Zane and Ruli begin taking Rosy on in the gym, but their battle is interrupted midway by the return of Steve.

If you desire a part in the story, either as a pokemon or trainer, please send me a message to talk about it. (I'll also do cameos of trainers and pokemon for filler chapters where they will battle Zane and Ruli and the rest of his team (Winning or losing said battle not decided in advance, but gym leaders are off limits)) I need trainers for the pokemon who can assume the new mega forms in Pokemon X and Y. Those pokemon themselves I've already created personality wise, and would like their trainers to match them, but if you want to nickname them we can talk about that, or also, you could suggest (Or become) the last of Zane's (Three spots have been claimed) remaining pokemon members to fill. (As well as their nickname, right now, I am preferring an electric type to fill out Zane's team, but I'll discuss others as a possibility if none are given).

Chapter 16

When I woke the morning after, the rush I felt when I realized it was time for another gym battle got me moving before the others. I was just very eager to battle in my new body, to test what I could do.

I was ready to leave long before Zane and Silver were, as I paced anxiously by the door. My tail lashed back and forth as I waited for Zane to get done in the shower, Silver watching me and tilting his head a few times.

"Why are you so impatient Ruli?" He asked me at one point as I paced.

"Huh?" I paused in my pacing to look at him and shook my head, "I'm just really eager to try out what I can do now."

He giggled lightly at me and he said, "But you've barely done any training. I mean, sure you've been in some actual battles, but only one of them you were in your own body and using your own ability."

"He's got a point." Raze said afterwards in my mind, "You have no training in how to use your own power now. You can't make an aura sphere or use water pulse or anything like that unless you're using my body, and even then it's only because the aura flows naturally through me."

"Then can you teach me?" I thought back to him.

"Not within the little amount of time you have left before you battle that gym leader."

I sighed lightly and rubbed my temple a moment, "Then," I said out loud, "I guess I'll have to stick to my old moves for now, they're still more powerful."

"You have me too!" Silver barked eagerly, "I can battle!"

I smiled and nodded, "Yes, I know Silver." And it was now I realized, it was up to Zane which one of us would fight first.

______________________

The gym was well prepared for us when we arrived, three of the trainers that worked there were waiting to guide us in. This gym was bigger than the others, and it was explained as we walked through it that it was also a greenhouse. We passed by a few rooms in which the room was flooded with sunlight, most of the ceiling was open and let sunlight pour onto the many plants there.

As we walked by them I could barely see the pokemon inside, all green or other brightly colored pokemon, waving around between the many plants inside. There's was more pokemon than there were plants I realized, which is why at first, I had thought there wasn't any in there, they all looked like plants.

"It's like a home away from home for them." Fredrick said as he was looking with me, "It's the safest forest they could possibly have."

"The amount of pokemon that visit us here has increased since that Charmander started messing around in the forest. It's so strange...we don't know what's been making him attack everyone."

"He seemed very upset over something." Zane agreed. I had told Zane about what the Charmander had said about trainers and pokemon. "But its a shame he managed to get away, I'll have to try again later."

Two of the trainers opened a wide double door for us, and we had to shield our eyes a moment as they adjusted to the bright shine of the sun up in the sky. As I was able to move my arm to see, staring up, I saw that the ceiling here was just like the greenhouses, except for one thing I noticed as I felt a breeze waft through my fur and saw the leaves from outside flittering down onto the ground of the arena.

There was no ceiling at all, unfiltered sunlight shining down into the room brightly. There was absolutely no other form of light here, no light bulbs or anything hung from the ceiling. The fresh air was amazing here, inside a building, it was something unexpected.

"Whoa..." Zane breathed next to me as he managed to lower his arm to the bright shine.

"Welcome to the Gracel Gym!" Rosy's cheery voice called at us. She was kneeling close to the other end of the stadium, a blue colored pokemon with bright green and wavy leaves sprouting from its head close to her, as it danced in the sunlight.

Rosy stood up as we entered slowly, "Oddish, can you head back in please? We'll play more later all right?" She smiled at the plant pokemon, who nodded rapidly and then danced away from her, singing to itself as it walked past us and went with two of the trainers, one of whom stayed and proceeded over to the referee box.

"So Zane." Rosy said as we stood close by, "Are you ready for this? A two on two battle?"

"Yeah I'm ready!" Zane said and he looked at me and Silver with a smile.

"Then let's get this show on the road!" She clapped her hands a moment before dashing off to her end of the stadium, and Zane and us did the same. Fredrick walked up into the stands and he sat down to watch, his hands held over his chin.

Zane turned toward Silver and I again as he whispered, "Okay, so, I'm gonna send in Silver first."

I blinked, "Why do that?"

"Cause, she's seen what you can do already, and I bet she's prepared to fight you first, so we'll throw her for a bit of a loop for now by sending in Silver first. Besides Ruli, grass types are affected very much by fighting type moves, you may be stronger than Silver overall, but her pokemon won't take as much damage from you as they will from Silver."

I folded my ears back, nodding reluctantly, "I see...all right then Zane." I was disappointed, they both could see it, but I knew it made sense. I suppose I would have to wait my turn to fight.

"Are you ready Silver?" Zane asked the smaller pokemon, who jumped a bit and yipped.

"Yes!" Silver said and he dashed out into the middle of the arena in front of Rosy.

"Oh, starting out with the smaller pokemon huh? Well all right then," She reached to her belt and took off one of the few pokeballs she had hanging there. "Let's see how you fair." She threw the ball, the flash of white light that shot from it forming into a small shape, before it flashed and a small weed like pokemon was standing there.

"Bellsprout, ready to go!" Rosy shouted and the pokemon made a momentary gurgling noise before it spoke.

"Ah sunlight!" It made a sound as it tilted its flower like head up to the open ceiling, before it looked back at Silver and it wiggled in place. "And a battle! It's good to get to have some fun." It was hard to tell if it was a boy or girl, as a plant, there wasn't much showing.

The referee trainer introduced us and readied us to begin, before she waved her arms down and Rosy immediately shouted, "Bellsprout, use vine whip!"

A long and slithering vine emerged from the weed like body of the pokemon, and I shivered as I remembered the Snivy from when I had battled her. "Watch out Silver!"

"Silver use quick attack to dodge!" Zane shouted out after me, and the vine slashed out at the canine, who jumped to the side as the vine smashed into the ground, leaving a streak of white behind him as he used jumped to the side, and then he ran at the grass pokemon.

"Sunny day!" Rosy called out after, and the Bellsprout lifted his head up to the ceiling, his body glowing a moment, and then the intensity of the sun's rays seemed to grow hot and bothersome. Silver stopped in the middle of his attack, having to close his eyes against the intensity of the heat and light. I had to shield my eyes as well from the light, squinting to try and see.

"Solar beam!" the intense light in the stadium seemed to get sucked into the middle of the room, into the gaping mouth of the grass type as it was taking a deep breath. As the last bright rays were sucked into his mouth, and we were able to stop squinting against the light before the pokemon closed his mouth, and then his head seemed to bloat out hugely.

"Fire!" Rosy shouted while pointing, and the Bellsprout opened his maw again, a beam of white energy shooting forth.

"Silver!" Zane shouted, but the Eevee was still just recovering from the bright light of the sunny day move, shaking his head clear and opening his eyes just as the beam of light energy shot at him, not giving him enough time to react. The beam slammed into him, but it seemed to engulf him as it continued forth around his body. He still screamed out in pain however, as the beam eventually shut off from the other pokemon's mouth and it vanished, leaving a few sparkles in the air.

The attack had only lasted a few seconds, but Silver's body was covered in what looked like burn marks, smoke rising from his body as he stood in place, shaking.

"Silver!" Zane yelled to him again, and the Eevee groaned, before he fell forward and planted face first into the ground, the rest of his body slumping as he passed out right away.

"No way." Zane whispered as the referee rose an arm, "Eevee is unable to battle, the first win goes to Rosy and Bellsprout!"

I jumped out to pick up Silver and brought him back to Zane, laying him on the ground gently as he groaned and opened his eyes, "S-sorry, I let my guard down."

"Relax bud." Zane said as he patted my shoulder, "Your turn Ruli, be careful about that beam."

I nodded, I was surprised Silver had been taken out so quickly, that beam must have been really powerful. I stepped out in the middle of my side of the arena, the grass pokemon had to stare up at me.

"Ohhh you're bigger, this one will be more fun."

"For me maybe." I growled and clenched my fists.

"Ruli, force palm!"

I dashed up close quickly, my longer feet letting me take longer strides and get the Bellsprout by surprise as I clapped my paw on its head, a blast of energy blasting from my palm as I made contact.

The Bellsprout shouted out in surprise, skidding back along the arena floor as Rosy squeeled, "Oh he's so fast! Use sunny day!"

The grass pokemon dug its rootlike feet into the ground, stopping itself and pointing its head up to the sky again, the sun's rays turning bright and harsh again.

I was prepared though, lifting up my arm to shadow my eyes from the bright light, so I could still clearly see the other pokemon.

"Go Ruli, another force palm!" Zane shouted at me as Rosy shouted back for another solar beam, as I ran at my opponent again, pulling back my other paw to gather energy into it.

The rays of sunlight were just beginning to feed into his mouth as I slapped him, another blast of energy exploding from my paw and pushing him along the ground once more, but he lost his footing and started to tumble around the ground, coming to a stop and struggling back up slowly, but I wasn't going to let him. Keeping my paw up to block out the still harsh rays of light, I ran up and jabbed at it again, using another hard force palm to blast it into the ground as it struggled to get back up.

I stood over it as the dust settled, and he stayed laying in the ground tiredly and groaning, and the referee shouted, "Bellsprout is unable to battle, the second win goes to Lucario and Zane!"

"Way to go Ruli!" Silver shouted out to me from where he was resting on the ground.

Rosy called her pokemon back with the pokeball, and she took out another and pressed the button to get ready.

"This isn't over yet, time for my partner to take the show!"

Just as she was about to throw the ball though, a small earthquake shook the building and we paused in surprise as it rattled the building, making dust shake from the roof around us while we tried to keep our footing.

When another rocking earthquake came, this one much stronger, I fell to my knees and paws as the ground shock, and Zane and Rosy fell to their sides, holding themselves up as we looked up at the ceiling, as more dust fell from it. Silver was wobbling about on the floor, unable to stand as he was still quite injured.

"What's going on?" I asked quietly as another earthquake shook us, then another quickly after, making me bounce along the floor a bit and then suddenly, something big shadowed over the opening of the ceiling, blocking out the sun and casting the arena mostly in shadow.

"What the HECK is that!?" Fredrick shouted from the stands, where he was gripping tightly onto the railing of the stands, as we all looked up, the shadow coming into focus for us.

"It's...a giant spider?" Raze said in my head questioningly as I stood up, the giant bug lowering itself slowly.

"How nice it is to see you again..." My eyes popped open at the sound of the voice, and I felt Raze freeze up at the same time.

"It can't be..." he growled.

"D-dad?!" Zane shouted from across the arena and the giant spider, which I realized now was really a very big machine of some kind that crawled on only four legs, slowly crawled its way into the stadium through the roof. It stayed over me, and the body tilted to show us a control room tucked inside the body, and I saw the large man inside it. Steve. He was wearing a different uniform this time around though. It was close to his last one, but it was a more bright orange.

I growled, my ears going flat against my head as I tried to crawl backwards away from the giant spider machine, but the front two large arms stabbed into the ground right next to me and I froze up.

"Ruli!" Zane shouted and I watched Steve push a few buttons in the room, a mouth like opening appearing on the body and it shot out a net, covering me. The net pulled up, taking me with it, it was covered in a sticky webbing, just like an actual spider.

"Not again!" I shouted out as I struggled against the net, and then Rosy shouted out, "Petal Dance!"

Hundreds of bright red petals cut through the net, releasing me and I tumbled down to the ground. I tried to catch myself, but part of the net still clung to me and weighed me down. I crashed and groaned as I tried to look up, a large pokemon with a large and brightly colored flower like head standing over me.

"Vileplume, continue the dance!" Rosy shouted, and the new grass type pokemon began to dance around me, hundreds more red petals shooting from her brightly colored head and striking the machine. It didn't seem to do much though, as Steve only pushed a few more buttons, the machine turning down at me and the Vileplume again as it shot out another net.

The Vileplume was caught with me, and Rosy shouted, "Oh no!"

We both were lifted up into the air again, but now it was Silver that shouted.

"I won't...let you take him!" I looked over at Silver as he struggled to his feet. There was no way Silver was going to reach us in time.

But that was when he shouted out and his tail stood on end, bright colored yellow stars appearing by his body. He seemed to strain as they shoot forward, and he fainted again from the effort of this new move he seemed to learn on the spot. I watched the stars fly at me, but they went off course and past me, slicing into the net that held the Vileplume, she fell back to the ground, but I was helpless as the net entered the machine, and the opening closed up with me inside.

It was pitch dark, but I could hear Steve's and everyone else's voices.

"Let him go dad! I won't let you take him again!"

Steve laughed, "How so? You have no other pokemon to help you right now son!"

"Vileplume! Vine whip!" I heard Rosy shout, but then she cried, "noooo not yourself! focus!"

Steve laughed loudly, "Ahahaha, you must love the secondary affects of a powerful like petal dance. I'll be taking my leave now that I have what I need."

I could feel the machine move, as it made clanking noises and I heard Zane call out for me and I sighed to myself. Once again, I was being kidnapped.

___________________

The clanking noises continued for a long while, I could hear trees being rustled underneath the large machine as it made its way to who knew where.

"This...sucks..." I whined as I just hanged there in pitch darkness, suspended by the net that held me hostage.

"Indeed...I knew he would be back, but the nerve to do so in the middle of a battle..." Raze growled back as he sighed as well, "I still need more time to recharge too...otherwise we could bust out of here easily."

I rode out the time, sighing more and more until the machine finally came to a hissing stop, as it powered down and I felt it shake as it settled down.

The hatch soon opened up and I had to squint against the light once more until I adjusted and Steve was standing before me, with quite a few other people wearing the same uniform he was, a strange flame like symbol etched into the front of their shirts.

"This is the Lucario?" one of them asked and Steve nodded.

"Yes, the gem is there, on that necklace around his neck."

"Ah yes, the Mega Lucario gem."

"What...?" Raze whispered lightly, "They know of me..."

"This is bad..." I growled out lowly and bared my teeth as they started to reach in for me.

"Get the sleeping gas..." the one who had first spoke said and Steve left, returning with a container with a hose, which he sprayed into the compartment. I coughed, closing my eyes as I was forced to inhale the gas, which invaded my body and I felt myself quickly passing out, as Raze yelled at me.

When I came too, I felt groggy and sluggish, rising up slowly onto my paws and knees, I heard a voice grumble at me nearby.

"You're finally awake huh?"

I opened my eyes and looked up, I was inside a small cage, a fence separating me from the owner of the other voice. I saw the flame on the tail tip of the other pokemon, and I blinked.

"I got caught after out little fight by that same guy." He told me as I sat up, but barking in surprise as my head hit the ceiling of the small cage.

I had to stay crouched over as I blinked awake still, "Charmander...? What...where are we?"

"Some kind of facility, they tossed you in there a few hours ago, and took that necklace on your neck off."

I touched my neck, he was right, Raze wasn't there. The necklace was gone. I tried to reach out to him with my mind, but he was too far away I guessed, I couldn't sense him anywhere.

"How long have you been in here?" I asked him instead as I focused on him, and he turned his head to me to stare at me.

"About a day, I came back for those sandwiches you left behind, but then that guy caught me in the same kind of net and I was brought here." I heard his stomach growl loudly then and he grimaced, turning his face away, "I haven't eaten in three days...I'm so freaking hungry..."

"Sorry..." I whispered and I looked out at the room we were otherwise caged up in. There were computer screens and other technological things everywhere. As far as I could tell, me and him were the only two in the room.

"Why did they bring you here?" I asked him and he turned toward me then, he was holding a gem like mine, it glowed bright in his hands.

"Cause of this it seems...it glows in my hands...and I can feel...a great warmth in it."

"It's..." I stared at it with my mouth half open, "That's one of the Mega gems, like mine..."

"A mega gem?" He asked me, staring at me, "You know what they are?"

"It has a spirit inside it, the spirit of a pokemon from many centuries ago."

"What do they want with them?"

"I don't know, perhaps they want you to merge with the spirit inside like I can with mine."

"Merge?" He continued to ask questions as he looked at me.

"It's like a momentary transformation, where you take on the body and power of the spirit inside the gem for a short time."

"How do I do that?"

"You have to evolve first I think, your current form wouldn't be able to handle the power."

He rolled his eyes, "Well that's just great, not like I can give them what the want locked up in a cage."

He turned away from me again as he held the gem close to his body, hiding the glow and I put my back to his, still having to slouch over a bit to avoid hitting my head on the ceiling. This was very uncomfortable, there wasn't enough room in this cage for me to lay down either, I had to keep my legs curled up close to me.

It was hours still until someone finally came into the room, I had started to doze off and I shot awake as they opened the door loudly. I hit my head on the ceiling again, grunting as the human shouted.

"What do you mean you can't copy it's power!?"

"It's not like it's as simple as pressing copy paste!!" Another human screamed out as he followed him into the room. They stomped over to my cage then, and I clung to the doorway as I stared at them. "Each gem is different, each one radiates a different energy."

"This one transformed with the gem, something about it must be usable! Unlike this other one." He stared then at the Charmander in the other cage, who held the orb close to his body, the flame on his tail surging up as he bared his teeth.

"Get him out of that cage." He pointed at me and the other one looked at him.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes! Give him the gem back, monitor what happens, collect as much data as you can!"

"Should we...restrain him first...?"

"Of course you nitwit!"

The human hurried to get me out of the cage, and I didn't fight him. If they were going to take me to Raze I would let them. If he had enough energy by now to merge, we could bust out of here. I looked back at the Charmander as he watched me, giving a little smile. I followed the human into the hallway, as he guided me by holding both of my paws together to, trying to make sure I wasn't going to attack him.

He led me to a room that was again rounded with computer panels and a table in the middle of the room.

"Get on." The human told me sternly and I slowly jumped up onto the bed like table. He forced me to lay down and I grimaced lightly as he lashed down my feet and paws to the table with belt straps.

"Bring the gem." he said to another human who was entering the room, who turned around to hurry back into the hallway.

I soon felt Raze snap into my mind and he shouted, "Ruli! What's going on?!"

"Relax..." I thought back to him, "They're going to bring me to you, they seem to want to see us merge, I don't think they're expected the power though. Can you merge right now?"

"I just gathered enough energy for it." He said and I grinned.

"Good, just let them give you to me and then we'll get out of here."

I waited as I watched Raze be brought into the room, in the hands of the human, wrapped up neatly in a small cloth as if he was a precious treasure. In a way, I guess he was, but I was still curious as to what these humans wanted with the Mega gems.

"There's another mega here..." Raze said to me as he came closer.

"I know, it's with that Charmander I had fought before, back in the room I was last in, we'll go get him, just be patient."

Silence followed as the human gave the gem to the other one, and then he held it over my body. Raze glowed softly in the gem then and they all became very excited.

"Get the monitors on, I want this recorded!" A moment waited as the scientists rushed to turn on the monitors, and I saw pictures and video of me strapped to the counter appearing on each one.

"Now...slowly...bring the gem closer to him...but don't let it touch him!"

I went wide eyed, if they didn't let Raze touch me, then I couldn't merge with him. As the human brought the gem as close as he dared, I struggled against the straps to try and touch it so Raze could merge with me, but the straps held me down. Damn it we were so close!

As I struggled, I heard the scientists typing on their keyboards rapidly, until the one in charge shouted out again, "He has to touch it! You four!" He turned on four of the humans, "Hold down his straps!"

The four humans came forward, holding onto my paws and feet and then the human shouted again, "Let the gem touch his chest!"

The human holding Raze brought him down closer to me, gingerly and wearily, as I continued to struggle, and then finally, dropped him onto my chest. Raze unleashed his energy unto me as soon as we touched, the streams of red and black shooting out and quickly covering my body. The humans hands, reaching into the orb of energy even as it changed me, held on tight, until my the new spikes that grew close to my old ones poked from my body and they all gasped as it stabbed them.

"No you fools! Don't let him go!" The lead human shouted out as the orb exploded, my transformation complete as I shouted out, now in Raze's mega form. Raze's gem cluttered to the metal floor of the lab as I howled and pulled on the straps holding me down. They held me back a moment, but I felt them loosen, and was just about to give another heave when the four humans laid themselves onto my legs and arms, holding them down as best they could. I was still able to pull and strain, but their weight made sure I couldn't break the straps. I grimaced and howled out, pushed my body up off the table.

As I raged to get off, I felt a surge rush up from my belly inside me, and a haze started to form in my muzzle as I roared.

"Dragon Pulse!" Raze shouted in realization, and eventually as I kept shouting, the energy shot from my muzzle, smashing into the ceiling of the lab, making a few monitors hanging above fall around me and the humans, who jumped off of me in fear of their own safety.

I aimed my muzzle around the room, the beam of energy firing from my muzzle smashing into the computers as the humans all ducked under it. I ripped myself free of the straps then, closing my mouth and shutting down the stream of power as I jumped free.

"Hey, my gem!" Raze shouted at me and I stopped halfway through my escape to turn. I dodged a few humans that jumped at me to tackle me, one of them managing to grab one of the long head ornaments before I pushed him away. I retrieved the gem from the floor quickly and moved to dash away again, but the big human who was in charge stepped in front of the door.

"I don't think so." He growled at me as I ran at him, I wasn't going to let him stop me from getting out of here and returning to Zane. There was no holding back, even if he was a human.

I held my paw up as I rushed at him, an orb of blue energy forming in my paw as I did. He saw it and his eyes opened wide in realization, and he dared to continue standing there until I was about to jab him with the aura sphere, but he dodged just in time. I ran past him into the hallway, as he shouted.

"Stop him! Lock down the facility!" Alarms started to sound and blare throughout the

"We have to get out of here!" I shouted.

"But the mega!" Raze shouted back and I nodded, I had almost forgot. I turned down the corridor I had been led down, sticking my head into each room, not completely sure which one I had been in before, until I saw the Charmander in his cage, standing up as alarms blared in the room as well, a red light flashing on the wall at the same time.

He saw me then, not even reacting to my different look as I rushed into the room. "What's going on!?"

I came up to the cage and I raked it with the back of my paw, making an opening in the fence. I reached with my paw, wrapping it around his incredibly warm body that made the bones in my arm ache.

"We're getting out of here, just stay still and hold on tight to that gem, and for both our sakes, keep that flame on the tip of your tail as far away from me as possible!" I growled as I pulled him free of the cage, tucking him under my arm and turning back to the door, but more humans had joined us, pointing net guns at us.

"Don't let them get out!" one of them shouted and he shot his gun, a wide net flying through the air, covered in that same stickiness of the one that had captured me before.

I did a side step to dodge it, the Charmander under my arm yelping as I did and I felt his flame brush against my back, making me gasp out in pain at the heat as it heated my chest and the bones inside.

"Keep that flame away!!" I growled at him again and he pulled it away from my body as I panted in pain, my chest felt on fire, my heart thumping heavily as my rib cage surrounding it was superheated. This was a bad idea!

"We can't get out that way!" He shouted at me as three more humans poured into the room, each aiming a gun at me.

"Through the wall! Just bust through!" Raze yelled at me and I shouldered my free arm, running at the wall. The bones in this arm weren't being heated, so they held as strong as the steel they were made from as I slammed through the wall with minor pain. It crumpled around me and I dashed off to the left just as another net flew at me.

"After them!" The humans yelled as I ran through the corridors, the Charmander tucked under my arm still. He was dutifully keeping his flame tipped tail away from me, but his warm body was still enough to make my arm ache, and it was only getting worse and worse. He slipped a moment as my arm was becoming numb, and I switched him to the other arm as I panted and ran this way and that, taking random turns.

"Where's the exit!?" I shouted as I panted.

"Um...um..." The fire pokemon stared, "T-that way!" He pointed for me, while I continued to run.

I didn't have time to argue if he really knew, so I dashed where ever he pointed and I didn't stop until we came to a dead end.

"It's a dead end!" I growled angrily and he then pointed up.

"No! Go up!"

I looked up, there was a vent there, big enough for me to jump through easily, light pouring down from the outside world.

"Yes! It's a vent shaft!" He shouted and I crouched down.

"Grab onto me!" I told him and he latched onto my side with his body, his claws digging tightly into my fur. My body burned so much! As much as I wanted to save him, he was slowly draining my power!

I jumped as hard as I could, shooting up the shaft until I came to a still in the air, shooting out with my paws and feet to hold myself in the air vent, starting to crawl up it one movement at a time, moving my feet and paws slowly to hold myself there on the smoothness of the vent shaft.

"Easy..." I heard the Charmander whisper to me worriedly, "Slowly now...they're coming under us..."

I heard the humans soon after as the clamored under us, searching frantically while they looked back and forth in the small space. I continued to climb slowly, as quietly as I could manage as they shouted.

"Where did they go!?"

"I don't know!" Another shouted, "Back here maybe!"

Their feet stomped away, and as they faded into the background, I sped up again, as I inched up the shaft, panting heavily from the pain of the heat from my companions body.

"Almost...there..." I gritted my teeth as we were getting close to the end of the vent, the sunlight seemed so good.

I finally grabbed onto the edge of the vent, climbing out slowly. The Charmander hopped off of me as soon as he was able, standing there as I pulled myself free and laid on the ground, panting while I tried to recover from the pain in my body. Raze took his power back at that moment, the energy escaping from my body as I returned back to my normal form in a small flash of white light.

"Come on!" he shouted eagerly, pulling on my paw with his own smaller paws and arms, "We need to keep moving."

I struggled, trying to get up to my feet, but stumbled to my knees as I tried to move, "The heat...was too much...you should go, find Zane..."

"Your trainer?!" he shouted worriedly as he pulled on my paw again, pulling me again and making me fall flat against the ground again from my knees, "I can't! No! I hate trainers!"

"Please...find Zane..." I moaned as I felt myself starting to slip away, and the Charmander continued to pace back and forth around me as he whined and I heard him swearing to himself.

"Oh damn damn damn damn..." Until I heard no more from him and I started to pass out, but I could feel myself being dragged as I did.
