As the weeks turned into months the admiral eagerly put me through a living hell. Every time I put the armor on to use it in another grueling test the more I adapted to it. Oddly enough the more time that passed by I actually forgot I was wearing the armor. Sadly the Admiral knew that my tests with the armor would be coming to an end soon. He wasn't about to release me not until I was thrown into a live battlefield.

One day after yet another draining training exercise I reported to his office. After I removed my helmet then entered the room he was talking on his secure phone. "Admiral, do you have a moment sir, I need to talk to you about something." I said. Naturally his response was less than please but, I stuck around until he finished his conversation. While he did that but, made the mistake leaving the weapons lock remote nearby.

Lucky for me it was in perfect range for me to grab it with my long wolven tail. Waiting patiently for his attention to be elsewhere and his guard to drop completely. The second I saw my only opening, I swiftly knocked the remote into my hand. Quickly turning off the weapon's lock then I crushed the remote into several pieces. As he hung up then turned around all he saw was the multiple barrels of a mini gatling gun.

What do you think you're doing Zero? Where's the weapon remote for the armor?" He demanded. Motioning towards the floor where the pieces of the remote were scattered on the floor. Naturally he tried reaching for his side arm when I cut him off. Placing the gun only an inch away fro his face then arming the gun a second later. Doing the wise thing he lifted his hands up in the air, since the odds weren't in his favor.

"So what are you planning to do with me now, Zero? You know that you can't leave with the armor due to the tracking unit." He stated. Before I spoke I reached into a small pocket and pulled out something. With a flick of my wrist I tossed the item to him, which he caught. As he inspected it he recognized it was the armor's tracking chip. Considering I'm not prone to violence but, I was sorely tempted to bend that rule.

"Considering the living hell you put me through over the last thirteen months. I'm willing to leave here without causing a major bloodbath that would leave you with a ton of explaining." I stated. I watched his eyes as he tried to think of a way out of this situation. "So you are just going to leave without firing a single shot correct?" He asked. Nodding yes only if he didn't try anything foolish like stopping me from doing so.

"Fine, it seems that you've won this battle you can leave on one condition. I want you to remove all the ammo that armor has remaining and place it on my desk." He stated. "Do honestly think I'm that stupid you have no intention of letting me go?" I countered. He wasn't expecting me to see through his lie so quickly and tried to recover. "Zero, I stand by my word so remove the ammo and I swear you'll leave unharmed." He said.

"Seriously you must think I'm that stupid, the second I walk into the courtyard. A sniper will be waiting to put a large caliper round through my skull, so I think not." I stated. What the Admiral wasn't aware of is that during his daughter's visit we tweaked the armor. As I put the helmet back on he threatened to kill before I could leave the building. Not bothering with him anymore I walked towards the door as he drew his gun.

He quickly pulled the trigger only to watch the bullet fall to the ground with a clink. As I continued towards the door he emptied out both ammo clips he possessed. Though I didn't register any of the bullets hitting me but, I did hear his gun firing. While I kept walking down the long hallway the emergency alarm sounded off. The blaring noise hurt my ears but, I remembered how to cancel out unwanted noise.

As I made my way towards the main entrance several soldiers tried stopping me. They swiftly fired their assault rifles and machine guns until they ran out of ammo. Quickly falling back allowing another set of soldiers to try their hands at keeping me here. Once I finally stepped into the main hallway where the main entrance was located. The group of soldiers waiting there decided to bring out the heavy weapons.

Three of the closest soldiers fired hand held rocket launchers directly at me. Of course their aim was dead on and when the smoke cleared I was totally unharmed. The rest of the men fired everything at their disposal and once the smoke cleared again not a scratch. Oddly enough I knew their munitions were exhausted I proceeded forward. Walking past them I noticed the doors were barricaded with titanium chains and bars.

Undanium can be used in multiple forms including being applied like spray paint. Extending one of the four heat rod blades then swiftly cut the door off the hinges. The door hit the ground with a loud bang I stepped outside for the first time in over a year. I had to be stopped but, how could I when I've been hit with just about everything. Before they could re-group I unleashed all the gatling guns the armor had.

As I turned around to face the building the soldiers immediately fell back. Figuring that the gatling guns weren't ver accurate over medium to long distances. Unfortunately what they didn't know was the guns were loaded with high velocity rounds. I aimed all my guns at the walls above and around the entrance then fired in a continuous burst. The wall fell apart closing up the only way out, allowing me to escape.

Once the ammo was all used up then activated the thrusters and took flight. Sadly the flight thrusters could only be used in short bursts but, that's all I needed. The second I was over the defense wall, I put as much distance between me and that hellhole. By the time I checked the odometer I was sixty miles away from my previous location. That wasn't nearly as far enough away to my liking and kept going until the fuel was empty.

After walking for several more hours I decided to find a place to sit and rest. My ears were acute enough that I could hear anyone coming from miles away. Falling asleep for a couple of hours to regain some of my spent energy before moving out. I kept this pace up for the next four days, traveling at night and sleeping in the daytime. Hunting with this heavy suit on was a royal pain in the tail until I recalled something.

The armor had another function so I activated it then the armor transformed. "That'll make things a lot easier though I'd better find myself some clothes. Seeing as there's nobody around perhaps running on four legs would be safer." I mumbled. As the transformation ended the armor had converted into a large sports watch. I continued my journey on all fours it was amazing how much ground I could cover.

The only problem I faced was where could I hide seeing as I stood out a lot. Looking back through my memory the old lab was closed down due to the Admiral. That would probably be my best bet for a make shift home until I found something better. Now the first thing I needed to do before making such a trek was to disguise myself. Next locate a nearby populated area then track down a map to find my current location.

Luckily while trying to get my bearings I saw a local cop watching traffic. I calmly made my way over to the car hoping he or she wouldn't mind helping me out. "Excuse, me officer I'm a little lost could you help me if you don't mind?" I asked. The female cop was happy to help though she never turned her head to look at me. "I know this might sound like a strange question but, could you tell me exactly where I am?" I asked.

"Sure, you're in the quiet town of, Winter Thrush, Wyoming about fifty miles south of Montana." She replied. Thanking her for her help I wisely walked away before she chose to look. Good, I was only a hundred and seventy-five miles from the lab, about a five day trip. That's if I stop once along the way, so I headed back towards the forest. This wasn't going to be difficult unless something ironic occurs.

Of course the Admiral hasn't been able to track me, hopefully it stays that way. I figured if I travel for two days straight then rest for day and hoof for another two days. Then I should get there roughly by Monday afternoon or early Tuesday morning. Once that was sorted out I moved out before someone noticed me standing in the open. Seeing as I wanted to avoid any unnecessary attention from any curious eyes.

It was a long five day trip but, I was finally on the outskirts of my destination. Just for kicks I wanted to see my old home only if to see if it was vacant or not. Taking a two hour detour I walked slowly up the driveway and into the backyard. What I saw next shocked me, a small family had moved into my family's old home. Naturally it was out of my control but, I was happy to see someone enjoying the place.

As I kept walking through the yard I was discovered by a little girl on the patio. "Mommy, come here an look at the large white doggy." The little girl smiled pointing at me. She came walking outside and I instantly recognized Sierra just as she replied. "That's wolf sweetie...a very large one at that." She said looking at me funny. The look I gave her suggested to her if you want answers then follow me old friend.

"Earl, please come take, Brittany inside I need to check out something." She stated. He came to get her then they returned inside the house without a word. Sure enough I heard her footsteps moving through the brush towards me. "You can come out of hiding I'm not going to hurt big fella." She pointed out. Before stepping out of the shadows I slowly stood upright then approached Sierra.

"How do I know you're not going to call your father and tell him where I am?" I asked. Sierra flinched back considering it's been a long time since we've seen each other. "Sierra, come now do you honestly think I'm going to fall for that kind of act. Perhaps you'll remember this mark your father gave me after relocating me to his R&B Base." I said. Her mind was quick to switch gears upon seeing the brand on my right shoulder.

From there she asked me a ton of questions regarding the past few weeks. I was happy to share with her the events leading up to this very night, leaving nothing out. Sierra wasn't all that shocked about her father trying to kill me to prevent me from escaping. Though she did have one little request seeing as I was heading towards our old lab facility. Before I left to go there I asked her about the lab's current condition out of curiosity.

"I won't lie to you it's kind of run down but, at least nobody will bother you. Luckily our department is underground so you can work in complete safety." She smiled. The other cool thing was I can resume my research after two years of hell. "Devin, there's something you need to know before you go to the lab." She stated nervously. Upon hearing that something told me it wasn't good news she was going to share.

To be continued.
