Chapter 1 - Escape
Shadows of the Past Episode 1 Escape This is my first real post, the last one was never meant to be posted, long story. This is the first of a series, how many I don't know yet, depends on the response I get. This story is inspired by the upcoming Shadow The Hedgehog video game. The concept is borrowed, everything else is mine, the names, the world, and the history. No yiff in this episode, but there will be in the next one I promise. Please note that everything takes place on Mobius, a world inhabited by beings that call themselves Telron's, what we call furres. Do not use of my work without permission, which I will probably give, but ask first anyways. Any unique terms I use will be defined at the beginning of the story. Alright I'm done, on to the main event. Terms Scourge - Like our military Humvee's Raider - A heavily armed hovercraft designed to fly in and drop troops. A tall gray wolf, runs down a muddy alley way, a stolen black jacket, sneakers, and like wise stolen jeans covered his otherwise naked body. A pair of dog tags hung from his neck and a .9 mm handgun clenched in his hand. Behind him several heavily armed soldiers, dressed in full combat gear, chased after him, breathing heavily through their masks. He approached a turn in the alley and skidded around the corner and stopped. The path in front of him was blocked by a Scourge and several more armed soldiers, one carrying an RPG type weapon. The soldiers behind him setup a perimeter keeping him from doubling back. A loud whirring arose as a Raider rose up behind him, it's bright light blinding him. --FLASH-- He's back inside the lab, two furres are standing before him, but he can't move. "Congratulations doctor, the project is a success, the subjects vitals are stable and within acceptable range" the first voice said. "What about the serum, has it had the desired effect?" the second spoke. "Yes, the subject has no recollection of the procedure." "Good, If he knew what we did to him, there would be hell to pay." --FLASH-- Back in the alley, the wolf felt his rage rise within him. The world around him started to slow as he looked back towards the blocked path. His grip on the gun tightened as he shifted his weight and broke forward, bringing the weapon up to eye level then firing the remaining shots. Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang. Four shots left the barrel before anyone could react. The soldiers around the truck dove for cover as two of their comrades fell to the muddy ground. Dropping the empty gun he charged forward as the soldiers behind him and the helicopter fired. He moved across the alley, almost as if he new where everything would be before it was there. The soldier on the turret atop the vehicle opened fire and the remaining soldier on the ground picked up the RPG and fired. Seeing the rocket in slow-mo, the wolf jumped into the air and brought his foot down on to the rear section of the rocket, changing its trajectory, sending it flying upward into the tail rotor of the Raider. The craft spun round' uncontrollably before slamming into the roof of a nearby barrack. The wolf heard the sound of a grenade bouncing of the ground behind him. Landing on one foot he spun round, kicking the grenade in mid air, sending it back towards the soldiers that had thrown it. The explosion either killed of severely injured all those behind him. He jumped backwards onto his hands, then pushed off, landing on the railing of a fire escape and spin around to face the blockade again. Weaving between the bullets he jumped off of the railing towards the opposite wall and Kicking off of it, propelling him forward towards the soldier that had fired the RPG. He grabbed the soldiers face with his hand and slammed it into the pavement. The wolf jumped over the truck, punching the gunner in the neck, breaking it. The fight over. The wolf stood in shock of the carnage he had just wrought. Staring at his hands in disbelief he started to feel a dull pain in his head. --FLASH-- Voices again. "He's giving off some sort of energy..." The vision shifted like changing the channel on a TV. A war-zone, people screaming, explosions everywhere. Another change, this time men in medical masks are staring down at him as the vision fades. --FLASH-- He climbs into the truck and drives down the road towards the main gate. --FLASH-- The voices start again, "The tests are nearly complete, we clocked his top speed around 83 miles per hour, reflexes are up 70%, bone density has increased 50% ocular range has also increased 50%, his skin is also 3 millimeters thicker, the only negative effects we've found so far is his body seems to be giving off some nonlethal radiation." --FLASH-- The wolf drives towards the gate "Who am I?" he says to no one, "What did they do to me?, who are they? And for that matter where the hell am I?, and how did I get here?". The pain in his head started to spread down his neck. Just then three Raiders fell in above him and fired rockets at the Scourge. He swerved back and forth down the road, plowing over and through make shift blockades. The Scourge skidded around a corner and from there it was a straight half mile shot to the gate, which was closed, but he would deal with that later. He pulled the belt off the stolen jeans and tied down the steering wheel to keep the truck straight. Locking the cruise control he climbed out onto the roof and into the gun mount. He pulled back on the bolt and opened up on the chopper that had slid in front of him. Bullets struck the side of the chopper, rupturing the fuel tank and sending it down in a blazing fireball. Th other two starting shooting, he ducked down inside the turret housing. He stood back up and spun the turret around and blasted the second chopper, hitting the cockpit and taking out the pilot. The Raider dove nose first into the buildings below. The last remaining Raider fired a volley of rockets that hit the ground in front of the Scourge, sending it flying through the air. The wolf was thrown clear of the vehicle as it burst into flames. He collided with the bridge on the other side of the gate. The Scourge landed a few feet in front of him as gas spilt over the road causing it to burn. The Raider swung low over the flames and several ropes dropped from it's belly. A dozen or so armed soldiers repelled from the craft and surrounded him, weapons leveled. A voice sparked over their radios, the same from his visions. "He is to be taken alive if at all possible, if not, kill him." The radio cut out and the troops started to move in. Still on his hands and knees, the pain in his head still spreading to the rest of his body, it felt almost like his skin was going to burst. A blinding light filled his vision, then he felt a sensation like he was falling, then blackness. End Part 1
Well thats it for now, I have more but wanted to get a response first, I promise some Yiff in the next part. Any and all concepts are welcomed, but If you insist on ranting about how much I suck, please give me a reason.
