A poem of home

A poem I wrote in one of my frequent bouts of homesickness.

To taste old tastes

To smell old scents

To hear sounds once familiar, half forgotten

Mind's wonder and senses delight

Nature's bounty and home soil

The familiar yet strange

The strange yet familiar,

change stations

Robin for Sparrow,

and squirrel for Possum.

Snow in winter and mild summer

BBC, Pounds & Pence

The Shires and history bountiful

Ai Aniron

Wild goose home to roost shall come

Ne'er parted ere the end.
