Road to Understanding
Part two
"You know they're going to come back." I could hear my son say. "But next this time they won't be so under prepared."
I ignored him for a moment because he was reciting what was being said in my mind. And I for one didn't need a reminder for it. Hell this is what I wanted for all this time they're going to play right into my hands. The crushing defeat we've given them, Tonya and her band won't be returning to Blackthorn for a while, and until then I'm going to have to make some preparations.
Max told me that Squirts was killed in the battle. Though his death may have been planned, I don't find this as much of a lost, but any wasted resource still irks me like nothing else. I immediately destroyed the body and would have to make plans on finding replacements for him. If I'm going to be able to continue to fight off my wife and the rest of the world I'll need to raise an army who understands.
"I'm assuming you must have a plan for this then, father?" Max asked.
"Of course I did. The Lugia wings that your sister gave me help me predict everything precisely so far, even up until Squirts death. I have a few candidates in mind who can take his place." I said walking towards the tower.
Personally I didn't even want this...disgusting eyesore constructed but it was Squirts and Max who came up with the idea of what to do with all of the dead bodies. They said it would strike total fear within any enemies that would try to come near the tower. Honestly I couldn't argue with them and it would give us a strategical advantage with any enemy, as it could be a distraction.
Looking at Max, who was wearily staring back at me, I could see nothing but success. It was hard for him to understand at first when I told him about my plans, hell it was hard for me to accept them, but in the end he submitted just as I had to. Right now I needed nothing more but cold hard efficiency, as we show the world that we are nothing to be trifled with and that we are a serious threat that all other issues must be halted before us.
I want to gain the attention of the world...then and only then...will they understand.
I made my way back to the tower and the thought of the small skirmish that Tonya and I had, came into my mind. I swear that that woman is going to be the death of me. Hell I guess I'd welcome that above all other possibilities of my death. But she couldn't stand to see her son hurt so she didn't really attack me, though when I removed her eye gave her a bit of incentive. And then she came at me with everything she had. In the end it didn't matter. She escaped and grabbed the kids with her and I decided to let her go.
These Lugia wing's infused with my suit have become more and more impressive the more I use them. They've given me a wide assortment of abilities such as: Flight, psychically enhanced manipulation, touch obliteration, and then my personal favorite future sight. I'm starting to wonder why I haven't done this sooner.
"Father, I want to talk to you." Max said demandingly.
I was still gazing at the tower and was readying myself to enter. I'd rather not talk out here personally, my senses had been heighten to a legendary status, so that mean that my smell was as well, and the dead bodies made things quite unpleasant.
"Phoenix knows everything, you know." He said. "She's going to tell them everything."
"Let us discuss this inside Max." I said. "We don't need, to have ourselves exposed so unnecessarily outside."
He simply nodded and only with a thought from my mind, the wings actually formed an invisible bridge that ran up into the tower. We both started to make the climb into the tower; the only thing that was on my mind was that things couldn't have been going more perfectly. The only thing that I need was more power...I guess for anyone to understand anybody that person would need more power or else they'd be looked over and ignored. I was going to have the world understand me and I was going to acquire the power to do so.
When I first got these wing I thought they'd be a curse, but the more I use them the stronger I become and the more I realize that they are a blessing rather. My genius is unparalleled and these wings are the proof of that, when it comes to understanding Pokémon. The fusion of them with my body had been an extraordinary event that any doctor or professor of my field would kill to understand. But my knowledge is only reserved for those who are willing to give their lives for this cause. The suit adjusted the wings to adapt themselves with my body and made them my own. I couldn't control them at first but after some time I would learn to.
Finally making our way to the top of the tower door slid open. Max was right on my heels like a child starving for attention.
"Now do you mind talking?" He asked.
I still was ignoring him until I was fully inside of the building. I could really unwind when I'm inside of here simply because there was absolutely no way for anyone from the outside to interfere with what's happening inside. The main defense for the build was a quantum barrier placed around it. It's the most solidly built fortresses in the world, as all attacks of any kind whether they be physical, mental, elemental, or even hacked would be warded off. The physical attacks would actually make a quantum leap to the other side of the building rendering it unharmed, same as elemental. And for the psychics and hackers...well they can't mess with anything that isn't there. From the second I step inside this building I am actually stepping inside of a pocket dimension of my own design.
None of this would be remotely possible without my advanced technology or the wings of the Lugia. I think I really should thank Rebecca for them. Hell if it weren't for her some of these things wouldn't be possible either. My study of psychics and the manipulation of object through this suit have allowed me to achieved things that would have been otherwise normally impossible. Most importantly of all, my end goal.
The room we entered was basically the central hub of the tower. The room was dark saved for a few LED lights that lit up the certain areas of the room where the machines were still running. The first step in the room is all that it took to illuminate it brightly. It was solid white and nearly blinding to the eye but my eyes could rapidly adjust to any light setting.
"Okay Max what did you want to talk about?" I said finally giving him my attention. I could already guess what it concerned.
"What you think just because we came inside that's going to change the subject. Phoenix knows everything!" He shouted.
"Max, what do you think they can possibly do to us?" I replied with a question. "There are some other modifications I need to make to the tower. That way if anyone was to attack us not only will the assault be rendered harmless, but I can absorb the energy from it as well."
He cocked his head to one side in curiosity and confusion. "Absorb the attack for what? We have all that we need right here and is about to gain more power with the new influx of Pokémon we're going to get."
It was amusing to see that he still thought on a small scale, but understandable. "You know people tend to put out more power than Pokémon. A bomb from humans contain more energy than several legendary Pokémon combine. Humans technology is so great that simply wiping all Pokémon from the face of the earth would be only a small matter."
Max grew quiet when he heard those words.
"See Pokémon are actually going to end up as a thing of the past if I don't do something about it Max." I then stepped closer to him. "Our mission here is not to conquer the world..."
"I know it's to make the world understand, by using this tower." He then stepped to the side and began to walk away. "I'll be in my quarters if you need me."
I allowed him to walk away without another word. I only told Max so much about my plans, but he didn't know everything. The plans I have for the future and the key people that are going to play a role within it are going to unfold soon, but I need to set things up first.
Unfolding my wings I held my left arm up and a hologram of a computer screen came up. Hacking reality was never easy and was going to take a considerable amount of time, but out of necessity had to be done. I could only affect the tower only but that also meant the entire tower itself. Essentially I'm reconfiguring the tower for whenever its attacked by anything I'll acquire the energy or payload and convert it to my own. Thus, creating a form of method of obtaining power even from bullets and the kinetic energy that they use.
This however was always a part of my plans as was the last battle. The destruction of this city played its part as it will soon attract the attention of the military. And when they come they will be carrying a walking package of death and energy all for me to use without having to lift a finger.
I started typing on the holographic screen with my mind and drew a map that laid the foundation for how the tower was going to perform. It would probably be a while before tower have everything ready, but both Max and I are going to need to start making our move and soon. I could guess when the military would show up and try to capture and kill me, but I'm going to be long gone before then. In the meantime Max can rest and reflect on the things he's done and make sure that with all conviction he's making the right choice. Either way at the end of the day I can only see my triumph regardless if he's with me or not.
Two hours went by before I knew it and I was beginning to put the finishing touches on the quantum computer. The only thing now was to have it set everything in motion and in a couple of hours everything will be ready. The only thing I would have to do now is to replace Squirts and gather more energy required for the tower.
In truth saying those things and doing it are two completely different topics, many Pokémon may be harmed in the process but again the means justify the end.
Standing up from my chair I looked over towards the other side of the room and suddenly what looked to be a set of blinds open and reveal as to what was going on outside. The view only held the sight of the destroyed city and the storming clouds that were forming near.
I guess that now would be a perfect time to leave. I turned around and headed out of the room and to where Max was. This entire tower was constructed with quantum physics and literally walking into another room was stepping into another pocket space. If someone or something were to come into this tower uninvited well...one they'd be stuck here for the rest of eternity or two they could leave in whatever magical way they used to get here.
When I came into the other room I saw Max lying on a bed that was almost too small for himself. He was just staring at the wall that had a large picture of Krystal sitting on it. I guess he really loved that girl..., but I do not regret the actions I have taken. In the end...just wait until the end. That's when everything we have been sacrificing will bloom into the most beautiful flower.
"You know it's funny how I've been dead for so long...just nobody told me." He said somberly. "Hydro had left her in a pretty bad state when they fought. Hell I guess I don't have that much time left either."
I had recently found that Hydro had not been completely erased from the mind of that Feraligatr, but instead sealed. Now that the seal was broken Hydro is going to reclaim his body. I say Max have no longer than a few months left...if he's lucky. If I were to try and take Hydro out of the Feraligatr's mind, Max would be turned into a vegetated state. That's mainly due to the fact that Hydro has grown so large within the mind and since they both occupy the mind, taking one out by force would be like taking half of the brain.
"Son that's why we are going to make the most of that time." I said. "Preparations are complete now the only thing left is to go out and start recruiting."
He nodded, "the last thing I want everyone in this world to do is understand. Father your plan has better work or all the people and Pokémon up until now and further in the future deaths will be for nothing." He stood up and walked over to where I was and huffed in discontent.
Like I needed a lecture from my son about what I'm doing. He was just upset with the fact that Hydro took control of his body when they fought against Tonya and her band of rejects. But before all of this is over I swear I will be paying Alexander a visit.
We made our way to the top floor of the facility and with a thought a door formed itself in front of us, it opened and a large vacuum followed suit.
"We fly to the Bell Tower, from there our first recruit lies." I said.
"Is it possible for us to obtain such power easily?" Max foolishly asked.
I shook my head in disapproval, "Max, small minded boy obtaining any power never comes easy. Just with the tools at our disposal we are more...able for the challenge." I then sighed and started to levitate myself and fly out of the tower. I could hear the wings to Max's Kyurem suit activate and with a huge flap he was right behind me.
My mind soon turned to the job at hand. The thing about my wings was that they always showed me the aftermath of what event that has happened. When we fought against Tonya and those kids, the wings only showed me standing on top of the tower looking at them run away in defeat. And that Squirt corpse was lying to the side with his throat torn out. There wasn't a thing I could do about it either, if I would have tried to interfere with them, Tonya would have killed Max for sure. While I would have been busy killing her Ninetales she would have made her way over to Max and killed him. To be honest I rather have my son and his suit than that creepy frog...hell I only kept him around so that I could have an extra set of "hands" with me.
The wings have shown the Bell Tower to me before we even had that little fight in the city. And the only thing there that is of note would be the legendary Phoenix bird Pokémon, Ho-oh. I will claim it and add its power to my own ends, or I will die trying. This will be the first time I attempted to go after a legendary Pokémon I shall not hinder myself with thoughts of doubt.
"Do you have any idea of how we are going to take him down?" Max asked.
"Well let's try a bit of diplomacy and if my "wisdom" falls on deaf ears we will have to resort to force. But I would try and keep the specimen whole if possible." I shot him a look of warning. "That would go double for you, even if you're being beaten into the ground."
"Yeah I know you don't have to tell me! It wouldn't operate at an optimal capacity if it weren't whole do to the trauma towards its body." He said as if he were quoting me directly. "Also to you it would be considered a waste and you know you how you don't like to waste things."
I chuckled slightly as I found it slightly funny how this kid actually thought he knew me. But it didn't matter to me just so long as he didn't screw up the plan when time came down to it and he or Hydro for that matter decides to get kill happy.
We were still quite a ways off it was going to be a while before we reached the Tower and I didn't feel like holding a meaningless conversation with Max. But I know that I should talk to him about everything that has transpired within recent days. There's no telling what kind of trauma has been dealt to his mind because of recent events. Now that I'm actually putting some thought into it he has been quiet about the beating his love had received and becoming one of the most wanted people/creatures on the planet. Something like that will always take a toll on someone's who has been through so much mind, I need to make sure that his is in the right place.
"Max..." I called out.
"Yes?"
"What do you think about that last fight?" I asked.
"Like what do you mean what I think?" He retorted. "I wasn't in control of my body and the aftermath that I witnessed when I finally regained control will probably haunt me for the rest of my short existence. Krystal had shot me one of the most hateful looks that I have ever seen anyone shoot me in my entire life. I was then thrown over the lake by mom and I can't tell them about it because I have to have them think I'm completely evil."
Now that he put it like that a part of me didn't want to understand him, but the real me understood...understood him perfectly. I know what it is like to be completely hated by everyone...but I learned to cast aside my feelings and have my mind set only on the mission and so should he.
"How are you holding up then?" I asked. "Since everything turned out like you wanted at the end."
He remained silent for a moment. "If that was the case then I wouldn't be with you and instead I'd have my body back, you'd be dead, and I would be working on my first child. So no it didn't turn out the way I wanted."
I could tell that he was answering me truthfully, because there was no hesitation in his voice.
"But the only way I can see this world getting any better is with your plan. So, for now I guess you can say that I'm happy with the way things are turning out...ugh I swear I'm still contradicting myself." He said with an exasperated sigh.
"My son this world isn't supposed to make sense." I replied.
He remained silent for a moment. "What do you mean?"
"Well when you look at this world as we fly by what do you see?" I asked. I was rather curious to what he saw in things. I know I explained to him what the end goal of my plans, but he just may see things differently and have another reason for doing things. It didn't matter to me either way, again this conversation was just to pass time and have a better understanding of him, but the plan will be absolute.
"I see a world full of people and Pokémon going about their daily lives. Fighting everyday just for their survival without even the remote understanding of how the others they are harming feel."
He had the base undertone for what it meant to truly understand but was still missing quite a bit. I decided that I should share what know about the topic, because there is no reason to have him wondering around blind with me.
"What do you think about it father?"
"Max, whenever I look at this world I only see a mass of chaos..."
Even though I couldn't see his face behind the mask he wore, I knew that he was shooting me some questionable looks. It took me a while to come to this realization about myself and this world.
"I know what you're about to say and no, I'm not crazy okay." I continued. "See when man first inhabited this earth there was nothing but chaos. The Pokémon are no better than man! The only some people would think that because they don't have a certain intellect to guide them, the Pokémon senseless killings are seen as an act of nature. In truth they fight and kill for all the reasons that man do as well."
"You mean like the needs for life: food, sex, territory, etc." He said flapping his ice wings harder to gain more altitude. "Though, I'm not following your reason. That's the basic principle of life and what most if not all living creatures strive to achieve. Only that Pokémon do it through their genetics that compel them to do so."
I shook my head at him. I knew that he wasn't well versed in this subject but this is ridiculous. It feels like he's not truly aware for the reason as to why I'm doing these things, for what purpose all my action serve at the end.
"Max, mankind isn't some greater evil against nature that people would have you believe. Man can be seen as the ultimate evolved form of any Pokémon. The only thing that separate us from the Pokémon's themselves is the thing that you're wearing."
He looked down at his claws. "You mean this suit?"
I nodded, "Yes, you are living proof that technology is the only thing that keeps us from killing each other and that includes man versus Pokémon. With technology we can harmonize with each other. But that also means that we can kill each other all the same. Death will always be a part of this world with or without technology, it just means that living is just that much special."
"Yeah but is all the killing worth it though?"
I could understand why he was still hung up about that. "A few thousand or hell million people and Pokémon will die. So that billions will live on well into the future, without everything going to hell in a hand basket, yes it will be worth it. That takes me back to my point about chaos...the forest, rivers, mountains, valleys, hell even an abandon buildings could be all considered chaos."
"And how's that?"
"Well they are just a bunch of useless data until someone or something applies information to them, and get some order out of it. Order my son is the key in all of this. That is what I'm striving for, that is the only thing that I want to have at the end of the day."
"Well and I guess that proves that little theory."
"What theory are you talking about?" I retorted.
"That you're a lunatic. But what you say does make a bit of sense and the end goal is the same so it really doesn't matter what your logic is." Max said.
"No, it does, because in the end I will know that I've won."
Two hours of silence had passed before we arrived to the Bell Tower in Ecruteak City. It was magnificent as it was large. Some say that there are lots of ghost Pokémon who still haunts the tower. Fortunately I already know where Ho-oh resides and we're going to bypass the rest of the tower and go straight to the lord of the sky itself.
The city itself was a quiet and small, it was good because there won't be that much commotion if things start to go poorly. There were no people walking the streets and there was stillness within the air that stirred my senses. It made everything within my body feel uneven and unsure, and so to be safe than sorry I went into battle mode. I didn't have to unleash this form when I was fighting my wife Tonya. Once the concepts of these wings are understood I can manipulate any energy that is thrown at me and render it harmless. But I don't trust theory when it comes to the unknown and that would go double for a legendary Pokémon.
Unfortunately the manipulation of attacks, that also means that I can only do that for so many attacks at once, a weakness that my son is very well aware of.
Looking around I saw that the tower itself was decayed and looked that it was going to fall down at any moment. For some reason there was mystical energy flowing around the tower, I could only assume that it acts as if it were a detection device. If I didn't know any better I think Ho-oh was expecting me.
"Father..."
"I know," I said cutting him off from stating the obvious. "This is your job you're going to have to solve on your own. Find out what kind of counter measures that it has waiting for us."
He nodded and flew down to the front entrance of the building. Max's job is to set off whatever trap that may be guarding this place so that I can enter without much of a hassle. It is a fairly simple task if you ask me seeing as how that pretty much exempts him from having to deal with Ho-oh.
"I'm heading in...now." He said over the radio that was built in to the suits.
Suddenly there was a loud roar that erupted from around the area below. Whatever it was must have locked on to Max and was zeroing in on him. I have to use this opportunity to talk with Ho-oh and convince him to join me, or strip the wings off of his body. Either way it's power will be mine no matter what.
I glided myself over to the top of the dilapidated roof. When I touched down the roof felt as if it was going cave in at any moment. I guess I was going to have to make this quick. It shouldn't be hard to find a bird the size of a large vehicle, radiating light.
The roof itself, though old, was very large and contained a dense mist on the far end. From what I could tell that it had planned in advance I see. Too bad it I too have come prepared, as to where I don't have to see with just my naked eye, but with my technology instead.
I didn't even have to say a phrase but squint my eyes towards the mist. The suit I was wearing picked up on my intentions and quickly formed the helmet around my head. Within an instant I was able to pick up on everything that dwelled within.
It was then I became confused when I saw nothing but one large heat signature standing with in the mist. The thing that became weird was that the signature then broke up into four different fragments and within an instant burst out towards me at insane speeds. If I weren't wearing my mask I couldn't have been able to track them with my eyes, but not only was I able to do so I was able to see the trajectory path. As they neared me I soon casted them out of my mind and continued to focus on the one signature that didn't move. And like flashes of light they jumped passed me and off the roof's edge. A slight smile worked its way onto my face as they did, because they I realized who they were, and it looks like I cannot fail here.
"You have company headed your way." I said to Max over the radio.
"Ugh...let's get this over with. I'm a ticking time bomb remember." He then asked. "Alive or dead?"
"If you can manage alive if possible. You can break a few things. I only need power not bones." I said.
He didn't respond back but I that he was going to get the job done or at least have the die trying. No matter the outcome of that fight I will have my way. The visions told me so, and they haven't been wrong so far.
"Are you the Lord of the Skies? If so I would like to have a word with you." I said.
I had to assert myself or else Ho-oh would think I'm a push over and would try and defy me every step of the way. I needed to crush it completely; I need this Pokémon to feel that it had no hope to begin with. And that only purpose that it still lives is to obey me and supply me with its power.
"So, this is the human who have committed one of the most horridness acts of taboo towards life itself." And after I paid him a compliment about being the lord of the skies.
I wouldn't my count acts as taboo, but more like necessities needed to see the end goal completed. But I didn't need lectures from an over grown bird, if anything I needed to lecture it about my cause and why it had no choice but to join.
I stood my ground firmly as to my point come across clearly. I had to show it that I was the dominate one here.
"If you know why I did the things I have done. You should want to join me and my cause." I stated to the legendary creature boldly.
The mist split apart and the mighty phoenix Pokémon let out a loud screech with an erupting inferno behind it. When its eyes fell upon me, they carried an unholy intent to kill. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to talk to it and reach a compromise, but instead will have to subdue it. I already know Pokémon like these are nothing like my wife and those kids. They earned their titles by being the best and the strongest around. I'm going to have a fight on my hands...a tough one.
"You would dare approached me on my sacred grounds spouting blasphemous nonsense. You're disrupting the laws of nature and order!" It shouted.
"I am setting right this broken world that you as its watcher and protector let go wrong a long time ago! If you truly knew the beauty this world was capable of you'd know that everything about this is for the world itself." I retorted.
The heat that was radiating on top of the building was intensifying greatly. I knew that this wasn't a fight I wanted to last for an extended period for a number of reasons, the primary reason was that I didn't want this damn thing to drain its power out in complete exhaustion where it'd be useless to me.
"Well then since we can't talk then I know you know where this leads to..." I said as I started to unfold my wings that were wrapped neatly around my body.
Within an instant Ho-oh blasted a huge fire ball towards me. Coating my right wing in psychic energy and swung hard to deflect it. But before I was able to touch it exploded in my face. The heat was so intense that I could feel my wings that were covered by the almost elemental proof shield start sting with pain.
I jumped backwards and extended my wings to their fullest so that I could escape the heat. My eyes widen in shock when I saw that Ho-oh was hovering right above with the same deathly gaze in his eyes. Suddenly several more fire balls appeared in front of it and shot towards me. The fireballs suddenly split apart and scattered all around me before coming straight toward me.
'Damn bird is already exploiting my weakness and attacking me from multiple angles. The best I'll be able to do is deflect a couple and pray that I can avoid the rest.' I thought as the pressure was starting to build.
There were six of them in all, each was as large as the last. The first volley attacked me it consisted of two of them at the same time. They compressed in size (likely building up the explosive power) and shot towards me as if they were bullets. When they neared me they rapidly expanded, I immediately formed a Protect shield around myself. I soon found myself as a Ping-Pong ball as I started bouncing back and forwards between the explosions.
With the final one I was sent crashing down into a house that was near. My Protect actually shattered on impact.
"My word, what is going on?!" I could hear an elderly man yell.
When I was able to sit up I looked at the frail old man sitting at the other end of the room I was in. He was drinking a cup of tea, his eyes were shut which led me to believe he was blind, he was dressed in a house robe that had a falling leaf design all over it.
"Whoever is there, please...just take whatever you want and get out of here!" He yelled. I assume he couldn't judge how far away I was.
Looking around me I could see that I was in a bedroom given the dressers and the bed that I landed on. My fall had created a hole large enough to where I could see into the other where he was.
"Please just leave my granddaughter alone. She's all I have left." He said somberly.
I was just going to ignore him and get back to dealing with Ho-oh but something didn't feel right as I stood to my feet. I was wearing my suit and it made feeling things rather difficult, but regardless, there was a warm wet sensation underneath my hands (that I could feel through my suit). I didn't know what it was and for a moment only assumed that landed on some unknown liquid.
When I stood to my feet I looked on the ground where the wet spot was. I could only remain in silence as I witnessed what it truly was that I was standing on...it was the reason why I didn't hear any cries from any child or baby.
The time I collapse through the roof sealed the fate of the child as they were immediately crushed under the debris. There I could only remain in silence as there were chaotic explosions erupting all around me. I knew that it was Max probably fighting whatever it was heading his way, but none of that mattered to me anymore. The only thought that ran through my mind as an objective was the submission of Ho-oh in the most painful manner.
I glance at the old man once more time before taking flight once more. It didn't bother me that it was a child who died but the only that bothered me was that the death served no purpose. If Ho-oh would have just submitted from the beginning the child would still be alive to witness the end. I'm going to take both of its wings and add them to my body as well. I wanted to grant it a mercy and let it stay alive long enough to also bear witness the final understanding, but no! Just like this child's life, it's life as well will be snatched away and its power harvested and powered through my suit.
My suit was a very powerful device as it could adapt to the abilities of all Pokémon and generate their power. Just as it does the Lugia wings I have. I'll only take longer for me to store the energy myself but with its wings I can store nearly an infinite amount within them.
The Pokésuit transfixed my eyes on Ho-oh and shot a few battle calculations in my mind. My mask displayed the attack pattern of the Ho-oh of what was logically going to be it's next attack. But the thing was I wasn't going to wait for it to attack me but instead I was going to make the first move.
I didn't need to say anything but the suit automatically read my thoughts and activated the tentacles I had stored in the back of my mask. They slowly grew out and wave about in a reckless abandon. I could only pull these out when I have the intent to kill and nothing more. Like when I was clearing out Olivine City to carve a path to the center of the city in blood I killed everyone with these tentacles. Those peoples death meant something toward my final goal though. Killing unnecessarily was wasting resources...and I hate wasting resources.
"Human why do you persist with attacking me when I am clearly above your means of control. You nor any human on this planet could hope to never catch a Pokémon of my caliber. Surrender while I still have mercy and you can die with your humanity still intact." It boasted.
I had no intention on responding back to this Pokémon. I hope it realized that as of now...I am the superior life form.
Taking my every bit of my concentration I focused my psychic and dark energies into both my wings and tentacles. Unlike last time when I had no control over it and was running purely off of instinct, I couldn't move. But when I'm like this I'm next to invincible.
The flame will no longer reach me because of the shield that is placed around me. And my tentacles will keep sure that I don't get surrounded by attacks and become overwhelmed like last time when I fought Squirts and Max.
"You won't give chase, then...surrender peacefully and accept death?"
I remained silent. My power was that of death at the point anything I touched was instantly obliterated. I give myself the next five minutes until I've reduced this thing down to nothingness. I really do hope those legends are true about a phoenix being able to revive itself after it's been killed.
There were lots of explosions ringing all across the city as it must have been Max fighting with those creatures. I'm sure he's in no danger; with the Kyurem suit that I'd given him he should be almost as invincible as I am. But then the screams of people came from where they were fighting, told me that I needed to hurry this fight along and end it.
"You know Ho-oh I really don't believe in you legendary types being the strongest." I provoked. "If anything you guys are the weakest of all the Pokémon. Just because there aren't that many of you around doesn't qualify you as the strongest. You sorry lot can't even travel with a human companion because of some stupid pride."
"We are what keep the world right when all is wrong. The wrong is what comes from human hands!" It continued. "Everyone one of them: war or conflict between regions or anything bad with this world was inspired by man."
I simply ignored it and readied myself attack it. There was no point in trying to argue with something that has been on this planet for who knows, about ethics on this planet. Yeah man have problems but Pokémon aren't one hundred percent pure themselves.
"Then you are truly beyond saving and are ignorant."
I used tentacles in the back of my head to grow down to my back and curve around. It was then I fired the first one off like a bullet.
With the incredible speed it possesses, it nimbly dodged out of the way. Its wings expanded widely across the sky and so filled the sky with blazing flame. It was as if though the sun had come from the sky and with its furious fires and scorch the earth.
When my eyes fell on Ho-oh I noticed that it flinched slightly...and it was understandable. I was letting out my deathly intent directly into it eyes. I wanted this creature to know that there was nothing that it could do to escape it's inevitable fate. Its power was going to be mine and there was nothing that it could do to stop it, only exhaust itself further to fall into my clutches.
"Die human!" It yelled.
Suddenly like a sphere of flames the raging flames wrapped itself around me like the maw of a giant creature. I wouldn't lie and say that it wasn't incredible hot and even while I'm like this I can take so much heat before my suit itself burns out.
But Ho-oh didn't know that this was something I was waiting for and since I couldn't really move around like this I needed for it to get closer so I could start performing "surgery" on it.
Five of my tentacles shot from the back of my head and in a burst of speed closed the distances between us quickly. It was then as if though it, itself, was a part of the flames as the tentacles simply went through it.
"Do you now see the fruitlessness of your seeds of destruction human? This was a losing battle from the start, only a young foolish Lugia would have died fighting a human. The difference between I and the Lugia you killed when it comes to experience are millennia a part from one another." It gloated.
I could feel the flames around me expanding and growing with intensity. I could feel my skin and blood starting to boil as warning messages flashed across my eyes from my mask.
"You're the one who clouds himself with the illusions of false victory! Your fate was sealed the second you laid eyes on me!" I yelled back, because though my first five tentacles were avoided I had my six in the back of my head charging. I was placing a high concentration of dark energy within it, elemental or no, there was nothing that could stop me or my ambition!
The phoenix Pokémon let out a mighty roar as it then charged towards me head on. This would prove to be it's fatal mistake. The extreme high concentration of dark energy was beginning to convert itself into a dark matter-like state. Basically put, anything that it touches will vanish from this plane of existence as the matter is completely obliterated.
The only thing I needed was it's wings and nothing more. As it neared me I could feel my skin underneath the suit starting to boil and peel.
I used all of my concentration to manipulate the tentacle but when I did it shot out faster than that of a high caliber bullet. And within an instant was within the forehead of the flaming bird. It was like it had a mind of its own as it waved around a bit and cut off the body off from the wings of the Pokémon. It's body (although was in an elemental flame state) had completely been destroyed.
It wings were the only thing left and they were still heading towards me but not at the high speeds they were when the Ho-oh was still there. I reached out with my Lugia wings and waved them over them. The nanobots within my suit instantly broke down the wings and fused them into my suit.
Within a few seconds the ball of fire that lingered around me started to get absorbed into my body as it too started "evolving" in a sense. The suit grew small rainbow like feathers as it the flames were being taken in. It was a warm relief as a new found pleasure consumed me as well.
A few moments passed and the flames had now been fully absorbed. All of my wounds were healed as well as the new found ability of being immune to fire. The ability was beginning display through my helmet, as it was telling about the temperature that my suit could now withstand. I smiled when I saw it because now I can hop inside of a volcano and not feel a thing. And now a new world of possibilities has now opened up because of this.
I looked at my hands to see what was going on with my body and was shocked to see that my body had taken on an elemental form. I unfurled my Lugia wings' to see that they shifted into flaming wings. Each of the wing tips were now webbed together and my eyesight was that of thermal energy reader. My feet were no longer there as they were now the shape of a floating wisp.
Suddenly there were a number of explosions ringing all around me. I looked around to see that the city was being destroyed. When I saw who was causing the destruction my anger rose greatly as I knew that this madness had to end. There was going to be too many needless sacrifices that would not be able to witness the true understanding.
I started to make my decent into the city to greet the battle. Suddenly my body spasm and sent me crashing into the ground followed by a sharp explosion. There was a pressure being applied to my stomach. When I looked up to see what was causing that sensation something caught my eye. The walls of the crater I made were starting to melt and turn into a molten lava flow.
My stomach felt as if it would burst open at any moment. I then rolled over to my back and looked up at my now swelling stomach. I could hear a horrible voice swelling equally within my mind.
"If I can't kill you from the outside then I'll consume you from the inside and use your body to regrow my own!"
'Ho-oh?' I thought. 'You should be dead! But if you want to be just like Lugia you can struggle if you want, but just like he, you will submit to my will. And your power will be mine!'
Flexing my muscles as hard as I could I slowly start reclaiming my body as my joints started doing what I told them to do. Ho-oh was struggling valiantly but was all in vain, it may have lived for thousands of years, but my will and hatred stretches for eons that it will never know.
"You..." I cried out regaining control of my left arm. "Are..." I said getting control of my right. "Mine!" I screamed out as I burst from out of the crater like a rocket.
'YOU BASTARD!!!!' It yelled before finally going silent once and for all.
Taking a much needed deep breathed sigh of relief, 'Your sacrifice shall not go in vain as your power will be put to use and before everything end, you Ho-oh, just like everyone else will understand.' I thought.
I finally halted myself over the city and stared back down once again to see what was going on. The explosions stopped and I traced my eyes over the last place they stopped. It was on the far side of the city, and with a burst of speed I quickly made my way over to the location.
It only took a few seconds to make it to the other side of the city before, I was finally able to see Max. He looked to have a few scratches, chips, and cracks all over his body. He looked to be having a rough time, but then again it was three on one, and they were all legendary creatures. I was pretty sure he was holding himself back from his alter ego. And for once I kind of wanted him to hold back, I needed them whole at all cost. There was no way I would be able to survive a fusion with three more legendries, either one my mind and spirit would be completely crushed by theirs or two they'll overload my suit within the process and cause it to implode.
No, what I will have to do is either force them physically into submission and place them within master Pokéballs, or stake my claim over them as their new master and they willingly come inside the Pokéballs. Either way they will suffer the same fate as their master and be used to power my machine for true understanding.
The creature that my son faced was the three legendary beast creatures: Suicuine, a master of water and rain, Raikou, the master of thunder and lightning, and Entei, the master of flames and the one who is said to have burned the Brass Tower.
I noticed when I got closer to the fight there was a certain pressure being admitted within the area. It was almost as if gravity was two to maybe three times greater. But my suit wasn't detecting any abnormalities in the atmosphere.
I then looked at the three Pokémon that my son faced and remembered that with all of the power floating around of course there was going to a high Pressure wafting through the air.
The four beasts on the ground were roaring at the top of their lungs at each other. But either side didn't want to back down each other.
Suddenly Suicuine launched a powerful Hydropump , even with my eye sight I was bearly able to keep up with it. The water covered the ground quickly, almost as fast as the remaining Legendary Pokémon that was using it as a distraction to run alongside and attack Max from both sides.
I was rather curious to see how he would get himself out of this situation, but I need to be ready intervene just in case if I overestimate my sons ability, and since he isn't allow his alter-ego take control, won't be enough to meet the challenge that the three legendries offer.
Then there was something spectacular that happened...
Max shot a powerful Ice beam towards the ground and from it sprouted a seven foot ice spire. It effectively stopped the oncoming Hydropump the other two Pokémon were still charging from either side. Max clenched his fist and expanded them widely and with their expansion came enormous ice claws. The ice tower protecting him from the Hydropump in front of him he extended his claws to either side of the tower. I could see both Raikou and Entei closing in on him with both a Thunderfang and Firefang.
I knew he'd be able to stop the thunder attack but the fire attack would be the problem for his ice guard.
The legendary beasts both neared him, and it was as if though time had stood still and was slowly unwinding like that of a toy soldier. The Hydropump had yet to connect with the ice spire, but his movements, because of his enhance reflexes, the suit allows him to do truly marvelous things.
The center of his palms lit up with a dark blue orb in one hand and a bright blue one in the other. They were storages for an attack but not enough to do any kind of significant damage; I could only wonder what he was playing at. The dark blue orb in his right hand was pointed towards Entei and the lighter blue was pointed towards Raikou. Suddenly a small but focused water blast shot from his palm and directly into the mouth of Entei. The lighter blue was ice and did the same and it to hit Raikou square in the mouth. There were two small explosions that erupted from both of their mouths. But their momentum didn't stop and they ran straight into the waiting open palms of Max.
" Sheer Cold!" He yelled.
When he said those words I instantly knew that he won. It was from point blank and they would not be able to escape, and with his suit intensifying all ice type attacks even Entei a legendary fire type could not be able to escape.
And in a blinding flash of light the entire immediate area was completely frozen. I looked down to see Max standing there growling loudly with both Pokémon in hand. He was looking up and letting his voice soar to the heavens. I then saw what he was looking at and it was the crestfallen Suicuine. The way it was looking at my son was almost as if though it was going to start crying. It was standing on top of the ice spire looking down at Max.
But Max ignored its pitiful wails and threw both Pokémon down to his sides. He then pointed towards the Suicuine.
I do believe it's time for me to have some fun myself. Test out these new powers that that damn bird made me work so hard to get. I was still mostly an elemental as I effortlessly zipped across the sky and towards my target.
As I neared it was then that I noticed something completely unexpected. I had to halt myself in my tracks before I had sent the now kneeling creature into an inferno unlike it would have seen in its life.
"You are either an extraordinary human or another kind of monster. But you and your seed did manage to defeat my brothers and my master. It would be futile for me to continue this fight. You are my new master as there is no way for me to oppose you. Whether it is for good or the worst..." The dejected Pokémon said.
My body started to return to its normal physical form. The only thing that was a reminder from the elemental form was the new wings obtained from Ho-oh and they protruded from my back and had an two meter extension.
"No, you must fight me!" Max yelled. "You coward!"
The Suicuine actually started to tremble with fear. I could understand why though, I had just killed its master and torn the wings off of its body. The wings of the Ho-oh were stretched far and wide across my back and cast a large shadow over the Suicuine. I wanted to show that it was I who the dominant one and there was nothing it could do about it.
The legendary Pokémon trembled at my feet as I then reached down to place my hand on its head. It's body suddenly start turn into a bright red light.
"I'm sorry master...we've failed you." The Suicuine said.
"Do not worry you will be joining your master soon enough." I said.
The Suicuine was absorbed into my suit which then produced a Pokéball made of nano-bots from within the suit.
I could hear people screaming and yelling all around as they soon started to gather around me. Some were carrying weapons and others were just there to investigate what was going on. They were standing around both Max and I in a matter of seconds.
What was sad was the fact that I actually started to contemplate killing them. I then reminded myself that I needed to stay focused on the goal at hand and that these people would soon, just like the rest of the world they must be brought to understand.
"Father," I could hear Max over the radio. "We should leave now before they start getting one of them get bold and attack."
"You're right let's leave." I replied.
Expanding my new Ho-oh wings my body transformed into a half fire elemental state. I then took off into the sky with almost blinding speeds. Hell even my enhanced vision could barely keep up with how fast I took off. I could see that it was going to take a while for me to become used to these wings.
I started to fly in the direction that the base was.
"Father, wait up." I heard Max say over the radio. "You forgot these other two."
"No, I didn't I left them there specifically for you." I said, then putting a bit of distance between us before continuing. "You defeated them you carry them."
His suit was built with a capturing device just like mine and if he wanted to could capture a human. The only person it wouldn't work on is me and that's because I designed it that way. Plus though I wasn't going say it out loud but my suit could only handle so much data and these wings needed to be calibrated and fitted properly back at the base.
"I still think you should have let me fight that Suicuine. Since it was so confident that could attack me when all of its allies were fighting me, but then when they go down it surrendered. I don't need you stepping in and interrupting my fights. I wouldn't do it to you!" Max yelled over the headset. "And speaking of fighting what about those people down there?"
I looked back to see him flying towards me. His mask was hiding what I could safely assume to be a serious facial expression. Even though I have all this advance equipment even I can't tell whether or not if its Hydro or Max. Whenever he's speaking rationally I just think that it's Max and other times when he's not I assume it's the former.
"What do you mean those people? What about them?"
"Why not just kill them?" he asked before continuing. "You're not getting soft on me are you?"
This was definitely Hydro I'm speaking to because Max would never be willing to kill someone...without reason.
"Because it wouldn't serve a purpose killing all those people so needlessly. I want as many people as possible to live and see the end and know what true understanding is about." I said.
There was a loud grunt over the headset before it fell silent. I needed some time to think about what I was going to do next either way. I wasn't in the mood to talk about the ignorance of a Pokémon. Especially the one that had a big part in ruining in my life.
I decided that it was better to leave it alone and continue the flight in silence. Max and Hydro have been very helpful instruments in setting things along the path for the end and the true understanding.
Arriving back at the base a few hours later, I began the download, calibration, and readjustment for my suit. Fusing that kind of power to my suit like that was more of a hindrance than anything. I wasn't fighting at my full potential...which now that I think about it is pretty ironic that power can be a weakness at times.
I personally don't want to be a conqueror of the world. But I need to people to focus on me and what my ambitions are, and for them to hate me. It will be then and only then will they have a true understanding of what I am trying to accomplish.
"Father is everything going well?" Max asked. He was walking up behind me.
He walked up behind me and stopped as he was a few feet away. I could feel there was a lot of tension behind me and within him. He must have not known that Hydro had taken over when they were battling the three beasts. I assume it's reached a point where Hydro can take over almost at will now. I know Max has to be knocking at deaths door by now. He has to be scared but I'm sure he knew that all of this was going to be ending with his death...why not just accept it and move on.
"Yes, Max I'm fine I just want some time to myself."
"No, actually father I do need to speak to you."
I could only sigh dejectedly as I really didn't have any choice but to humor him. I while my suit was calibrating I really couldn't do too much moving around. This proper fusion between my suit and those wings were a very delicate process.
"What did you need to talk about son?"
"I lost control of myself again didn't I? He asked somberly.
I really didn't feel any empathy for his situation. When the Lugia in my body tried to take over, I simply stomped out the remainder of its consciousness within me. Well then again there is more of me here that it was Lugia or was it the fact that my personality was more dominate. There were many tests that were needed, but the time for the experiment couldn't be afforded.
"Yes, you did but know that the mission was completed."
"How many..."
"Don't worry about that!" I retorted loudly. I then turned to face him, "Max we are on a mission. Soon so very soon the world will understand!"
Max only held his head down in disappointment.
"Father I..."
"Speak Max." My patience with him was starting to wear thin.
"I don't think I have much longer...and to be honest I think I'm kind of scared. I mean I know people can always talk about not being scared of death...but when death is looming right over you like this I'm kind of scared." Max said pouring his feeling into his words.
"What are you getting at?" I said.
"I think just when I die there won't be anyone who will miss me. I can only think of the people would benefit from my death." There were actually tears falling from his face as he continued. "Fuck, I can't even die for the one girl I love most in this world, but instead pray that when she kills me it'll be a quick death."
"Why does it matter what will happen after you die? You'll be dead and that'll be it, but know that you've done your part and the mission will be completed."
He remained silent for a moment before slinking off back into the darkness and out of the room.
"Finally...a moment to myself."
Six hours later I found myself awakening in a sleepy stupor. My face was planted directly on the desk. Groggily I sat up and looked at the time, and grunted when I saw that it was ten minutes pass two am. I guess I was more tired than I thought, but then again I did battle against one of the most legendary and powerful Pokémon.
After a moment of reassuring myself of why everything was the way it was, I noticed that flashing light that kept bugging me.
'The hell is that?' I thought to myself as I touched the monitor. It was constantly flashing a warning/alert sign all over the screen. Suddenly the camera feeds of outside were being brought up and soon followed by the audio.
I could only smile in joy as I soon saw that my plans were coming together quite nicely. There was the entire Johto military line outside: tanks, soldiers, hovercraft, Pokémon of all sort, etc. I could see now that they really wanted me dead.
"Father I'm heading out." I could hear Max's voice return.
Turning around to see him, he was fully geared and battle ready.
"You are going out to take them on your own?" I asked.
"Well I don't think you're in any condition to fight. Plus it doesn't matter if I die anyway now do it? So I think I'll go out and draw on the attention of the entire world."
He seemed to have the right idea about what to do so I wasn't going argue with him about that. And I did say earlier that it didn't matter whether he died or not. So I wasn't going to stop him, hell to be honest he actually speeding this whole process up. Instead of me having to go out and annihilate a couple more cities to gain the attention of the military, looks like they came to me. And instead of me having to kill them to get the world to pay attention, my son is going to do it for me instead. I couldn't be more proud of him right now.
"Remember if you do die, the mission will still be completed." I said as parting words for him.
He nodded and then turned away and took off in a sprint towards the door. His ice wings on his back expanded and the door opened up.
I turned back to face the camera's to see how everything was going to unfold.
And I wasn't in the least bit disappointed...
Our base was completely surrounded by both soliders and different types of Pokémon. Flying types mostly Dragon types like Dragonites and Charazards. The ground forces had so many Pokémon I could spend all day just naming them all.
All in all there were at least five thousand of them all armed to the teeth and baring their fangs towards us. The humans had their weapons and their armored Pokémon who looked battle ready. If only they'd went on living their lives because their deaths will be pointless. In the end the outcome was going to be the same regardless if they manage to do the impossible and kill Max. Hell even if they were to somehow kill me, the base itself will continue collecting all the energy needed to complete the mission. And even if they were to somehow or another get inside of here there is no way in hell they would be able to find the appropriate frequency to get inside the right room where the bomb is being built.
I shook the thoughts of self-doubt out of my head and focused back on the action that was unfolding right in front of me.
Max burst out of the tower like a raging monster hell bent on killing. It only took several seconds before he made his first three kills.
In a flash he zipped pass a Dragonite and removed its throat while passing by. The rider on its back head popped off with only wide eyes as he could not believe what was happening. It was a marvelous sight to behold and it made me proud to be the creator of such a device. The third was a Pigeot that I wasn't even sure was in the military that was sent here, but wrong time wrong place I guess. It's entire body was cut to ribbons in a single swipe.
Max started a hard decent towards the ground like a predator pouncing on it's prey, he was met by several more flying Pokémon and soldiers. There was a faint white glow coming from his mouth, spinning around quickly he unleashed a large laser beam-like Ice Beam that instantly froze and shattered the pursuers. But he couldn't rest now as there were quickly taking their place and was hot on his heels.
The sky began to light up with gun fire and explosions. Max folded his wings back and drove straight towards the ground. An ice barrier appeared around him and crystallized. I was impressed with his tactics as the ice barrier around him will increase his mass before he strikes the ground cause a much more destructive effect.
The moment he crashed all hell broke loose. There was a loud explosion that rocked the entire area as there were dust and body pieces from body Pokémon and people being shot through the air. I could only imagine that at least twenty of them didn't survive that attack. There was gun fire raining down into the smoked area in a feudal attempt to kill Max. His suit was strong enough to take a high caliber sniper round and escape with only a bruise.
Suddenly nine rings of light burst from out of the dust that soon swept the area. It instantly froze everyone that was unfortunate enough to be caught within it's deadly beauty. I could hear horrified screams of the soldiers who were half frozen or their bodies had been cut in pieces. When a beam of that power rakes over something as fragile as flesh it would be very possible to cut someone in two.
The beam had either frozen or killed at least a hundred troops. There were a bombardment of tank rounds and missiles being dropped onto his location. He burst forth out of the flames with a deafening roar. His body was set ablaze and face looked to be severely burned. His ice wings were all but gone and he left arm was dangling by a piece of flesh. But he charged towards them ever so fiercely.
I noticed that as he made his way towards tanks that fired upon him the suit was quickly repairing his body as his was already coming back into place. The claws on his hands turned into ice as they then closed together to form a majestic swords. They were long swords with very elegantly designed butter flies on them. It was funny how something so beautiful was created solely for the purpose of killing.
His arm had all but healed itself by the time he jumped into the air. Raising his arms above his head, the swords actually came together and to form one giant blade that was twice the size of himself. He came down with a mighty cleave, while still getting shot at he managed to completely split the tank in two. Whoever was still inside of it was surely killed in an instant.
I almost didn't notice that the blade had left the hilt and sent an icy shockwave barreling down the field wreaking more havoc amongst the army. Bullets continued to reign and place giant holes within Max's body but the suit was repairing the damage as quickly as it was being placed there. It was almost as if Max was an unstoppable god of chaos upon them.
A line cleared and two men and six Electrodes lined up. The men had rocket launchers strapped to their backs. There were another group of men who came up behind them with a few Machamps pulling what seemed to be a catapult. One of the Machamps whistled and the Electrodes all turned around and made their way over to them.
I could only assume that they were about to fling the Electrodes towards Max and that their Self-destruct will finish him off. Unfortunately it could take a lot more than a few Pokémon killing themselves in a puff of smoke to destroy one of my greatest creations. Suddenly the Electrodes jumped inside of a container, and then they were launched as if grenade from a launcher. Upon impact they caused an explosion that covered a wide area that even consumed some of their men along with Max.
There was a shockwave that knocked a hand full of solider down to the ground. There was another heavy stream of bullets and more Self-destructing Electrode drops. The men then retreated to make a circle around and allowed the dusk to clear.
I could feel a sudden interest in how things were starting to develop grab my attention. I knew that he wasn't dead and I'm pretty sure that the commanders of the field knew as well. The only I wanted to know is what was Max's next move.
I decided to turn up the audio feed and hack their radios so that I could hear the commands their leaders, being barked out.
"I don't know what they hell that "Thing" is, but keep your weapons ready." One of the female commanders yelled. "We what?!" She shouted over the radio.
I used my scanner to make a sweep of the battlefield to find where she was hidden. Come to find out she was back towards the entrance of the city. I could simply tell Max where she is and help him disorganize the entire battalion of soldiers. But what would be the fun in that, it would be an insult to my genius if I were to help him out. No, he'll do fine, after all he's my greatest creation.
"So, we lost over two hundred men and one hundred Pokémon." She then sighed dejectedly. "We'll kill that bastard Shine if it's the last thing we do. Too many people have died for us to fail here."
"Yes, mam!" There were a number of voices shouting over the radio.
As the smoke the cleared there was a sudden panic that promptly swept over the battlefield.
Max was clever...
A huge hole sat where he supposedly was bombard. He dug his way underground before he took any serious life-threatening damage. That was very clever of him, and it was then I realized that it wasn't Hydro that had taken control of his body again, but was all Max.
I remember when that boy was younger he was always one step ahead when it came to almost anything. After all we did live in a house flood with mind readers and he was also my son, so it was natural that he became a talented killer. His mind was always from strategy and not for tactics. He only saw the victory at the end of the line not the one that lie in front of him.
His thing about his strategy was that yeah you could know about them that of you wanted, but the key that made it so horrifying was that there was nothing you could do about it. Imagine being able to see your death and there was nothing you could do to avoid it, nothing but lie and wait for it to come and take you away.
Suddenly the ground began to rumble and the soldiers became unsteady on their feet. And some even fell over on their asses, suddenly split open and left huge scars within the ground. Then there was a white mist that floated around the soldiers who were the closet to it.
I could only remain in shock as to what I had witnessed next. Even I, the great Dr. Shine could not have saw this coming.
The soldiers that were near the large cracks within the ground were frozen within a terrifying white flash. Suddenly a geyser of water launches fifty feet into the air...but didn't fall back down to the ground. Some of the water began to fall slightly but then stopping in midair to actually shift into an ice-like sculpture. The first thing that formed was some claws that were huge. Then formed a mouth...no a maw that was like that of a Feraligatr's and when it's ices opened they were glowing red.
"What the hell are y'all waiting for an invitation? Kill it!" The female commander screamed.
There was suddenly a tidal wave of pepper that sprayed over Max as a hail of gun fire. Only chips of ice burst from the giant monster and virtually no damage was being done to him.
Rearing his head back Max let out a loud roar so powerful that all of the flying Pokémon soon fell out of the sky, some to their deaths even. Everyone else that was on the ground covered their ears, I zoomed in on a few to see what was happening and some of their ears were bleeding. There were a few Pokémons eyes actually exploded.
"Now where is our battalion leader in all this?" I said aloud as I searched for the female commander again. Upon finding her I could see that there were three dead remains of large Pokémons lying on top of her. I could still see that there was still some vital activity inside of her body, so their sacrifice to save their commander wasn't vain...for now.
Max then looked over the battlefield that was now covered in dead bodies. There had to be at least seven hundred dead or more. This was a losing battle and once the commander realizes that she will surely give the signal for the retreat.
Suddenly out of his back, Max sprouted large ice wings that casted a large shadow over everyone. There was a low hum that filled the air as I could see that the surrounding area around him was starting to get colder by the second. His huge bat-like wings then light up like that of the moon on the darkest of nights...a ray of light soon shone, and what left in its wake actually sent a chill down my body. The light that made contact with anything were frozen with an almost absolute zero temperature. The bodies looked as if they have always been there since the beginning of time. Hell, they didn't even look like they were dead.
There were three men who were able to scramble from the chaos that was all around them and make their way over to where the female commander. Lift her up and called out a Dragonite, they put her on its back and yelled out an order. The Dragonite was still awe struck by Max's form, but his owner slapped it in the face and yelled the order again. I didn't have to be there to tell that it was yelling for it to get her out of here.
The second that the Dragonite took off for flight the ray of light soon swiped over its owner the other men. They were instantly frozen within time there was nothing anyone would be able to do for them.
As I watched the Dragonite carried her off I tracked its trajectory path and quickly formulated a plan. It was one of my more diabolical ones, but a necessary one. I needed to capture that woman and hold her as a prisoner.
In all my endeavors for this world's future I have yet to have a backup plan. Just in case if everything else fails I need something to fall back on...and she's the key.
Quickly bringing up the hologram computer I typed in a tracking code for the dragonite, since it was a captured Pokémon (therefore register) a master's Pokédex would be able to track it. I just hacked the Pokédex and brought it up on my GPS. I also typed in that I would be leaving the base for a quick snatch and grab. Of course the computer was trying to warn me of the potential danger that could come along with going out and with my suit still being adjusted I could potentially be killed. But this was more important at the moment and required my utmost attention.
I turned away and walked towards the exit. A hole in the leading to the outside world opened up and the rough wind and smell of death waft pass my nose. I expanded my newly found Ho-oh wings and took flight. I was primarily going to switch my Lugia wings to use as arms and my Ho-oh wings for their intended purpose.
Within a flash I was out and flying nearly five times faster than the Dragonite that had left with the woman. As I flew I could feel the cold wind coming from the ice form of Max as he continued to wreak havoc all over the battle field. This made my flight over to the fleeing Pokémon all that much easier because of it.
The Dragonite seemed to be flying at its most top speed as I could hear the sound barrier breaking. When I neared it I focused my vision on where my target was, there wasn't anything that it could do to shake me.
I don't think it even knew that I was approaching. By the time I neared it, it was already too late and I was ready to cut its head off with my psychic power coated Lugia wings. It was with little effort to remove the head of the Pokémon. It body immediately started to plummet towards the ground with an open palm (so to speak) I caught the girl with my psychic grip.
"I'm bringing a visitor, scan target, and allow entry." I said over my headset to my automated defenses.
"Target confirmed, entrance privileges are granted."
Well now that that's out of the way I can focus back on Max. He was nearly done as more than half the battlefield was completely frozen over. I got the feeling that I was going to have to be the one to bring him back. I know with the Ho-oh I would be more than a match for him. Hell I damn near have the power of the sun in my back.
I decided to quickly fly back to the headquarters drop the bitch off and return to my son. In the three minutes it took for me to do that and return was all that it took for what was once a proud city was now a frozen wasteland.
It was completely devoid of all life and looked as if though hell had literally frozen over. I flew down to investigate what happened and was surprised to find that the ice giant was still there but not moving. When I approached it there stood Max on top of the statues head.
The suit that he wore completely changed what was first the look of the legendary dragon Pokémon Kyurem, was now something more warped and demonic. There were two large ice spikes protruding from his forehead, the wings on his back turned into some sort of liquid clear-like gel on his back, his entire body looked thinner and muscles firm and tight. He almost looked like a tall human but his feet were huge eagle-like talons as was his claws that were neatly wrapped around his back.
"I just killed almost five thousand men and women both human and Pokémon. But there commander escaped...and you have her don't you?" Max said without even looking my direction.
"So I did. I have plans for her that is no concern of yours." I retorted.
"You'd better not be turning soft old man..." He slowly turned towards my direction.
It almost startled me slightly to see what his face now looked like...he and his suit had truly become one with each other. His eyes hellfire red and muzzle was short, but encased in ice. I don't think he could open his mouth but instead use some sort of audio feed through his suit to communicate. He looked as if though he was ready to kill anything that moved. Just way I wanted him...
'Wait did he just call me soft!' I thought.
"Max," I said sternly.
"What is it?"
"That woman is the failsafe to all of my plans." I said confessing an unnecessary truth.
He simply turned away from me and looked back out to the massacre he just caused. Which was fine in my book because I really didn't care if he heard this next part or not.
"If you ever call me soft again...I'll detonate a nuke in your stomach."
Returning back to the tower I immediately went over to the computer to check on what was happening and how the progress of converting the two legendary beast Pokémon into energy was going. Entei and Raikou were both being all of the heat and electricity absorbed from their bodies. The both of these powerhouses should provide me ample amount of energy.
There were still those birds I would have to go get as well. But will have to send Max because now that I have the world knocking at my doorsteps I can't leave. I now have to rely on Max and capturing the birds without fail.
Once I have the rest of these in my possession I will only need one more piece then I can truly make the world understand. And that fool Alex will deliver it to me.
"Now thirty percent complete with the absorption rate, now fifty percent complete with the conversion rate." The computer said.
"Excellent." I murmured to myself.
The conversion rate that it was talking about was the Sucuine. I said that I would need a replacement for that frog I lost earlier I would have liked an army but a legendary beast with my tech modifications is equal to that of an army. I was thinking about sending it out with Max so they could get the jobs done much more quickly.
Leaving from out of that room I had made my way into my own chambers and saw the female commander. She was still unconscious, but she won't be in a few minutes. I'll make sure that she's fully awake and aware of everything. I needed to plant my seed inside of her and hold her prisoner until she gives birth. When she does I'll just switch minds with that body. My technology will protect me until my body comes of age where I will truly be able to enjoy that new world.
I walked near to the table where the woman was being held and stood over her. I began to chuckle slightly...I think this was the first time I really had a chance to laugh at myself...or anything for that matter. This, the time when I'm about to lose what is left of my humanity is when I find that there is something left to laugh about in this world. I continued to laugh until there was water running out of my eyes, because I already knew once I start I will never be able to laugh again in this world.
"Max." I said over the radio.
"What is it father?" He responded coolly.
"Have I ever told you about when exactly I decided to change this world?" I said.
"No, the only thing you told me was the plan."
I was sure that I told him about my past...hell I think I should at least tell somebody. I have time...I have time.
"It started when I was but a boy."
"I'm already sleeping."
He was beginning to piss me off already.
"While I was just starting out on my Pokémon quest, I was challenge." I paused for a moment to relive that fated day. "I had just acquired a Charmander and was just testing out the fighting capabilities it had. When I boy ten years older than I was wanted to battle. I being young and naïve thought that nothing in the world could take me on."
I thought back to the time when the boy called out an Onyx. This was a time when seeing such creatures up close and personal was a bit intimidating. Hell I was so naïve then I thought Ember was the ultimate attack that could fell anything. How I was so sadly mistaken...
"I'll never forget the smile that other trainer had, because it was the source of hatred that fueled my ambition. He had called out an Onyx and immediately attacked my Charmander with such speed and ferocity that I couldn't even get a word out. Within moments the only thing that remained were the broken and crumbled up remains of my beloved Pokémon. And there was nothing I could do to stop it but nor the guy who did nothing but laugh." The more I started thinking about it the angrier I became. "Yeah I later found out he was some heir to a muti-billion Pokédollar company in Johto."
"Wait you can't possibly mean-." Max started.
He wasn't bored then, "Yes, it was the man all know and love. Alexander Silver. I swear I'm going to take everything of his before I kill him. And no, this isn't about some grudge I've held against just him either. I want him to remain alive for when I change the world and let him personally see the pain he's caused to others. People just like him will know the pain they caused to others as well, for both humans and Pokémon. Let them all walk a mile in each other's shoes. When we parted ways that day there were two things that were said and meant. One was to him I would be known as the little unknown boy, and two that I would destroy everything of his."
"Well then I guess, I can understand that, but to take it to this extreme? I know that there is something else that fuels your ambition, and not just because what Alex did to you either." Max said.
I could only simply nod. "Like I was saying earlier was that it wasn't just Alex who had been an influence to my life but others as well. Hell I had even heard that there was even a Pokémon brothel house. Slave trading for both humans and Pokémon, just some of the most depraved acts of nature that I could no longer bear witness to watch and see. I needed to make a change in this filthy world. That's when I decided to become a scientist and change the world from inside."
"I take it that it didn't work out so well." Max said.
"No, it did not. If it didn't bring a profit to the company or have any military usage, it didn't see the light of day. Nobody shared my vision, but I made it a special point that I found contacted Alex once again. I knew that his daughter had been born with a rare disease and he would hop on the chance to allow her be normal again. He never remembered me...the boy who's Pokémon he killed so long ago."
The radio remained silent. I knew he didn't like me talking about Krystal, but the thing was that if he wants to hear the truth he was going to hear the entire truth.
"I had no intentions on curing her disease instead I wanted her to be the beta tester for serum version of the Pokésuit. Back then I only results as quickly as possible, but thinking back on it that girl had been instrumental in building the suits themselves."
I was hoping to say something to ease the tension between us, if he thought that I didn't think that his girlfriend was completely useless he'd be less aggressive. Then again he only had a short time to go before death took him anyway, so it really didn't matter to me. Either way he knew the rest and I was done talking about that. He needed to get to work and so do I.
"Give me about two more hours so I can finish the rest of the transplants for the Sucuine, and I'll send it as back up."
"Father I'm sure I-."
"You sure that you will probably get yourself killed, just like you almost did while going up against the military. If it weren't for you little stunt in the end they'd killed you. So no, you will wait and leave when I tell you to!"
He remained silent and then turned off his radio.
It didn't matter to me any because I didn't feel like talking anymore anyway. Just as long as he does his job he can be pissed off all that he wants.
And everyone can all me a monster or even try to come and kill me.
Because at the end of the day everyone will Understand...
