*Timon's voice once again broke the peaceful silence that was serene*
"Sheesh, I don't know about you guys but I'm gonna take a bath." He stated, the fur from his waist on below saturated with both Simba's seed and Nala's sexual fluids to the point where he wondered if he'd ever get the smell of the pair off of him; though he honestly wouldn't have minded always having a reminder of this encounter. The others couldn't help but laugh at this comment, and they quickly made their way towards the nearby river to freshen up.
The rest of the morning was spent playfully dunking one another beneath the gentle current of the waters, splashing around and general aquatic merriment until hunger prompted them to search for some more grub for lunch. Nala proudly led them to the log she had earlier discovered that was ripe with the slimy and satisfying creatures, and they quickly dug in. Once their bellies were full and they lay beneath the cool shade of the jungle Nala's thoughts again turned to her homeland, her smile fading as she recalled the troubles that her mother and others were likely still suffering at the paws of the dark maned lion.
Turning her gaze to her best friend, who seemed rather happy as he lounged a short distance away, her green eyes watering up with tears. It was Pumba that noticed her expression, his own usually carefree face shifting to one of concern. "What's wrong Nala? Did you eat a fire beetle or something?"
The innocent warthog inquired, thinking that the spicy treat was causing her to tear up seeing as it was often enough to tear him up if he ate one too many. She quickly closed her eyes and tried to wipe the moisture away, but by then the others had also taken note and quickly circled her, voicing their own questions as to whether she was ok.
"Simba, you are the rightful king, how can you live here while your pride suffers so?" She blurted out, fresh tears welling up in her eyes as she gazed at Simba. Timon and Pumba, who had no earthly idea that their young friend was royalty, let their jaws drop at the revelation as she confronted him. Simba scowled rather suddenly, his brows furrowing in defiance as she challenged him. His own eyes became somewhat blurry as he fought to hide his own tears from the group, a knot forming in his stomach from the still painful mental wounds caused by that fateful day flared within him.
"I told you I don't have any right to go back!" He roared in response, his claws unsheathing subconsciously to churn the soft soil beneath him. "Not after what happened....." He continued, no longer able to hide his tears as they ran down his cheeks.
"So you would let everyone there suffer under Scar's rule?" Nala retorted, this time she wasn't about to let her questions go unanswered. "Scar has joined the hyena pack with the pride, and it's killing the lands.......and that's not the worst of it." She said, her fore-legs trembling as she spoke. Simba was startled to hear that his uncle had merged the hyena with the pride, but that was nothing compared to what she said next. She continued to talk about how things were back at Pride Rock, including the sexual abuse that she and the rest of the lioness suffered at the paws of the canines, all with his uncle's blessing. By the time she was finished with this Timon and Pumba were flabbergasted, and Simba was in tears of pain as he heard vivid details on how his mother had been abused by Scar and the hyena. However his position had yet to be swayed, his teary brown eyes still defiant.
"It's my fault dad's dead!" He yelled, pain filling his voice as merely stating it was almost enough to make him throw up in disgust, but he somehow managed to keep his meal down before continuing. "If I hadn't been in the gorge dad would never have had to save me, and he'd still be alive! I'm the reason that this happened, that's why I can't go back!" He cried, every muscle in his body tensed as he confessed to her the truth, which had caused Nala to tuck her tail between her legs in shock, her body quivering as she took in what her friend said.
"Uh Simba......." Pumba asked after a few moments of silence, causing everyone to cast their emotional gaze to the warthog in a very unpleasant manner. The sudden stares caused the man to shrink down a bit, the next question coming out in a very soft and submissive tone.
"Why were you in the gorge in the first place?" He asked, and that simple innocent question caused Simba to relent a bit, his gaze softening.
"Uncle Scar had a present for me, but the stampede happened before he could give it to me." He said, the answer falling from his lips casually, not seeing the importance of the minor detail. However Nala's gaze widened drastically upon hearing this, as if a switch had been flicked within her head. Before anyone could ask another question she quickly rose and took a few surprisingly bold steps towards her prince.
"Simba, what do you think Scar had for you?" She asked, a fierce look upon her face as she confronted him. "I don't know, he didn't get a chance to show me!" He snapped, before turning away and starting to wander off back towards the river. Nala was having none of that, and so she quickly bounded ahead and cut him off.
"Your uncle is an evil manipulative bastard, what makes you think he didn't plan that stampede to get you? What if he wanted you and Mufasa dead so he could assume the throne?" She said, her words stopping the young prince cold as he took in her words. If that was true, then his father's death was not his fault at all, the blood of Mufasa would be on Scar's paws and not his own. Stunned the child had to sit down, fresh tears filling his gaze as he wrestled with this new theory.
"Y'know kid, I think she may be on to something. Not that I know this Scar guy...." Came the ever calm voice of Timon, trotting up beside the lion and patting him gently on his shoulder. "But from what she told us about how he's running the place, wouldn't put something like that past him." He continued, trying his best to console the young lion.
When the realization finally struck Simba that the pain and guilt he'd been harboring may very well have been for nothing he let out a moanful sob, tears of both relief at finally thinking himself innocent of patricide and pain at being so decived by his uncle. Pumba and Nala quickly nuzzled against the crying cub as he sobbed, no more words being said as they let him release his sorrow the only way he knew how. It took a half hour or so before Simba had collected himself, and when he did he had a look of anger the likes of which none of his friends had seen before.
"We're going back Nala, and I'm going to kill Scar." He said, a dangerous growl rising soon afterwards as his anger began to take hold. "And then I'm going to cut Banzai's sheath off and jam it up his......." He started to say, when Nala quickly interupted.
"No! Don't do that to Banzai!" She said, the statement causing all three of the others to look at her rather confused. "I know he did bad things to me, and I don't understand it myself.....but I don't want him hurt." She confessed, this time it was her stomach that was turning into knots as she spoke. "I-I want him......I want him to mate me......"She stammered, drawing even more confused looks from the others; a gasp coming from Pumba at her statement. "I don't love him.....not like you Simba.....but I want him for myself. I want him to mate me, under my terms. He can't get me pregnant.....and even though he's a nasty selfish hyena he makes me feel good......and I kinda like it. "She finished, her tail wrapping around her haunches nervously as she laid her feelings bare for the others.
"Well, if that's what you want Nala I'll see that he isn't hurt, at least not down there." Simba promised, before starting to make his way off towards his homeland. However he didn't get two steps until Timon scurried ahead and blocked his path.
"Oy kid, I know you want revenge, but I doubt your uncle is just gonna hand over the kingdom to you. After all, you're still a cub, and he's a big bad grown lion." He said, the logic of the meerkat taking some of Simba's bravado away as he now looked uncertain. He was right, how could Simba ever hope to defeat his uncle when he was still far larger and stronger.
"There has to be a way, we just gotta find it." He replied, grasping at his words to try and fill himself up with hope that he actually stood a chance of winning the coming fight. It was Nala's turn to smile, a devious idea forming within her mind.
"I think I have a way, but we'll need you guys to help us." She said, gesturing to the meerkat and the warthog. The duo merely smiled towards her and gave her a firm salute, bringing a smile to the two lion's faces before she began explaining her idea
