Birds of a Feather Chapter 2
#8 of Feral Minds
I've decided to change the title format because trying to think up bad puns or obscure references to use seems to take almost as long as actually writing the stories. Also it will make it easier to Identify which story is which.
In other news, I'm going to be finishing this story and Aquarium Quandry Chapter 3 soon (amazingly I've managed to figure out how I want it to end, eventually). Other than that, not much else to say.
Please comment, like, subscribe and check out my other ongoing stories. Input is appreciated, especially if I've missed some grammatical error somewhere or neglected a tag.
And feel free to suggest what you think the next species should be, I'd also love to hear scenario ideas.

The old and battered jeep rattled loudly as it rolled over the dry and dusty surface, the driver reaching up to wipe away some of the dust that continuously gathered on her goggles. With a sigh, she shifted uncomfortably in the hard seat, cursing the so called tradition that saw the newest ranger driving the crappier of the stations two vehicles, even though she probably had the most off-road experience out of the four at her station. With a loud revving the old jeep pulled itself sluggishly over a steep incline, the driver jumping as the radio crackled into life, blasting out a stream of static in which a faint voice could barely be heard over the clamours of the ancient engine.
Giving a frustrated sigh, the female ranger pulled the vehicle onto a mostly flat piece of ground, thankfully in the shadow of a towering pillar of red stone that sat in the middle of the wide valley, shutting the jeep off as she pulled her bandanna down from over her nose.
"Ranger four to ranger base, can you please repeat that, this piece of shit vehicle was screaming its guts out over you, and it doesn't help that this radio is older than I am," she growled into the handset, glaring at the flickering light on the dash.
"Ranger base to ranger four, don't talk about old faithful like that, you'll hurt her feelings. Anyway, you have a vehicle, what more could you want?" the radio crackled back, the voice barely distinguishable from the static.
"Air con would be nice," the ranger replied, shading her eyes as she gazed out beyond the shadow, squinting as something caught her eye, "Hold on, I'm seeing something weird here, looks metallic. Might be from our missing researcher."
"Copy that, rookie," the voice crackled back, "Just watch yourself, James found fresh evidence of poachers round those parts a few days ago and you're over six hours out, so help is far off."
"Copy that, ranger base, and call me rookie again and I'll feed you to the coyotes," she huffed back, slamming the old handset back into its holder as the voice on the other end chuckled.
"Dickhead," Samantha growled to herself as she walked to the edge of the shadow, taking a quick breath before stepping out into the sweltering heat, "Sweet fuck, it's hot."
Dejectedly, she walked over to what had caught her eye, picking up the dented metal water bottle, giving it a shake, surprised to find it was still half full. Apart from the massive dent in the side the bottle was much like the ones many rock climbers used, the young woman carefully inspecting it. Giving a small huff of victory, she reread the name painted around the base.
"Zachary, huh?" she murmured, "Hope you faired better than this thing."
"Maybe you should say that for yourself."
Samantha's blood ran cold as the voice rumbled behind her, her body shivering despite the heat at the touch of the barrel against the back of her head. Several other voices laughed behind her, leading Sam to believe that there were at least four of them, making it impossible for her to try and resist. If it had been only the one, or even just two, she may have had a chance at disarming them, but four would see her shot almost immediately. She slowly lifted her hands as the poacher behind her searched her for weapons, making a point of harshly gripping her rear, even going so far as to press his fingers roughly into her crotch. Giving a disappointed grunt when the young ranger didn't react, her grabbed her pistol from its holster on her hip and tossed it back, a soft whistle showing the men's admiration at her gun.
"Fancy piece for a little girl," a new voice cackled, the distinctive click of slider as he cocked the weapon making her cringe, the thought of someone like that touching it causing her stomach to boil, "Wonder how well it shoots?"
"Better than you on a double dose of Viagra, I'm sure," Samantha spat, surprised by the viciousness in her words.
"What was that you little slut?!" the man roared as his companions burst out laughing, Samantha feeling the barrel of the gun lift from the back of her head, "I'll blow your brains out!"
The shot echoed of the high walls of the valley, the laughs of the three men suddenly falling silent, a sudden change in the air confusing the female ranger.
"Shit, he's here!" one of the men yelled, the sounds of scuffling behind her made Samantha turn in surprise, staring at the shaft of wood that stuck out of the poachers head, the arrow having pierced his eye, the broad eagle feather that fletched it shining majestically in the near blinding sun.
"W-what?" Samantha stammered as she looked around in confusion, the other three poachers glaring up at the sky as if some monster was about to drop in on them.
"Shit," one of them hissed, suddenly noticing Samantha again, turning his rifle away from the sky to point it at her, "Shoot the girl, she's seen our faces!"
The other two looked down momentarily, staring at Samantha for barely a moment, but it was a moment too long. The shadow passed over her, the soft rustling of feathers almost unheard as sharp talons wrapped around her shoulders, wind beating down on her back as she was yanked up into the air. She watched in morbid fascination as the figure dropped down from the cliff face behind the poachers, a glint of metal flashing behind them as the back two gave a cry a pain before collapsing to the floor. The man with the rifle quickly spun round, managing to deflect the stranger's blade with his gun, twisting his body around and flinging their attacker to the floor, forcing him to roll away, to just beside the body of the first dead poacher.
"I'm going to skin you alive!" the enraged male howled as he lifted his rifle, the two shots echoing against the stone walls as he blinked in surprise, slowly toppling over.
Samantha could only watch in confusion as the unknown male quickly inspected the four dead bodies, his head suddenly jerking up as he grabbed something off of one of them, raising his hand to his mouth and letting out a high pitched whistle. The shadow dropped from the sky, suddenly engulfing him, before massive wings shot out, the anthropomorphic eagle gripping him by the shoulders and hoisting him into the air, just as a relatively new jeep roared around the edge of the stone pyre. Even the crooks have better rides than me, Samantha thought bitterly before the shots began to ring out, gasping as she was suddenly lifted even higher, the reinforcements suddenly shrinking to the size of ants as she soared out over the canyon.
Confused, the young woman looked up, her eyes going wide as she stared at the eagle above her, the majestic bird clasping Samantha's slender shoulders in her powerful talons. A sudden sense of realisation hit the novice ranger, her vision beginning to swim as she realised just how high up she was. A final thought flashed across her mind as she fell into unconsciousness. Crap, my gun.
Samantha shifted uncomfortably against the pile of sticks, cracking her eyes open slowly as she stared at the large nest in which she lay. Sitting up slowly, she looked around in confusion at the smallish cave, the back wall lined with various scavenged items, a badly damaged laptop lying closed on top of what looked like a small camping table. Blinking slowly, she smacked her lips, suddenly aware of just how thirsty she was, wondering how long it had been since she'd had a drink. But all her water was back in the jeep, the jeep that the poachers most probably had now. The memories came back to her in a flash, causing her dehydrated mind to ache slightly. Shifting backwards, she jumped as she bumped against something, staring in confusion at the plastic bottle of water, a small pile of what looked like dried meat lying on a cloth next to it.
"Wha...?" she trailed off, her voice cracking from lack of moisture. Resigning herself, Samantha picked the bottle of water up and cracked it open, taking short slow sips from the neck, shivering slightly as the soothing liquid ran over her parched throat.
"Oh good, you're awake," the voice made her jump, spinning around to look at its source, her head spinning slightly at sudden movement.
"Watch it, you've been out for a good few hours, happens on your first flight," the male spoke calmly, walking casually past her to the small table, pulling a short stool out from under it and sitting down, "But then again, yours was rather....impromptu."
"Who...?" Samantha croaked, her voice giving out again.
"Zachary. Zach," the young man replied, making Samantha start at the name, "You don't need to tell me your name yet, just wait till your throat feels better."
Samantha could only nod, carefully nursing the bottle of water as she inspected the youth in front of her. If this was really the Zach she was looking for, he looked nothing like the photos the University had provided. The well-kept sandy blonde hair of the photos was now hanging loosely against his head, tinged red with the dust that covered everything in this gods forsaken canyon, and the deep gash across his left temple, just barely starting to heal by the looks of it, was new. Other than that Samantha found herself staring at his broad chest, well-muscled from years of rock-climbing, littered with a number of small cuts and bruises. Some look like they're from talons, Samantha mused, wondering why they would be on his sides instead of just around the shoulders.
"If you're hungry you can eat the dried meat next to you," the young man's voice suddenly cut into her thoughts as he gave a shallow chuckle, "Coyote, tastes like shit, but it's better than nothing."
Samantha nodded, inspecting the strange meat suspiciously for a moment before she heard her stomach growl, a blush bursting across her face as she quickly snatched up a piece and bit into it, the sharp taste almost making her gag. Gritting her teeth, the ranger forced herself to chew through the entire pile beside her, giving a final shudder as she swallowed the last bitter mouthful.
"Heh, you get used to it," Zach laughed, obviously having seen the faces she'd pulled while eating the bitter flesh, "But maybe you won't have to."
Confused, Samantha looked up at him as she took another sip from the little water that was left in the bottle, watching in fascination as he tinkered with a handheld radio. She took the chance to look around the cave again, focusing more on the back wall where Zach now sat, somewhat amazed at the plethora of items hanging from the stone wall and laid out on the small table. Her eyes darted back to the researcher as he slammed the radio onto the table, making it shake violently, Samantha's eyes glinting as she caught sight of a familiar shape. The female suddenly shot to her feet, ignoring the dizziness it caused, surprising even Zach as she snatched her gun from the table top, hugging it to her chest as she gave a sigh of relief.
"Woah," Zach gasped, staring at her in mild shock, quickly spotting the gun, "Watch it with that, the girls don't like anyone who holds one."
"Girls?" Samantha croaked, her throat still a little dry, looking down at the seated man, her cheeks flushing as she stared down his chest, the subtle shape of his muscles sending a spark up her spine. Shaking it off, Samantha continued, "What girls?"
"Those girls," the youth pointed, Samantha turning to stare at the pair of eagles sitting just inside the cave mouth, eyeing her suspiciously, "Don't worry, they shouldn't attack you. Just keep the gun out of sight and don't make any sudden moves towards me."
"Okay...wait, what?" Samantha blinked, staring at Zach in confusion as he waved off the surprised question.
"Never mind. Look, I suppose you're supposed to be my rescue party, right?" Zach asked, giving a low sigh when Samantha nodded, the girl almost feeling hurt, "Well, that sucks. For both of us I mean. I was hoping I could rig this old radio to broadcast a signal, but the damn thing has almost no range. And even if I could, it'd zone those poaching fuckers right in on us. Not to mention that they took your car, as shitty as it looked, and they're out for my head. Again."
"So..." Samantha mumbled, licking her chapped lips, "What happens now?"
"Now?" Zach gave a resigned laugh, almost as if he had given up hope, "Now we wait for the cavalry to arrive."
Samantha murmured as she blinked awake, her eyes sticky due to lack of water, slightly surprised by the bright glow that filled the cave. Even though he had a decent store of bottles, Zach had told her that they couldn't drink too much at once, as they didn't know when Samantha's ranger squad would come out or when he'd be able to perform another raid on a poacher camp, something he'd apparently done several times since his disappearance almost two weeks prior. Yawning slightly, Samantha shifted in the uncomfortable cot, something Zach had managed to grab in one of his raids, yet had yet to use for some reason.
Forcing herself awake, the ranger looked around the eerily lit cave, the full moon shining brightly through the entrance. Shifting slightly, Samantha tensed as the old cot beneath her creaked, her eyes darting around the space nervously. A soft murmur drew her attention as she stared in surprise, the moon light falling on the figure of a young man as he gently massaged an anthro eagle's shoulders. The bird gave a small chirp, pressing back into his hands as he continued to work, Samantha watching a scaled talon sliding slowly up the male's thigh.
"Again?" Zach's voice was a whisper, Samantha frozen in place as she watched to two move, "Fine, but try to be quiet, we shouldn't wake her up."
Samantha wondered for a moment if perhaps he meant her, the thought immediately leaving her mind as she heard the sound of a zipper being pulled. Shocked, the young woman watched as the eagle gave a quiet trill, allowing herself to be gently laid on the floor by the male, giving an excited tittering as he pulled his shaft from his pants. Samantha stared at the rod, the pale moonlight reflecting off the drop of liquid forming at its tip. She unconsciously licked her lips as she watched the male slide his hand down the eagle's stomach, making her arch her back as he pressed his fingers against her feathered crotch.
Samantha shivered as she felt her hands inching their way down her body, sliding quietly into her shorts and rubbing gently against her already damp panties. Shuddering, she was surprised that this strange display was turning her on so much, wondering just how far the male would go. As if to answer her question, Zach shifted over the eagle, carefully lifting her hips up as he knelt below her, the moonlight illuminating the avian's dripping crotch. A small chirp from the bird pulled Samantha's eyes away for a moment, a look of pure bliss flashing across the eagle's face. She had barely looked back when she saw the tip of the shaft pressed against the eagle's puffy crotch, rubbing it gently, smearing her juices over the head. Samantha bit back a moan as she felt her crotch ache, her hands having already slipped inside her panties, a single finger working its way slowly into her slit, copying the teasing movements of the male's shaft.
Samantha was barely able to contain the gasp as he plunged into the avian, her finger following suite. She fought to stop her back from arching, but still shifted a little too much on the cot, making it creak slightly. Instantly she froze, staring at the two with wide eyes, her heart racing in her chest as she tried to calm her shaking breaths. Luckily it seemed like the two hadn't heard her, giving out low moans and chirps as they moved against each other. Samantha swallowed lustfully as she stared at the pair, unable to stop herself from panting slightly as she moved her finger to match the slow pace of the male, unable to look away as she watched the shaft slide in and out of the twitching bird's hole, her body beginning to shiver as she felt her own orgasm coming. The eagle suddenly let out a high-pitched trill, her wings snapping out as she pushed herself up into Zach's lap, wrapping her forelimbs around his neck as she continued to press against him, bobbing her hips against his erratically as she opened her beak, her eyes going blank as he gave a deep moan, thrusting up into her forcefully. A moment passed, the eagle suddenly going slack on top of the man, sliding down against his chest.
"Finally settled down?" the male chuckled quietly as the eagle pressed her head into his neck, nuzzling against him gently, pulling her wings in slowly as she rested in his lap, "Then to bed with you."
Carefully, the male shifted himself under the bird, slipping his arms under her to pick her up, the eagle giving a happy chirp at this sudden progression. She pressed her beak gently against his cheek as the male carried her over to the large nest that sat near the back of the cave, Samantha staring as the moonlight reflected off the liquid oozing from the avian's crotch. With a sudden shiver, Samantha realised that she had stopped just short of her own orgasm when the eagle had cried out, the aching in her crotch now even worse than before. She was almost tempted to get up and ask for the young man's help when a second chirp made her freeze. She watched as the male gently laid the tired eagle in the nest, careful not to accidentally twist one of her wings, when a second bird suddenly rose from the shadows, nearly stepping over her nest mate as she pushed the human back several steps, until they stood almost directly in front of Samantha's cot.
The ranger could only watch in amazement as Zach allowed himself to be pinned down by the far smaller bird, the moon illuminating a slight grin on his face as the eagle positioned herself over him. Samantha watched as the female pressed her feathered crotch against his semi-erect penis, slowly grinding up and down the length of the shaft as it started to harden. Now fully erect, the shaft pressed firmly against the eagle's crotch, making the bird trill almost silently as she dragged herself over it. Lifting herself up, the eagle carefully gripped the rod in her talon, positioning it against her crotch, her body visibly shivering as she slowly lowered herself onto the male, her other talon still firmly "pinning" him down. A low moan from the male made Samantha shiver as she pressed her finger deeper into her crotch, unable to stop staring at the place where the two met. She watched as the eagle lifted herself almost entirely off of the shaft, before slowly dropping her hips back down again, letting out a pleasured trill as she slowly began to pick up the pace, dropping her hips faster and faster with each thrust.
Zach gave a low groan as he suddenly gripped the avian by the hips, thrusting up into the surprised bird, who let out a quiet chirp. Her surprise didn't last long though as the male thrust up again, sending a shiver through her feathered body, her beak twitching open as he wings twitched open, spreading a little more with each thrust from the male. Samantha stared at the eagle's eyes, amazed at the pleasure that seemed to be coursing through the bird's body, her golden eyes glazed over as she bounced against Zach's crotch. A sudden final thrust from the male sent the bird over the edge, her wings snapping open fully as she arched her back, her eyes going wide as the long warbling trill left her beak. Samantha watched, engrossed by the carnal act as the eagle slowly slumped down against the male, who easily sat up under her now shaking claw. After a moment he seemed to whisper something to the eagle, the bird lazily slipping out of his lap and standing, giving her body a wide stretch, Samantha's eyes glued to the avian's crotch as the white liquid dripped slowly down the inside of her thigh.
The eagle gave a please chirp as Zach pressed himself up against her back, slipping his arms around her waist and pulling her close, pressing his face into the soft feathers of her shoulder. Samantha stared as the two stood like that for what felt like an eternity, her own body shivering beneath the sheet as she watched the two cuddling. For a moment the realisation of what she'd just seen struck Samantha like a tonne of bricks, the young ranger almost leaping off of the cot to confront the male about his actions. She'd barely managed to sit up as she suddenly realised that her hands were still in her pants, her fingers never having stopped as she now suddenly stood in front of the surprised couple. Samantha hesitated for a moment, suddenly praying that the heated pressure building up inside of her would subside, but she had no such luck.
Samantha moaned, her throat opening as she felt her orgasm rocket through her body, letting out the guttural noise as she arched her back, her toes curling as she fell back onto the cot, allowing her legs to spread apart instinctively as her fingers continued to drive themselves into her, her entire body beginning to tingle uncontrollably. She shivered as the pleasure washed over her mind, barely aware of the eagle suddenly upon her. Pain rocketed through her chest, blasting the pleasure away as she stared in shock at the eagle's outstretched talon, a dark liquid soaking onto the cloth grasped in her powerful grip, the male shouting something as he pulled the eagle back, his arms locked around her shoulders. Confused, the ranger looked down, staring in shock at the front of her shirt, the fabric almost completely ripped away, even her bra hanging in tatters as her blood seeped from the three deep gashes in her chest.
Looking up in horror, Samantha watched as Zach pushed the eagle gently back, seeming to scold her for a moment before rushing towards her, reaching behind the stunned girl to switch on a camping light, the harsh artificial light blinding her for a moment before her eyes adjusted, focusing on the worried face of the attractive young man, his lips moving to form a single word.
"Fuck."
