Chapter 4: The Serpent Goddess of Morningwood

"Would you like some cheese with that whine? We talked about this before. If you don't stop the conquest of the Overlord, your sexy friends are going to suffer a fate slightly worse than being Hogereign's sex slave," Night countered.

"Yes, but only barely," Night admitted. Shadina sighed in resignation. If she could prevent such a horrid thing from happening to such sexy friends as Sierra and the Cheetah Sisters, then she had to do it. She couldn't forgive herself otherwise.

"Alright, so where is this 'Morningwood' place?" Shadina asked.

"To the east, of course." Night replied. "You'll have to pass through the actual Morning Woods first, before you arrive at the city, but I think you've been through worse places."

With that, the panthress departed, traveling to the eastern gate of the city, and stepping out from there. To Shadina's delight, the landscape once again spread out before her, the entire city of Noctup looking like little more than a model at her feet. Even from this great vantage, she could only barely make out the very edge of the Morning Wood on the Eastern horizon. With steps that devoured leagues at a time, she made her way towards it.

Three quarters of the way to the edge of the Woods, however, Shadina's journey was rudely interrupted. The feeling of reality wavering was rather familiar to the panthress by now, and she found herself once again at her normal height, face to face with an odd figure. He was reptilian, with pearly white scales in the few places they could be seen. Mostly, he was covered in polished steel plates, wielding a gleaming sword. He stood with practiced, gallant grace, like a sworn guard or protector.

"I'm sorry, miss, but the Overlord has decreed that none may pass this way, though exceptions can be made for those willing to wear the white robes of his order, and behave in a chaste manner." the lizard man told Shadina. She blinked in confusion.

"Chased? Chased by who?" she inquired.

"No, miss. Chaste. Refraining from sexual activity. You must swear to be celebate." he told her. Her eyes went wide in shock.

"You've got to be kidding! What kind of monster are you?! I get it now... You are SO going down!" Shadina declared.

"Must I slay you, harlot? If so, then so be it." He flourished his sword in readiness.

"He may feel all cocky, but he's male, and he's in my world now," Night said, almost more to herself. Shadina bared her teeth at the raptorish opponent.

"That sounds a little painful, what will it do?"

"You'll see," Night replied. Shadina nodded, then focused her attention back on the knight.

"Alright, if you're submitting to me... remain on hands and knees and face away from me." she ordered. The knight grimaced and did as commanded. "Now raise your tail." He did so. Shadina approached and found the upper edge of his lower garments. Gripping them securely, she tugged, and as if they were little more than an illusion, they pulle cleanly off the reptilian knight's body, leaving his hips bare. He grunted in surprise at his sudden exposure.

"Why must you humiliate me so? Was not my defeat embarrassment enough?" he demanded.

"Shut up and relax. Take some deep breaths and close your eyes," Shadina ordered. Shadina could see dark tendrils of shadowy magic slithering down the length of the staff into the knight's rear, and it was visibly changing him. The attacks of monsters resumed their typical pace, and Shadina found that battling as a Seduction Mage was different from her old style. They've even sealed the temple to our goddess. I was going to Noctup to see if I could get help for a reconquest, but it had been so long since I was fucked... I just had no energy..." Talon told her. Shadina nodded sagely.

"Yeah, that really sucks. Well, I'm the reinforcements you were looking for. I guess I'm on some holy quest or something from the goddess Night to come save your town or something, so rest assured and leave it all to me," the panthress replied. Talon blinked in surprise.

"You're gonna take it on alone? You may be a decent seduction mage, but they have nasty monsters and ruthless soldiers... and some of them aren't even sexy..." Talon answered skeptically.

"Well, give me some credit. I'm not a total noob. I've had my fair share of scraps. I've gained some levels. Besides, I got the power of Night on my side. I've even got two of her artifacts. I'll be fine," Shadina reassured her. Talon shook her head.

"I'm going with. I'm a guardian of Morningwood, a strong fighter, and I'm not just going to sit back and fuck while someone else saves my hometown. Besides, I owe you for the timely screw," Talon stated determinedly. Shadina shrugged in response.

"Well, no one said I HAD to do this alone, I guess. If a sexy reppie girl who might also be a good fighter wants to join me on my quest, I'm all for it," Shadina answered. She thought silently to Night "It's true, though, right? I don't have to do this alone?"

"Not only need you not do this alone, but I'd rather that you did bring Talon along. Not only is she talented in combat, she has a big destiny awaiting her as well," Night replied.

"Then it's settled. If you really have the power of Night behind you, then lets go show these sadistic bastards what for!" Talon said. Just like that, Shadina felt a little more bonded with Talon, and the raptoress fell in behind her, following her every step with amazing precision as the two began to continue through the forest to the town at its eastern edge. Having Talon along quickly proved very useful, as she could dispatch the sexless little monsters with one kick of her powerful legs or one rake of her talons. This was made even more useful as it became apparent that those sorts of beasties were the only ones they were encountering, and they were showing up in greater numbers.

Finally, they reached the entrance to the town of Morningwood. At the gate, they found two tall, robed figures who seemed a bit rotund under their robes. Deep cowls obscured their faces, however. As the two approached, one held of a thick, black-furred hand.

"Visitors to Morningwood, the town has decreed a new law. Everyone in town is required to wear these stylish new undergarments," one of the hooded figures proclaimed as the other one held up a pair of briefs that had a bit too much metal in its design for Shadina's liking. "Wearing this is not only fashionable here, but also shows your admiration for the goddess Anaconda, so please allow us to accessorize you for your visit to Morningwood."

"Don't let them put that on you!" Talon hissed in Shadina's ear. "You can't take it off without the key, and only their leader has it!" Shadina grinned. To Talon's horror, she nodded to the robed figures and turned back to Talon briefly.

"Just go with it. I got this covered. We'll get past these bozos and find this leader and take him out. No need to draw attention to ourselves too quickly." she whispered to Talon. Talon reluctantly agreed, and the robed figures snapped the garments into place around the groins of the two female visitors.

"Be well, and please enjoy your visit to Morningwood," the greeter told them. The two proceeded inside and looked around. The streets were unusually empty. Occassionally, in some back alley, they'd find a raptor, lamia or lizard whimpering, clawing at thier metal underwear and crying out for sex. As they passed by the blacksmith shop, a male raptor was tossed from the shop to land heavily on the ground with a whimper, and an armored enforcer, not unlike the one Shadina had fought on the road stepped out of the shop.

"The smithy is closed. The belts don't come off until the high priest says they come off," the enforcer told the raptor, and with a glance of his eye, made it clear that the message was for Shadina and Talon as well. The raptor moaned in pain and frustration. The two heroines gritted their teeth at all the suffering they beheld, but continued on, determined to get to the heart of the problem. Search as they might, the high priest the soldier had spoken of was nowhere to be found. Instead, they turned their attention to the temple of Anaconda, certain that if the seal was released, the goddess would visit her wrathon those who had imprisoned her and oppressed her most loyal followers.

In short order, the two reached the massive temple. It rested in the middle of a small grove on the edge of a river that flowed past the town. The temple was covered in greens and blues, and covered in motifs of giant serpents, often entwined in copulation. The gate to the temple was enormous, and closed. A glowing metal seal bound the two massive doors shut.

"Now what? And how do you plan to get us out of these accursed belts?" Talon asked. Shadina grinned smugly. She rubbed her hands together.

"Watch and learn." She reached for Talon's belt and gripped it in her hands, then tugged. With the power of the Harpy's Gloves, she removed the belt instantly, making it insubstantial for a moment as it pulled away from Talon's body, leaving the black raptoress naked, as she preferred to be. The panthress then repeated the proceedure on herself, though it wasn't quite as easy. "There, now we're free of that heavy metal, but we still don't know how to break this seal." she muttered.

"Nor will you ever!" came a deep. masculine voice behind them. Looking back, they saw a large, thick figure in white robes. His robes were more orname than those of the shrouded figures from the gate, and his cowl was down, to the horror of the two heroes. It was obviously the face of a rhino with off-white hide an a pearlescence to his horn. "My master, the Overlord told me to be suspicious of strangers arriving at the town, that they may seek to unseal that loathsome goddess and unleash her filth back upon the world, and so I've been waiting for you. Here, at the doorstep to your serpentine savior, you will perish in your futile effort to halt our purification of your world. Behold the face of your destroyer!"

He raised his hands grandly, and there was a bright flash filling the air between him and the two shocked heroines. When the flash faded a huge pink ball of fluff with massive watery eyes, cute white feathery wings, and four stubby feet with long talons hovered inexplicably in the air before them. Shadina estimated that the thing had to be at least twelve feet in diameter, if not a bit larger.

"Oh goddess, it's hideous!" Talon exclaimed.

"No kidding. Making it bigger only made it more ugly," Shadina agreed.

"Say what you will, dirty, promiscuous infidels, but the Puff Princess will cleanse this world of your filth forever! Rejoice that your land of darkness and corruption will someday soon see the light and the purity that comes with it! Such a fate is too good for the likes of you, however! Say farewell!" the high priest proclaimed from behind Puff Princess.

"Man, that guy can monologue," Shadina grumbled.

"No kidding," Talon agreed.

Before the high priest could rant any more, reality shifted as Shadina, Talon and Puff Princess were pulled into the battle. They stood face to face in an even larger looking version of the temple courtyard, with no one around to interrupt the fight.

"This is a nasty boss, and your sex magic isn't going to work on it. It's time to get serious and merge again," Night informed Shadina.

"So what's the plan?" Talon asked, watching the huge puffball nervously.

"Hit it with your best shot, see if you can keep it distracted for a moment while I get my serious game on," Shadina told her. Talon nodded and took her turn, giving the Princess a hard talon rake. Puff Princess winced, but seemed mostly unphased.

"Man, that would have killed one of the smaller ones flat out," Talon said. "But this one barely noticed." Puff Princess counterattacked Talon, who dodged it nimbly.

"Alright, here goes! Shadow Merge!" Shadina cried, and she felt the rush of power as she and Night became one once more, though it was stronger this time, since she had both the Shadow Bra and the Harpy's Gloves. Her body grew and swelled to ten feet tall, her legs shifting to look more like Talon's own, her tail becoming thicker and longer, her body becoming more muscular, especially in the legs, and two rows of shadowy tentacles, like wings, emerged from her back and waved in the air behind her. Talon looked upon this in wonder, squirming a bit at the sight of it.

"Damn, that's kinky," she said, admiring the transformed panthress. Shadina grinned that smug grin again.

"Isn't it, though? I love this," she told Talon. Privately, she suddenly flashed back to the dream she'd had back in Noctup. Words she hadn't recalled clearly upon waking suddenly echoed in her head crystal clear: 'I will give you the power that Night has denied you.' For a moment, she was all but paralyzed in confusion and indecision, but this moment was quickly brought to an end as Puff Princess raked her claws through the transformed panthress's being, causing her serious pain.

"Get your head out of the clouds! It's your turn!" Talon cried to her. Shadina-Night grunted and nodded, and gave Puff Princess a talon-raking kick of her own, doing serious damage to the creature, if Shadina was interpreting the numbers that appeared over its head correctly.

The fight wore on, and Puff Princess proved to be able to take a fair load of damage, and dish it out as well, but between their strength, agility and healing potions, Shadina and Talon finally managed to defeat the massive, asexual puffball. Finally, they returned to reality to find a shocked high priest who gazed at Shadina's transformed state in horror. He pointed the finger of a badly shaking arm at her accusingly.

The doors flew open, and a wash of bluish energy, rolling like a flash flood, rushed from the door and over the town. As the two heroes watched, every invader touched by it vanished in a bright white flash, and every chastity belt melted away as if corroded by powerful acid .

The miracles from within the temple did not cease, however. A second flood, this time of snakes, slithered out into the town, and saught out the inhabitants.
