The Vast Woodlands chapter 3

Over the coming weeks it was quite plain winter was coming, the last leaves had fallen from the trees and Leaf still couldn't move unassisted, thus she was starting to get a little panicky.
"Fenrir, Fenrir wake up please" she yelped, it was early morning and the sun was only just poking through the trees.
Fenrir looked at her groaning "It's so early... you don't want the bathroom do you?"
"What? No Fenrir please you have to help me to walk right now, or else I won't be able to find any food left in the forest for winter, or a place to sleep" She replied still panic stricken
The grey and white Arcanine sighed, he had completely forgotten Leaf had to leave when her leg was better, and her leg was healing and would most likely be better by the time the snow came so he nodded in agreement and got up.
"Ok then" He put his paw under her tummy and started helping her walk off to the woodlands to find food.
One of his female followers spotted him walking off with Leaf and became jealous; she got up and began to follow them, to see just how much of a threat Leaf posed to her chances of getting the grey and white dog.
Her tracking skills were excellent so she was able to follow at a distance and still keep her eyes on them, She was already disliking the fact that Fenrir was handling Leaf the way he was, and growled quietly with every jokingly, bad and snide comment the Leafeon said to Fenrir.
"How dare she treat my Fenrir with such disrespect!" She angrily yelled in her head.
Leaf whimpered, as they spend almost all day searching for food, so far they had been very unsuccessful.
"Hey Fenrir... please leave me here..." she sat down giving up, her leg was swollen and gently pulsing dew the exercise she had been putting it through that day, she also seemed a little tired and achy, her body was gently swerving as if she was going to collapse at any moment.
He stared at her "No Leaf, It's my fault you're like this... I'm not going leave you here and I'm not letting you starve over winter" He Objected, his voice full of guilt and self anger and his stance suddenly looking more self aggressive.
"How? Your pack don't accept me being around Fenrir" she said sadly
"I don't care Leaf, I got you in this mess and I'm not going to have you die because of me" His voice not only serious but proud.
Leaf looked away "...wow... Fenrir you really care that much...?" She said quietly, her voice toning down.
"Well of course little one" he said with his cheeky voice
"Oh Fenrir!" She jumped at him and nuzzled up gratefully, whilst he returned the favour with a mere smile and a delicately place paw on her back.
The female Arcanine growled angrily and hurriedly returned to the pack to tell the other girls who all went sick with envy.
How dare Fenrir spend his time with an outsider and even worse; hug her?!.
The girls all snarled to one another and grumbled angrily over Fenrirs blatant mistake over is choice of friends, An Arcanine shouldn't demean themselves by being friend with such puny and unworthy Pokemon such as the Leafeon he spent time with.
It was late when they returned, Fenrir left Leaf in his nest and he went off to fetch some food, Leaf was feeling good until 3 of Fenrirs followers came over.
They growled at Leaf "Listen Leafeon I don't care what you think you feel towards our dog but you are not to hug him again while you are here, GOT IT?!" one of them snarled
Leafs ears drooped and she lowered into the nest whimpering and going defensive.
"You should leave Leafeon your not one of us, which means your get no right to even look at our leaders grandson" another snarled with laughter hidden behind it.
The third reached out and grabbed Leafs paralyzed tail and yanked her out of the nest before throwing her to the side, Leaf didn't see it coming, she had hidden her face away from them.
Leaf yelped loudly and painfully because of her leg, Fenrir heard Leafs yelp and worriedly dropped the food he carried, as he was rushing back to her.
Fenrir reached Leaf just in time to see the Arcanine females surrounding her and spitting comments at her like burning food in their mouths.
"HEY!" barked Fenrir angrily "Leave her alone!" His words so harsh and angry, the three females backed away, leaving leaf curled tightly on the floor and whimpering.
"But Fenrir!?" Cried one of the Arcanines, only to receive his glare which made her back down hurriedly.
"Leaf is my friend whether you children like it or not, DO you understand?!" he barked again gently picking up the terrified Leaf in his mighty jaws.
The Arcanines burst into tears and ran away, Fenrir snorted before looking at Leaf.
He sat beside her "Are you ok Leaf? Did they hurt you?" he said worriedly, his words slightly sped, he wanted to know the answer as soon as possible.
"I...I'm ok..." She whimpered "but my leg hurts..."
"I'm sorry about them Leaf" he said sadly "I had no idea they would do this, I wouldn't have left you alone if I did" He said mournfully.
"It's ok..." she whimpered "They were right I don't belong here... and I shouldn't have hugged you, your important around here... I'm just sorry I interfered" she sounded ashamed of herself, and it showed in her face how sorrowful she was.
"You didn't Leaf, I forced you to come here after I broke your leg, That hug was the only contact you've given me since you've been here and it's been a while since you first came here" his voice beginning to sound slightly frantic as he leant forward slightly
"I'm sorry... I'm a waste of space..." she said ducking down again.
Fenrir growled loudly "You're too hard on yourself Leaf! From what I've seen you're a really nice Pokemon! Your kind and sweet! You're strong! And what's best is you never seem to stop trying!"
Leaf was taken aback by his outburst and gazed at him in shock.
Fenrir sighed "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to yell at you Leaf, it's just you're a lot more then you think you are ok"
Leaf smiled softly and nodded laying down to sleep.
"I'm glad I've earned his friendship" Thought Leaf as her eyes closed
Fenrir looked at her quietly "She is stubborn I'll give her that..."
