Legacy of Hunters
Finally finished this. I've been working on this for over a month, and it was challenging cause I'm use to writing stories with a medieval theme. This one's futuristic. I was gonna wait until my sis got back, but that won't be until midnight.
Prologue
The ancient city of Valleshire, an empire ruled by dragons, had remained in power for generations since the end of the rebellion war. But which each generation, more civilizations rise up, technologies advance, and the empire slowly lost power. Eventually, it spread world-wide. Hundreds of generations later, the citizens of Fantasia were finally able to travel the stars, and settle in other worlds. The current ruler of Valleshire is in fear of the empire losing it's power once and for all. He had always hoped that his only heir would be able to solve this crisis. However, the prince had no intention of succeeding his father. He wanted to live a normal life, one with more excitement. His father did not approve, and so drove him away.
The young prince used what little money he had to buy his own ship, putting his family and his past behind him, he left his home world to realize his dream. He eventually became a bounty hunter, accompanied by a single friend he met on the first world he visited who had similar dreams. Together and alone, they roam the galaxy, visiting random worlds, and purging them of whatever crime corrupts them.
One day, they receive a strange transmission from a neighboring world. The client has chosen to remain anonymous. Whoever it was is offering a large reward, which due to the prince's situation, catches his interest. His friend, on the other hand, is greatly suspicious, and begs him not to go through with it. He, of course, shrugs it off, telling his friend there's nothing to worry about, and so departs to the surface, into the local city. The mission was an assassination. He was to hunt down a bandit who has been terrorizing the locals for quite some time, and there was reason to believe his next target would be a refinery that sat near the edge of the city.
He drove up to the described refinery on a special hover bike, red in color with a single light brown stripe. The driver, with red fur and a bushy red tail, wearing a black vest and jeans, black leather finger-cut gloves, gold bracers on both arms, and a black biker helm with a single red stripe, stepped off and looked at the building. He stared at the smokestacks high above. There didn't seem to be any distress. He looked at the PDA system on his wrist, pressing some buttons.
"This is the place," he said to himself,"Where is everyone?" As he thought to himself, his attention was quickly grabbed by the sound of an explosion up above. The entire building was up in flames within minutes. An alarm was sounded. He looked up at the burning building, then a voice caught his attention.
"You!" He looked in the voices direction. It was a grey wolf, a police officer, pointing his handgun at him. "Step away from your vehicle and put your hands where I can see them."
"You got it all wrong officer, I.."
"Hands where I can see them, now!" the officer demanded.
"Aw, the hell with this." He quickly hopped on to his bike, started it, and took off at high speed.
"Stop!" He paid the officer no attention, and was quickly out of sight. He quickly turned right, and soon a few police cruisers were on his tail. He could hear the sirens. He was constantly dodging traffic left and right. He finally got some distance on them, and saw an alley close by, quickly pulling into it and hiding in the shadows. He saw several police cruisers drive by fast. He gave a relieving sigh, then stepped off his bike and removed his helmet, placing his head gear comfortably on the bike. The low light revealed some details of his face. He had a wolf's appearance, with a black nose, one brown eye, and one blue. He had dark reddish-brown, neck length hair, some of it just partially covering his right brown eye. He looked up at the sky for a sec. It was starting to get dark. He tapped a button on his PDA and waited.
"Yeah?" a voice stated.
"Can you come get me?" the red wolf asked.
"Sure thing."
"Do you have my location?"
"Yes. I have you on my screen. I'll be there shortly."
"Do you have a safe zone?"
"There's an abandoned lot near your location, behind the bar. I'll meet you there soon." He hung up. He saw the bar mentioned by his friend, and so to pass the time, he decided to head on in.
