Part one

Walking down the pathway leading down to the last monster to be sacrificed, I begin to remember how this all happened. That fight, that one fight I lost is the reason why I'm about to die here. Several roots graze across my face, breaking me out of my thoughts as the narrow dirt tunnel opens up into huge chamber. Eighteen torches are formed in a circle with a blue flame that would have scared the daylights out of me four months ago, but now provide small comfort.

the torches surround a small stone pedestal covered in symbols that been over grown with grass. In the center a stone throne sits with soft green moss covering it from top to bottom. My breath becomes heavier with each step towards it, tears well up in my eyes as I see I'm being lead to a small blood stain boulder. my legs go weak as I see a set of freshly stained dog tags lying next to it.

"he failed...." I say quietly to myself as I feel my shoulder holster digging into my shoulders under my camouflaged jacket. The scabs on my legs had long since torn open and streaks of blood runs down my legs to my blistered feet. Breathing heavily, I feel my last fragmentation grenade swaying heavily on the holster.

Reaching the stone, the two guards behind me force me down to my knees. Several droplets of blood land on the stone, the moment the droplets hit the stone a blinding green light fires up from the throne. clenching my eyes shut, a dark silhouette pierces through my lids. Opening my eyes, I see tall figure who legs are covered in dark green vines. I slip my hand into my jacket and wrap my fingers around my grenade.

"Failed at what, mortal?", The last part of the sentence spoken with a heavy lair of venom. The voice itself sounds ancients and deep female voice. just going by the legs and feet, the voice seems to match. The entire chamber is devoid of sound, aside from my heavy breathing.

"This...", Is all I say before pulling the pin on the grenade and count down the time for the explosion. Looking up at her, I smile when I see her face. My smile broadens when I see it the target, even as anger etched it way across her face. I roll the ticking hand bomb at her feet, knowing that I would not survive this.

"Which scientist made you?", I ask so I know which one to go after in the afterlife.

For an instant, a look of surprise dashes through her eyes. Her foot raises up and slams down hard. A brief crunch of metal rings out, looking down I see my last grenade disappeared under her foot. The ground itself shifts and churns under it, before going still again. she raises her foot again, revealing nothing is left of the grenade.

"...your the one who rescued my general from them.", She says in an almost tender tone of voice. A look of shock dominates my face as I continue to look at the spot on the ground. My state of shock is interrupted when soft green grass begins growing around me. looking around Dumbfounded as a thick layer of soft moss grow up under me. I finally look up to her, a look asking why your being nice to me fills my eyes.

"No, I didn't. I only provided a distraction when he busted out and came face to face with the with the soldiers there. he rescued me, I was overwhelmed from the lack of weapons and armor.", I say as I let my head hang in shame.

"Not from what he told me, he told me something completely different. Took on a hundred men by yourself and managed to kill half of them before getting in juried. You lost the use of your left arm from that injury, but still kept fighting.", She says with an even tone of voice, a subtle hint of a congratulation tone in it.

"Enough, please. I don't care if he said that it happened that way, it didn't.", I start, but is cut off.

"you calling my general a liar? Someone that I trust to lead my army into battle. A Warrior, who fought countless wars for your kind behalf.", she says with barely contained anger and disgust as she glares at me.

"He is lying, I didn't kill all of them. The wolves took them down, all I did was run for my life. I was being hunted down by the wolves the scientist made, they escaped the lab into the forest nearby.", I manage to say before going silent as my mind races to go back through everything that happened. It desperately tries to process the new information it was given, trying to distinguish the lies from the true. Her foot slams down right in front of me, the ground shaking violently as I fall backwards.

"then tell me, boy, how did you get involved in this story then.", she says in a dark, deep tone of voice that suggest she mere seconds away from killing me.

"I brought my friends out camping with me to help me map out the area that I just purchased for myself.
