Crazy College Life of Mikkle 2
Second chapter of the Mikkle series.
CRAZY COLLEGE LIFE OF MIKKLE 2
Nearly 3 months had passed since he was supposed to have graduated from college. Mikkle couldn't really decide if it was bad luck or perhaps some strange twist of fate that had brought on the torrential down pour that caused the state to flux in and out of states of emergency. Though he had started his internship, he had only managed to go into work twice. The people there had been extremely friendly and courteous. His boss was a stout bear, brown fur typical features in all truth right down to his love of honey. Yet everyone would jokingly refer to him as "Teddy" cause he was pretty passive about everything. Mikkle generally enjoyed the work what little bit he had gotten to do at least.
He couldn't but give a self depreciating chuckle as he felt another hot tear roll down his cheek. "How funny it is, that in order for something good to happen I must suffer through so much bad."
Mikkle's mind spun back to about 4 months ago when he had told his brother how much he hated him. How much he just wanted him gone. He had thought that things would be alright with James gone that perhaps he could then move forward with Xar. When he went to Xar's place a few days later he was informed by one of the servants that the dragon wasn't receiving any visitors and denied entry. He tried talking to James but he seemed to be doing everything in his power to avoid the mouse.
It had been this way for the past few months. Constant loneliness, no friends to talk to, no one stopping by his room. At the least he had his video games those should have cheered him up but they didn't and his mind constantly swirled about with thoughts of negativity until finally the depression gripped fully upon his chest.
He laid upon his bed in the all too quiet dorm room, the lights off curtains thrown open allowing the grayed sky to consume the view along with the rain splattering upon the window. The knock at the door sent the mouse jumping from his stationary spot. His heart pounded, startled by the unexpected knock.
"Just a moment." Mikkle grabbed a pair of pajama bottoms quickly tossing them over his white briefs along with a simple t-shirt as he opened the door.
Mikkle tilted his head confused by the fox standing in front of him upon first sight. "Heya Mikkle it's Jason. Kinda been a while so figured I would drop by and see how you were doing."
Jason wore a soft smile on his face as he looked over the mouse's body. He seemed thinner and his eyes were defiantly weary. Though weary was probably putting it in the most mild of forms possible. His brow scrunched in concern as he concluded the examination.
"Oh Jason, yea it has been a while." Mikkle's face remained a mask (in his mind) of stone. He didn't really like the fox yet somehow he seemed different. But then again just because he was wearing a suit and had showered didn't really mean anything in particular.
From behind Jason a large form appeared. "Ummm hi there, Mikkle I believe it is? I'm Bruce and pleasure to finally meet you."
Mikkle started to make an inquiry until he noted the Rhino's hand placed firmly on the fox's hip. Defiantly a clear indication of dating. His brain raced back to the night at the party, and slowly images of the fox and rhino dancing on the floor appeared before his eyes along with another unwanted image in the bathroom. Clearing his throat Mikkle responded somewhat bitterly "Well yes I do vaguely recall seeing you before and the pleasure is all yours Bruce. Now is there some reason why you are bothering me?"
Jason tossed a worried glance to Bruce whom returned with a soft smile and slight nod. Flattening his ears slightly Jason turned back facing the smaller mouse. Sighing and speaking as rapidly as a salesman with a door closing in his face "Mikkle we are all just worried about you ever since the party..." His words fell off unable to complete the sentence.
Mikkle's blood however was boiling. What right did this fox have to judge him? fucking pot head. With clenched fists and a trembling jaw tightly closed "What right do you have to come here and question my decisions? You are just some strung out pot head who cares more about where his next dick is being inserted than where his next meal his coming from."
The words had defiantly hit their mark. Jason stood for a moment stunned that Mikkle had actually said that. However Bruce was not so inclined to simply stand by. A massive hand gripped hold of the mouse's shirt lifting him easily into the air with a vicious snarl.
Mikkle's ears flattened as his tiny hands gripped upon the giant's wrist. Heart racing and eyes wide with fear, he thought for certain he was going to get pounded into oblivion by the brute. Oddly as he was lifted his only thought was of James coming to rescue him just as he did those few months ago in the bathroom. His heart sank though realizing it was his own bitterness that wrought this upon him and no one was going to save him.
"Bruce." Was the only thing the fox said as he gently rested his paw onto his lover's arm.
In that split second, Bruce's vision cleared and a flush of embarrassment crossed upon his face as he gingerly set the mouse back unto his feet. "So...sorry Mikkle."
Jason couldn't help but chuckle a little bit at the situation, but his amusement was short lived as he turned back to Mikkle his tone dropping to a slightly sterner tone as a teacher may take with a disobedient student. " Firstly bud I haven't touched any weed since we left Xar's place. Secondly the only dick I think about these days is Bruce's. Thirdly here is the package that's been sitting at the front desk for the last two months."
Mikkle blushed at the scolding as a package was jammed into his hands. "I guess..."
Quickly intruding into the sentence "Listen I don't need to know the details Mikkle we haven't exactly been friends and I know you don't really like me all that much but, I do owe James and quiet a bit at that. For his sake please Mikkle go make things right with him he... he is broken without you...without his brother."
Standing as though he had just been struck deaf, dumb, and stupid Mikkle worked futility to move his jaw in some semblance to form a sentence. Finally surrendering the package slipped from his hand landing on the floor with a solid thunk as his back hit the wall and he slid down just as quickly as the tears that were flowing from his eyes ran down his cheeks.
"I know this is hard to hear Mikkle but both Bruce and I are here for you any time you need us." Jason's voice quivered ever so slightly at the sight of the mouse.
Jason reached out to place a paw on the mouse's shoulder only to have it slapped violently away as he screamed into the fox's face "You understand nothing. The person you love is beside you, mine though mine was pummeled while I was being held. By my own brother the one person that is supposed to always strive for my happiness. In spite of going back to that persons house all I got was a lame dicked excuse about the master not taking any visitors." Though tears still flowed from his eyes their gaze had turned steely and locked clearly unto Jason's.
Jason turned his eyes downward, unable to immediately respond to the accusation tossed at him like a dagger. He was right though he couldn't understand something like that. Bruce had been his first love and before then it wasn't really something that was on his mind much. Yet when Bruce had come into his life everything just seemed, right.
Taking a seat next the mouse his arm draped across his shoulders as he snugged him close against his side. the entire time his gaze looked out past Bruce as though he were watching his past flash by. "You're right Mikkle. I don't know anything you are going through. Love was never on my mind not even when I met Bruce but then things just became right. But what I do know is that you have friends who are worried about you, and if you ever need a person to talk to you can come to me."
Mikkle's steely gaze melted away as his ears pushed back again. He couldn't stop the tears that started flowing instead he pressed himself into Jason's side and simply sobbed uncontrolablly.
Jason was not used to being the supportive one in any kind of situation and he felt his body stiffen with tension as he clumsily rubbed the mouse's shoulder in some effort to provide comfort. With a slightly pleading look shot towards Bruce he offered his boyfriend a slight apologetic shrug.
Finally after minutes of bawling the mouse finally pulled away wiping the tears from his white furred cheeks "Th...thanks guys, I am feeling a bit better. I guess i just have to get over my emotional hang-ups and just move on with things, huh?"
Bruce frowned at the comment and interrupted before Jason had the chance to say anything "Mikkle. Listen I know you are hurting right now but giving up is not the way to handle this. I have been through many relationships. Some good, others great, some well shitty at best. But the one thing I learned is to never give up on love."
Mikkle gave Bruce a perplexed look at the statement. "Love? I doubt that is what I felt for Xar was..."
Bruce was already shaking his head before the mouse ever finished his sentence. "No Mikkle it's pretty obvious that you love Xar and I suspect that he loves you as well."
Mikkle gave a slight nod as Jason stood up beside him with a paw extended helping the mouse back to his feet. "Mikkle when this rain lets up me and Bruce will give you a ride to Xar's. Ok?"
Mikkle smiled for the first time in what felt like forever "Yea that sounds great guys. Again thanks for kicking my ass back into some sense of normalcy."
Jason wrapped his arms tightly around the mouse squeezing him into a tight hug. "Hey you all gave me a chance and it's the least I can do to help a friend ya know."
Just as Mikkle started to respond he felt Bruce's thickly muscled arms wrap around both him and chance. Flushing in both embarrassment and discomfort of the situation he finally squeaked out "Ok ok, no more mushy stuff lest I turn into a giant pile of mush."
They all chuckled as they pulled apart. Mikkle leaned down securing the package beneath his arm. Watching and bidding his two new friends farewell as they left from the dorms. Turning he walked back into his room a new and refreshed sense of hope and joy beating in his just. Flicking on the lights the gloom of the room quickly vanished as he plopped down onto his bed the package following suit.
Mikkle hadn't remembered ordering anything so he checked the box's address label and felt his heart beat as he read the label. "Xenthar Dubor"
He felt the tremble race through his hands as the realization that this package had been sent by the one he was longing for. Without a second thought he grabbed his keys from the night stand and stabbed them through the clear tape and ripped the package open. Quickly tossing the crumpled brown paper that laid on top of the items below.
Gazing into the box he took note of the contents. His clothes that were worn at the party including his tighty whities, and a sealed envelope with a little bit of bulkiness to it. Grabbing the envelope he quickly turned the box upside down empting the contents out onto his bed ensuring he hadn't accidently missed something. Satisfied that there wasn't anything left in the box he turned his attention fully to the envelope.
Flipping it over in his hand he noted the letters S.W.A.L.K. Shrugging as to what it meant he tore open the envelope and dropped its contents onto his bed. The first thing to catch his eye was a slender gold necklace that had a heart shaped locket attached to it. Thumbing over the gold locket his finger found a small nub which of course he pressed. Springing open Mikkle's eyes fixated on the pictures contained within. On the left was Xar in a snazzy blue business suit with a silver stripped tie and soft smile with hungry eyes that practically screamed _"come get me". _ On the right side was a picture of Mikkle, one that he happened to recognize from last years college Christmas party. He sported a cheesy Christmas sweater and had a shocked expression and soda flying from his mouth.
Mikkle couldn't help but roll his eyes at that picture softly muttering about how that picture was getting replaced A.S.A.P. His paws next moved to the letter that had fallen out with the locket. Trembling hands slowly unfolded the paper as his eyes began scanning over the writing.
"Dearest Mikkle,
I must firstly apologize for my absence during your recent visitation to my house. I regret that business required me to away for the last month and upon my return my steward promptly informed me of your attempts to contact me. I am afraid in my haste to depart I neglected to leave special instructions in the event you did visit and again I apologize for this oversight.
I hope that by time you receive this letter it finds you in both good health and good spirits. Hopefully the locket is not too forward of me but allow me this moment to be completely open an frank with you Mikkle. What we shared that night is something I dare not presume to spend another night without you. When you rested in my arms, dearest Mikkle my world felt right for the first time in my life.
I do believe that perhaps I may be speaking out of turn though and perhaps your feelings are not the same and if that be the case then I surely do not hold you at fault in any manner. In either event though, I would ask that you please visit my estate at your earliest convenience so that we may give discourse to this matter at some length.
In the mean time however I wish to impose upon you a favor though I realize I may have no right to do so. I have not been able to contact James in spite of my best efforts and my heart is burdened with the thought he may feel guilty over the incident that occurred that day. If you would be so willing to pass on the message to your brother that I fully understand and forgive what he did that day. In a similar situation I may have well acted in the same manner as he.
In closing Mikkle I can simply state that you have captured my heart.
Love,
Xenthar Estaban Dabenvorte
Xenthar Estaban Dabenvorte
P.S. In the event you are unsure what S.W.A.L.K is; it means Sealed With A Loving Kiss."
Falling from between his numb fingers the letter landed softly upon the mouse's bed. Mikkle felt everything starting to spin around as fresh tears began to stream down his cheeks unchecked. His paws pressed over his eyes as he allowed himself to sob. This time though they were tears of relief and you as he screamed out "He loves me".
As his mind reeled with this revelation one thought crept in and gripped hold of him "what do I do now?" His eyes glanced out the window to the down pouring rain before Mikkle softly muttered in a self deflating "guess I have no choice but to wait for the storms to pass."
Pulling his knees back up to his just he could feel that depression gripping upon his chest again and just as he was about to give up on the feelings of joy a memory seemed to ring up to him as though an angel descended from the heavens. "The one thing I learned is to never give up on love."
Smiling Mikkle softly chided Bruce "Damn you for having sound advice."
With renewed resolve Mikkle leapt to his feet tossing off his pajama bottoms and undies. Moving over to his dressing he selected a fresh pair of briefs selecting a blue pair instead of his usual white ones. White socks, a pair faded blue jeans with hole just above the left knee. Moving over to his closet he browsed the selection of shirts before finally deciding on a black polo and grey hoodie.
Before slipping out the door he grabbed the locket and placed it over his chest. Clicking it closed and gripping it tightly in his hand he spoke reverently "I'm coming Xenthar."
His converse's carried him quickly from the dorms. Breaching the exit doors he was instantly hit with bitterly cold rain and whipping winds. Casting a glance over to his scooter he realized that it would be no good as the waters were already half up the tire. With steely resolve Mikkle started a sprint through the down pour towards his heart's desire.
His feet sloshed constantly in the overflowing waters, even the sidewalks were covered with water but he wouldn't allow this to stop him just a few miles and he would be in Xar's arms again. It was that thought that kept him moving through the frigid rain drops that relentlessly pounded him attempting to dissuade him from his objective. Whipping gusts threatened to blow him off of his feet as he ran as fast and hard as he could manage.
Finally two and half hours later Mikkle found himself standing in front of the large gates that blocked entry to Xenthar's home. Panting heavily with exhaustion he managed to press a numbed finger against the call button. Time seemed to slow down as his vision started to blur and his head was spinning but he struggled through these distractions. He couldn't, wouldn't allow anything to stand between him and his dream.
The voice emitted from the speaker brought Mikkle's attention back to focus "How may I be of assistance?"
Bracing up against the stone pillar that the speaker was built into, he jammed down the button again "I'm here for Xenthar. My name is Mikkle"
A lingering silence followed. It seemed as those hours were slipping by though in reality it had only been perhaps a few minutes. Finally an electrical buzz sound emitted from the device and the gates swung open as a voice came from the speaker again "Come in Mister Mikkle, I shall inform master Xenthar of your arrival."
Mikkle's heart raced thumping as he realized that in just a few more minutes and he would be face to face with the dragon that had captured his affections. The bright smile quickly faded as he took a few steps. His legs suddenly turned to mush and he found himself crashing to the pavement landing with a heavy thud. Trying desperately to push himself up he found it impossible to raise himself up. Noting his heart was racing but not from the thought of seeing Xar. Something was wrong he could feel it deep within his being. Managing to flip over onto his back he stared up at the gray sky which was now swirling in tight quick circles. Before he knew blackness crept up over his vision engulfing his site then he lost feeling in every part of his body as unconsciousness consumed him.
The tuxedoed Scottie walked into the large room taking note of the large dragon reading the paper in his favorite chair. Beside him sat a finely crafted tea set with a single cup holding the dragon's English breakfast blend one of his more preferred flavors. Realizing that the initial plan of his presence being enough to draw the dragon's attention he resorted to the tried and true method of loudly clearing his throat.
Xar dropped the paper down fixating his gaze unto his butler "Something the matter Gillespie?" His voice was of a neutral tone.
Giving a slight nod Gillespie cordially replied "Master Xenthar there is a Mikkle here to see you."
The cup the dragon was preparing to bring to his lips fell numbly from his hand shattering upon the floor. With widened eyes Xar didn't bother to respond but dashed through the door and down the stairs leaving the paper still floating towards the floor by time he exited the room.
Standing dumfounded by the sudden blur of motion that flew past; it took a few moments before his legs received his brain's command to follow after his master. By the time he had reached the front door Xar was already returning inside. His arms held a limp white form and his clothes soaked through.
Clearing the entryway Xar quickly moved to the guest bedroom barking out orders as he moved. "Gill, contact the doctor right away. Catalina, bring blankets to the guest bedroom. Horace, boil some water."
The staff exploded into a blur of motion each moving to complete their assigned task as Xar entered into the bedroom laying Mikkle lightly upon the bed. He began the task of removing the mouse's soaked clothes until he was left in nothing but his tighty whities. Temptation crept into the dragon's mind about removing the underwear so he could glimpse the mouse's goods. Perhaps had it been any other male he certainly wouldn't have hesitated for an instant but this was the man that he loved.
Knowing that the staff would be arriving shortly he shut his eyes and removed the last remnants of Mikkle's clothing and placing the bed covers over the lower half of his body. Just as he finished covering up his lover a curvaceous fox entered the room with an armful of blankets.
"Here are the blankets you request mister Xar" Her tone carried a thick Latin accent.
Shortly following behind her was a large pig dressed in a chef's uniform and carrying a large pot of water that had steamy curling from its top. "Mister Xar?" His voice a clear inquiry as to what he was supposed to do.
"Place the pot over there and get me some rags. Cat, sit the blankets in the chair." Pointing a finger towards the carpet next to him.
The staff quickly followed the dragon's orders and just as quickly exiting the room once they had finished their assigned tasks. Gill entered the room and informed the dragon that the doctor was on his way.
Xar set to his own task dipping the rags into the hot water and sponge bathing the mouse. He took great care to get every spot possible save for his private regions. Once he completed that task he then gently laid a couple blankets on top of the mouse. Just as he was about to plop down into his chair a large stripped cat walked into the room carrying a large bag with him.
"I am to assume this is my patient?" His voice held a soft tone of concern beneath a layer of weariness.
Xar nodded silently as he flopped into a leather chair allowing the doctor to set to work on his patient. After a few minutes of examination, the cat turned back to the dragon "well good news, he is going to live. Bad news he is slightly hypothermic, has a respiratory infection, malnourished, and suffering from exhaustion."
Xar's face became tense with concern as he started to mouth something but was quickly interrupted "No need to worry i brought the necessary items to take care of everything. Just make sure you get a good hot meal in him once he wakes up."
After the doctor completed his task and said goodbye Xar slumped down into the chair the fatigue of the whole ordeal taking its toll on him as he closed his eyes allowing sleep to overcome. His last vision before the sweet embrace of slumber engulfed him was of Mikkle lying in the bed resting comfortably.
To Be Continued.
