This is a collaboration between me and dsc85. I created the basic story, but it was dsc85 who brought this to life beyond what my skill could do.

Five men received the unusual letter, delivered with their daily mail. Although none of them were acquainted with each other, all shared a unifying characteristic: unemployment. Each desperate job-seeker noticed the plain, unmarked envelope immediately and tore it open. Embossed in gold, the body of the message read:

Congratulations!

Your application has been approved and we look forward to meeting you. Please bring this letter to 84 6th Street tomorrow at 16:00 hrs and we can discuss the terms of your employment.

Please Note: For our convenience, please refer to yourself as "Subject x" at all times on company grounds.

The "X" was replaced with a number, one through five. That was it. No signature, name, anything to legitimize the message. And yet, despite no one recalling a job available at that address, all five were drawn to it the following day. It was hard enough finding employment in tough economic times. So even if this was just another pyramid scam, it was worth a shot.

Three similar, nondescript office buildings lined 6th Street. Nothing in particular stood out about any of them, save for several mirrored windows adorning the one in the middle. This, as it turned out, was the one at which the small group of men was told to report. One by one, they arrived and lingered around a locked front door. The five of them were surprised that each was to be interviewed at the same time, but it really didn't matter to them.

"So apparently I'm Subject Two," a man said. "Did everyone else get that weird note?"

"I guess so," replied Subject Four. "Any thoughts as to what this is all about?"

"I'm thinking military, considering the secrecy. I hope so. I hear their benefits are amazing."

At precisely 4:00 PM, the steel door clicked open in front of the assembled group. As they filed in, they fell silent at the perplexing scene that lay in front of them. A sparse juxtaposition of 70s-era furniture and space-age technology occupied the apparent laboratory they walked into. Several of the devices could have come straight out of a sci-fi movie, but what intrigued all of them is what dominated the center: a large laser, or at least, that's what it looked like. They stood in a cluster waiting somewhat anxiously for what would happen. Subject Three slouched into a pea-green chair and lazily traced a finger down a vein of cracks in the old vinyl.

"Can you believe this?" he asked the rest. "Do we really have to call ourselves 'Subject' whatever? I mean, I'll just come out and say my real name is Mi--"

He was interrupted by a voice muffled by static. "Welcome to each of you." It was coming from an old intercom speaker in a corner of the room. The startling noise echoed loudly in a mostly bare room.

Three jumped up to join the rest, but they only had a moment to turn as a bright light enveloped them. Sharp, stabbing pain was all they felt until each lost themselves to a blessed darkness.

Subject One awoke in a desert without sand. All around him stretched a vast plain of tough, cracked tan tundra. He wondered whether he blacked out or if the red light had somehow transported him to Siberia. One thought back to what Subjects Two and Four had said. Four believed this job was for the military, so this might be an exercise to test self-reliance and survival skills. Since no one else was around, they could be observing him alone as an assessment. Regardless of his lack of qualifications, he resolved to keep his wits and do whatever it took to win the job. Wherever he was, there was nothing in sight, only thundering noise and buffeting winds. One randomly picked a direction and decided to continue walking until he could no more.

Attempting to move proved difficult, as ceaseless gusts threatened to pull him from the ground. Air rushed around his face until his breath caught in his throat and he dropped to all fours. Deprived of oxygen, One sputtered and threatened to heave up the contents of his stomach. But it was the ground that truly left him uneasy; it was a wasteland, almost like a dry river bed that hadn't seen rain in weeks. The only hint of elevation was in the distance, where the ground rose and fell off in a swell. A stale aroma was a muskiness that covered everything. One began crawling to safety, still trying to figure out where he was abandoned. When he looked to the sky for some kind of direction all he saw was an overwhelming brightness that disoriented him. It jumped around, too, as if the sun couldn't decide where to be. He kept his eyes down after that.

To occupy the mind-numbing hours as he pulled himself across the uneven surface, One pondered why he was here. He had responded to quite a few job listings over the past month, but nothing like this. He wondered why the military would be interested in someone like him. Would they really drop him in the middle of nowhere with only the clothes on his back? What about the voice he had heard right before everything went black? The pain he had felt? In fact, he was still a little sore. He would complain to whatever recruiter was in charge of the operation when he got back.

Time lost meaning to One as he traveled an unknown distance. He hoped he wouldn't succumb to delirium as he passed mile after mile of earth. On occasion, he observed lakes that were particularly rife with the strange scent. He approached one such oasis, noticing no signs of life. One dipped a finger in and licked the digit. A disgustingly salty and bitter taste flooded into his mouth. He quickly spat it out. Although he was desperate to slake his thirst, he avoided the large pools from then on, thinking they were stagnant water.

With his head down, he never noticed as the sky changed, only pausing when the humidity suddenly got worse. It was when the sky grew dark far faster than normal that he looked around, seeing a field of pink perpendicular to the ground. It reached up into a disconcerting darkness. His heat- and thirst-addled mind couldn't grasp what it was seeing, but soon the wall overtook him and he saw nothing anymore. One swore he heard a roar in the distance, some kind of throaty monster. A tide picked him up and dragged him away, brushing against surfaces he couldn't make out. It was still dark when he heard thunder and felt himself falling, never to be seen again.

Subject Two found himself in a similar situation, only the surrounding topography convinced him they were in badlands rather than desert. A gray, overcast sky hung over a tan field riddled with canyons and pits. He blinked a few times, staring at the dingy sky. Two shrugged to himself and stretched out lingering pain. This mysterious employer could mess with them all they wanted. He wasn't going anywhere. After a few minutes of carefully avoiding the pits, he ran into Subject Five.

Two and Five traveled together, calling for the others and hoping to go home soon. The more they walked, the more Two began to question whether or not this had anything to do with a job. Neither kept track of the distance, but both pressed on out of fear of being alone in this seemingly empty place. Soon they passed a vast pit, many times larger than the surrounding divots. As they stopped at its edge to get a closer look, a tremor hit with a bout of thunder, causing both to fall. Two managed to keep his grip on the ground, but Five was not as lucky and fell into the pit. He stopped halfway down, but with walls so slippery Two had no choice but to find the others first. He yelled down to Five.

"Stay there! I'll find help." Yeah, right. One down, three to go. Whoever organized this would be around in due time to rescue Five. He had to assume it was a competition, with only one winner. So he pressed on, looking for some sign of civilization.

He didn't make it far, as the cloudy sky turned blindingly bright unnaturally fast. Two stumbled and fell, with his hands glued to his eyes to block out the retina-searing light. Then, as soon as it had appeared it was gone, replaced by a heady darkness. It was so pitch black that Two was worried he had gone blind. Before he could look around he was pressed into the earth by something vast and warm. Two never had a chance as he was ground to dust.

Five waited in the crevice, hoping he could trust his compatriot. When the sky changed he covered his eyes, not knowing what was happening. But when the sky darkened, the ground shook and moved. Fear of falling into an abyss of who knows how deep overtook him. Although attempting to climb was a terrible idea, he did it anyway. While he was gripping the slimy ground, the sky suddenly lit up again. Three, already away from his safe zone, was forced to climb with his eyes closed. All he felt was the ground moving drastically and thunder claps from everywhere. Soon the thunder hit its apex and the ground settled. Shortly after, he heard a new sound.

Against all odds, Five had neared the top of the pit. But what sounded like a flood struck him with a new fear. He knew that flash floods in the desert could be deadly, so he scrambled up the last bit of distance and peered out. Five saw not water, but white ooze in piles taller than buildings. It was coming towards him faster than he could ever hope to run. As it claimed him, he could only sense intense heat and white monsters, perhaps some kind of alien fish, swimming without any direction.

As he tried to escape the depths, he failed to notice a massive white wall scraping across the landscape towards him. The powerful structure swept across the plain, gathering and scooping up the white piles. His pain was ended shortly after he was picked up. Ivory walls collapsed in and crushed everything.

Subjects Three and Four did not even have the luxury of sight. They had traveled in a near darkness that gave them limited vision, but what really weighed down their movements was the scent around them. A pungent odor covered everything, but despite its choking power they pushed on. After a while they arrived at what they could only describe as a crack in the ground, and both knew this was the source of the enveloping smell.

"What the hell is this?" Three rasped out between gags. Four shrugged.

Three dared to get close to see what he could, but a sudden quake tossed him down into the black pit. Four screamed after him before backing away. Judging from the how deep the crack went, Four thought this was the end for his one-time partner and traveled on. He sobbed, wondering who could be cruel enough to put them in such mortal danger.

Three landed in a puddle of clear goop, saving his life, but with how far into the canyon he was, climbing out was not an option. He wandered the darkness till he found a cavern, but when tried to turn around another quake tossed him near the opening. Three succeeded only in slipping all the way in, sliding into the musky tunnel. The trip lasted a long time, enough for Three to start to enjoy it like a water slide. That was, until the cavern began to heat up and move. Rumbling sounded around him as the walls rippled, with more ooze bubbling up from below and trapping Three against the wall. The quakes nearly killed the poor man, but it was when a pressure came from below that he closed his eyes for the last time. A heap of slime encased his body and suffocated him.

Four ran as fast as he could, knowing he was now alone in this seemingly endless wasteland. Soon he reached a canyon. It was at this point he started noticing something was off in this world. He wasn't walking on Earth. When the sky lifted away he was blinded like all the others, until something blotted most of the light. Fear gripped him when he looked up. A flesh-colored obelisk three or four times the size of Mount Everest was descending towards the center of the canyon he was in. It dipped almost teasingly into the ground and slid back and forth. Finally, it thrust into the hole slowly. On the slow outward pull accompanied by a sickening squish, it slipped completely out. The tower drew a bead on him on the next thrust. A slit on the top collected him and lifted into the sky. As it angled toward the anus he could now see, he instead looked up, seeing a black spire towering above.

Four got nothing more than that brief look as he was propelled into the rectum of the being he realized he was on earlier. The cock moved in and out and nearly tossed the tiny man off of it, but that happened shortly after with a burst of pre. He floated there as the head battered him over and over again. Four found himself lost in the moving and shifting ass of a giant and the cockhead of another threatened to crush him. Thunder sounded around him as the walls clenched and relaxed rhythmically. Four tried to stay standing and find a way out, but the muck held him in place. He never succeeded as the cock unleashed its load around him in a series of several squirts. Four could only close his eyes as he was swept up and pushed hopelessly further into darkness.

Lek reclined in his high-backed leather chair and watched the five chosen ones enter his lab on a tiny video screen. The tan raptor licked his lips as if observing prey. In effect, they were. He was undertaking a risky gambit to achieve his dream: shrinking other humans and anthros for his and his boyfriend's enjoyment. Lek didn't see think what he was doing was criminal; he only picked the leeches and wastes of society, those who were failures in life. They deserved to be punished for their lack of success.

From his service as a contractor for the military, the raptor had access to equipment necessary to perfect his device. What the brilliant mind couldn't construct on his own he smuggled out of secure facilities. Unwitting coworkers even offered him advice as to how to optimize the miniaturization ray. His project grew over the months until he was forced to move the operation in the interest of his love's safety. The raptor rented out an office building that probably hadn't seen use in decades, and retrofitted it as his laboratory using an assumed name and phony bank accounts. Lek installed mirrored windows to avoid prying eyes. He had all the time and money in the world to perfect his technique to shrink living beings.

Then it was just a matter of finding the right people, people who wouldn't be missed if they suddenly disappeared. He culled a list of job-seekers in the metropolitan area, focusing on those searching the longest and with the fewest qualifications. Then, he data-mined their online presence to determine a list of seven likely candidates. They had no immediate family and few friends. Five would be sent his message, with two as alternates in case something went awry. The letters, the only connection between himself and the unlucky few who he knew would respond, would be brought right back to him and destroyed. His boyfriend would be a weak, if plausible, alibi.

While the group ogled at the toys he had in his lab, particularly his large prototype laser, Lek quietly slipped out of a back room and ducked behind a workstation. He held the trigger for his latest device, salivating at the prospect of being so close. As soon as they were in position he called out from a portable intercom, drawing attention away from where he was hiding. Lek calmly arose, aimed, and fired as they stopped to look for him. The raptor didn't expect the flash to be as bright as it was. When a red light enveloped the room, he covered his eyes and never saw what happened.

After his vision had finally adjusted again, he excitedly looked for his new toys, but saw nothing, not even clothes. How disappointing. They probably disintegrated under the intense amount of energy required. Now he would not only have to figure out what was wrong with his device, but also wait a short while before culling more test subjects. He glanced at the small LED display he put on the device for convenience. It read "10." They were supposed to be shrunk to 10 millimeters, still very visible to the naked eye. The distracted scientist placed the device on a table, never noticing that in the corner of the screen, the scale was set on "?m" instead of "mm."

He ran to check for anything, even ashes, but with so many thoughts in his mind he tripped over himself. His gray shirt flipped up as he landed where the men were before. After brushing off, a quick survey revealed nothing. Oh well. At least Taris could cheer him up when he got home. Just thinking about the iguana made his pants tight. The raptor locked up his lab and slowly walked home, sighing at his latest invention's failure. He was so sure after thousands of computer trials and endless chalkboards filled with equations that it would work this time.

His home was just around the corner, so it didn't take long to reach the arms of his roommate. To his delight, not only was his love there, but Taris was leaning in the doorway, wearing nothing after his afternoon job.

"Well?" The iguana was excited. He was thinking about Lek's invention all day, but worried once it took longer than usual for the raptor to get back. His roommate's bowed head made him frown.

The raptor kept his snout down and grimaced. "Nope. Sorry."

"Aww." Taris sultrily crept up to Lek and began massaging his shoulders. "That's OK. We can still have some fun."

The iguana swept him up and led his love to the bedroom, knowing just what would help him relax. Easing the raptor to the bed, Taris took his paws and rubbed one, while bringing the other to his face and sucking on Lek's weary paws and toes. The iguana went back and forth, slurping on each prodigious digit. The raptor laughed as Taris's tongue tickled him. At one point, he reflexively kicked his foot up and shoved a toe down his boyfriend's throat. They both laughed before Taris continued, massaging his sole. Lek closed his eyes and unleashed a throaty growl.

After each paw was well tended to, the iguana let them slide to the floor. He climbed up his boyfriend's body while pulling the raptor's shirt over his head. He pressed their bellies together while giving his snout a brief lick. Taris showed what he wanted by lightly grinding on the raptor's crotch. After the embrace, the iguana stood up.

Lek knew what was next, and quickly lifted his legs off the bed. With a brief tug, the raptor's pants were on the floor, and his love moved into position. Using one hand, he moved his cock into position and teased the raptor's entrance, while the other started working Lek's slowly rising member.

After his first thrust, Taris pulled a bit too far out. His head slid up the raptor's underside, giving both a heavenly jolt. When he brought his cock back into position and thrust into Lek's depths, he began stroking the raptor's pole in time with his own movements. Soon both were moaning and nearing the peak of pleasure, but the iguana wanted his raptor to release first. Taris slowed his hips, teasingly slow, then suddenly drilled Lek against the headboard. When the raptor came, his anus gripped the iguana like a vice and triggered the other's release, giving both the moment each wanted. Lek, who had been saving up, exploded cum all over his own belly. One shot even hit his chin, while all the while his rear filled with the savory warmth of his love.

Some of Taris's cum began to ooze out in a lazy river when he pulled out. He dropped down and hugged Lek close, while the raptor began the rather unglamorous process of clean-up. He reached over and grabbed a tissue from the night stand before wiping his belly down. He balled it up and tossed his mess into the trash bin nearby, wrapping his arms around the iguana and giving him a quick peck.

"Tomorrow I'll stay at the office to finish this once and for all, and then we will have some tinies to toy with," the raptor murmured. The tantalizing promise of actualizing his deepest desires sealed his course of action. Two alternates were still available for another day.

"You always get everything working," the iguana purred. "You always do."

***

The two lovers continued to revel in post-cum glory, while down by the raptor's used hole Taris's semen was slowly drying out. The flow of sperm became a trickle, but not without first carrying with it a stowaway. A tiny, imperceptible head arose from the stream near its edge. The man crawled through the muck and out of the mess. He dropped down and took a deep breath, while looking up past a still-quivering anus at the erect penis far above. Lek's face was too far away to make out, and his body reached up until a haze blocked Four's vision.

"Whatever they are, I hope they don't plan on a second round."

Two days later, an unusual letter made its way into another's mailbox. A man broke the seal and looked it over.
