#1 of Two Halves of the Same Whole

This is the first chapter in a story that I am writing with my friend Liltenhead. It is a story written from the point of view of one two characters. each character's story is slightly different (or will be soon) If you want to read from the other character's point of view, go check out Liltenhead.

It all started when I was gathering food for the night. I had just gathered all of my food when I heard a small rustle behind me. I turned around expecting to see one of the wild pokemon who wanted some food, but I was surprised to see a human standing in front of me with a nasty grin on his face. I looked at him for a second before he threw a small sphere at me. It hit the ground and a pokemon materialized in front of me.

"Bulbasor, use Vine Whip!" The human shouted

I realized just what was happening, and started to run, dropping my berries as I ran. In my escape, I felt a vine wrap around my leg and pull me back towards the human and his pokemon.

"I'm not letting you get away that easily Lucario!" the human said with that evil grin on his face, "you're mine.

I don't know how I got away, but I didn't escape without sacrifice. My vision was blurry. Every step I took shot a jolt of pain through my body. I needed help soon. My vision was failing me. As my vision faded completely, I saw a light and limped towards it. I felt the warmth of a fire, then I fainted.

I slowly woke up. Every part of my body ached, but I was so warm. I couldn't move my arms much. I looked down and saw a bag of some sort that kept me from moving freely. I realized that I could bend forward and backward with ease, so I rolled over onto my stomach and started inching myself out of the structure I was in, like a worm. I was getting close to the edge of the clearing when I heard a voice.

"Alright buddy." The voice said, obviously trying not to laugh. "You shouldn't be trying to worm your way off with my sleeping bag."

I looked over and saw a human woman, probably in her twenties. I realized how stupid I had to look right now, but rather than let this human capture me I continued my efforts to escape the camp quickly. The woman spoke again.

"Hey look, you aren't exactly fit enough to leave, and I can't let you take my sleeping bag either."

I looked at her for a moment, then continued to wriggle away as fast as I could. I was getting close to the edge of the clearing when the woman stood up and ran over to me.

"I know you don't trust me, but you really can't leave right now."

She grabbed the bottom of the bag and slowly pulled me back into her camp, away from my freedom. I growled at her.

"Let me go, human!" I growled

"Trust me, I don't want to hold you against your will, but you were the one who passed out in front of me, so what else am I supposed to do?" She said in a worried tone.

"Let me go! Your kind did this to me! And your kind will always oppress my kind!" I shouted in her face. I scratched at the bag until it shredded and then ran towards the forest. As I did, I felt my strength leave me entirely and everything went dark. I woke up again. This time I wasn't bound. I could leave if I wanted. I looked over at the woman and saw that she was very tired. I stood up slowly, trying to be quiet and slowly limped towards the edge of the clearing.

"Give me a break!" I heard the woman shout as she ran behind me, grabbing me around the stomach and keeping me from moving. "Alright before you kill me at least listen to me for once. This forest will kill you in your condition, do you understand?"

"Stay away from me!" I yelled and swiped at her, leaving a gash along her face. The force of my attack sent her falling back and she hit her head on a rock, losing consciousness immediately.

Oh God! what have I done!? I may be wild, but I'm not a killer.

_ _ Seeing that this woman needed help immediately, I picked her up and limped towards the closest town I knew of. It was slow progress, but after a few hours, we reached the town. The first building I saw had a big red roof with an image of one of those strange spheres which humans threw at my kind to capture them. I was scared to go in, but I knew it was what needed to be done. I walked up to the entrance and the doors magically opened. I froze when I saw people all around us staring at me.

"Quick, follow me!" said a woman with pink hair.

I didn't question her and followed quickly so as to escape the view of the many humans in the building. The woman had me lay the woman I was carrying onto a bed, then motioned for me to come with her. I followed and she had me enter another room which she closed and locked as soon as I was inside.

"I'm sorry little guy, but I have to make sure you stay here until we make sure you and your trainer are both okay." The woman said sadly.

I slowly turned around, feeling only betrayal. I limped over to the door and banged on it furiously. It wouldn't budge. I continued to bang on the door, denting it slightly. I knew I was low on energy. I had lost so much carrying the woman here, but I had to try to escape. I put all my energy into destroying the door. I punched one more time and the door yielded the victory. As I walked out, I saw the pink haired woman and I fainted.
