Kristoffer's Redemption chapter 4

Never too late.

Jennifer lifted Kristoffer onto the table by his under arms and then set him down on the table, she was humming what sounded to Kristoffer like some kind of a lullaby as she did this, and the tune was so hypnotic that before he even realized it he was muttering words to a song that he hadn't realized he knew.

"where foxes dance, where foxes sing, The white fox rules them all, The black fox is their King, you'll be sure to hear her call as she welcomes you in, the white fox leads the merry dance, tailed touched you'll follow her, her song, music to entrance clothed in your own fur oh so daintily you'll prance. the dance will lose you in its flight, round and round spin never stopping till morning light and the dark fox joins in, He'll release you from your plight foxes dance in the cold grey light, birds startled burst into flight, who can say why the foxes dance? Why they spin, caper, and prance?

"Wow Kristoffer, I didn't know you were familiar with lullabies from the eastern fox tribes! I knew you was well read but I didn't realize you was quite that well-read! I'm very impressed." Jennifer exclaimed as she grabbed his ankles and lifted him up and began to wipe down his privets and rump getting them clean. "Well I didn't know I knew it really. The song you was humming just made the words umm click in my brain and I just started to sing them. I don't know why." Kristoffer, said with a hot blush as he was cleaned like a new born getting prepped for a diaper change. "Well Kristoffer your markings are unique to the eastern tribes, so maybe you are descend of them by some extent, and it's been said that every fox of any decent to them has that song hard wired into their brains at birth. Some even know it before they are born its said. So maybe that's why you know it." Jennifer said as she then balanced Kristoffer's legs on her shoulder so she could unfold the diaper and slide it under him, once that was done she applied the powder and rubbed it in gently making Kristoffer, gasp a bit in embarrassment. "Well it's too late for me to find out about it. Anyone who knows anything about that part of my family is either dead or has disowned me and won't speak to me." To this remark Jennifer sighed as she lifted his legs up again and gave his rump 8 firm hard swats erecting some startled yips and whines from the fox on the table before her, after that she laid him back down on the table and pulled the diaper up between his legs and secured it quite snuggly as she spoke "Kristoffer, new rule, Do not ever, I mean EVER, say that it's too late for something, because it's not too late, it's NEVER too late, do I make myself clear young man?" she asked standing up straight and putting her pas on her hips and looking him in the eyes very sternly.

Kristoffer gulped and blushed as she stared at him so sternly, it was making him feel very little then a thought occurred to Kristoffer, "yes Mis.Jennifer, I understand...but I have something to ask you now" Jennifer smiled and leaned down and rubbed noses with Kristoffer then she picked him up off of the table and carried him to the door and entered her main house leaving his clothes on the basement floor. "Okay Kristoffer, shoot, what do you want to ask me?" Kristoffer took a deep calming breath this was a bad habit for to those who knew him knew he did this to ready himself just before he asked something that he thought others might consider way to personal for him to know but Jennifer didn't know this about him so she just figured that he was doing it to calm himself down from being carried in such an infantile way. Jennifer chuckled because she had seen that question coming, "sorry pup but that's classified and you do not have authorization to have that knowledge, ha-ha but am sure that if you really wanted to know that someone like you could come up the answer to that and be fairly close. Next question pup." Kristoffer did not like mind games like these but he had read enough books and had enough conversations and role plays where things like these happened that he had developed a trick to getting answers without asking the questions. "So then, I guess you studied eastern history. Pretty smart. I mean I do lots of research myself but mostly on the fly if you know what I mean" Jennifer stopped and looked down at the 'kit' in her arms with a devious grin and then she set him down into a high chair and looked the tray over his paws, in the conversation Kristoffer hadn't even noticed that they were now in the kitchen or dining room, Jennifer walked to the fridge as she spoke., "sorry pup, I know what you're doing, your trying to get me to give you answers that I'm not supposed to give to you, by stating observations and well thought statements that would normally trick someone into telling you what you want to know, I will say this much Pup, you are quite a piece of work. Even Blaze didn't think you would be this clever, your friend Jason was right, you are fast on your paws, you analyze things quickly, then you come up with a theory and plan to help you in that situation. He said that has seen you defuse arguments between total strangers by stating some observation about them that confuses them so much that they forgot what they was arguing about in the first place." As Jennifer said all of this Kristoffer's ears were slowly dropping as he realized just how out matched he was but Jennifer wasn't trough with him yet, "Kristoffer your very smart, I can see that, so I want you to think about this. You've heard that expression don't ask questions unless you can handle the truth? Well it's true. Kristoffer you are asking me things that I'm certain you're not ready to handle. Not yet, I commend you on showing me just how smart, and observant and perceptive you are and in such a clever way! Kristoffer I really like you, you keep me on my toes, that's a good thing. But Kristoffer. Try thinking about what you're asking me before you try to get those answers. Who knows? Maybe the answers you come up with on your own will be the right ones."

Kristoffer was feeling even worse now than he had at first, now not just because he'd been caught in his trick, but the fact that she had caught it so easily and had stated as much so clearly and even told him exactly what the method and execution was for this trick, Yes Kristoffer, was having second thoughts about this whole situation, by now Jennifer had returned to Kristoffer, with a bib and some jars of baby food as well as a spoon in paw. At seeing how she had unintentionally put him down she thought for a moment then she had an idea that would be sure to make him feel better, "Kristoffer look at me." She stated this with a decent amount of command and kindness in her voice and when Kristoffer looked up to her she smiled and crouched down a little bit so she could look him in the eyes and then she rubbed noses with him briefly before she stood up and started to unscrew the jar caps, "Kristoffer I didn't mean to put you down but I need you to realize that you're not in any position right now to be asking such things or trying such tricks to get the answers that you want. I would rather you use your mind and think on them to find the answers." She said as she scooped some food from the jar and held it to his mouth, he reluctantly opened up and accepted the food as she spoke, "Kristoffer I do care about you and I like how you try to play those kinds of little games to find out info and such. It's very smart, it's actually something they teach us in training to find out things from you guys. By you guys I mean our charges." She said as Kristoffer finished off the last of the jars, "my my someone was hungry wasn't he?" she smiled and cleaned his face then she went to the counter and put the jars in a small washer on the counter top and then she got out 3 yogurt cups from the fridge and brought them back with a another clean spoon in paw. "Kristoffer I want you to just relax and trust me because let me tell you right now. If I had to, I would put myself right beside you. I'm not trying to find out what makes you tick, I just want to help you work out your problems." Kristoffer ate the yogurt and listened to her closely and when she had finished speaking he swallowed the last spoon full of yogurt and then he smiled and sighed a bit before speaking himself, "Jennifer, I really like you, and blaze, you guys have been very nice to me, and you have been explaining things too and I really appreciate it but...well..." Kristoffer trailed off and sighed and stayed quite for a few moments before he spoke again "something's getting in the way, something's just about to break, so...tell me how it should be."
