sound of more men reached; she wanted to take them all on, but decided that her rage could be put to better use by aiding her pack. As Luna turned to the direction of her parent's cave, she took one last look at her mother body, which was now completely engulfed in flames, and ran off to find Fang and her father.
The distraught wolf raced up to the top of a hill in the hopes of gaining a birds-eye view of the landscape. Her keen eyes spotted a black and gray wolf who she automatically recognized as her father and Fang close behind him. The two wolves ran into the small den that served as the pack leader's personal dwelling, only to be trapped by a large group of men who unloaded a barrage of bullets into the cave. Luna screamed in sorrow, she was too late. The men, however, heard Luna's cry and spotted her against the dark sky. As the men came for her, she had no choice but to run. Luna ran for hours, even when she escaped the men, crying to herself as she raced through unknown territory until she came to an old log where she slept within.
The next season was difficult for the lone wolf; her proud heart was shattered by the destruction of all she held dear. Without the pack, she could not catch any big game and was forced to choke down berries whenever she found them. Luna also had to run and hide from larger predators who saw her as a meal, all the knowledge she had ascertained from her parents and Fang had completely left her. But worst of all, her slit began to burn and throb with need, no amount of licking could ever sate her lust. The pain grew and grew, as did her hunger and despair, until the day she made her way into a forest, caught the scent of a smaller animal, and emerged from behind the bushes to discover a small red squirrel staring fearfully at her, petrified by her presence.
"Luke," Luna muttered to herself.
"Hey, Luna!" shouted Trixey from up on the mountain side, awakening the wolf from her daydream. "There's a cave up here that leads to a hot spring! We can rest in here for as long as we want in warmth! Just follow the smooth path up the slope!" exclaimed the vixen as she disappeared into the cave. Luna shook her head, regaining her focus on the situation at present: find someplace warm to stay and look after Luke. Luna made her way up the rocky mountain side, using the smoothed out path Trixey had previously used. When Luna made her way to the mouth of the cave, she could see small wisps of steam streaming forth from the depths of the mountain. However, her sense of smell relayed to her some disturbing news; the presence of another animal was present. Luna at first backed away from the cave, but when she felt Luke shiver on her back she flew a caution to the wind and delved into the cave in order to keep her friend warm.
As the winding tunnel came to an end, Luna was standing in a massive chamber that boasted a small hot spring in the center. The air inside the cave was warm, perfect for Luna and Trixey to bask in while Luke recovered his strength. Trixey was over by the spring, lying down near the waters' edge to warm up as much as possible. "My goodness, we've really hit the jackpot this time guys!" she shouted as she stretched along the spring bed. Luna began to pad over to the excited vixen, casting a watchful eye around the cave. The only way out was the same way they entered, there were small bones and leaves strewn about one corner of the chamber, and there was also a large pile of leaves towards the back, much like the pile Trixey had, only much larger. Luna decided that they would stay as long as they could, but once Luke was ready, they would have to leave immediately.
Luna laid down on her stomach and turned her head to face the exhausted little squirrel. "Luke," she whispered gently. Luke stirred a little, but was still in a deep sleep. "Luke," Luna said once more with a bit more volume. This time Luke didn't even budge. Trixey sighed at the sight of the wolf trying to coax the squirrel out of his sleep through whispers; the vixen then rose up and strode over to the wolf and the squirrel.
Trixey stopped when she was directly beside Luna and lowered her muzzle down onto the wolf's back, next to Luke. Trixey took a deep breath and shouted "WAKE UP YOU LAZY SQUIRREL!" Luke's eyes popped open as he screamed and scampered off Luna's back and into the spring. Luke emerged from the warm spring, coughing and wheezing, trying to piece together what just happened.
The first thing that came to his blurry vision was that of the two females smiling at him, which irked him a bit; "And there they are again, grinning their tails of at my inconvenience" he thought to himself. Then he realized that he was no longer freezing, but warm and toasty...and wet. Luke looked down to see himself standing waist deep in a hot spring. A smile grew onto his lips; they really were looking out for him after all. The wolf and the vixen started to giggle at the squirrel's goofy smile as he stood in the spring.
"Alright, you can have this one, I owe you that much" Luke muttered. "But did you really have to scream at me? Heavens, I thought you were my mother for second there." Luna and Trixey burst out in laughter at Luke's comment, and Luke joined in.
Their laughter was cut short, however, as a loud booming voice echoed from the entrance of the cave. "WHO DARES TO ENTER MY DOMAIN?" the thunderous voice bellowed. Luke stood still in the water, once again paralyzed with fear. Trixey was no different; she had never heard any creature with a roar like that. Luna was up on her paws and ready to face whatever came after them. From the tunnel leading to the outside, a large orange fox came into the chamber.
The three friends were in shock; none of them had seen a fox as big as the one before them. The orange fox was a male, judging by his booming voice, and nearly twice Trixey's size, almost the same size as Luna. The fox held a branch littered with wild berries in his jaws, an outraged expression plastered on his face. He spat out the twig in his mouth over by the bones and leaves near his large, makeshift bed. "Well," he spoke, "What's your excuse for invading my home?"
Luna approached him in a non-threatening way, wanting to avoid any conflict with the abnormally large vulpine. "Please," she started, "we were cold, hungry, and tired. We just need a place to stay while we get our strength up; please let us stay." The fox eyed over the wolf, then glanced back at Trixey and Luke.
"Very well, you can stay. But you must hand over the squirrel" he said with a cruel grin. Luke's heart stopped; not this again! Luna was about to reason with the fox when Trixey dashed past her and came face to face with the larger male.
"Now you listen to me, mister; you won't be eating my friend on my watch!" Trixey yelled at the fox.
The fox was completely dumbfounded, "Well, I-"he tried to say before Trixey cut him off.
"You have enough space and water for all four of us and, judging by your den, enough food to keep your fluffy orange butt fat all winter long!" she screamed.
"But...you...I..." the fox stuttered, his intimidating voice becoming less imposing as he was berated by the angry vixen.
"I don't care what you say, we are staying here and that's final; understand!?" she roared with all her might. The fox, as well as Luke and Luna, were shocked beyond all reasoning.
The large fox drooped his ears and lowered his head, tail curling between his legs. "Yes, ma'am" he muttered in a small voice, and retreated to his large pile of leaves.
Trixey was confused, Luke and Luna remaining in their state of shock. Trixey crept over to the two of them and whispered, "Oh my goodness, he's a wimp!"
Luna looked over at the disheartened fox, now curling up on his bed. "I guess he made his bed large enough to fool any intruders into thinking he was a bear or something, but with his size I don't understand why he would want to."
Luke waded out of the spring to be able to whisper to the two girls. "The walls of the tunnel and the cave probably amplified his voice to make him sound more intimidating than he really is" suggested Luke. All three of them stared at the fox, who was now pressing his body against the leaves in an attempt to hide from them.
Trixey felt pity for the meek fox. "I kind of feel bad for him; sure he wanted to eat Luke, but I didn't have to bite his head off." Luke stared at her, his eyes wide in fear and his face almost completely white in horror; Luna glared at the vixen, her eyes demanding her to apologize. "Sorry, Luke," Trixey whispered. Trixey then slowly approached the cowering fox, who whimpered as she came near.
"Hey," she said as she sat in front of him, "I'm sorry about that; I had no right to go off on you like that." The fox timidly raised his head. "You didn't know that Luke was our friend, I mean, I tried to eat him myself once. But he's a really nice guy and I don't want to lose him." The fox was now out of the pile of leaves and standing in front of her at his full height. Trixey felt weak just looking at him, but he wasn't acting as menacing as before. "So, let me try this again," Trixey muttered under her breath. "Can we please stay here for awhile?" the vixen asked as sweetly as possible, flattening her ears and widening her eyes to make her appear cute and less intimidating.
The fox took a step towards her and she took a step back, unaware of what he was going to do. The fox managed a small smile and said, "You can stay as long as you want." Trixey's eyes lit up and she rubbed up against the fox, who backed away slightly until she began to nuzzle into his chest fur.
Luke and Luna, satisfied with the fox's offer, padded over to the two of them. "Oh, where are my manners?" Trixey said with a blush. "The squirrel's name is Luke, that's Luna the wolf, and my name is Trixey; what's yours?" the vixen asked politely.
"Kent," said the fox, eyes lowered to the floor.
"Do you live here all by yourself, Kent?" asked Luna, trying to make the once emasculated fox feel more secure.
"Yes, I do" he said meekly.
Luke figured he should say something as well; after all, the guy was a bit of a weakling, and Luke knew what that felt like. "How did you get so big? Did you eat a lot of meat or what?" the squirrel asked, partially fearing his response.
"No," replied Kent, who started to blush, "I was just born this way; and I don't eat meat as much as I eat berries."
Luke was stunned with his answer; "Okay," he thought to himself, "I like this fox."
Kent gazed at the odd company for some time before saying, "Well, what's mine is yours; you don't owe me anything."
Trixey stared at him, bewildered by his generosity. "Are you sure you're okay with this' wouldn't we be a burden on you?" she asked. Kent glanced at her, his confidence starting to return.
"No, you won't be a burden" he said kindly, smiling a little. Trixey kept her eyes on him; she didn't realize it at first, but she noticed just how handsome he was. His kind eyes and voice mixing into his large muscular frame set off a small flare in her loins; she felt so aroused by his appearance. She had to have him.
"Well, I think I can find some way to repay you," said the vixen in a sexy voice as she nuzzled into the fox once more.
The fox began to blush wildly. "Um, uh, you-you really don't have t-to do anything, really" he stuttered as she rubbed up against him. Even though the vixen thought of his stammering as something to pitied, Trixey couldn't help but feel more attracted to him.
"Why," she asked sweetly, "don't you want to have a little fun?" Kent was starting to get a little more nervous now.
"W-well, it's just that...I've...never really...you know..." his voice trailed off, ashamed at his timidity. Trixey couldn't help but smile broadly; this gorgeous fox was not only kind and attractive, but he was still a virgin!
"Oh, don't worry," she said in a sly voice as she pressed herself to his chest, giving him a small lick on the cheek, "I'll show everything you need to know." No sooner had she finished her sentence, she ducked underneath the large fox and made her way to his hind legs, where she started to lap at his large sheathe and balls.
Kent let out a gasp as Trixey's tongue glided over his sheathe and balls; he never knew anyone could feel this good by simply having their crotches licked. "Oh my...Trixey...what are you...ah!" he panted as she started to suck on his balls.
"I'm simply returning the favor for letting me and my friends stay here with you," she replied before going back to suckle his sac. I didn't take long before the fox's member emerged from his sheathe, eager for the vixen's tantalizing tongue. Trixey took the fox's length into her mouth, her tongue swirling around the tip and lapping at the underside. Kent let out a low moan as Trixey sucked his cock, his hips bucking slightly towards her mouth.
"Trixey...I-Oh yes!" he rasped as she took one final suck on his dick. Dismayed that she stopped, Kent glanced underneath him at the smaller vulpine. "Why did you stop?" he asked, fearing he did something wrong.
"We can't let you have all the fun, can we?" Trixey asked as she turned around so her rear was aligned with his tool. "Now slide that huge thing into me and mate me!" she shouted, rubbing her damp slit over his cock tip. Obeying the vixen, Kent slowly pushed himself inside her wet cunny. Trixey let out a long moan as she felt his large cock fill her completely, stretching her walls out.
"Are you okay?" asked Kent.
"Come on, Kent! Mate me already!" whined the vixen, thrusting her hips into his. Kent took the hint and began to slowly slide his cock in and out of the moaning vixen. Trixey was beside herself with pleasure; his firm thrusts and huge prick hitting all the right spots. "Harder, faster!" she cried, and Kent obeyed, thrusting even harder than faster than before.
"Oh yes, yes, yes" yipped Kent as he humped the vixen underneath.
"Oh Kent...Oh my...Kent!" Trixey gasped as the fox quickened his pace.
Luna and Luke just watched the two vulpines as their bodies rocked and moaned in pleasure. Luke could feel his cock start to slip free of his sheathe as he gazed at the two fox's go at each other. Luke heard a small "a-hem" from behind. When he turned around, he was greeted by the sight of Luna laying on her side with one leg in the air, her moist slit a few inches from his face. "What?" asked Luna with a smile, "aren't you gonna come?" Luke's cock popped out of his sheathe the moment she said that. The squirrel climbed up onto her lower leg, placed his paws on her inner thighs, and began to lick her puffy cunt. "Oh, Luke" murred Luna, her leg twitching slightly in the air. Luke's tongue trailed up and down her nether lips, enticing small moans and giggles from the wolf. When he felt she was ready for the next phase, he lined his cock to her snatch and drove it in deep with one quick thrust. Luna moaned audibly, Luke grinning as she wriggled around his cock.
Luke began to move his hips back and forth, his small member stimulating the wolf's swollen pussy. "God, Luna...you're so beautiful" Luke moaned as he thrust himself deeper within her orifice. Luke's words flowed through Luna's ears and traveled down to her heart; she had not heard those words since Fang was killed. Luke truly cared for her, she knew that; but this, it was almost as if...
"...as if he was saying he loved me...," Luna thought to herself.
Luna arched her back and pressed her cunt to Luke's cock, wanting to feel every inch of his member inside of her. "Oh, Luke," Luna gasped as she closed her eyes and pressed against him, "mate me; take me as your own!" Luke could hear the passion in her voice and began to hammer into her as hard as possible, wanting to give the Luna the time of her life. As he slammed into her pussy, Luke brought his face to Luna's clit and began to suckle on it gently. Luna laid her head down on the cavern floor as she whimpered in delight, her leg now kicking involuntarily in the air.
Meanwhile, Trixey was approaching her climax with Kent not far behind. "Oh yes, Kent! You're going to make me...come!" Trixey cried as she orgasmed, her walls massaging Kent's large fox cock.
"Oh Trixey!" moaned Kent as he came inside of her, drowning her cunt with his fox seed. The two of them collapsed on the floor, Kent rolling of Trixey and laying down beside her. Trixey curled up next to Kent and buried her muzzle into his fur.
"Thank you," she mumbled. Kent brought his head down to her and gave her a small lick on her forehead.
"No, thank you," he said with a smile. The fox then wrapped his forepaws around the vixen and brought her close to him; the two drifting off to sleep.
Luna was whining loudly as Luke continued to suckle her clit and thrust into her cunt. "Luke, I...oh!" she yelped, trying to say the words that ate away at her heart. Luna wanted to say this the moment she and Luke became friends, even if it meant betraying her love to Fang. Luke had shown her that force was not the only way to achieve one's goal; much like the ways of her pack, Luke had helped her discover the true meaning of loyalty and friendship. It was no small task for a squirrel to stay with a wolf for so long, to develop a bound that exceeds all laws of nature. She wanted to tell him that she loved him.
The thought left her mind as her climax hit her unexpectedly. Luna let out a long howl as her cunt clamped down onto Luke's teasing cock, milking it. Luke came the same time Luna did, her walls sending him over the edge as he shot his load deep within the wolf's snatch. Luna panted heavily after the orgasm, hitting to stay awake, to tell Luke how she felt. But the journey through the snow had fatigued her greatly and after such a powerful orgasm, she slipped into a peaceful slumber. Luke slowly pulled out of Luna's pussy, dripping cum all over her leg. The squirrel tip-toed over to the wolf's muzzle and planted a kiss on her nose. Luke placed a paw on her cheek and, choking back a sob, whispered, "I love you, Luna."
Luke walked away from the wolf to allow her to get some rest. Luke glanced around the cave, gazing at the spring, the pile of leaves, and the two vulpines snuggled together. Luke gazed at Trixey and Kent, and immediately felt a sharp pain in his heart. "Kent and Trixey are smitten with each other, even though they just met," Luke thought to himself. "But they can do that, they can be together." The squirrel took another glance at the sleeping wolf, the one creature he loved the most, the one he would die for. "Me and Luna...we simply can't be together...I can never take the place of her mate," Luke thought as he wandered to the entrance to the cave. "If Luna could live if I gave my life, I would gladly die for her; but, would I sacrifice myself for her to escape, or simply so she wouldn't starve to death?" Luke walked outside of the cave and into the cold mountain air. The squirrel spied a tree in the distance, about a few yards away. As he approached the tree, he scurried up to the very top, trying to sort out his thoughts and emotions. "That's just the way it is," he concluded to himself, "she's a wolf, I'm a squirrel; we're not meant to be together. Luna would want pups, to find another wolf, another pack. It might be best if I just left," he sobbed to himself, "For Luna's sake. It's selfish of me to keep her to myself when she deserves to find another wolf." Luke wrapped his paws around his body, shivering in the cold, as he wept silently, all by himself.
Luke's depression was cut short when he heard some shouts from the mountain. The squirrel gazed at the entrance to Kent's lair and spied a group of humans storming out of the cave. With them, they had Kent, Trixey, and Luna, all bound inside some small wooden cages, completely helpless. "No!" thought Luke, "this can't be happening! How did they find us?" As if to answer Luke's question, a large, black canine appeared from out of the cave. At first glance, it looked like a large dog; but when Luke focused on it, he realized it looked more like a...no...it couldn't be.
Luna, Trixey, and Kent were shoved into a holding cell, filled with bits of straw and the smell of blood.
"What happened?" asked Kent.
"Where are we?" asked Trixey.
"Where's Luke?" asked Luna. The three frightened canines drew near the metallic bars that held them. All around them they could see humans, laughing at them, the skins and heads of many animals, racks of countless guns and knives, all adorned with an engraving of a bull's skull, and dozens of barrels filled with gunpowder. "No," Luna gasped; it was them, the ones that slaughtered her pack. They found her.
"But how?" she asked herself. Suddenly, the men started to disperse, leaving a large black dog in the center of the room, watching them. The dog loomed towards the cell, flashing its white fangs at the helpless creatures within. Kent and Trixey backed away, fearful of the large dog. Luna, however, stood still; her eyes welling up with tears and her mouth moving slightly, as if she was saying something. As the dog stood in front of them, all three of them realized it was no dog. It was a large, black wolf with a scar running down the side of his face. The wolf smirked and glared at Luna.
"Hello, lovely."
Oh, no! Luna, Trixey and Kent have been captured by the humans! What's worse, the one who helped them capture the Odd Company is none other than Luna's mate, Fang! What will happen now? What will Luke do? The answers to these questions and more in the next chapter of "Odd Company".
