Thank you soo much for the reception chapter 8 received. It really motivated me to continue this.

Ill say sorry now but there isn't any real sex scene in this chapter. The chapter ended on such a good note it only seemed to cheapen it by adding smut. I promise I WILL do a future scene between these two, most likely in the next chapter.

As always comments and feedback are always appreciated. Even if its to say that you enjoyed it or you hated it.

Hope you enjoy the next cheesy chapter :)

Chris

"So what do you think of the new guy?" Crellen asked as he nibbled on the wolf's neck; causing him to giggle. They were in the coach's office after school for the second time that week. Chris felt secure in the bear's arms, content to just lay against him as the product of the past couple of hours leaked from his tailhole.

"Alex? He's cute. Although I think he's already found someone to shack up with."

"What already?" the coach said, shocked. The bear shifted his voice to sound like an old man "Kids these days, no sense of patience or courtship nooo... they just jump straight in there don't they?" Chris laughed and poked Crellen in the abs, eliciting a low rumble. "I don't think _'_jump _straight_in' is the right term. It's Zack that he's getting it on with." The coach nodded his consent. "They'll make a cute couple" "That they will" Chris agreed. They sat like that for a few more minutes before the wolf yipped aloud in surprise. A finger had started playing this his leaking hole. "How about round three?" Crellen whispered in his ear, and that's all it took.

***

Chris smiled to himself as he rode his scooter home, feeling the warm wetness between his legs. Ever since Crellen and he had had their first "accident", they started having more of them on purpose. The bear was a great guy and Chris loved the time they spent together, but he couldn't help but feel a little left out. He loved the coach like a father (or a rather perverted uncle), but he felt there was something missing. There wasn't a true connection. The best he could describe the relationship was "fuckbuddies". Though it made him feel a little selfish, the wolf wanted more than that; and he knew that Crellen wasn't going to be the one who could give it to him. All that remained what the question he kept asking himself:

Who?

*** Blair

***

The white wolf groaned as he rolled over in his bed. The clock red 12:34am in bright red light. He'd been awake for the past 2 hours trying to get to sleep.

This issue had been occurring more and more ever since he saw Chris and the coach together. Every time he thought about it he could feel the twinge in his gut. It wasn't anger so much as irritation. Every molecule within him wanted to have a firm talk with the bear and take back what his hormones had decided was his property. It was stupid to think that he could though: he had barely said one word to Chris in the past year so it's not like he could actually prove he had any connection to him. However every time he saw those sad, far away eyes he just wanted to pick the brown wolf up and kiss him deeply.

The group started back when Blair was in year 9. He, Jack and Avery were in the same year so they had known each other for quite some time; Zack and Murray were year 8, and Dean and Chris started together in year 7. No one could really point out the exact moment when they had become a group, but somehow they all gravitated towards one another and before long they had officially taken their space around one of the heaters.

Back then Chris had always been a bit shy, but was never afraid to open up when given encouragement. He participated in whatever mischief they got into, at times coming up with ideas and pranks himself that they played on the teachers. No one figured it out though because they were so good at covering for each other. In that time he and Blair became firm friends; and soon he could think of nothing each day but playing with the younger wolf. He took up wrestling so he could try to keep up with Chris' skill, but he still always ended up flat on his back in 10 seconds.

However all that changed around June the year before. Chris started to slowly distance himself from the group; though using completely reasonable excuses of course. It's just that it kept happening more and more often until at some point he just wasn't there: he was on another table, all by himself. Any conversation he tried to have with the wolf came back with a sad, lonely smile and some short answers, enough to close the conversation and send him back on his way.

Blair blamed himself. Chris must have seen his feelings and wanted to let him down gently. Blair himself only became aware of those same feelings a month or so later when he woke up with a full knot and sticky sheets. He'd tried on numerous occasions to get the problem out of Chris - they all had - but by the end of the year they'd all given up and left the brown wolf to do his own thing.

Until now he thought it was because Chris wasn't gay. He saw the smug grins the wolf gave the girls so it made sense. Now that he was sure it was something else, he had to make his move...

Which is why three weeks later he hadn't any sleep for five days in a row, and yet still had done nothing.

Blair sighed and put some music on. He stretched his 6"2 frame and yawned sleepily. The wolf has no idea how Avery was still taller than him.Honestly that mountain should be on a basketball team. He thought. On the upside, no player wanted to come near the husky when he was on the oval so the school currently had an unbroken streak of winning matches.

Blair's blue eyes scanned the dim room. The slow electronic beats helped to relax him a little as he made sure everything was ready for tomorrow. Chances are he was going to sleep in so the least he can do is be ready for it.

Today I will tell him. That mantra had been in his head for the past three weeks as well, and it still had yet to happen.

*** Chris ***

It was lunch break again. Today the tension in the air was palpable as St Valentine decided to weave his magic again on the 14thof Feb. To Chris, the only good thing he could see about today was that it was Friday. _Vive le weekend_he thought to himself.

He snorted as he saw the girls constellate around his group's table, each a shining beacon of hope for heterosexual relationships everywhere. In support of his friends the wolf had to admit that there probably wasn't a larger group of extremely hot studs anywhere else on campus. The other males seemed to notice this too and there were quite a number of venomous glances in their direction.

_Shit._He thought. _I did it again..._The wolf had been trying to train himself out of thinking of them as his group. He had cut as many ties as he could without completely estranging himself from them. He reasoned he didn't deserve their friendship. Especially now that he knew the reason behind the feeling.

Even with the coach continuously trying to get him to break out of the shell, and also try to set him up with other guys; Crellen had been unable to assuage the guilt he felt. Even in the past week the bear had been listing every guy in school to try and get him to show some interest, but honestly even if he felt lonely, he was comfortable where he is.

Looking over to the table, he saw something that made him wish he hadn't changed his gaze: Zack and Alex were looking into each other's eyes meaningfully again. The wolf chuckled hollowly. If this were an anime there would be hearts flying around those two.

Speaking of that, Mark and Dean were leaning close together. This development Chris knew about the day he faced the human in the ring, Dean was a little too eager to be pinned than was probably normal.

Looking at Murray was probably the best way to break his dour mood: the otter was shamelessly flirting with each and every one of the females that appeared. Though he was taking the attention off the happy couples, much to their relief, Chris also knew that Murray was probably filling his schedule for the month in his head of all the girls he would soon be balls deep in.

Murray was an interesting case. The wolf was sure he knew most of his friends were gay but to his credit he never made a mention of it. In any case the otter could see the options it provided him - like now - to use all his gay friends to provide him all the girls in the school on a silver platter. The otter's lithe, swimmer's build, tall stature and cool personality made him the perfect, edgy, surfer type that the ladies seemed to go for nowadays. Even Chris had to admit he had thought once or twice about taking a shot at asking, and that he had jerked off in the shower to more than a couple raunchy scenarios starring him.

Chris continued his survey of the squeal-fest that was Valentine's, coming to rest his eyes on Avery. He didn't know why of all his friends, the husky was almost always one of the last people to be noticed. Though regardless of his huge stature, Ave had a serene personality that made him effortless to talk to and easy to hang out with. Until you get him onto the oval of course. Once he touches a hindpaw on that grass his whole demeanor changes to something awesome and terrifying, like an avalanche.

The husky himself was looking at Murray with the same amusement Chris was. Obviously they had the same though on the otter's behavior. What really irritated the wolf though was that Avery was one of the hardest people to read normally. It was so hard to see what he was thinking as most of the time his expressions were carefully schooled and his eyes were far away. That often changed around times like now when Jack secretly holds his paw under the table. The wolf smiled sadly as the echo of loneliness appeared again.

Without meaning to, he looked suddenly at Blair. The deep, sapphire blue eyes made a connection with him for all of three seconds before the larger wolf looked away. Chris' fur stood on end. How long had Blair been staring? How had he not noticed it? Almost in retaliation Chris stared back at him, sizing the white wolf up. Blair's build was a lot like Avery's, though on a smaller scale of course. The wolf's broad body type led him to look more like a body builder but Chris knew that was because of the wrestling Blair did. His muscles were easily defined through his shirt. The brown wolf couldn't help it but drool every time he saw those pecs.

Of all his friend's, Blair was the hardest to let go. The white wolf didn't make it easy either at the start because he kept trying to ask Chris what was wrong. After a while things drifted away, but there was a hole left there that hurt more than the others. Blair had taken the hint and left alone, but lately it seemed that the white wolf had taken to looking his way on more than one occasion, like just then.

Chris shook himself out and contemplated what he had left for the day.Double literature he thought with a cringe. Juuuuuuuust great...

As he was busy wallowing in trepidation for the lengthy and boring class on why the streetcar was named "Desire". A muscular and furry wall of white appeared in the middle of his vision. Chris looked up in surprise at how close Blair had managed to get. "Y-yes?" he stammered out, still trying to recompose himself.

The white wolf looked at him with a strange glint in his eye and before saying softly in his deep baritone voice. "I need to talk to you about something, can we meet after school?" Chris was still to stunned to think up a plausible excuse, and before he could the words "Okay, sure" had left his lips unconsciously.

Blair nodded in satisfaction and sat down again. Chris couldn't be sure but it seemed like the white wolf was now doing everything in his power _not_to look at him.

Chris shook his head in bemusement and got up to get his books. Time for a hot, steamy session with Stanley. He thought with a grin. The black and white version of course.

*** Blair ***

Blair's elation got him through the last two periods of the day in a daze. He had managed to talk to Chris again, and now they were going to spend time together, on Valentines.

He couldn't ask for a better opportunity.

The wolf had the whole plan in his head. They were going to go to the old site, the place where the group used to spend most of their time, and profess his love. Chris would realise that he was in love with Blair and everything would be fine.

That's what he planned anyway...

***

When the final bell rang he grabbed his things and bolted for the door, grabbing all of his things and stuffing them in his bag in hi locker before he slowed his pace. Attempting to hide his nerves and excitement he walked to the Year 10 lockers and picked Chris out from the crowd. It wasn't hard; brown fur and black stripes were a very unique combo - another thing he loved about the small wolf.

As Chris came out of the swell of furs and noticed him, the white wolf waved casually. _Points for coolness._He thought to himself, smiling. "Hi, you got everything?" Blair asked. Unfortunately all points were lost as he voice broke somewhere in the middle of the sentence.

"Yep," The brown wolf replied bluntly. There was a quizical look on his face as he picked up the nervous vibes. "T-that's good," He completed lamely with a stutter. Shit! This isn't working...

"Let's go then."

***

Blair led the wolf down the old bike track tat led to the back of the construction site. It had been there for years but no one ever really seemed to want it completed. From the layout it looked like a shopping mall. But it really was anyone's guess. The group used to spend their summer holidays hanging out here before school camps and commitments got in the way. It made the wolf smile to remember the old days.

"What are we doing out here?" Chris asked. Blair turned look at the smaller wolf and he could see the nostalgic expression on his face.He remembers too, the white thought with glee.

"I wanted to talk to you about something, I figured this was as good a place as any..." He tried to sound nonchalant about it, but inside his heart might as well take up boxing lessons from the pain it was thumping into him.

"Okay... what's up then?" The wolf's demeanor was calm as he sat on a rusted H-beam.

"Well, there's something I've been meaning to say, but I didn't know how you'd react to it... honestly I thought you'd never be interested but now I..." the wolf mumbled and trailed off pitifully.

"Hm? Well what is it? Spit it out, don't just chew on it," Chris chuckled. Blair could see the good-natured smile on his face and helped him continue.

"You see, at first I wasn't so sure about it, but then I saw you with the coach-"

"Wait, WHAT!?" Blair was cut off by Chris yelling and the brown wolf suddenly got up. The air seemed to turn very cold. Oh fuck... so the wrong thing to say... "What was that, Blair?" The voice coming out of the small wolf was soft, and very deadly. He suddenly seemed bigger than even Avery as he slowly walked up to the stammering white wolf. "I-i saw you with the coach. B-but I promise! I won't tell anyone! I-" He was cut off again, but this time by a paw as Chris grabbed Blair by the shoulder, picked him up with more strength than should be possible in such an average sized wolf, and launched him into the chain link fence.

Blair was winded as he hit the fence. He didn't feel anything break but he knew there'd be bruising. He stiffened as he looked at Chris again. Or at least - he thought it was Chris. Instead of seeming it, the wolf actually _was_huge. One eye had gone a dark black, and the other glowed red. _This really isn't going according to plan._The maniacal thought laughed in his mind as he watched the furry hulk approach.

Then as suddenly as it had appeared, there Chris was again, looking at the wolf with bright, terrified eyes. "I-I'm so sorry..." the brown stammered, stumbling back from Blair. He turned and ran, leaving the large wolf with a headache and no idea what just happened.

***

In the distance a man in a clean, ironed black suit put the binoculars down. He picked up his mobile and dialed a number that answered immediately. Saying three words, he hung up and walked back to his car. Satisfied that his mission was accomplished.

Neutrality had awoken.

*** Chris ***

It happened again, it came out. The lights blurred together as he ran what he thought was in the direction of home. The anger had become too much and the thing took him over; something dark and bright all at the same time. It wanted to kill, it wanted to protect Chris, i_t wanted to kill_. The devastating bloodlust howled through his veins and screamed through his skull. The primal thrill of the hunt drove him onward.

Before he realised it he came to a bar. Walking straight in, he glared at the bouncer with enough contempt that he didn't even bother to check ID. That was helpful: he knew the real one was at home somewhere. Walking up to the bar, he ordered a double vodka and downed it in a gulp before ordering another and a pint of cider. The bartender looked a little worried but served it anyway. After the first four drinks were down the primal urges began to subside and he smiled to the waiter; apologising for his bad mood. After that cleared up he began to slow down, but continued drinking.

Vive le weekend. He smirked at the cruel irony.

*** Blair ***

It took a while for Blair to put together his scattered thoughts. He chalked what he saw up to a temporary concussion and moved onto the more important topic: he still didn't manage to confess.

Looking at the watch he saw it was getting close to 8pm. He knew who he needed to talk to, but Crellen was definitely not going to be in his office at this hour.

Blair took the second option. He went directly to the coach's house.

***

He knew that this was probably a very irregular move but, he reasoned, so was the coach and Chris getting it on together. With this resolve in mind he knocked on the Coach's door and waited for then answer.

It took about ten seconds before he heard a "Who is it?" in a grumpy voice. The door opened to reveal the bear, and the briefs he was wearing revealed him quite well indeed. Blair immediately went red at the sight of the solid muscle "C-Coach Crellen..." he stammered. Crellen's face blanched when he saw the student. "Crap, hang on a second..." He was gone for a moment and came back in shorts and a loose tshirt. Much better the wolf thought as his tried to hide the tent in his pants.

"What can I do for you Blair?" the coach asked in an embarrassed tone. "School hours are well and truly up." "We need to talk." The wolf replied in a nervous voice, "about Chris."

If Crellen expected to hear anything, that was probably the last item on the list. The bear stiffened slightly but didn't show any outward signs of aggression. "You better come in then..." he said softly.

Walking into the house he saw a bloke's mess: Cricket on the TV, beer cans, weights set, dirty dishes. A true bachelor pad. Blair mused with a smile. Crellen went to the fridge and pulled out another can of beer. "I think I may need this..." he muttered, "Want one?" Blair thought about it, and nodded - it had been a hell of a day. He took the can and opened it up, drinking half of it.

The wolf decided to start off. "First of all, im not angry at you, nor am I going to report you. I need help though, and you're probably the most equipped to do it." The coach sat down on a chair next to the bench, and motioned the wolf to do the same. "I see, and what are my qualifications exactly?" The bear said wit humour. Now that he saw there was no real anger in Blair's eyes, he relaxed. "Well, since you are the one screwing him after all" the wolf smiled bitterly, causing Crellen to start a little "perhaps you can give me some insight as to how to diffuse the bomb I've set off..."

It took about 15 minutes to explain everything: his feelings, what he saw, his relationship with Chris, and events that occurred earlier. Crellen was in tears laughing by the end of it. Blair bristled up to defend himself and his friend. "What's so funny?" he demanded. Wiping a tear away, the bear answered, "didn't really go to your expectations huh?"

The wolf smiled in embarrassment. "I guess not..."

In a second the bear had snapped back to serious again. "Well I guess I had better explain Chris' situation to you. You obviously do love him after all..." he smiled happily at Blair before recounting his side of the story and Chris' past. With every sentence, the wolf grew more alarmed. Tears of his own formed in his eyes as he imagined the pain his friend had been going through.

"So to cap it off, Chris is actually roughly the same age as you, though only a bit younger. He has had an extremely volatile childhood which he only just jame to terms with, and because of that he is incredibly fragile at the moment. Do you honestly think you will be able to care for him? What he needs now are friends he can depend on, not more people who will cause him pain." The last words were said with caution behind them. He knew that if anything bad where to happen to Chris the coach would probably make sure there was retribution.

And yet... And yet... Blair thought, _I would do anything for him..._Blair stood up and stated as much. "Good, because knowing him; there's a very good chance that it wasn't home he ended up in. it was probably a bar."

"How-? Oh..." The wolf was still getting used to the concept that Chris was actually 18.

"We need to find him. For his own safety." Crellen ran into an adjacent room and came out in jeans and a jacket. Grabbing his keys and wallet, he made for the door. "Let's go then."

***

Blair thought hard about the direction Chris had run in. It was on the way back to his house, but if Crellen was right they should be looking I all the local bars. It was already 11pm by the time they made it to roughly where they assumed Chris would be. It was a small shopping complex hosting 4 different possibilities. They each took one and came back empty, so they tried a second time.

It was Blair that found him. In a corner making a ruckus,

"So I grabbed him by the shoulder and threw him see?" the wolf was slurring his words as he made a motion of what he did earlier, "and sent him flyyyying into a fence..." the onlookers looked at him with bemusement. Enjoying the entertainment of a ranting drunk. "And then- and then I got really big, and was soo angry... b-but then," tears were forming in the small wolf's eyes. Looking closely he noticed from the brown wolf's fur that they weren't the first tears "and then I ran here and met you lovely people!" he said, concealing it with a smile.

Even drunk he can be quite guarded. The white smiled and shook his head as he walked up to the crowd. "Alright, time to go now." He shooed off the crowd and picked up Chris's hand. Looking up it took the smaller wolf a while to recognise who it was. "B-blair, I-i..." he stammered, unsure of what to do. The brown was leaning away in fear.

"It's okay, the coach is here too. We've come to take you home." as he said it, Crellen walked in and came over. "Here we are." he smiled at the shell-shocked wolf "lets get you warm and safe.

Both Blair and Crellen took an arm each and guided Chris gently out of the bar and to the car. "Into the back seat boys." he said in a fatherly tone.

The white grinned and nodded. Helping the brown into the back, he got in too. Chris was still in reaction mode so really wasn't thinking straight. Blair pulled him into his arms and let the brown lean against him. "Its okay, Chris, you're safe"

Those words snapped him out of his daze, but Blair noticed that the brown still didn't move. He smiled contentedly as Chris slowly relaxed into his arms.

***

They pulled into Crellen's place. He and Blair had already agreed to stay the night there in the spare room so as not to make a scene back at Chris'. Crellen had called up Chris' mum and explained the situation. She was relieved that Chris finally had a friend he could talk to and so had no complaint about him being out for the night. Blair called his own parents, who were used to him sleeping at friend's on weekends anyway.

Chris took a little while to get up, and Blair was in no mood to rush him. He was enjoying the feeling of the sleek figure in his arms and wanted to stay there forever.

Hwoever it had to end as the coach tapped his foot and ushered them into the house. Chris smirked like the white didn't when he noticed the mess, and they both saw Crellen roll his eyes. "I didn't know id have visitors..." he mumbled. The humour became infections, and the grin turned to laughter as Chris and Blair both laughed out the days stress they'd been feeling.

The bear gave them a mock glare and flicked his head up indignantly. "Im going to have a shower and_clean up_the spare room. Try not to break anything." He said. Blair knew that he was giving the two wolves space but didn't comment.

As the laughter died down, the strained tension came back. Chris refused to look Blair in the eyes and the white was stumped about what to say.

"I'm sorry..." He heard Chris mumble softly. "I'm sorry I hurt you." Shame and self loathing was coming off the small wolf in waves and it made Blair ache to see his friend in so much pain of his own. He placed a paw on the brown. "It's okay, I should have explained myself better. I'm sorry I made you worry."

The white pushed it further. He took Chris's paw and moved so that they were eye-to-eye. He looked deep into those dark brown eyes. "I'm sorry I gave up on you, I'm sorry I left you alone in pain for so long. I'm sorry I didn't try to find out the truth earlier. And I'm sorry that I was too afraid to tell you what I have been wanting to say for months..." His muzzle now was very close to Chris'. He could smell the alcohol on the brown's breath, and the saltiness of his tears. He licked the smaller wolf's cheek. "I love you Chris. I always have."

The brown's eyes widened at the sudden revelation, and before a second had passed Blair felt Chris' lips on his own. The smaller wolf's underlying taste filled his maw and he couldn't get enough of it.

When they came up for air Blair noticed the clock. It was 11:59. "Happy Valentine's day Chris."

Better late than never.
