The Chamber Pt. 1
The Chamber Pt.1 By: Silverback Christianpaw In the kingdom of Egnim, King Prash was growing old in age and decided to leave his entire kingdom to his two children, Darius and Maran. When he died the two young lions got the kingdom and were going to run it together. But differences tore them apart and as a result split the kingdom in two. Darius used the name "Prash" in tribute to his late father for his kingdom while his brother named his after himself, "Maran". King Maran was very unorthodox and decided to create his own laws and standards. He created a huge castle for himself and got soldiers, and cooks, and slaves for himself. One young wolf pup was found eating celery out of the King's Garden by a soldier. He was taken to King Maran and was made into the King's personal slave. In the law of Maran you had to be at least 18-years-old to legally have sexual intercourse, and once a Maranian has sexual intercourse with another, they are officially married. King Maran wanted to keep him as his personal slave, and he was going to wait til the young wolf's 18th birthday to do it . . . Silverback's dark cloak was wrapped tight around him as he slowly rode on his horse through Maran. It was a beautiful day outside but he never felt comfortable having to pass through his enemy's kingdom. King Maran wasn't too uncomfortable with Prash's warriors passing through as long as they didn't cause any trouble and made themselves scarce, hence the black cloak. The big, strong blue wolf looked up at the kings castle as he rode along the path. Very tall, much taller than what King Darius had built for himself. Walls of beautiful silverstone brick and the strongest tree-sap in the land to keep it together. Truly remarkable. He rode past the main gate where two guards in suits of armor were standing. Silverback was very happy to had advanced from guard duty and was now the strongest warrior in the kingdom of Prash. There was rumor that since King Darius never had children that he would be the next in the line for the throne. But he wasn't too thrilled about the idea of being king. He was more into just living each day in peace and harmony for he believed his soul was built to shine bright and stay pure. One thing that he did want was a mate, another male to share his life with, go through experiences with, and even grow old with. But there wasn't a lot of eligible game for him since he had to keep his sexuality a secret. Only King Darius knew that he was gay and immediately told him to keep it secret. The mightiest warrior in the kingdom of Prash is gay? Preposterous! It cannot happen. That's what the king said to him. So he's kept it under his hat ever since. The warrior looked up at the right tower like he has many times, this was going to be a quick stop again while he was in the kingdom but he would have to be careful not to get caught by any of the guards. He left his horse next to a wall that was well hidden in the shadows next to the trees. He took the rope he brought from the horse and quickly tied the scaling hook to it. He looked up and could see the window was directly above him and threw the hook up to the window. The hook connected and was safe and secure as he made sure the cloak was still wrapped tight around him as he made the climb. Up and up his strong arms and legs could climb faster than any feline in the land, even faster than any of the smaller, more swift wolves that he trained with. He made it to the top and took a quick peek to see a silver wolf. He was laying in his bed sleeping with a book opened up and laid out on his chest. Silverback quietly perched himself up onto the window and tried to step down quietly. The steel of his boots clanged as the big wolf landed, but not loud enough to wake the sleeping wolf. He wrapped the rope up quick and laid it by the window. He walked over to the young wolf, his steel boots making heavy thuds as he made his way to the bed. He couldn't help but stare at the silver wolf sleeping so soundly and feared to wake him from his slumber, but he knew if he didn't get the chance to see him it would make his day sad. He gently shook him. The silver wolf opened his hazel eyes and looked up at the big blue wolf in the dark cloak. "Hehe, you woke me up," the silver wolf said with a smile as he stretched. "Sorry Zero, I had to come see you since I was passing through, I'm sorry I woke you." "Hehe it's okay, I'd rather be woken up by you than to one of Maran's guards." Silverback nodded. "Hehe, let me see you handsome, I don't want to see you all covered up like a black ghost." He followed up with Zero's request. Silverback was a very big wolf, extremely tall but not lengthy. His legs were big and thick like tree trunks and were protected by a strong black fabric covered with a warrior's skirt made out of strong bird feathers with nearly impenetrable black leather and a chain-link skirt that was given to him by King Darius himself. The steel boots he wore were too thick and heavy for any regular Prashan warrior, but for Silverback's size and strength they were no problem at all to him. His triple stitched black belt was his personal touch, paying tribute to King Conan and was perfect to carry his sword. The sharpest steel in many kingdoms that was deadly to the touch and was another gift from King Daruis' personal collection. His cast iron paws kept his paws protected in battle but the rest of his body wasn't covered. He kept his arms and chest completely bare to try and intimidate his enemies even before the fight starts as well as comfort. "Mmmm, you look good, handsome." Silverback blushed, "Whatcha reading?" he asked Zero. Zero looked at the book before marking it with a tassel and closed it, "Oh, it's one of my favorites, "Out of Position" by Kyell Gold, I've already read through it once but I just had to read it again (might as well plug the book, it's a great read). "Hehe, you and your romance novels," Silverback murmured. "Hey, it's homoerotica, and I can't find too much of that in this land, so I'll gladly take what I can get, besides it's a great story." Silverback giggled. "Besides," he sits up out of bed showing off his warm purple pajamas, "I need something to take my mind off of things." "Things? Like what?" Silverback sat down on the bed next to him. "Well . . . in two days . . . it's my birthday," his ears lowered. "Hehe well that's great! Happy Birthday pup!" Silverback goes for a hug but Zero stops him. "You don't understand, It's not a good thing. It's going to be my 18th birthday and . . . according to Maran law I am now of legal age to marry." Silverback's ears perked up, "Really now?" "Yeah and I fear that King Maran may try to use that to keep me here. You see, he's even told me that I am his favorite servant and he's been reminding me that my 18th birthday was coming up and he said that he was going to marry me like he's married some of the other people that work for him so that he can't lose them. "Well tell him that you refuse to go to the wedding, or does it not work like that here?" Silverback hesitated for a second but started rubbing Zero on the back. "No wedding. In Maran all you have to do is have sex one time and you are officially married, King Maran made that law a couple of years ago. And he said if I don't do it then I'll get thrown . . . into the chamber," he shudders. "The Chamber?" Silverback said with one ear up. "Yeah, the chamber. He showed it to me when I was a pup shortly after I was found. I don't remember too much about it; I haven't seen it again since then. All I remember is seeing black walls and it had a smell to it, it smelled like . . . like death." He put his paws over his face, "It scares me so much." "Aww, I'm sorry hun." "Yeah, I don't know what to do." Suddenly both their ears perked up as they heard two guys walking up the stairs, talking to each other as they made their way up. "Oh no, you better get out of here now! If any of Maran's men see you then they will--" "Don't worry." Silverback quickly put his cloak back on and unraveled his rope and perched up on the window, "Disconnect the hook in exactly five seconds," he said and he started sliding down the rope. "Okay." Zero whispered. Silverback slid down the rope and hit the ground with a thud. Two seconds later the hook to the rope hit the ground right after him. He quickly ran to his horse and got back on and rode his way out of Maran. He looked at his steel paws now having marks on them. He clinched the steel-covered paw in anger and hit himself in the head out of frustration. He was hoping that this was going to be a perfect oppurtunity to tell Zero about how he feels about him because it was perfect. Nice and sunny day, a surprise visit, no wars or missions going on, it was perfect. Only now it wasn't. He did always wonder when Zero was going to be released from King Maran's power, but now it looks like he never will . . . no, no he wouldn't let himself think like that, there had to be a way to get Zero out so he can slip out of the grip of the sickening King Maran. He just needed to figure out a way, but he had to think fast, Zero's birthday was in only two days, and with how much King Maran is reminding him of it, it doesn't sound like something that the King was going to take lightly.
Silverback rode back into Prash without hesitation as he came up on King Darius' training camp. Silverback's steel armor boots crushed the sand as he tied up his horse and walked through the soldier's training camp. For King Darius demanded his strongest warrior for a big mission. "King Darius, you wanted to see me?" he asked . "Yes," he said as they walked past a small group of soldiers sword-sparring with each other. King Darius wore his robe of reds and blacks professionally painted for him by his personal wardrobe specialists. It matched his dark golden-brown fur and red shiny mane, "An atrosity is arising on the other land. My brother, King Maran I believe is up to another dispicable deed, and this one is far too important to keep quiet." "What is it my lord?" They both walk into a maroon-colored tent. Inside lies a darkwood table with a big scroll lying on display. Darius opens it to a map, "One of our men was able to draw a diagram of my brother's main castle, but something up here concerns me," he said as he pointed to a little window on the right tower. "What is your concern my lord, any task you know I am more than willing to take." He looks at the map and takes a deep breath, "I believe we have a big oppurtunity to show who truly owns this kingdom. If this plan works it could definetly make an impact against him without using military force." "What do you have in mind, lord?" "We kidnap one of his men. Just someone, somebody he would miss, like one of his chefs, or the person that makes those ridiculous outfits he wears, ugh, repulsive. If we take one of his men out of my maniacal brother's clutches it will start to shift the balance between the lands." Silverback cleared his throat, "I've heard that his most prized servant lives in this tower," he says pointing to the top of the right tower, "If we rescue him then Maran will definetly know that I, uh, I mean you, mean business." "I like it! Wow Silverback, you've really done your research. Good job! That's why you're my number one warrior. But Silverback, no matter what we do the plan is going to be risky, I'm going to have to get my strategist to send some men in so we can find a way inside without suspiscion--" Silverback stepped up, "I will do it! Please let me do this my lord." He looks at his most prized warrior once again, this time with confusion, "I've never seen you so prepared or jumpy for an assignment before. Even your tail is wagging." Silverback looked behind him and for sure his tail was just wagging away. "Um, I'm just happy as always to serve you, my lord," he bowed his head. "Hehe my number one warrior, always by my side," he pats and gives him a lick on the cheek before going back to the scroll and closing it. "While I didn't want the land that our father gave to us to be divided like this, this is something that I will have to do. I've wanted us to reconcile our differences and just be one big happy family, reigning over our father's kingdom together like he had planned for us ever since we were cubs. Well, it's unfortunate that it had to come to this, but Silverback," he says looking up at the one warrior he can trust, "I would do anything to unite the kingdoms of Maran and Prash again and bring our family back together." Silverback bows had again, "Yes my lord." They both looked up as the sun started to set, "Alright my boy," he puts his paw on Silverback's shoulder and gives him another lick on the cheek, "I will get my strategist and we all will talk over what we are going to do to carry out this assignment. But now it's time for all of us to relax and enjoy the night. I will see you at banquet hall in a few hours for the feast. I bet your hungry," he said patting Silverback's strong but slightly flabby stomach. "Hehe yes, very much my lord," he said with his tail wagging and his muzzle drooling a little bit. "Alright see you then." Silverback bowed once more before heading into the castle and walking up to his room to take his armor off. Everything was actually falling in his favor. Zero was in trouble but that opened up the perfect chance to rescue him and bring him to Prash. This may just work out after all; he just needed to think of a plan on how to do it. "Looks like my work is cut out for me," he said to himself. "Hold on Zero, just two more days." TO BE CONTINUED . . .
