New Beginnings Ch 9 (Tournament Training)

(Vael and Lizana train Alyssa in the ways of battling on the trip to Sunnyside to give her an edge in the tournament. This will help you readers understand how I feel a battle works. It may or may not agree with your theories, but I like to think like this. Also contains some M/F/F oral)

Vael was the first to wake up since he was usually up this early because of birds at home. As he stirred, so did his Pokémon. Still naked, he cuddled Eevee, Purrloin, and Mothim as best he could, then got three bowls of food ready before whispering that he was going to start cleaning up and preparing for the trip.

The Pokémon nodded and watched as he headed towards the bathroom to get the shower running. Eevee started to give herself a bath while Purrloin and Mothim gave some stretches and headed straight for the food.

The food started to wake the other Pokémon up and so Zorua, Poochyena, and Houndoom started to wake up Lizana and Alyssa by pawing at them.

Lizana swatted the paws away gently, mumbling. "Five more minutes please." Then she promptly rolled over.

Eevee watched mid-bath while Houndoom and Zorua rolled their eyes then nodded to each other. Apparently this was a regular occurrence and so they both moved between her legs and pressed their wet noses right up against her still naked pussy. Eevee broke down into fits of laughter as Lizana shrieked and bounced up, fully awake.

This also happened to fully wake up Alyssa who had been stirring because of Poochyena nuzzling her face. She bolted up as well. "What!? Is everything okay?" Alyssa giggled louder and smiled. "I guess that's not a common thing then."

The gym leader shook her head. "Well me begging for more time to sleep is quite common, so these two always find creative ways to wake me up. I swear sometimes I think they take bets on how high I'll jump with the next method they try."

Alyssa grinned as she saw the two eating. "I think I know why they all woke us up. Seems like Vael has already got some food out for his Pokémon. I've only spent one actual evening with Vael, but I was up before him. I think it's because I was still new to having another person nearby so I couldn't get comfortable. But I'm guessing he's usually an early riser since I already hear the shower running." She looked to Eevee, who nodded and then jumped down to start her breakfast.

Lizana fell back down on the bed and gave a powerful stretch before getting up. "Fine fine. I guess I can get Houndoom and Poochyena fed." She prepared the food for them, not caring about her nakedness as she bent over to pour the food into their bowls.

Alyssa blushed as she watched Liana's movements, but was distracted by Poochyena who was pawing at her legs, indicating that he wanted some food too. She laughed and gave Poochyena a rub behind his ears before mirroring Liana's stretch and then hopping up to get his food ready. It was at about that time the shower turned off. "Ooh...shower's ready."

Lizana grinned and rubbed her hands together. "Good!" She then dashed into the bathroom without knocking and heard Vael give a surprised bark of 'Hey!' before the shower started to run again.

Vael came out with a towel around his waist, mumbling to himself. "I swear once she's comfortable, that girl has no modesty."

Alyssa laughed and smiled as he spoke. "Perhaps...but after the things we've done with each other, I hardly think bursting in on you drying off is embarrassing.

He chuckled. "I suppose...but it's the principle of it all!" He dropped the towel and started to dress, while Alyssa watched him with approval. He did notice her watching and blushed a bit before clearing his throat. "So are you ready for the tournament?"

Alyssa's laugh died and she looked down nervously. "I'm actually really quite afraid of what it's going to be like. I mean...I saw you and Lizana during your gym battle. You both thought so well on your feet. I'm afraid I won't be able to think so fast."

He moved to her side and lifted her chin up with a finger. "Hey...don't you worry about a thing. No matter how well you think ahead, there is always going to be a loser and a winner. Going in there and thinking about victory will only cause you stress. Just relax and have faith in Poochyena. Think about how he's moved and acted throughout your time with him. How does he react when certain things happen? Remember when I made him and the others run? Think of how he was there. He and Eevee were just having some friendly competition. Take his mindset into account and you'll be in sync in no time."

She smiled at his reassurance, grabbing his hand and leaning forward to kiss him on the cheek. "You're right...but do you think you might be able to give me some pointers on the way?"

The shower stopped and he chuckled once more. "Of course!" Then he promptly gave her bare ass a slap towards the bathroom. "Now go clean up and we'll get this show on the road."

She yelped and stuck her tongue out at him, but all he did was smile and wink. She couldn't help it and giggled as she made her way to the bathroom, the shower kicking on again.

"Hey Purrloin, since you've had some up close and personal time with Poochyena, do you mind if I set you up to training alongside him on the way there? It will give me time to help you get some more confidence after being so rudely beaten on by those nasty alley dogs."

Purrloin glanced at him in surprise before looking bashfully at Poochyena and nodding. She did smile though when Poochyena winked at her, even if it was faintly.

Vael chuckled as he saw her reaction to Poochyena, giving her a tease. "I think someone's getting a cruuuuush."

The feline, who had been walking towards Vael, stumbled a bit, before giving him a glare, much the same way Lizana had done to Houndoom and Zorua, which only set him off to laughing, along with the other males in the room. She looked to Eevee, who just shrugged and smiled at her.

"I'm just kidding." He sat down on the floor next to his bag and pulled out his dex, patting his lap at Purrloin. "Come on over here. I just want to check out your moves."

Purrloin resumed her walk towards him, if a bit more stiff-legged than usual, but she did hop in his lap and curl up.

He scanned her as he petted her apologetically for teasing her. "Okay...so Assist, Sand Attack, Fury Swipes, and Pursuit. Assist should be fun, Sand Attack for getaways if necessary and then a couple of attack moves. Not bad at all."

Lizana came out of the bathroom wrapped in her towel and looked down at him while he scanned Purrloin. "How does she look?"

"I think she'd look just fine regardless of her moves, but the fact that she's got good moves is just an added bonus."

Purrloin seemed flattered at his comments and licked his hand, purring thankfully.

"She's a dark type like Zorua, Houndoom and even Poochyena, so if she has any dark moves they won't work too well."

"Yeah...but that's just perfect then. I don't want to be too rough on her during the trip to Sunnyside. I asked Purrloin to help give Alyssa and Poochyena some battle training on the way, plus it would be good for us to build up some more trust."

"I'll make sure to pack some extra berries then so Poochyena can be fully refreshed by the time he battles. The tournament starts at noon and there's a set of preliminary rounds to knock out all the competition until the top 10. With how many people sign up, the battles are usually pretty non-stop until then. It's a way to test the endurance of both the Pokémon and the trainer. We'll help do some training as well." She looked at Zorua and Houndoom, who both nodded their assent. "It's going to be a couple hours for the trip so it's enough time to get some strategies in and enough time to let Poochyena get a break since I'm seeing us there a couple hours before the start."

"Sounds good." He looked to Mothim and Eevee. "Do you guys mind sitting out and rooting on Poochyena from the sidelines?"

Both eagerly nodded and Eevee moved forward to give Poochyena a nuzzle, which sent Purrloin's tail flickering a bit.

He chuckled and whispered into her ear. "Now now...he's Alyssa's Pokémon and they're quite close. Even if Eevee was just being friendly, you still have to be second to Alyssa since they're pretty attached to each other."

She looked a bit defeated, but he just scratched her under her chin. "Don't worry. I'm sure he's got energy for both of you. If he's anything like Eevee he's got quite the sex drive so don't you worry." She looked at him in surprise again, but he just chuckled and winked at her, though she did seem to perk up a bit because of his comment, and he could feel her already starting to get a little damp around her hind legs, closing her eyes and purring at his affections.

Eevee came over to Purrloin and gave her a lick and started speaking into her ear, which made the feline smile and dampen even more between the legs.

Vael had just put on fresh clothes and they were already starting to get wet from Purrloin's excited purrs, so he lifted her up and set her down next to Eevee before putting his dex away and standing up as Alyssa came out of the bathroom. He hadn't heard the shower stop and Lizana was already fully dressed.

Lizana giggled a bit, having heard his conversation with Purrloin. "Alright I'm going to go warm up the hovercraft. Meet me out front in 10 minutes. Come on you two." She whistled to Houndoom and Zorua, who turned into a human and Vael had to admit that he could see why Lizana had been attracted to him.

He did look like a handsome, decently built young man. He was also a redhead, no doubt because of the color of his fur as a Pokémon. Lizana tossed him some male clothing that she had in her closet that he changed into and they went out arm in arm with Houndoom walking on her other side.

Alyssa whistled as she finished slipping her original dress over her head. Once again, she chose not to wear any undergarments. "Man...Zorua looks pretty handsome as a human." She knelt down and picked up Poochyena, staring into his eyes. "I bet you'd look pretty amazing as a human too. After all...if I think you look sexy now, you would probably be a bombshell of a man." Vael picked up Eevee and looked at her. "If you ask me, Eevee looks fine the way she is, even with all that fur. No need for your pokeball since we're going to be doing some training with Poochyena." Once she jumped up into his arms, he gestured towards the doorway with his head at Mothim. "Let's head out."

Alyssa smiled. "You know that once you get more Pokémon you won't be able to keep them all out of their pokeballs."

He sighed and nuzzled Purrloin. "I know...believe me...I know. Eevee is my first partner so she'll never be in her pokeball. Even if she manages to evolve into a larger evolution, she just won't be able to have her normal spot. But I'll definitely spend as much time as I can with each and every one of my partners. For now, Mothim and Purrloin don't need their balls. Let me enjoy their company a bit longer."

Alyssa smiled as Purrloin and Mothim both nodded to Vael. "Fair enough. I guess if I manage to get more Pokémon I'll be in the same boat as you."

They all headed out front and saw the hovercraft already floating above the ground and running, ready to go. Lizana waved at them as she opened the door, revealing that Zorua was the one behind the wheel.

Vael gasped. "He knows how to DRIVE?"

Liana's father came out and laughed heartily, clapping him on the back which sent him stumbling forward a bit with the strength behind the man's hand. "And he's one of the best too. He can even drive one of them big sky ships better than most of the other captains I know."

Vael was just dumbfounded in silence, but Lizana stepped in. "Don't worry. I can also drive if anything...unexpected happens to him." She smiled and then waved to her father. "I'll be back later tonight like usual during the tournament days.

Her father just smiled and waved as she guided the others into the craft. "Of course sweetie. You have a great day, but remember you guys promised to be my drivers for the early shift tomorrow...so get some rest tonight when you get home."

She blew him a kiss from the craft and closed the doors. "Yes Daddy." She giggled once the door was closed. "Bet you didn't expect him to know how to drive one of these did you?"

Both Vael and Alyssa shook their heads, still in awe. Even Eevee seemed to stare at Zorua as dumbfounded as the others, but he just looked over and winked at her, which sent her to hide bashfully behind Vael's head.

Lizana laughed and stroked Eevee comfortingly. "Don't worry...I was just as surprised how well he took to it too. But if something was to happen and he could not maintain human form, I really do know how to drive as well. I'm still not as good as he is, but it's enough. I think my father may have mentioned it as well once before, but he can also write. So you see...he really doesn't need to speak." She grinned. "Zorro...let's head out. Please call him Zorro when he's in human form. That's the name we came up with." They both nodded, and the hovercraft lurched forward, but that was the only movement felt to indicate they were moving. The rest of the ride was so smooth.

Vael whistled appreciatively. "Wow...he really can drive. It hardly feels like we're moving at all."

"I know...isn't he great? Now let's get some training in. Houndoom." He stepped forward when she called his name. "Let's practice dodging to gauge Poochyena's reflexes."

"That's a good idea. Purrloin...let's help out." He stepped beside Lizana and Purrloin jumped down next to Houndoom. Mothim mounted on the back of one of the seats to watch and Eevee jumped down beside Vael, sitting next to his legs.

Alyssa seemed to get a little nervous. "Two on one? Isn't that a bit unfair?" Poochyena jumped down to stand in front of Alyssa anyway, despite the odds.

Lizana looked around. The hovercraft is large enough to seat 20 people, but right now there were only two seats up. The driver and passenger seat up front. All the rest were nestled in the other 18 trap doors that led to the holding compartment. "This is the only way to be speedy about it. Make no mistake...Poochyena will be tired when we're done, but not to worry. I packed energizing and healing berries so he'll be ready for the tournament. This isn't enough space to have a real battle, so please keep moves to physical moves." She looked to Purrloin. "No sand attack either please. I know Pokémon abilities are like magic, so the last thing we need is this place to be filled with sand she summons out of nowhere."

Vael laughed and nodded. "True. Okay physical attacks it is. Remember Alyssa. This is about syncing up with Poochyena and it's only dodging, so why don't you practice calling dodges for Poochyena to get the timing down."

Alyssa swallowed and nodded. "Okay."

Lizana spoke next. "Poochyena. I know you have some good instincts, and I know you trust Alyssa, but we have to work on her timing, so please don't dodge until she tells you to. I know you'll likely take some hits, but this is training for Alyssa as much as it is training for you."

Poochyena nodded as well then looked to Alyssa with a reassuring smile, before taking a defensive stance as he looked at the two Pokémon in front of him.

Alyssa calmed down, Poochyena's reassurance giving her some confidence. "Alright then...I'm ready."

Vael called the first attack. "Purrloin, Fury Swipes."

Purrloin ran in on all fours, charging Poochyena with her claws out.

Alyssa waited for Purrloin to close in. "Dodge!" She had the first timing down. Poochyena moved his head to the side and again to the other side when she called for the second attack, finally ducking the last claw on her final command. He had been moving backwards as he dodged the cat, but stopped when she finished her attack and ran back to Vael.

Vael grinned. "Not too bad Alyssa. Good try Purrloin." She smiled at him and nodded.

Alyssa had been tense the whole time but relaxed a bit after the attack.

"No! Never let your guard down during a fight. Bite attack Houndoom." Lizana's command came suddenly but Houndoom had been waiting for it and dashed in quickly. Alyssa tensed right back up and tried to call the dodge out, but the reaction time was too slow and Poochyena took the attack on his shoulder as he tried to dodge.

"Oh no! I'm sorry Poochyena." She started to move forward, but Poochyena barked at her, stopping her in her tracks as he shrugged it off and shook his head, looking once more to Alyssa with faith.

Vael shook his head. "You can't go onto the field when the Pokémon are fighting. As soon as you do, it's equal to a forfeit. Remember what I said our first day. Pokémon are resilient, and even if it looks like a hard blow that really hurt, they can take a lot more. Only go in when the judge says someone's Pokémon is unable to battle."

Alyssa swallowed again and nodded once more. "Right. Sorry. Come on...let's do it some more."

They worked at it some more and indeed Alyssa's timing improved and she even started to get into it, catching on to Poochyena's movements and reflexes while calling out dodges and using gestures and everything. Poochyena was working a sweat up as well after all the moving around and dodging he was doing.

Vael looked to Lizana and she nodded, so he called Purrloin back from her latest attack. "Okay your timing and defense is looking pretty good. So now it's time for offense. It's time for you to call out attacks. We'll start dodging. What move to call out is really up to you, but there's generally a good time when to use the right move. That will come with time."

Lizana nodded. "For now just focus on how he executes his moves and if you work with them enough, eventually you both will become in sync and start to build your own battle style together. You have two Pokémon of two different heights, weights, and lengths. Choose which one to attack and see the difference." She stepped away from Vael and Houndoom followed, putting some distance between them so that Alyssa could focus on how the attacks were going to be executed.

Alyssa nodded. "Okay...so Poochyena knows Tackle, Howl, Sand Attack, and Bite."

Vael nodded. "Howl raises attack power so it's good to use when you have a moment of freedom in battle. But for now just focus on Tackling and Biting."

"Okay then. Poochyena...tackle Purrloin." She pointed to emphasize out of instinct and Poochyena immediately bounded forward aggressively.

Purrloin took a defensive stance and waited for Vael, having been listening to him for a while now with all the attacks. He waited for Poochyena to close the distance, and then told her to dodge and she jumped to the side, avoiding the blow.

Alyssa pouted at the dodge, but then pointed to Houndoom. "Alright...keep moving and try to Tackle Houndoom."

He immediately changed direction and went straight for Houndoom, good at sudden direction changes with all the dodging he'd been doing. And he was expecting Houndoom to dodge, but when Lizana said nothing and Houndoom didn't move, he jumped right into the hound, knocking him back a bit, but other than a grunt, he didn't seem too bothered.

Alyssa blinked. "Why didn't you dodge?"

Lizana smiled and looked to Houndoom. "Sometimes the opponent will do something you don't expect, so you must be able to think on your feet as I mentioned. Houndoom also knew I wasn't going to call a dodge because we've battled many trainers before. He knows how I think so he prepared himself for the blow. I may have intentionally planned to take the blow just to get your Pokémon close and launch a counterattack. Fighting types are famous for it, so it won't always be as you expect. Unpredictability is another thing to prepare for in a battle, which makes them so much fun. It's also why I was thoroughly impressed by Vael when I battled him in the gym. He fought very unconventionally and I loved it hehe. Not to mention Eevee's sexy moves." She spared a glance to said Pokémon who gave a smile and nuzzled Vael's leg shyly.

Alyssa seemed to take it all in, nodding. "Wow...there's a lot more to battling that I first thought. I always pictured it as one bully picking on another bully."

Vael laughed. "No that's not it at all. There's actually strategy and the idea that the more you work with Pokémon, the more alike you become. Hence why you'll eventually build your own style of fighting with your Pokémon. And you may need to approach battle differently sometimes depending on the Pokémon you use. I play semi-defensively with Eevee since she has so many stat changing moves. And I like watching the effects she has on other Pokémon too as I also think she's sexy when she does moves like captivate and charm. So I WANT to see them since I like watching her." He smiled down at her as well and she cooed softly up at him.

"But I also notice just from attacking with Purrloin that she has the potential to be quite fast and strong. I'll probably battle a little more aggressively with her, and I think she gets into the mood to fight aggressively as well after being held back by those others for so long. Now she'll be able to defend herself!" He held out a fist, still sore at the abuse she had taken before, much to the cat's delight at his concern over her. "Now keep the attacks coming, and don't let up!"

Alyssa smiled and nodded, calling out command after command, once more catching the rhythm of Poochyena's movements. They worked for the next hour on attacking, using different combinations of moves, some that hit, and some that were dodged, building up his strength and momentum. That is, until Alyssa called out for Poochyena to attack Purrloin with a Tackle that he was unable to dodge in time, striking the feline with enough force to make her cry out in pain and lay her out on the floor. She didn't move after that.

Vael gasped. "Halt! Purrloin is unable to battle. That was a critical strike there." He immediately knelt down by her side, Eevee there in seconds as well, picking her up and putting her in his lap as he stroked her softly.

Alyssa cried out. "Oh no! I'm so sorry." She and Poochyena both hurried over, but relaxed as Purrloin slowly opened her eyes.

Lizana nodded. "Truly a good strike. That's what happens when you two are in perfect sync. You were both so focused on making contact that you hit a perfect blow to cause a critical strike. She'll be fine." She handed Vael a berry and gave one to Alyssa as well. "That's just as well. We should be there any minute now."

Zorro nodded and spoke. "Zorua." An odd phrase and tone coming from a human mouth, but there it was.

Lizana looked out the window and they were already in Sunnyside city. "Ah good. Give that to Poochyena and we'll get you registered for the tournament." Once they were parked, she smiled to Vael. "I'll leave you to help her finish that berry. Mothim, come with us so Vael can find me when he's ready to come out and watch the tournament."

Vael nodded and looked over to Mothim, who had landed next to Purrloin and been using his wings to fan her in an effort to cool her off. "Yeah we'll be fine. I'll be out shortly."

Alyssa nodded and Poochyena leaned forward to lick Purrloin affectionately, which sent the kitty's tail to happily flicking back and forth as she continued to nibble on the berry Vael was holding for her.

Zorro handed Vael the keys and pointed to the locking mechanism, reminding him to lock up when finished, before transforming back into Zorua and following the others outside the craft, leaving Vael alone with Purrloin and Eevee.

He smiled at the two females as Purrloin finished the berry, he tail swaying lazily back and forth, still a bit happy from Poochyena's attentions. He shut the door to lock them out of the outside and stroked both females. "Purrloin. You were amazing there. I can't wait to see you in an actual battle."

She purred and licked the hand he had been stroking her with, then Eevee started to lick off the sweat and grime from the earlier workout they had been doing. Though fully healed now, she was still tired from the training, so did not complain as Eevee started giving her a bath.

He watched as Eevee set the feline to purring with the smooth bath and he started to stroke both of them, one with each hand since they were both in his lap and lying side by side and facing each other.
