Chapter 12 - Blood Lust Part 3
Everyone looked up as Leo and Valice stared hard at one another. Some started to stand while the others stayed low to the ground. Valentine, Fiona, Alan, Brian, and Collins stood up as well.
"He's right. It doesn't matter how dark the times get, there's always hope that survives somewhere," said Valentine.
"Your little speech of hope is pointless because I am God!" shouted Valice before charging towards Leo.
"You are too simple minded to be God," said Leo as he held the blade high.
The sword began to shine brightly and illuminate the sky with bright light. The light began to bend in multiple directions as it made its way to the ground. Valice took advantage of this so called opening to let an air strike loose. The wind concentrated into multiple disks as it progressed its way to Leo.
"Oh no you don't!" shouted Valentine throwing a small capsule into the sky. The capsule exploded with another gust of wind that dispersed the flying disks.
"What?!" shouted Valice as he turned his head in bewilderment.
"I'm not afraid of you Valice. You and your fucken Necromancy!" shouted Valentine as she stood taller than she ever did in her entire life time.
"You'll pay for that!" snapped Valice.
"I'd be careful if I were you," said Leo as the bending light bent sharply at Valice.
Valice quickly weaved through the bending light as if it was nothing but tissue, yet, he wasn't aware of where he was going until the bending light suddenly disappeared. He stopped above the magical forest, within two arms length of Leo.
"You know what's strange about this weapon?" asked Leo surprising Valice.
"That it's not a weapon compared to this," responded Valice drawing out his newly formed large sword. It still kept the simple design of a large sword but energy surged through it making it hard to avoid when it comes to close combat.
"No, because it can change at will and draw up assistance," said Leo as souls flowed up from the ground. The weapon began changing shapes as it became a long spear with a large blade. Curved on one side; jagged on the other.
Leo started to spin the spear as the souls drifted towards Leo and became caught in the spin. Fiona and Brian dashed towards the forest as Alan grabbed Valentine to get away from the forest at a safe distance. Collins followed Fiona and Brian.
"Where are you taking me?" asked Valentine infuriated.
"To get as far away as possible from what's about to happen," responded Alan.
Fiona and Brian stopped at the base of a tree as Collins jumped into the linked hands, ready to give him a boost into the air. Fiona and Brian immediately heaved Collins into the air and high up the tree as Collins prepared to catch the tree top on his way down. Leo continued to spin the spear but faster to create a glowing ring along the edge of the circle.
"Is that supposed to stop me?" asked Valice.
"No, this is supposed to keep you distracted from that," replied Leo as Brian and Fiona appeared high behind him.
"Kunai Volley!" shouted Fiona and Brian as Collins appeared underneath Valice with a trick of his own.
Fiona rapid fired Valice as Brian made kunai materialize out of thin air and fly along side the rapid fire. Collins held a small capsule as he threw it up just in time for the other two attacks to reach Valice. The capsule exploded sending out a wave of heat that stunned Valice momentarily for the rapid fire and kunai to hit home. Once the attack was over, Valice didn't look like he had any damage dealt to him but Leo changed that using the glowing ring.
"Valkyrien Spear," said Leo as he pulled the spear out of the ring and threw it through the circle.
As the spear passed the circle, the weapon enlarged into a large spear that has elegant designs covering the shaft. Valice tried to avoid the attack but found that he couldn't move or do anything but take the attack. The spear passed through Valice but not without dealing damage to his body.
"All right!" shouted Collins as he landed on a branch.
Leo moved his hands and the blood flew up into the air to surround Leo as a stream. Valice wasn't damaged externally but internally where such that he became immobilized with pain.
"Blood Bane," said Leo as the stream of blood became a sword and made a lethal slash across Valice's body.
Blood did not flow from the wound but black smoke did. Anyone who breathes in the black smoke will slowly die away as it eats away internally.
"What's going on?" exclaimed Valentine when she saw the black smoke in the air.
"I don't know but they need our help regardless of the danger," replied Alan as he sprinted off towards the forest with Valentine following close behind.
"You think you can kill me?" mocked Valice and his wound closed.
"You're hollow. That wasn't expected but I can deal with that easily," said Leo as the blood sword became a stream of blood once again carrying Leo's spear.
"Down here Valice!" shouted Brian as bamboo spears erupted from the ground followed by Fiona's missiles.
Valice placed up a shield underneath him but the spears moved through that with ease and punctured Valice's skin. The missiles had no difficulty getting past the shield either as they exploded on contact with Valice. The blast left a black cloud that surrounded Valice and Leo, obstructing their views not that Leo needs to see. Leo grabbed his spear from the blood stream and charged at Valice using his senses. Valice had multiple tears into his fur as black fumes slipped out into the sky. He quickly recovered and used the wind to create a small clearing around him.
"Damn them and their work," murmured Valice as he tried to find his various opponents.
A small light protruded from the thick smoke which caught Valice's attention. Finally using his sword, Valice prepared himself for the small light that appeared in other areas of the smoke as well until one light stood out stronger than the others. A sword slash came from the brightest glowing light which happens to be in front of him and he blocked the attack using the flat side of the sword. The sound of clashing metal could be heard through out the world as more strikes followed afterwards.
"This fucken black smoke isn't dispersing," murmured Valice as he used the wind to disperse the black smoke and revealed Leo holding a different sword compared to his first. This sword is just a simple knight's sword with a four foot blade as its length.
"So you have a new toy, it's not going to save you," shouted Valice.
"This 'new toy' as you call it is a special sword because it is Valkyrien," responded Leo charging in for another strike.
Valice impeded the strike before pulling back and attempt a diagonal strike for the head. Leo ducked the attack while swinging the sword towards Valice's legs. Each attack from either attacker were evaded or blocked by the other. Valice couldn't see how Leo's sword is special just because it is Valkyrien but that soon was short lived when Leo found a large opening in Valice's attack.
"By the decree of the Valkyries, Nibelum Valeski!" shouted Leo stabbing Valice in the heart.
Multiple Valkyrien spears, similar to the one attack that Leo used, encompassed Valice before driving themselves into his body. One after the other pierced Valice's body while avoiding Leo. Once the spears finished their strikes, Leo pulled out and moved far from Valice as his sword became a pure white light that grew brighter.
"Niteal Requiem," said Leo as he brought the sword up above his head for a sword slice.
The spears were still in Valice's body as he couldn't move from the numerous spears. He saw the sword glowed with brilliance above Leo's head. Leo brought the sword down in a wide arc and the glowing light extend itself like a whip and pass through Valice's body as well as shatter the numerous spears. The cut was down the middle as it split Valice's body in half and emitting a large fume of black smoke. This smoke began to take on life as red eyes appeared from it. Alan and Valentine stopped at the edge of the forest when they saw this large black smoke and began to back away slowly.
"What the hell is that thing?" asked Fiona.
"I don't know what it is but its best if we get the hell out of here now!" shouted Collins running towards Fiona and Brian.
Brain grabbed Fiona's hand and began running towards the edge of the forest. Leo stared at the black cloud without changing emotions or moving from where was floating. The soldiers saw this black smoke as it rose into the air and seemed to be laughing as it looked upon the ground with its dark menacing eyes.
"Get away!" shouted Collins as Brian, Fiona, and Collins emerged from the forest and into the battle grounds.
The soldiers didn't need to be told twice on what to do as they got up and sprinted as far from the forest as possible. Leo flew out of the forest backwards as he watched the black smoke grew in size. It started as big as a pillow and grew to the size of a mountain in only one minute.
"You will not leave," said the black smoke. It elongated the words because it has no absolute matter to create clear sound.
Leo stopped above the ancients that still lay helplessly under the net. He brought the blood stream down and lifted off the net as well as picking up all of the ancients. Bahamut looked up at Leo through his grim eyes. Shiva and Silva were old and wrinkly. Alexander's armor was rusted and he couldn't move. Canterus lost the will to move except for his eyes because the power that was taken from him included the control of his various muscles.
"It's a good thing this can be undone," said Leo as the blood stream picked up one after another and placing them in a circle around Leo.
Everyone, who could go as far as they are able to, looked up in awe at what Leo was doing. Valentine stopped underneath the circle as she looked up along with Alan who stood not to far from her. Fiona, Collins, and Brian stood midway between the forest and circle as a small part of the blood stream became a dagger. Everyone watched as Leo used the small dagger and made small cuts in each of the ancients as he extracted silver blood from them. He only needed a small amount from each ancient as the blood gathered into a small ball, the size of a child's fist.
"Your efforts are pointless," said the black smoke.
"Shut the fuck up already," said Leo as he moved the silver blood above him. The silver blood became frozen over by ice and Leo placed all the ancients down on the ground.
"What is he doing?" murmured some of the observers.
"I'll tell you what I'm doing, I'm going to reverse what ever that fucken idiot Valice did," said Leo turned his attention towards the black smoke while holding the silver ice.
Leo flew towards the black smoke with the sword he was using earlier floating close by. A light dawned from the sky above and landed upon the silver ice causing it to glimmer. The black smoke did nothing as it watched Leo approach.
"To bad, so sad, now die you fucken bitch!" shouted Leo.
He threw the silver ice into the black smoke which erupted with bright light. The bright light seeped its way through the black smoke and into the outside. First the light was weak but it grew stronger as each second passed. The ancients felt their energy increase and they soon were starting to return to their glorious bodies and abilities. Alexander was the first to recover as his armor started to turn silver again. Shiva and Silva were becoming younger. Bahamut's strength slowly grew as his eyes no longer watched in disdain but with hope. Canterus was able to move small portions of his body at first but that soon changed after a minute had passed. After one minute had passed, most of the black smoke had been punctured by bright lights and the ancients grew stronger. Once the next minute passed, the black smoke was enveloped by bright light and the ancients perfectly renewed. All the observers watched as the bright light shine brightly in the sky before it dimmed into the glowing dawn that stretched its arms across the sky.
Leo turned to the approaching dawn and watched the sun rise as a mark for a new beginning. Valentine watched the sun with a new motive. Her original motive was to defeat the enemy and get this war over with but now it is different for she wants to end this war but differently. Collins watched the sun and tried to remember the last time he saw the sun this bright in his entire life but he could not recall such a day. Alan, Brian, and Fiona watched the sun believed that the war has finally come to an end because of what has occurred. Maybe now, the world can get along once again is what they thought. Everyone looked at the rising sun with new hopes, that it would be better to settle their matter diplomatically. The kings of both countries looked upon the sun and decided that the war has gone on far enough and that a new peace treaty be designed. The stream of magic that glowed in the night sky became visible during the day as it glimmered with gold from the wings of golden butterflies that fly the stream for all eternity.
"I can't remember a day where the sun was this bright," said Bahamut.
"Neither of us can because neither of us has seen one until now," said Silva as she flew up into the sky.
"Point taken," responded Bahamut.
The ancients watched along with everyone else the glorious change in their future and the future of the world. Originally, this world's future is complete annihilation from both sides because they are able to design an extremely explosive weapon. Now, that future is changed by only one person. This is a dawn for the new hope that people can get along with one another. This is also a new hope that the entire future will change and the cycle broken.
