Wings Wide Open By Sean D. Cushing

A little poem/song I wrote after listening to some music by a musician by the name of "Scratch21" (Who's really good too, I'll try to link one of his songs in the comments :3

I've been deep in that abyss

Thought no one would ever miss

this grain among the sand

'till I thought of a better plan

Took so long to find

what I had all the time

and now that I know

It's time for me to show

(Chorus)

With my wings wide open

I turn to the sky

and with love I'm hopin'

to keep this dream alive

So shake off that hatred

but don't forget the pain

cause if you're gonna make it

you gotta know where you came

so with my wings wide open

I turn to the sky,

and with my wings wide open

I kiss my fears goodbye

I know you won't really listen

to the words I say

because the pain is too big

to just kick it out of the way

But if you turn the voices down

and let your life be yours

then you won't be left out

of golden doors

so with your wings wide open,

just turn to the sky

and with your love to guide you

keep your dream alive

Shake off that binding hatred

but don't forget the pain

cause if you're gonna make it

you gotta know where you came

and with your wings wide open

turn to the sky.

and with your wings wide open,

kiss your pain goodbye.

(Solo)

So with our wings wide open

we turn to the sky,

and our love that guided

we made our dreams come alive

and we're free of hatred

but remember the pain

and we know that we made it

cause we know where we came

And with our wings wide open

we soar in the sky

and with our wings wide open

we kiss our pain goodbye.

A Strangers Request: Chapter 3: Drill Days

"ATTEN-TION!" The drill instructor blared the recruits. Allen stiffened to an attentive pose, cold air biting at his fur. The Instructor, Sergeant Miggery "Hill" Paterson, eyed each scrub of a private with utter disgust. He paused in front of a grey...

A Strangers Request: Chapter 2: A Dirty Dollar Day
