Eye for an eye - part 1
#1 of Eye for an eye
A shadow fell onto the small town of Ilsh, three large dragons flying about in the sky, this being a warning to the people of what is to become of their city. In the streets panic assumes as many begin to take shelter and cover in their houses or anywhere that could provide safety from these beings that sought to destroy them. One dragon began to fly lower, taking a dive toward a building, opening it's jaws and letting out an inferno onto the streets, no one was hurt, but a fire had be set along with the obvious destruction caused by the Dragons headfirst crash through one of the buildings, taking out one of the corners of the roof.
All three now landed in the middle of the town, eyes blazing in excitement as they all though of how they would dispose of those who had sent so many to try and kill them, remembering their father's words, demeaning those that were smaller than a dragon simple means to survive, food. "You should all just come out." Narsh, one of the dragons yelled. "It makes no matter where you hide we will find you, you've sent your best to kill us and we've proven ourselves better, and now we will claim our prize." Hearts sank through the city as these words were heard by all, species of all sorts. Kish, the second of the dragons added, "Unless you want to bring him out of hiding, your last warrior." Silence reigned as no one dared speak, Thugk, the last Dragon just grinned. "Very well, then your town shall suffer the consequences..." with that he ran headlong into a building, his 12ft frame shaking the foundations, his head pushing inside the door and letting loose another column of flames, which burst from the windows, the small structure now ablaze. Around the town his brothers were doing much the same, people beginning to exit and run as the 3 laughed, "You should have known better than to try and kill us after we warned you."
Narsh reached down, picking up a small lion who had been fleeing in 2 handpaws, grinning lightly as he opened his jaws, preparing to incinerate the smaller being, that is until a sharp pain entered his neck, a dull nulling sensation traveling his body as he turned around, his claw opening and dropping the feline, the dragon hardly able to stand now as his nervous system shut down. "You..." he said as he looked down slightly at a cloaked figure, only a muzzle to tell him who it is. "Did I miss all of the fun, already?" responded the figure who began to remove his cloak, revealing a muscular wolf. Narsh slowly fell to his knees opening his mouth, "I'll take you with me." Flames erupt from his muzzle as the wolf rolled to the side, the dragon letting out a groan before hitting the ground and falling silent. Ger, walks to the now dead dragon and pulls his sword out of Narsh's neck, the lion staring at Ger, "Your back..." Ger only nodded, "I am, Tobs." He smiles, "Get to safety while I take care of these two..." By now Narsh's brothers realize that their brother was dead and stared angrily at the warrior. "Who are you?" Kish growled as he neared the Wolf. "My name is Ger, I think you referred to me as the last warrior here. In fact I've been gone for a year or so, but it seems I've come back just in time to have some fun." Kish laughed loudly, "and you think you can defeat us?" The wolf only smiled, "Well, I guess we'll find out." Thugk walked up beside his brother, eyeing the shorter Wolf, the furry only coming up to about his chest. "I think we'll enjoy this one for dinner." Kish gave only a nod in agreement.
A small crowd had began to Gather about 100 yards behind Ger, the wolf grinning and beginning to slide his second blade out, "If you leave now, I won't harm either of you..." The two only bellowed another laugh, "save us your cowardice." They both rushed him, Kish taking to the sky, Thugk other staying on land. Kish came down with flames, a huge burst of fire coming from his muzzle as his Brother brought a low sweep with his claws toward Ger's feet. Ger, had already began a counter, jumping over the sweep and slashing down at Thugk's arm making the dragon roar as a large gash was made, Ger then rolling in the dirt as flames engulfed his body, but not for long enough as the kept rolling and then took cover behind a building, only the very tips of the fur on his right arm lightly singed... "I've never fought two at the same time before..." he says to himself as he looks from the side, Thugk clenching his arm as Kish began to fly into a better position from pinpointing the wolf. Thugk had recovered enough to attack again, moving toward Ger with fury, his eyes blazing as he began to fire straight down the Ally, Ger quickly, dodging out of the ally-way, and coming along Thugk's side, as the dragons head moved to aim his flames at Ger, Kish swooping down the do the same. At the last second, Ger pulled a rope from behind his sword sheath jumped over Thugk's flames, landing behind him just in time for Kish's flames to reach him, The dragon's rage making him notice his brother too slowly to do anything but stop from killing him. Ger's strike was quick; his sword coming down onto Thugk's neck, his last site was his brothers raging face melting into horror. Ger dodged once again, the flame narrowly missing him as he made his way to another structure just next to the road they were on, taking cover once again.
"One more...." He said to himself as he looked up, "You can leave at any time we don't have to finish this." he said, not wanting to harm the last of the family. Kish only roared in response mourning the death of his 2 brothers, wanting nothing more than to tear Ger limb from limb. Ger sighed lightly, thinking for a while as Kish began to search once again, "come out and fight like a true warrior, Wolf!" He yelled as his eyes glared down onto the roads, noticing the crowd that had gathered... "Better yet," Kish yelled once again, "Either you come, or they die." He said as he took off toward the furs of Ilsh. Ger perked and took off without a second thought, running toward the dragon as he easily made his way toward the villagers. Ger pulled a rope from behind his sword sheath, swinging the small black hook-like anchor on it aiming toward Kish as he threw it. The rope hit, twirling around the Dragons neck and locking, Kish grinning. "Bad Idea," He took to the sky Ger coming with him, the wolf gawking at his mistake as he was carried up, his senses making him let go before he was too high, landing with a thump on the ground, groaning lightly as he felt a sharp pain in his right arm. Kish landed, standing above him, Ger beginning to try and back away as the dragon grinned, pulling a foot up to pin Ger. But as he brought it down the Wolf pulled his legs up, pressing his own feet up against Kish's and then putting all of his strength into knocking the dragon off balance. Kish scrambled back a little as Ger rolled back, standing and then rushing Kish, the dragon blowing flames once he regains balance, but not fast enough, the rope around his neck being pulled hard, the dragon falling onto his stomach, a pain striking his neck as Ger pressed down unto him. "Nice try..." he says as the dragon struggled, Kish feeling his conscious slipping away... "You're not dying, I don't wish to kill off the last of Therin's children, however you're too dangerous to be loose, when you wake up, I think I have just what you need to see things my way..." That's the last that Kish heard as he fell unconscious, the wolf' grip on his neck letting up, the dragon unconscious.
Ger smiled and rubbed his forehead a large cheer coming from all around as people rushed in out of their hiding spots, singing and dancing. Many coming to thank the Wolf, others coming to welcome their friend back. Tobs came up to him and quickly gave a tight hug. "It's been so long, Ger." He says as he lets go, smiling to the Lupine. "It sure has" said Ger, grinning lightly, "I want to invite you to help me with this one, Tobs, I think some of your Techniques will do nicely for taming a dragon, don't you think?" he asks, the Lion blinking, "he's still alive?" Ger responding, "Yes, the last of Therin's children. I don't wish to end their family line, for I still care for Therin even after his betrayal." Tobs nods a little, "I think I could help, but where?" Ger points up a trail toward a small cave in the mountains just outside the city, "I've set a small camp there, I've been learning a few magic tricks, one will come in handy for this." The wolf grinned lightly, Tobs looked to where Ger pointed, "Well, shall we go? This interests me, I want to see this magic." Ger chuckles, "Well, I think we should get him out of here..." he began to heft the dragons front up, "Get the other side." He said to Tobs who did just that, the two working their way through the dancing crowd, though the many furs there made way for them to leave with the creature.
After making it back to the cave Ger began to prepare once again, he'd most likely be able to make this dragon into a good citizen, but Therin wasn't anyone's fool, Kish's father, if given the chance would seek revenge, and if Ger couldn't tame Kish fast enough, it could mean trouble.
