Chapter 5

"I'm not sure about the others, some are opposed to the idea of a digimon and human being together" he continued to say, but before he could say anymore, I said to him, in a demanding vicious voice.

"Who is it!!?".

"I don't understand" he said confused by the question.

There wasn't much more to say, so I lifted my arm upright, so the tips of my fingers pointed to the roof and I willed the flames into existence.

We went back in to the living room and I brought out the devices I was given, "The three of you should try them out and see what you can do with them" I said to Rena, Lillymon and Taomon.

"But what about Sakuyamon" Ameila asked to which there was a simple answer.

The others agreed with me and while three of them went in to the bathroom, the rest of us waited in the living room, for them to be finished.

It was about one hour later when they finally came out and to say the least, the results were fantastic.

"Of course, I know at least something about everyone, but you haven't said all that much about yourself, but if you don't feel like talking about it, that is fine too."

"Oh, Richard what about this" Rena asked me holding up a piece of red tinsel, for the tree we were getting.

She pointed behind me and when I turned around I saw that little girl that I helped for the second time, once during Halloween and once, just a few moments before.

She just stood there for a moment and without warning, ran up to me and gave me a big hug. I was slightly stunned for a moment and when she broke away, she said. "Thanks for helping...again", I stood there for a moment and with a smile said.

"I only do what is right" I told her, as I turned around to face her, with her arms still wrapped around me.

After a bit of looking around, we went with a rather big tree, it was rather hard to pack into the car, but was managed somehow.

By the time we were finished shopping we hit a little snag, there wasn't enough room for all of us to fit inside. Fortunately Sakuyamon was able to shrink Taomon and herself down in size for a short time without others seeing.

Finally we were back at the house and as soon as I got out of the car, I stretched my body and said out loud. "Man, that feels so much better."

"I thought you would have enjoyed us all cramped into such tight spaces" Rena said behind me. I turned around and looked at her and said.

"Maybe, but that was to cramped to have any fun in, even if we wanted to".

Taomon and Sakuyamon jumped out of the car into the snow, that for their size, was up to their waist, seeing that, I couldn't help but laugh, I don't think they thought it was very funny but Sakuyamon reversed the spell, ending any chuckles I had left.

It was getting late by the time we got back, so I told them we would spend the day tomorrow decorating, I had to wave off a few arguments, since some wanted to do it now, but I myself was tired and it was too late to leave it only partly done so we all went to bed.

Recently I gotten used to sleeping in the nude even if I wasn't having sex, I hung up my kimono on the closet door and sat down on the bed looking at it for a moment.

"Thinking about something love" Rena said behind me, as she put her arms over my shoulders.

"Yes I was, you know even when I was young, I had a fascination with eastern culture" I said to her and even though I couldn't see her face I knew she was smiling when she said.

"It must have meant that we were meant for each other, because my people have an old tale of teaching strange beings about our culture and how to build and write."

I turned around and gave her a deep loving kiss, and as we broke away we stared into each others eyes for a moment before I said. "So, how do you feel about becoming a mother", she thought for a moment and said.

"I couldn't be happier, and you should know, that pregnancy among my kind, normally yields at least two babies, it could even be six".

I was a little shocked but not all that worried, it didn't change things, Rena was happy and so was I, and for the both of us and the rest of those in the house for now, that was all that mattered.

The next day was both fun and a hassle, deciding where to put some of the decorations was spirited fun, no arguments got too far, but seeing them try to put some decorations in the same places, caused a few laughs among the whole group.

It was the end of the day, when we finally finished the house and the tree was up, the only things missing, was the star on the top and as the head of the house I got the honor of doing it.

We stood back and looked at our hard work. 'Looks like Santa's freaking work shop' I thought to myself, it was at this point that both me and Ameila said. "I think we over did it." No one could help but let out some laughs, while we just looked at each other, then a moment later we joined in their laughter.

About a week before Christmas came around I got a phone call from my mom, saying that both her and my dad wanted to talk. "Are you prepared to talk in a civilized manner" I asked and she responded.

"Yes we are," with that, I gave them the directions to the house we were staying at.

I gathered everyone together, to tell them what was going to happen. "I think it would be best if my parents didn't see the rest of you for now, they were iffy about Rena before, I don't want to see what happens, when they see four more women under this house."

"You seem almost ashamed of us" Lillymon said and I was quick to reply.

"Not really, but do you want to explain to my parents, what's been going on around here", the immediate silence was all the answer I needed and just like we decided they headed up stairs to wait until they were called for, but I knew for a fact that they would be listening in on the conversations soon to come.

A little while later there was a knock on the front door and standing there was both my parents, looking rather depressed or maybe ashamed of something, whatever it was I didn't ask, I just let them in and escorted them into the living room, where Rena was sitting waiting patiently.

I sat down next to Rena, and my parents sat on the couch opposite of us, the first words out of their mouths were. "We are sorry" of course I was quick to respond to that.

"You're sorry, whatever for, just because you insulted my choices, the woman I love, and other things that are important to me". They couldn't look me in the eyes right away, after I said that, it was obvious they were ashamed of the things they said and did before.

They explained how they were sorry for what they did and were ashamed of their actions. "Well, right now it's not me you need to ask, it's Renamon you need to ask for forgiveness" I told them.

Rena had stood up and moved closer to them and my parents did the same, they bowed their heads and said. "We are truly sorry please forgive us". For a moment Rena didn't say anything, then she said with a smile.

"Of course I will" and gave them both a large hug.

I explained to my parents mostly what was going on, of course I left out a few things, but one thing I did have to tell them, was that Rena was pregnant and that I was the father. They were at a loss for words, but seemed to be a little happy for me and Rena.

"Now I think it is time, you met the others in the house" I said and then called the rest to join us.

Ameila and Lillymon greeted my parents normally with hello's and handshakes, but Taomon and Sakuyamon, both went down on one knee and bowed gracefully.

Naturally my parents questioned this sort of thing, but I reminded them of the things I just told them and that ended the odd looks in their faces.

"So you really are becoming a father?" My dad said, the idea to them was strange at best but they didn't seem upset by the idea.

"Yes and because of what is happening in the world we will most likely be heading towards Renamon's home in Shadow vale" I told them.

"Truth be told, I'm rather surprised you're taking this all very well" I told them.

"Well, we thought about it for some time, and we realized that it was entirely your choice and that you looked so much in love. We talked to a pastor about his thoughts on the situation and he was surprisingly supportive he looked at us a told us this. 'When digimon first arrived in our world, many people asked me, was it the end of the world, are they demons from hell, and other such questions, truth be told I didn't know what to tell them, all I could say was they seem to only have defended us so far, but just as there are good ones there will likely be bad ones as well' " my parents said.

They took a quick breath and continued to tell their story. "He then took us to the middle of the chapel, he pointed up wards and there was an Angemon sitting cross legged. He called him down and told him what we asked and the Angemon simply said. 'Since coming to this world, many have asked if I was truly a angel, I told them that I was but I was also in a sense human, whether or not, I was made in the image of such noble and pure things, me and my kind continue to hold ourselves to such standers. Some even in my world of origin don't like the idea of the human and digimon being so close together but such a thing isn't shunned by my kind, if they truly love one another, no matter what anyone else thinks, then they will have the blessings of the heavens".

"We weren't sure what he meant about everything, but we thought about it and they were right" they finished saying.

Over the next little while we talked and such, we even decided to spend Christmas together at my parent's house, it was a happy time for us all.

By the time my parents were leaving, I couldn't help but hug them both and say. "Thank you".

I felt on top of the world, life was finally looking a little normal for us, but something was bugging me, there were still my powers to deal with and I still had to deal with two more apparitions of my powers.

The digi-destand were something else to worry about, it was bad enough to know that one was actively hunting us, but not knowing where the others stood on the current situation could become disastrous for us.

Shaking the thoughts out of my head, I knew I had to make proper preparations, in case of the worst. "Taomon I'm gonna need you to send a special message to Shadow Vale" I told her as I dragged her off side.

"Of course my lord, what is it" she said bowing her head.

After giving her the instructions, Rena walked over and said. "What was that all about love?" I turned to her and said.

"Some needed extra precautions, I sent Taomon on an errand into the digital world," Rena said she trusted in my judgment and left it at that.

I went into the room with the transporter, because in it was a computer as well, that also operated partly by voice command. "Research Metalgarurumon, most recent video files".

I never left the room for the next few hours, until the machines behind me started to stir, and when they settled, there stood Taomon with large sphere she clutched in her hand. "This will send out a signal or sorts to the digital world, which will respond quickly to closest open portal, when it was activated" she told me as she handed it to me.

This was good, it would make things better if things got a bit hairy for us and with my abilities we should at least be able to get her to safety "And was there anything else?" I asked her, considering how Rena's mother acts I wouldn't doubt she had something to say.

"Well there was something else" she said as she brought out from under her robe four scrolls "These are messages from my lady's family for your eyes only" and as she handed them to me, I noticed that each of the seals were traditional wax and the image was that of two Sakuyamon with their staff's crossed. But there was something else wrong, why was there four.

"Taomon why is there four I thought Rena only had a brother?" I asked her and before she left, she turned her head for a moment and said.

"Actually, she has a little sister, but she has been stricken with the same illness that Sakuyamon once had" and she left and closed the door.

'She has a sister!?' I thought to myself, I guessed Rena had a good reason not to mention her but still, I was surprised that she had a sister.

I had done all the research I could do for the time being on Metalgarurumon so I headed down stairs to the living room.

Everyone was busy with doing their own things for the time being, so I put the scrolls on the coffee table and lay down on a couch to take a nap.

I woke up with a heavy feeling on my chest and when I opened my eyes, it was Ameila sitting on my chest, looking down on me. She didn't say anything for a moment, then said with a smile. "Time to get up, it is almost dinner time".

She hopped off me and went into the kitchen, where I could hear and smell the food being prepared.

As I walked into the kitchen, I couldn't help but be amazed, at the speed they were all moving, like a machine they didn't miss a step "I'll give you a extra hand" I said but Lillymon immediately responded "We are almost done there is no need".

I couldn't help but feel like I was doing so little around here. "You know it would make me feel a little better if you let me help fix dinner once in a while" I said.

"But love, you haven't cooked all that much before.....and you also have enough to worry about" she said, the last part was little more than a whisper but I heard it, or maybe felt it either way I couldn't argue for the time being, I was just too tired.

They did let me help set up the table a little afterwards, I was gonna help clean up afterwards but before I even could think it, Taomon and Sakuyamon were already doing that. I guess it didn't really matter all that much at the moment I had much more on my mind. I still had to read those messages, that Taomon brought with her, so I grabbed some tea and the scrolls and headed into my little den with the fireplace.

I sat down and set the tea on the little table beside the chair and opened the first one, and it was from Rena's father. "Greeting's to you my new found son. While many of our kind might resent you or is opposed to you being with my daughter, I however am not so opposed to your union. You have more than proved yourself in both character and skill, I do not know where you have gotten such incredible power but you use it for the right reasons and do not think too harshly of my wife, she is very traditional and shows concern for her child just as I do, give it time she will come around eventually."

The letter went on for a little bit about small things like how he was gonna show me there land and all there was to do there, while I didn't appreciate his friendliness he seems to rattle on a little bit, so when I finally finished the letter I rested for a few moments and drank my tea.

The next letter was from Rena's brother. "Hello human, I do hope that you are taking proper care of my sister. I will not lie when I say that I still doubt that you will be able to protect her, but you are willing to do whatever it takes to protect her and that means something. Your children will be the first of their kind but they will also be of our kind, do not forget that when they grow."

His letter was rather short and to the point but I got the gist of it. 'Keep her and the children she is baring safe', I got what he said and took it to heart.

I grabbed the third letter and it was from Rena's little sister, who I just found out existed, I couldn't help but feel slightly nervous about reading it, I mean I never meet her I have no idea what she has been told about me or anything all I could hope was that she was open minded.

"Greetings to you, mate of my sister, although I have not meet you, I have heard much about you from my family and rumors, that have been going around my home as of late. I heard that you are not of our kind, but I have heard many whispers of what you are, and none of them are consistent. Whatever you are, I trust in my sister's judgment in her choice of a mate and if you are human, as some say, her partner. Just please keep her safe, she was so good to me before she left on her journey I just want to be able to see her again".

I couldn't help but shed a tear or two by the time I finished reading the letter sent by Rena's sister, she really did care for her sister but I found it odd that Rena never mentioned her before 'I think I'll ask her about that' I told myself, but I still had one last letter to read so I tore it open, took a deep breath and read the letter from Rena's mother.

"Human, considering what recent news I have been brought lastly, I know that right now you made the correct decision in being discreet about your location, I am however still unconvinced in the so called powers that I have been told about, no matter how strong you think you might be, you are still just a human and can never stand up to...." it was at that point that I tossed the letter to the side, refusing to read more about how I am not able to protect those dearest to me.

The day was late and I couldn't help but drift off to sleep, as the fire warmed my body and the snow gently fell outside, giving me a serene picture.

I woke up with a blanket around me, the fire was dead, and oddly enough the letter that I threw to the side, was on the table next to me, unrolled to the last few sentences. I didn't notice anyone come in so I must have been really tired last night.

I couldn't' help but read the last bit of the letter that was there before "....my daughter is very special to me, while I might not approve of you, I will however trust in my daughter's decision of choosing her mate. The children she bares, will also be of my blood so I will protect them, no matter the cost."

I was rather surprised of her closing words, the words that I never would have read if someone hadn't took it and looked themselves and the only person that would have done so was Rena.

The days slowly crept by and before we knew it, it was Christmas Eve morning.

"Richard wake up" I heard a voice say and even before I opened my eyes, I knew it was Rena, her fur shined wonderfully in the morning sunlight. She leaned over to give me a kiss then slowly got up and stretched. It was at this point, that I noticed that her belly was getting a bit bigger, I knew that she was having children but from the looks of things it was like she was along farther then she should have been.

"Rena, does your kind have children faster than 9 months?" I asked which was about the amount of time it took a human to bring a child into the world.

"Actually yes, it takes about 4 months for the eggs to be laid and then another month or so to hatch" she told me. I knew that digimon were born from eggs but hearing it was still somewhat weird to hear especially since they were mine.

The others were already downstairs, getting ready to head over to my parents house. The presents where being stored into the car, along with the food, we were going to be making two trips, one for all the presents and food along with Rena and the second trip for everyone else.

When we got to my parents house they were already up and about, and ready for us. I dropped off Rena, along with the presents and food then headed back to the house.

The others were already ready to go and soon once again we were off.

"Honey were home" I said as I opened the door to my parents house, Rena was helping my mom with the preparations with tomorrows dinner and my dad I had to guess was out in the workshop that was in the backyard.

The rest of the group filed in and almost immediately Sakuyamon went into the kitchen and started to help out. 'She really moves fast' I thought to myself, Sakuyamon was always willing to help it seems.

After they finished in the kitchen, we set up our sleeping arrangements, while Rena and I will naturally take my old room, the rest were going to use the pull out sofa bed and the inflatable one.

Me and Rena spent some time to ourselves in my old room that still had my old toy chest that I used more like a desk than anything else.

"What a cute little blanket" Rena said, as she pulled out a little blanket for a baby, that was stitched with a Noah's ark thing on it.

"Yeah, that used to be mine so long ago" I said.

"Do you think I could borrow this?" She asked me, I was a little confused, when I said.

"What for?" She didn't say a word only rubbed her slightly swollen belly and I knew the answer.

Later that night, we went to the evening service at the church. We were all on edge for a little while, but after seeing several digimon, we figured that no one would notice us, and any with strong tracking abilities, wouldn't be able to see through the disguises of Rena and the others.

The service went pretty much as it would normally, but when it was about three-quarters done the air started to feel heavy and I felt some strange dark force coming from somewhere.

I looked around the room and noticed, that not only Rena and the others were feeling apprehensive, but every digimon in the room was as well.

Before anyone could speak, the room suddenly went dark, not like the lights went out but more like shadows enveloped and covered everything.

Everyone rushed out and while I was about to go myself, I saw something in the middle of the room floating in the air. I didn't understand how I could see anything but I saw some shape of what could only be described as a demon, and even though I didn't see it clearly I knew what it was.

"Why are you here!?" I yelled, the demons eyes opened reveling their blood red color and the monsters need for destruction and blood.

"I want to be released from your miserable body, I was once dread on all life and nothing could escape my wrath and power." The demon said.

This thing was one of the manifestations of my power, but it spoke differently like it was once something else entirely. "I don't understand, you're a part of me and a manifestation of my power" I said and with a laugh it flew so close to me that it's face was only one foot from my own and said.

"I was a great power, long before I became a part of yours, little mortal".

It flew up into the air and as it did, it said in a bellowing voice. "I was once Demonmon, the most powerful and first of the demon kind, I ruled all under the dark night and non could challenge my power, I want to be released from this pitiful prison, I'm being kept in I WANT OUT!" And with those last words, it launched towards me but it wouldn't get that far, cause as it reached, wards me with a shadow like claw, I will forth from my arm a stream of the purest white flame.

Suddenly the demon stopped and as the flame snaked around him, it eyed the flame like it was an old enemy and spoke not to me but rather to the flame it was eyeing. "I knew you were there, trapped like me, in that tiny weak body, don't interfere with me or you wi...." it didn't get the last words out, I saw it let its guard down to me, like I wasn't even there and it would regret it.

It took all my concentration to control the flame and as it squeezed the demon and it let out a yelled of pain, I shouted out my own words to it. "Never turn your back to me demon, I will not be made a fool of by you or anyone else, NOW LEAVE THIS PLACE OF GOD AND DON'T YOU DARE SHOW YOURSELF AGAIN".

As the demon disappeared and the light rushed back into the room, the demon said one last thing to me. "You will one day use my power and when you do, I will be free and all before me will be razed in flame and death".

As I looked around the room I saw only me, Taomon who was at the door in a battle stance still in her cloaked form and Angemon who had, by the looks of it, casted a spell that covered the room in a shimmering light, most likely meant to contain the threat he saw, but to be honest I doubt it would have done any good.

"My lord, are you alright?" Taomon had rushed up in a worry, her face shown much concern, more so then ever before. She must have heard my conversation with the demon, cause the look on her face also showed fear, which I had never seen on her face before.

"It will be alright Taomon, just don't mention any of this to anyone right now I don't want anyone to worry" I told her with a calm face, but before I could turn around, she clasped me by the shoulders and brought her head down to my height and started to cry.

"Why, why do you have to be so strong and put on such an act, you're in terrible danger, you are containing something that is more dangerous and dark, then anything I have ever felt before, why can't you tell someone I...we care about you, we don't want you hurt" it looked like she wanted to say more but she couldn't get any more words out.

I put my arms around her and embraced her, I let her cry on my shoulder for a few moments and afterwards I gave her a gentle kiss, and when I broke away I told her. "I do it so others won't have to suffer, it's in my nature and I can't change who I am." She gave out a few last tears that I wiped away and she started to stand up straight and put on her normal straight, calm and confident face.

Both Angemon and I walked towards each other and when we were face to face, I simply said to him. "Please don't mention anything you have seen here, there are people who are hunting us and would hurt innocent people to get us." The Angemon simply smiled and said.

"You have no worries, I will not tell anyone what has really transpired here," and as the door into the church started to open, I mentioned one last thing to the angel digimon.

"Would you mind taking credit for banishing the digimon, that tried to interrupt the sermen," the only reply he gave, was a quick nod of the head and went to his partner who was rushing in to see what happened.

Then everyone else also rushed in, asking what happened, we told them that a digimon snuck in and used illusions to cause the darkness but Angemon defeated it easily.

The pastor decided that everyone should go home for the night and no one argued the point and left.

Even thought the drive back to my parents house was short, I could still see Taomon looking at me with some concern in her eyes. I could only hope that Rena wouldn't sense the disturbing presence in my body.

Despite what happened, we were for the most part, still in high spirits, we got home and watched. 'Santa Claus is coming to town' the one where all the characters are puppets, and even had time for. 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. By the time the movies were over we all went to bed, and me and Rena headed for my old room to sleep, the bed was small but we had no problems huddling close together.

The next morning, we got up later than most people would on Christmas morning, because we were tired and didn't really feel like getting up but we were eventually pulled out of the bed.

The snow was falling heavily and after we had breakfast and opened the presents I went to the window near the front door and watched the snow fall from the sky.

In the midst of the snow I saw something odd. It was pure white and impossible to see, I wasn't even sure how I knew it was there, but as it stretched out its wings I could only make out what it was.

A dragon of massive size, it was the god-like being that was trapped inside my body, along with the demon. It opened its mouth to let out a roar but no sound came out of it and just vanished, like it wasn't even there, even if you could see it before, you couldn't even tell where it was.

"See anything interesting love?" Rena asked as she walked up beside me, she was wearing the new gloves I got her, that were of a deeper purple then the normal ones she had, and her face glowed from the fact that she was happy, and she was going to be giving birth to children just like she always wanted.

I wrapped an arm around Rena, smiled and said. "Nothing at all my love, nothing at all."
