Poem: Smiling Mirage
So, this poem is a bit fantastical. Not to go into too much detail, but there's a fur I care for, and the random thought of "What if I went to meet her?" sprung up in my head.
Obviously that's a bit far-fetched, but I figured, exploring that would be a nice avenue for some poetry, before casting the thought aside. So, here's the outcome.
I'd walk across the desert sands, just to see your face
Cross all the miles, leave this god forsaken place
Make my way, across the road
To find a new home abode
In the end, all worthwhile
I just want to see your smile.
-
Take a step, hope it's right--
I don't want this to be a lonely night,
My pace, steady and slow--
My faith in you I'll show.
-
One foot forward, here I go
Down this path I wish I'd know
I'll make it there, eventually
Soon it will be just you and me.
-
So I walked across the desert sands, just to see your face
Crossed all the miles, left this god forsaken place
Made my way, across the road
Found a new home abode
In the end, all worthwhile
I finally got to see your smile.
