A Lonely World

"Drako what do you mean he's you?" said Demona getting closer to Drako's hunched over form

Drakonis started to laugh and he said "He is right my love. You see I come from a hundred years in the future and I finally decided that it was time to go and make everything fall into place, also I wanted my mate back and since I killed her I needed to get the past Demona."

Demona turned to face the large ugly wolf and she screamed "What are you talking about Drako's nothing like you."

"She's right now tell us the truth who are you really?" said Luna standing next to Demona growling

"He's not lying...I can feel...something evil in me...and I can't stop it..." said Drako trying to get to his paws

Demona turned to look back at Drako and she said "Don't say that Drako I know you all too well you can't be evil it's not possible."

"But it is and I'm sorry to say it but you'll get used to it my love." Said Drakonis walking toward Demona

"Stay away from me." yelled Demona and she shot a ball of flame at Drakonis

The ball made him catch fire right away but without a single cry of pain Drakonis didn't stop. The flames died after a moment not even leaving a mark on the gigantic wolf. He got within two inches of her nose and said "Nice try my love but that can't hurt me. I have gained countless powers over the years and one of them is the ability to stop others powers."

"What do you want here Drakonis." Said Demona not backing away

"I needed to be here to make sure events played out how they were supposed to. But with all my planning it still seems like something went a little wrong." Said Drakonis

"Like what." Said Luna

"First off Drako wasn't supposed to change until the end of the week and Luke wasn't supposed to turn back into himself. But it's ok with me I will have others to serve me. But Demona I also came back for you so stop stalling say goodbye to old Drako and lets go." Said Drakonis

"I would never go with you." Yelled Demona

Drakonis laughed again and said "Like you have a choice." But before he could do anything a strange light filled the air and Drakonis was thrown a few feet away. He landed hard on his back knocking the wind out of him. For a moment no one knew what happened but then Demona and Luna turned to see Drako standing up and his eye's glowing red.

"No one will ever hurt my love or mate again. You may be what I was to become Drakonis but I'll never let I happen." Said Drako

Drakonis got to his paws and started to laugh as he said "Why are you always so angry Drako? You see I know what this power is like and you'll see you can't fight it soon. The power to copy others powers have two stages and soon the evil virus that put itself in you will jump start your power and you won't have any control over the powers, feelings, and memories that will flow into you. That's what made me give in and to this day I'm happy I did."

"I'll never be like you." Yelled Drako and he ran toward Drakonis. Drakonis only smiled and stood his ground watching as the enrage wolf ran at him

Then Drakonis said "5...4...3...2...and 1" and as he said the last number pain shot through Drako's head

A voice came from what seemed to be his very soul and it said "You can't fight it Drako and I'll show you why." Then Drako fell to the ground yelling out in pain as his power grew larger than it had ever done before. He could feel the emotions, memories, and powers of everyone within a ten mile radius. His body couldn't take it all in at once and he felt like his body was going to be split in half.

Drakonis looked down at the screaming wolf and then he looked at Talon who was just waking up. Talon got up then looked at Drakonis and said "What the hell Drakonis I thought you only wanted Demona what are you doing here."

"Only getting what I want Talon but since I still have time I'll take off for now, why don't you have some fun, but don't kill Drako."

"Why should I listen it you." Said Talon almost yelling

"Do what you want then but don't be surprised if you get killed. Demona I'll be back for you soon." Said Drakonis laughing like a mad wolf and vanishing in a flash of green light

"Whatever you say Drakonis but I can't die." Said Talon looking at Drako and smiling "and when I'm done killing Drako I'll go after you too."

Drako got up his head still hurting and he said "Talon please don't attack me I'm not sure what will happen and I don't want to kill you. If your sister can be good then so can you."

"You shouldn't talk to me like that Drako when you can't even control the power going through you."

"Talon I have seen the evil that lives in you and I know you don't want to be like this, it's the virus that's livening in you." Said Drako his eyes tearing up as he tried to fight the feeling flowing in him

Talon laughed and said "The virus is part of me now and I like it so stop trying to keep me away because I came for one reason and only one reason and that was to kill you and take your power. I've done so much and work hard to get to this point and no one will stop me from getting what I want." And after that Talon vanished

Drako's head throbbed harder and his body moved without him telling it too and then Talon reappeared right where Drako had been. Drako's head wouldn't stop hurting and he had no control over his body. He felt himself pull at Bain's power and then he shot a red beam of power at Talon. Talon moved just in time and the beam passed right by him. Talon vanished again and so did Drako his body still moving without him telling it too.

The two reappeared in mid air snarling and biting at each other. The rest of the fighters backed off to escape the power of their blows. Every time they hit each other a blast of air would flow out from them, powerful enough to crack the stone of Drako's Peak. As they fought Demona looked up at Drako and let out a cry. As they fought Drako's body had started to change.

With every blow he started to look more and more like Drakonis. She wished she could do something but Sheba pushed her to make sure she stayed away. When she tried to push pass her she growled and said "Demona there's nothing you can do so stop fighting me and get back into the formation now."

"I can't let this happen I don't want to lose him."

"I know but this is a fight only Drako can do. If you get in his way he'll only lose this fight."

"You don't understand Sheba he's changing."

"I don't understand you say? For your information I had to fight that same thing he did and I almost lost. I know that Drako can win."

"But what about..."

"What Drakonis...He's from the future and the future is never set in stone."

Tears started to fall from Demona's eyes as she turned around and started walking back up to the formation. As she walked she said "You better be right Sheba."

As she walked off Sheba sighed and said "I hope I am too."

Drako's body fought Talon with all it had but the real fight was going on in Drako's head. He was fighting the strange virus that was making him fight Talon. The problem was that with all of Drako's power the thing had power over them all and he could use the mind control on Drako. By doing this he was able to keep Drako's mind held back.

As Drako fought the virus his body was starting to wear down after using so many power attacks on Talon. The hard truth was that Talon had been using his powers for centuries and he had a lot more stamina than Drako did. He started to pant and slow down the longer he fought Talon.

"Drako it's too bad you never learned how to control your power. But I know it's hard to except the virus but if you would have you would have been able to use your body and maybe win." Said Talon using a heat power to throw Drako to the ground

Drako got to his paws and he started to scream as his head felt like it was going to split open and his body felt like it was on fire. Talon landed not far away from him smiling as Drako screamed. Then Talon's smile faded as he saw Drako's body start to change even more. Black strips started to form on Drako's back, his fur on his neck started to get longer, he started to grow a bit, and when he looked at Talon his eye's had started to change (one black the other red.)

"This can't be happening. You're Drakonis?" said Talon

Drako smiled and said in the same evil voice as Drakonis "I'm not sure." Then he screamed more and his body started to change back and he yelled "No I won't let you take me over."

"I don't know what that monster did to you Drako but I won't let you turn into him. It's time for you to die." And with that Talon attacked

Back at the top of Drako's Peak Bain came running out of the main cave to the group looking out over the battle and he said "Sheba have you seen Sarah?"

"No not since the battle started why?" said Sheba

Ti walked up next to him and said "She's missing and we can't find her...oh no."

At Ti's words they all looked down at where he was looking and they all know what he meant by oh no. Bain walked to the edge of the formation and yelled down toward his daughter who was running toward the two fighting wolves "Sarah don't you'll get killed."

Sheba swore loudly and said "I'll get her Bain." And then she vanished

Right as she did this Talon had just run toward Drako yelling in anger at Drako's Changing form. But before he could reach him and before Sheba could get to Sarah she stepped in front of Drako facing toward Talon. Talon came to a stop and said "What are you doing child?"

"Drako is in pain and you're trying to kill him. He is my daddy's friend and I don't want my daddy losing someone he loves." Said Sarah

Sheba appeared close to them and yelled "Sarah get away from him."

"Stay out of this sister." Yelled Talon his eyes glowing and making his sister fly back and hitting the side of the formation then he looked back at Sarah and said "Child I don't care about anything you'll have to say. Now move or die it's up to you."

"You killed my mother and used her for your own evil needs. She loved you it's true and she never loved me or my daddy but still she was my mother and you killed her. For that I think you can be the one to die." Said Sarah

Talon started to laugh as he ran toward them and said "A pup telling me to die."

Sarah stood her ground and watched as the large black wolf ran toward her and Drako who was still yelling out in pain. As he approached wind started to blow and the little wolf's body started to glow a brilliant white. Then the ground started move and shake.

"Drako you can DIE..."Yelled Talon and he jumped at the two wolves but right before he landed his attack the moving ground shot up wards forming a large spike. The spike hit Talon in mid air running right through him.

The spike then pulled back into the ground and Talon hit the ground hard blood pooling out from his body. He slowly moved his head toward the large hole in his belling and he let out a small wine of pain as he realized that the healing power he had stolen from Drako in the last fight wasn't working at all. He tried to use a different power and with a shock he found out nothing was working.

Sarah walked up to him and said "Your power won't work around me. Now you can find out what death is really like Talon. This time you won't be getting out of hell."

"Why. I don't understand." Said Talon his vision fading

Sheba had woken up from her daze and walked up to Talon too and said "Brother you should have known this would happen. There was always one power that would be greater than your own. This pup has two powers. I don't understand them yet but one seems to be the power to block the powers of others. You're going to die Talon along and helpless like the pup you once were. I'm sorry it had to end like this."

"NO...I...can't...let it end...like this...killed by a...pup...sister please...help...meeeeee..." said Talon

"Sorry Talon but I can't. My job was to make sure you died."

"But...I'm...scared to die..." said Talon tears filling his eyes

"You should have thought about that when you did what you did Talon. I just hope one day you can be saved because there is more to death then you think. Good bye my brother." Said Sheba

"N...no...please...don't...don't...let...me...d...di...die..." said Talon and with that his eye's went blank and the evil wolf's body stopped moving. Talon was finally dead, killed by a pup.

A tear ran down Sheba's face as she saw her brother's life fade away. She knew he was evil but the desperation in his voice made her feel sorry for him even if it was for a little bit. Then she turned to look at Drako and she said "Drako calm yourself and think about the one's you love. That will drive the evil away for a time. I know you have the power in you come one."

Drako started to pant hard then he stopped yelling and he said in a weak voice "Thanks Sheba."

"Anytime now let's get you and Sarah back to the formation. We need to find a way of stopping Drakonis now and a way of stopping you from turning into him." Said Sheba

Right then Demona and the rest showed back up next to Drako looking worried at what had happened. Luna walked up with Luke to look at Talon's body then she said "Is he gone."

Sheba smiled and said "He is but I'm afraid we have something a lot worse to worry about now. I'll explain inside, Bain you need to get Sarah away from everyone so she can rest and Demona get Drako to a place where he can rest too. We need to plan for what is to come. This war is not over yet. I want everyone but Drako to meet me in the main cave in two hours."

"Who died and made you boss." Said Trixey looking up at the white wolf

"No one but I'm the only one who knows what may happen so shut your little muzzle and do as I say." Said Sheba

"Don't talk to her like that." Said Kent getting in front of Trixey and growling at Sheba

"Do as she said you two." Said Luna looking at the two fox's

Trixey and Kent mumbled a bit but did as they were told and walked off. Demona and Sheba helped Drako get to his feet and walk up the long path leading up to Drako's Peak. Once they had him settled down in one of the smaller caves away from the main cave.

Drako laid himself down and said in a weak voice "Thanks. I'll just rest for now."

Demona kissed him then said "You do that my love we'll be back later to check on you."

"Thank you Demona." Said Drako closing his eye's

"Come Demona we have a lot of work to do and not much time to do it in." said Sheba

"I know but could I please stay with him for a little while so I can keep an eye on him?" said Demona

Sheba looked a little worried at that then she started to remember back to the time when she had wanted to stay with Drako like Demona does now. She knew that deep down in her heart she too still loved Drako and she would never have him as her mate, but then she smiled at the look Demona gave her and said "You may stay for a little while I can get Tella to help me out for a bit."

"Thanks Sheba." Said Demona

Sheba only smiled and walked off heading toward the cave Ray and Riley stayed in. She wanted to see this new pup that had been named Fell. The cave wasn't far away and she reached it within moments and she found Riley and a small black pup next to her sleeping.

At Sheba's arrival she smiled and said "Sheba what brings you here at a time like this."

"I needed to see the pup Riley. Has Ray told you about what Sarah did to Talon?" said Sheba

"He did, he left a few moments ago to help get rid of Talon's body. But what does that have to do with Fell?"

"Sarah is only a few months old and she has already shown great power. Normally it takes about two years for powers to show themselves."

"I still don't know what this has to do with Fell."

"I want to use one of my powers to see if any power is flowing through him yet. If it is we will need to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't get hurt."

"He's not even a day old yet Sheba how could he have any power yet." Said Riley

"Sarah was born from the same line as Drako and if she showed power this early then a direct descendant from the most powerful wolf may show signs sooner. Don't worry I won't hurt him." Said Sheba

Riley looked down at her new born pup then said "I don't think he is anything like you or Drako but as long as you don't hurt him I'll allow it."

"Thank you Riley." Said Sheba closing her eyes and letting her mind flow out and letting it wash over the small black pup. At first noting happened but then a small flicker of light started to shine right where Fell was. It wasn't much but it was still stronger than a wolf his age should have. She opened her eyes and said "As I thought this one is like Sarah. The powers that are passed down from father to son, mother to daughter is showing itself in younger wolves."

"Do you mean Fell will have power too?" asked Riley her eyes filling with tears

"Yes but it's too soon to be able to tell what it may be. If Drako was better he could tell right away but for now we'll have to wait it out and see what happens."

"I see, I only hope it's nothing evil." Said Riley

"Me too." Said Sheba looking down at the small black pup

Back at Drako's cave Demona was sitting next to him looking at the black strips that were still on his back and the main of fur that was longer than normal. Drako was moving and whimpering in his sleep as though he was having a bad dream. Demona wanted to wake him but she knew he needed the sleep so she let him rest on.

Drako on the other had wished someone could help him out. His power was still out of control as he slept and he was pulling more and more at Demona's memories. He didn't want to invade on her privacy but he couldn't help it and soon he lost all control and he was thrown into her past.

Drako soon found himself floating behind two wolves and a pup sitting in the middle of a large clearing that Drako knew he had seen once before. One of the wolves was tall and pure white with Red eyes. She looked like she could be Demona but Drako knew it couldn't be her. The other wolf was a normal looking grey wolf male and the other a very light grey wolf pup with yellow eye's that had to be almost a year old.

The white one looked down at the pup and said "Demona be a good girl and go get Frea for me."

"Yes mother." Said the little wolf pup bounding off into the woods

Drako was forced to follow until the wolf pup stopped in the bushes not far from her mother. She then got down low and listened in on the conversation going on between the two wolves.

"Deama my lord Nordic and the elder guardians are on their way here right now to find out what's going on with you and your power." Said the grey wolf

The white wolf smiled and said "Nordic must have found out about my illness then."

"I'm not sure but what of your power who will get it if you get worse."

"I think Demona will."

"Why do you say that, she's barely a year old?"

"True but she's one of the strongest fighters we have, even at her tender age. My power has already started to fade and Demona has started to lose the color in her fur. The thing is I don't want my daughter to get my power."

"Maybe she won't."

"I'm sure she will. The power goes to the strongest of us and she's going to be stronger than even Me." said Deama

"Shouldn't you tell her about it then?"

"Not yet, when Nordic and the other Guardian's of this area come I'll see if we can find someone else to take the power." Said Deama

"She'll be mad at you if you lie to her my lord."

"Vain I know this but if we do it right she won't even know about it." said Deama

Tears started to fall from the wolf pup's eye's and with a closer look Drako could tell that she was Demona. She wiped the tears away with her paw and whispered "I know something was wrong with me. But why would she lie to me like that?"

Demona got to her paws and walked away. After a few minutes she arrived in another clearing filled with at least twenty wolves. As she walked into the pack a lot of the wolves started cheering and praising her for god knows what. She ignored them and walked through the crowd of wolves and finally stopped next to a large dark grey wolf.

She looked up at him and said "Frea mother's looking for you."

"Demona it's good to see you. I know she's looking for me but the other guardians will be here any moment and your mother and me should be here to great them. But knowing your mother she won't be here even if the War god himself was coming." Said the large wolf called Frea

"Frea why do you stay around here when your area of protection's so far away?" said Demona

Frea laughed and said "It's because something's wrong with the lord of flame and I want to make sure she stays in good health. She is my little sister and I couldn't stand seeing her get sicker."

"So you know of her illness too. I don't know why she won't tell me about it."

"My power over the mist and water tells me many things young one and I'm sure she doesn't tell you because she doesn't want to worry you."

"I know it's for a different reason. She said something about me getting her power and she doesn't want that to happen." Said Demona

"So that's why Nordic and the others are on their way here." Said Frea

"I'm not sure but I'll need to talk with my mother about this soon." Said Demona

"Demona you're still young, you shouldn't be worrying about this kind of thing yet." Said Frea

"I may be young Frea but I'm not stupid or weak and I don't like being lied too." Said Demona

Frea was about to say something but right then his eyes got large and he turned toward the woods and said "They are here."

"I see then I'll get mother and let her know." Said Demona

"No don't, she'll know. We can tell when another Guardian is near us. Stay and meet them you'll like them I know it." said Frea as four whit wolves walked up to them

The one in the front walked up to Frea and said in a deep voice "Frea my brother why are you away from your post?"

"Nordic Ice Wolf my brother I have come for the same reason as you." Said Frea

"Still you shouldn't just leave your area of protection like that."

"Don't worry the war's are over with and my area is fine. I won't leave at a moment like this Nordic. The three of us go way back if you haven't forgotten." Said Frea

Nordic smiled and said "I understand and you can stay for now but next time clear it with the elders first."

"We'll see." Said Frea with a smile

Demona watched them talk knowing that the reason they called each other brother wasn't because they were related but because they all had great power that was given to them by Drako-Lupus the war god. She looked up at Nordic with a little fear in her eyes. Apart from Frea and her mother, Nordic was the only other Guardian she had ever met and his light grey eye's made her shiver with fear. The wolf had been the strongest fighter in the land before he was given the power of a Guardian. He was now one of the top ranked Guardians do to his many win's in battle and his fearless attitude toward anyone and anything.

Nordic looked at her and said "Demona daughter of Deama the lord of fire why are you listening in on our conversation?"

"If what my mother has said to her friends then I have every right to listen in on your conversation if I want."

"You speak to me like you are a top ranked Guardian like myself what gives you the right to do this?" said Nordic

"Because from what I understand I will soon become the new Lord of Flame and I'm not scared of you Nordic no matter how powerful you maybe." Said Demona glaring up at him

Nordic glared back at her for a full minute then he smiled and said "You will make a powerful Guardian one day Demona that's for sure but you should know that I have come on your mothers request to help get her power passed on to someone else."

"But what if I want to be given the chance to be like you and Frea?"

"Well then I couldn't stop you from getting them. The war god chose you to take her power and he will only let it pass to someone else if the person he chose doesn't want the power." Said Nordic

"Good then she can't stop me from talking it when she's gone." Said Demona

"She is still your mother Demona why aren't you more sad about your mother's fate." Said Nordic

"It's not that I'm not upset about what will happen to her but I have chosen to morn her in my own time that's all." Said Demona

"So young but so wise." Said a wolf that was standing behind Nordic who Demona knew from her mother's stories was called Brian the lord of lands, he had the power to control the plants around him.

Right then Deama came out from the woods behind the rest of the pack and said "Demona what's taking you so long to get...Oh Nordic, Elders I wasn't expecting you so soon."

"You mean to tell us that you didn't know we were here yet." Said Brian

"Well no I couldn't tell." Said Deama

"Then your illness has gotten worse since Nordic's last visit." Said another wolf guardian elder

"Can we talk away from my daughter?"

"No we can't mother. I know everything that's going on so stop trying to hide it from me. I know your dying and you only have a few day's left to live and I'm getting your power. I also know you didn't want me to take over your power and that's why you called for Nordic. But I won't give up the power no matter what you say to Me." said Demona

Deama looked at her daughter and said "Demona I'm sorry I lied to you but I didn't want you to live the life I've had to. It's not an easy life for me and I wanted you to live a normal life."

"Mother I'm not going to be a pup forever and you can't always chose what path I take in life." Said Demona

Deama looked down and said "You'll never understand what I mean Demona you're a disappointment to me."

"You can't ever be wrong can you mother. I hate you." Yelled Demona running off toward the caves not far from the open clearing

She hid in one of the cave's crying as she watched the guardians talk for over an hour. She said out loud "Why can't she ever see me for what I am and not as a pup?"

"It's because you are my daughter and I only want what's best for you that's all." Said Deama who had walked up to her when Demona had looked away

"Get away from me."

"I know you're mad about what I did but could you please forgive Me." said Deama

"Why should I?" said Demona

Deama sighed and said "Because it's true that I won't be in this world for much longer and I don't want our last few days together to be spent arguing."

"Then stop trying to make me something I'm not. I want to be like you."

"I know you do but trust me the life of a Guardian is a lonely one."

"I'm not worried about that." Said Demona

Deama started coughing, blood flying out of her mouth. After a few more coughs she fell to the ground then she said "I will need rest soon."

Demona only watched her mother for a bit then said "What are Nordic and the others going to do."

"The will stay the night and leave once the power transfer is done. They want to see if they can talk with Drako-Lupus about choosing a new Guardian."

"It's not fair mother."

"But it is needed if you are to have a normal life Demona." Said Deama coughing more and spitting out more blood

Demona went to walk by her mother but she reached out and let her paw rest on Demona's side. Then something extraordinary happened, a bright light filled the air and pain ran through Demona's body. She fell to the ground yelling in pain then all at once the pain stopped.

Demona opened her eyes and looked around, she saw her mother lying almost half dead next to her. Demona almost screamed when she saw that her mother was no longer pure white with red eye's but a light grey with yellow eyes.

Demona walked up to her and said "Mother what happened?"

Tears ran down Deama's face as she said "No, this can't be. My illness has gotten to the point where the power wouldn't stay in me."

"Mother what happened answer me!" yelled Demona and then with her rage heat flooded through her and in a horrifying blast of orange light, flames filled the small cave engulfing everything in fire.

Once the flames died down Demona found she wasn't hurt one bit, but Deama wasn't so lucky. The once proud white wolf that was her mother was now black and burnt. She was still breathing and she looked over to her daughter and said "Demona...I'm sorry..."

Demona ran to her mother's side and said "Mother what happened?"

"You...have...taken...my power...and used...it on me...I know...you didn't...mean too...the power of fire...is hard to...control...I'm sorry...you have to...live with this...power...like I said...it's a lonely...world. Please...for...give...me..."

"No mother you aren't supposed to die yet. I still need you with me. This wasn't supposed to happen." Said Demona tears running down her face

"I didn't...want you to...have my power...so you could...live...a life with...a mate and pups...my mate left because...of my...power. I love you...so much...but I don't...want you to...live like I did...even if you are now...a guardian...find yourself someone...to love...and never let him...go. You can...do...better than me...Demona...I have seen it...when you find him...never let him...g...go." And with that Deama the Lord of the Flame died

But Demona didn't even have time to cry out because right then Nordic, Frea and the others came into the now blackened cave. They looked around and in a single moment they knew what must have happened. Nordic looked at Demona and said "You couldn't have waited for her to go in a few day's could you. No you had to kill her and take her power. I would have never thought this of you Demona."

"But Nordic I didn't kill her it was a mistake I didn't know I had taken her power." Said Demona starting to cry

"No matter, your now a murderer and by our law's you are to face prosecution in front of the war god and await judgment." Said Nordic

"No wait I can't do that. I'm a guardian now not a killer I didn't mean to do it."

"Didn't you say right before you ran off that you hated your mother because she wouldn't let you take her power?" said The Elder Brian

"Yes but I was only mad at her I wouldn't kill her over it. Frea don't you believe me."

"Nordic, Elder's she maybe telling the truth. I've known her since she was born and she may be hot tempered but she's not a killer." Said Frea

"Frea you of all wolves should be the most upset. You loved Deama just like I did." Said Nordic

"It's true but I also care for Demona and think of her like my own pup. You should give her a chance to explain what she did." Said Frea

"Never. She killed the lord of flame and she'll most likely die for her crimes." Said Nordic

"Well then I can't let that happen now can I Nordic ." then he turned to Demona and said "I'll give you a chance to get out of here now run." Then his eyes turned silver and a thick fog like mist filled the air

"Frea what are you doing." Yelled one of the elders

Frea only laughed and said "Demona run." Then "I'm doing what my heart tells me I should, I'm sorry Elders."

Even though she was told to run she only walked back a few steps and watched what was happening. She could hear Brian say "Frea if you keep this up you'll be killed for treason."

"Then kill me if you must but I won't let you lay a paw on that pup." Said Frea

"Fine then, Nordic take care of him so that way we can get Demona back." Said Brian
