Just a note about this new series, each chapter is deciated to a different friend. It is my way to thank all of the good furs I met on YiffChat. Please enjoy while each friend is introduced close to about the same way that I met them on YC. As usual, Eurasia is copyrighted only to me. My friends are copyrighted to themselves so don't go using them unless you ask them. If you need to contact me, AIM me for anything you may need at Eurasia21xx. Now enjoy this story, as it is written from my heart. :)
As Eurasia walked, he tripped over a rock and fell flat on his face as the impact echoed through the forest. He quickly got up and tossed to rock aside, "Damn rock...always getting in my way...", he mumbled. The confidence he had lost was now restored thanks to Ms. DragonHeart, who had helped on get back on his feet. He continued through the forest, but this time he had a map which showed the right way on where to go. North was the way to go, as it lead to a large, hidden valley which is said to be extreme beautiful and unseen by humans for almost thousands of years. The excitement of seeing the world was almost painful, as Eurasia was making good time, being careful of any unwanted visitors like the last time.
His feet grew tired after walking about two hours, so he decided to take a quick rest and to think about what to do next. His motto was to, "Think ahead, or you'll lose the only one you have on you!", and it has served him well over the years. He was given a lot of valuable information by Heart, so he had to make sure that he took it seriously so he wouldn't meet his end.
It seemed like it was moments ago that he was just with her, as he replayed what had happened before he left...
_
He had just woken up, feeling like he was at the peak of health. While looking around, he noticed that Heart wasn't in bed, "Huh? Where could she have gone?", he wondered, since he was living under her care. He jumped out of bed and looked at his backpack to see that everything was intact, even the scale which he was treasured.
The smell of breakfast filled the air, as his stomach took control and led him out of the room. The aroma carried him to the table on which he ate yesterday.
Giggling was heard not too far from him, followed by footsteps, "Tee-hee! Good morning to you! Did my cooking wake you up?"
Eurasia looked around to see Heart with a plate of food, from eggs to ham with bread on the side. The food alone got him so happy, but he also wondered about her, since he didn't see her eat anything last night. He looked at her while she took a seat, holding what seemed to be a few flowers, "Umm...Ms. DragonHeart? Why aren't you eating?", he asked, feeling a bit unusual about asking, hoping he didn't offend her.
She ate one of the flowers in her hand with ease. Her attention then turned to him with a smile after she swallowed the flower, "What do you mean silly? I having my favorite meal of hibicus flowers.", she responded, chuckling at him.
He listened to her, while putting the eggs into the bread to make an egg sandwich. He nodded while taking a bite into it, enjoying the flavor of the meal. Within minutes, he finished everything up, feeling satified.
The plates were taken away for cleaning by Heart while Eurasia awaited for her return. Thoughts wondered in his mind, from what action to take from here on, and on how to act if he met more creatures...no anthros on his journey. As Heart came back, she decided to help this human on his way, since he seemed to be one of his words.
She walked back and grabbed Eurasia's hand, "Come along with me, it is almost time for you to make your departure while there is light!", she quickly said, tugging him back to the room where they slept. Being caught off guard, he almost fell over, but managed to keep up with her.
As they zoomed into the room, she go of him while she continued over to a pile of stacked papers. When he was free from her hold, he stood in his place to await to see what she was looking for. Within a few moments, she walked back to him, holding a very old piece of paper, "Ok, this is for you to take on your journey. May this map show you the right way, and stay safe...", she cautioned while handing the map to him.
_
He gave out a quick yawn as he had his back to tree to rest. Going out in the morning gave him more time during daylight to travel, but he still had to hurry. The map given to him by Heart was marked with the right way to go, along with names of the places and the danger level.
"Hmm...I should take another look at that map to make sure that everything is going as planned.", he thought, wasting no time to get the map out from his backpack and staring at it closely.
The map showed various areas, each colored differently. The forest he was currently in was named, "Forest of Lost Hope", which seemed to anger him just a bit. According to the path drawn by Heart, he should be heading east to a large, open area. This area was color yellow, which meant that caution should be taken since many creatures reside in that area. That part of the world was called, "Challenge Plains", which meant according to Heart, is where many go to challenge others in combat and other feats.
Challenges was something Eurasia enjoyed, but mental challenges, not physical. He chose to lay low when he arrives, since if he gets challenged in something physical, he will lose. Losing usually means not winning, but it might mean losing much more in this world. The map was put away and he started to continue on his way through the forest, still keeping watch for an ambush.
_
Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, a pack of anthro wolfs were returning back to their home. This was the same pack that tried to have Eurasia as a meal, and their wounds were still fresh. Moan, groans and whimpering was everywhere as they tried to rest from their injuries.
In the trees above them, a figure in the shadows kept close eye on them. The leader of the pack was making a count to see if everyone had made it, "Ok...9, 10. Everyone here, but still hungry. Bitch dragoness stole food, make her pay!", he said, this leader unable to speak in complete sentences. The pack howled, but faintly since the pain held them back.
"Fools, you can't defeat a dragon, no matter what you do.", said the figure from the trees. The pack looked up quickly, to see if it was friend or foe. The branch shaked violently as the figure jumped down into view by the pack.
The leader growled, not liking who he was seeing, "Grrr...why you back? You talk bad bout pack. We tell you leave for good!", he yelled. The figure turned out to be another anthro wolf, but this one was bigger and much more built than the others, "Aww...is that the way to turn down and old friend Jorel?", he commented sarcastically.
The pack tried to intimidate him, but they were too weak to do anything. Jorel just decided that resting is more important than him. He took a seat and glared at him, "Well...laugh loudly. We lost food to dragon yesterday! It was yummy food if we ate it..."
This wolf seemed interested in what Jorel was talking about, "Hmm...why would a dragon do that? They mostly keep to themselves and have no reason to steal from others. What were you hunting?", he asked, sounding ever so curious about the prey they lost.
The leader sighed, not really wanting to tell him, "Well...food was rare delicacy. Human! Wonder why dragon stop us. Humans yummy, hear from others.", he said, drooling as he thought about chewing through a human.
The wolf seemed to be intrigued on what the leader said, "A human huh?...never seen one up close. I wonder if they are worth hunting. It is rare for a human to leave their puny settlements. This human must be very brave, or very foolish.", he said, boasting with confidence.
Jorel started to tend to his pack, while the wolf grinned from cheek to cheek. Within moments, he ran off into the distance, eager to find his next prey, "Heh...human. I hope you can satisfy my desire for a good challenge. If you don't, you'll satisfy my other need...hunger.", he said to himself, already picking up Eurasia's trail where he spilled blood out side of Heart's lair.
_
Another hour passed, as Eurasia was closing in on Challenge Plains. He noticed that the forest was getting less denser, and much more brighter as he continued. That was a sign that he was going to right way, but also that he was heading into dangerous territory. He sprinted to the opening in the distance, where it seemed to be at its brightest.
As he barely made it to the exit, he spotted a wooden sign that made him stop. He took a moment to analyze it and was surprised to see that the writing was readable. It read, "Challenge Plains, the area of testing your skills against others.", but it was a bit faded. He jumped for joy as he neared his destination.
Eurasia walked out of the forest to see the most beautiful site he had ever laid eyes on. It was a huge, grassy plain, filled with flowers of every color and the greenest grass ever. The site was so over overwhelming, he just ran into it and jumped onto the grass and rested on his back.
"Man...this place is amazing. I have never seen such an incredible place.", he thought, feeling like he was in nirvana. As he was about to melt away, he suddenly got up and remembered something important, "Oh yea! No time for relaxation. I must write down in my journal my progress so far, but still keeping a look out for anything that can threaten my life.", he proclaimed, quickly getting out his journal from his backpack and opened to a blank page. He titled this new journey, "The Wonders of the New World", which was a bit corny, but did the trick.
"Day One - After working for three days straight, I found it! The hidden ability behind my dragon scale, one that would lead me to dragon for real and prove that I was right. But unfortunately, due to a mishap with Samuel, I was exiled from the Village of Pucchi. That made about 14 villages I have been exiled, but it didn't matter much. Getting my things ready was simple as is made sure everything was ready for my departure in the morning."
"Day Two - Before leaving, I got rid of my mark on that stupid village by getting rid of my shack. Took no effort to do, but it was better that way. I quickly went on to the forest that they say would be the end of any man. Nothing mattered now but putting my theories to work. As expected, putting the scale in a pool of water makes it point to the dragon of which it came off from. It continuously pointed north and I walked for hours. Nightfall came quickly but hunger settled in quicker than I thought. I was only then when I remembered that I forgot to eat for three days while trying to reach my breakthrough. It was tough to sleep but I did my best and drifted away on the cold ground."
"Day Three (Day) - When I woke up, my body was completely sore. It was due to the lack of food, so my body has nothing to replenish the energy lost. I tried to ignore it as I continued, but the pain was getting to me. As I tried to focus, I was ambushed suddenly! At first I couldn't tell what it was, but it chased me for a bit until I outwitted it into a tree. Upon closer analysis, it turned out that my attacker was actually an anthro wolf! Something that father once told me, about how there are animals that have characteristics similar to humans. I wanted to study it, but like its normal relative, there were more. A whole pack of them chased me until I reached a dead end. A mountain blocked my way, as they closed in. With swift speed and accuracy, I was slashed on my chest and bleeding quite badly. The corner of my eye caught something shining behind me. It turned out to be a cave, so I threw my water canteen and tried to make a break for it. But the wound took its toll on me and I blacked out as I entered the cave."
"Day Three (night) - As I regained consciousness, I found myself wrapped on a beautiful bed. I quickly got up and looked around the area. Turns out that I was in a room in a cave, but this cave was filled with gold and jewels. I awed at the glittering yellow light, but remembering that it must belong to someone. Money never gave me much interest, so I jumped down from my bed explore the area. Without realizing, my chest was bandaged up and the pain was gone. I had to find out who had helped me so I can thank them, but no one was around to thank. Suddenly, I heard a faint voice from deeper within this cave. My instincts told me to follow this sound, so I started to make my way deeper. As I got closer, the voice became audiable and found out that it was a female talking. I was getting a bit nervous to find out who is this but my curiosity pushed me forward. As I arrived in the room, my eyes came to the most amazing sight ever. I was eye to eye with a real dragon! Well...dragoness to be exact, but still all the same. She told me to take a seat, but I don't know what happened next. The room started to spin, then darkness overcame everything. I started to hear a voice, along with a light in the darkness. I followed it and eventually made it back to the light. I felt a kiss that seemed to just bring me back. Turns out this dragoness was worried about me after telling me I fainted. I was still nervous, but I tried my best to stay calm as she gave me a great meal. During the meal, she interrogated me to see if I am a danger. I was lucky that I didn't, since it meant being stuck in her cave for the rest of my life. I couldn't bear not being able to continue, but she is beautiful. Luckily, I proved that I was trustworthy and was allowed to continue. After dinner, she lead me back into the room where my backpack was. I ran over but for some reason I felt tired almost instantly when I got close to it. Then poof, I fell asleep."
He closed his journal, feeling good that he was able to write down the event that have transpired so far. As the sun over head started to shine brighter, Eurasia noticed that he lost track of the time and quickly got up. It was already about noon, so he decided to continue quickly before something happened. He had barely covered any ground, so he started to fast-walk over to the next area, while still on the look out for any other mystical creatures.
From the distance, the wolf followed Eurasia's scent all the way to Challenge Plains and spotted him, "Hmm...thats the human? Seems scrawny...could this be a waste of time? Ehh...I'll test him anyway. If he is, basically a free lunch. If not, I might actually have fun this time!", he thought, sneaking over to him.
As Eurasia continued, he started to think on how he would study any creature if they are too dangerous. The low cut grass made travel easy and made the plains look even more breathtaking. The wolf took a chance and lunged for Eurasia, pushing him down hard as he jumped off of him.
Eurasia screamed as he went flying down to the ground with a thud. He quickly looked up to see a large anthro wolf standing a few feet in front of him, "Huh? Another one?! Crap...I was hoping that I wouldn't encounter another one so soon...after what happened before...", he said, feeling very nervous in front of him.
The Wolf smiled back at him, "Whats wrong, not happy to see me? Deal with it!", he remarked. Eurasia got up and stood his ground against this wolf. He analyzed him closely as he was taller than him by just a few inches but had a build much bigger than his own. This wolf wore a vest, brown and made leather while sporting blue jeans that were slightly ragged. He looked and sounded tough, which was bad news for Eurasia.
"W-what do you want from me?", he whimpered, trying to stay calm at the situation at hand. The wolf started to walk around him, analyzing Eurasia as well, "Hmmm...you really do not look all that impressive. Even for a meal, you look too scrawny.", he said.
Eurasia shuddered to think that already, his life was in peril. He picked up his journal that was dropped by the wolf and placed it back into his backpack. While placing it back, he noticed something was inside of that it that wasn't his, "Huh?...what is this?", he wondered, picking it up from the backpack.
The wolf was getting restless, as he reached into his back pocket, "Ok, I'm getting bored over here and a bit hungry. I'll give you a 10 second head start, starting now.", he proclaimed.
As Eurasia heard that, he quickly took it out and placed his backpack on his back. As soon as he did that, he had already counted to two. Eurasia started to run towards the other side, as he faintly heard "five" come from the wolf. The object was wrapped in cloth, similar to his scale. While running, he unwrapped it and found out that it was a rusted dagger, about seven inches long with a note.
"Eurasia, your journey will be a dangerous one. Use this dagger to protect yourself if you ever get into danger." That is what the note said, signed by Ms. Dragonheart. "Ten! Ready or not human, here I come!", he yelled, making his run towards Eurasia.
The dagger was very dull and the rust made it look very weak as well, "What?! How is this going to help me against something like that wolf?!", he wondered, looking back to see him catching up easily. The wolf caught up in no time and jumped in front of him, making Eurasia stop.
"Man...this is pathetic. I was expecting a better challenge from you, but...I guess not.", he said, sounding disappointed on how everything turned out. The wolf took out a knife from his back pocket and pointed it at him, "Oh well, I guess lunch is ok too. Now stand still while I carve a hole into your chest. The heart is always the best tasting part.", licking lips while coming closer.
Eurasia stepped back quickly, as he knew how that knife could cut him easily. He pointed out his rusted dagger at him, "S-...stay back! Don't make me use this!", he bluffed, knowing that theres no way he can cut him with a dagger so dull. The wolf laughed at his bluff, "Haha! Is that the best you can do? I'll make this a clean kill!", he said, lunging forward with his knife heading straight for his chest.
Eurasia screamed in fear, as he held out the dagger towards him. Suddenly, the dagger started to glow with a red light, surprising the wolf as he stopped in his tracks. A transformation occurred, as the dagger started to grow long, and wider.
As the light dimmed, the rusty dagger took on the shape of a large sword, about 4 feet in length with a red handle. There were inscription on the sword, but they weren't in a language that Eurasia understands. They both awed the sword as it came from out of that old dagger that seemed worthless.
"Whoa...is that what she meant by using it to protect myself from danger?", Eurasia thought, swinging it around as it felt very lightweight for its size. The wolf was skeptical about what happened, "Huh? I thought humans cannot wield magic...Oh well. A sword won't help you here!", he yelled, making another lunge.
Eurasia felt more confident as he held the sword proudly in his hands, analyzing the angle and the speed that he was traveling at, "Hmm...at that speed...I must angle myself 49 degrees.", he thought, swinging forward at him.
The impact of the hit made the wolf fly back, as his knife shattered into pieces. At that same time, Eurasia flew back as well, not being able to stand firm enough from the force generated from the wolf's hit. Eurasia quickly recollected himself, as got back up to see the wolf glaring at him.
"You...you broke my knife!", he growled, his eyes started to change to a blood red. Eurasia started to worry as he held out his sword again, "Uhh...stay back! I don't want to hurt you...", he whimpered, afraid as to what is to happen next. The wolf lunged again, at an even faster speed.
It was so quick that Eurasia had no time to swing, so he went on the defensive and blocked his strike. Unfortunately, the blow was so powerful, and it knocked the wind out of Eurasia and knocked him down to the ground. The wolf's claws were aimed at his neck as he breathed down from above him. His sword was too far away from him as he was pinned.
He lifted his claw and prepared to strike, as Eurasia closed his eyes to await the end. Suddenly, he started to hear laughter as he felt the wolf's weight on him lift. He opened his eyes to see the wolf laughing at him, "Haha! I got you so scared, you almost pissed yourself!", he said, laughing his head off.
Eurasia was confused to why he was laughing, "What? What is up with you? First you try to kill me, now you are laughing at me?", sounding a bit annoyed and very confused. The wolf walked up to him and placed his paw on his shoulder, "Well, you gave me a good challenge. I needed a good challenge but you can be better."
The mood suddenly changed, from fear to confusion. The wolf stepped back from him and eyed him, "Well human, my name is Rally, RallyWolf. What is yours?", he asked.
Eurasia walked to his sword and grabbed it, "Well, my name is Eurasia...but I'm still a bit confused."
Rally laughed again, beginning to walk off, "I'll be seeing you around Eurasia. I won't hold back next time, so get better!", he yelled as he ran off to the Forest of Lost Hope.
Everything did not make sense, even to Eurasia's intelligence, he had no idea how to piece this together. Suddenly, he looked at the sky to see a green streak fly by in the air. It went by so fast, that he couldn't get a clear view of what it was but it was big. He decided to think about it later, as he pulled out his map and looked to where he was going next.
