#1 of Sibling's Love

Max, a grey fox with saphirre blue eyes walked down the road to his house, coming home from a day out with his friends. He walked up the drive and up to the porch, he knocked on the mahogany door. The boy whistled happily while he waited, eventually footsteps could be hear from the inside. The door opened, and Max's father, a grey fox with a slightly darker shade of fur, he had yellow eyes.

The man smiled at his son and stepped aside allowing the boy entry. Max went upstairs and smiled at his younger sister who eyed him as he walked by, her orange fur was slightly damp, she was holding a towel around her young naked form, her under developed chest showing slightly, her yellow eyes were so full of energy.

Max walked into his room and sat down on his bed, he turned the TV on with the remote and put on the cartoons, he watched for hours before turning off his TV and go to sleep, he had skipped dinner, having got food with his friend Derek and his older brother who had payed.

The fox had woke up the next day to the sound of shouting. Max rolled his eyes, his parents were arguing. Again.

He looked at his calander which showed that it was sunday. So the fox decided to sleep in a bit longer, his eyes began to close and the sounds of shouting began to fade, but he caught one thing.

His sister Samantha, crying and screaming. Max's eyes snapped open, he ran out of his room and almost tripped down the stairs. He saw his mother walking out of the house, carrying young Samantha.

The girl caught the watching glance of her brother and yelled out, "Maxie!".

Max walked out of the house seeing his mother put Samantha into the backseat and enter the car herself, she began driving off. Max felt arms wrap around him and restrain him from running after the car. "Sammy!" Max cried out, kicking and screaming in his father's grip, tears flowed down his eyes, he opened his mouth to scream again as everything went to black.

"Sammy!" A fox jolted up from his bed, cold sweat running down his forehead, he panted and got out of bed. The clock on his bedside table showed the time, 3 in the morning, it was early but the fox doubted he would be going back to sleep anytime soon.

He headed into his bathroom and turned the light on, he blinked a few times as his eyes adjusted, he looked into the mirror and frowned. "Look at the piece of shit in the mirror." He grumbled, clearly unhappy with his reflection, he was a wreck so to speak, his grey fur messy and covered in dirt, his sapphire blue eyes dulled slightly.

He walked into his shower and started it up, he yelped at the cold water, but then adjusted the knobs slightly until the temperture was just right. He sighed as the soothing water took away the dirt, along with his pains.

After awhile the fox walked out of the shower and grabbed a towel, he put the towel around his waist and walked out of the room he headed into the bedroom and looked at the photo on his bedside table, it was him, 10 years younger with his 5 year old sister. He smiled. "Sammy..."

Max typed at the computer, his cubicle sat around many others, but his was important he was the top of the workers, his degree really payed off. He was also a natural smooth talking sales type, like his father.

A doberman with topaz eyes walked into the cubicle. "Hey, dude."

"Hey, Derek." Max said dully. His best friend Derek, the fox found it ironic that all these years the two were connected. From elementary school all the way to this very office building.

"Mind helping an old buddy out?" The doberman handed Max a piece of paper.

Max smirked. "Still having trouble with the numbers?"

Derek rolled his eyes. "I got a degree in IT, not Mathematics."

Max chuckled. "Ok. I'll get it done when I get home."

Derek smiled widely. "Thanks, dude. You saved my ass big this time!" Derek left, back to his cubicle before the manager came to check on everyone's progress.

Max finished counting up the numbers on the sheet. He mumbled quietly. "Take that sum, divide it by...times it by that, double it. Done." The fox sighed and put his pencil down. He got out his mobile an pressed in a number of digits. He put it to his ear. "Hey, D. Yeah I finished that sheet off, I'll give you it back with the answers tomorrow, ok?...Yeah...Bye."

Max hung up and put his phone down, and the doorbell rung as soon as the mobile made contact with the table. The fox got up and went to the door, picking up his mug of coffee on the way out to put it in the sink. He opened the door.

Max's eyes went wide as he looked at the woman in front of him. A fox, orange fur, but most shockingly, those all to familliar golden eyes, which contracted slightly in shock as the mug Max was holding shattered on the ground.

The two stood frozen in time as they stared it took awhile before Max uttered a response. "...Sammy?" The vixen gasped, no one had called her that in years.

"M-Maxie...?" She said quietly, the two stood silently once more before the grey fox suddenly hugged the vixen, crying softly. Samantha wrapped her arms around the fox hugging back. She cried too.

For the first time in ten years, they were together again.
