Chapter 7: I'm Gonna Miss You
Loryn had never been so happy! He had Kira back, he had his daughter back -- he had his family back! Now only one thing remained: breaking the news to Eno. Loryn could anticipate Eno's reaction all too well. Even though Eno was only two years younger than Loryn, he was temperamental, childish, and would probably throw a hissy fit when Loryn told him he was leaving him for Kira. Loryn was a nervous wreck just thinking about. He didn't want to hurt Eno for the world, but being back with Kira again for the first time in years, he had come to understand how deeply he loved her and that his life without her was empty. He couldn't go back to living without Kira -- he couldn't. Not for anyone. Not even for Eno.
Loryn had spent the next day avoiding Eno as much as possible. He did not return to the hut he shared with Eno after he and Kira had reconciled. No, he had stayed right there with Kira on the furs beside the fire, kissing Kira in all her most ticklish places, holding her in his arms, licking her juices as she lay squirming on her back, whispering to her of love. And he had never wanted to leave again. The next morning, he and Kira were prodded awake by their daughter, who stood over them grinning and even said to Loryn, "I'm proud of you, Dad!"
Loryn had chuckled. Yes, even he could admit that he had finally grown up, had finally learned to put the desires of his wife and child before his own more lustful pursuits. But how he was going to make Eno understand all these things, Loryn hadn't the faintest clue. So he avoided Eno and spent as much time as he could on patrol duty in the forest, where Eno was not likely to find him. Eno was part of the home patrol and as such, would not enter the forest with Loryn's group.
So it was that Loryn found himself sitting under a tree alone, one elbow resting on his knee, his head bowed in deep thought and his ears flat in his worry. He knew he was breaking rules by being alone: a warrior was always supposed to have a partner. Loryn's partner was Kel, so he wasn't surprised when sometime later, he saw Kel approaching through the trees with a frown.
"Loryn?"
Loryn heard Kel stop, saw the black wolf's feet as he stood over him, but did not look up.
Seeing Loryn sitting so distraught, Kel sensed at once that something was wrong in the romance department. He knelt at Loryn's side and said his name again, and when Loryn only covered his eyes with his paw, Kel kissed him on the cheek. He was relieved to see Loryn smile, even if he still didn't lift his head.
"Damn you and your kisses, Kel. They always force a smile out of me and you know it."
"But what's the matter?"
When Loryn only shook his head miserably, Kel kissed him on the cheek again and whispered, "Tell me."
"It's Eno. I'm leaving him."
Kel nodded and sat with Loryn against the tree. "I thought it was something like that. Only losing a cock could make you look so defeated. Who are you leaving him for? Another male plaything?"
"I'm leaving him for Kira."
"What!" cried Kel, grinning.
Loryn gave a soft laugh to see Kel so delighted. "Yeah. She finally roped me in and I couldn't get away. She rendered me utterly helpless last night."
"But how did it happen?" Kel asked eagerly. Loryn had finally put Kira first? Hell must've frozen over.
"When I took Lea home. We argued. We started struggling, and her shawl fell off --"

"Pretty much," sighed Loryn. "That night being with her, I realized how deeply I cared about her, how deeply I'd hurt her -- how I'd hurt them both. Kel laughed. "So now you're a family male?"

I think that tamed her a bit, knowing that you could have been jealous and tried to keep me to yourself, but you didn't."
"So she doesn't mind if we love each other?"
"No. But she doesn't want me with Eno, and after what she told me about Eno's lust, I don't want me with Eno either," Loryn said darkly. He sighed again. "He's going to be so upset . . ."
"That little shit," snarled Kel, shaking his head. "I still don't understand how you could love him. Every time I think of what he did to Aliona!" Kel's body tensed and Loryn felt himself stirring to see Kel's muscles tighten, to see those green eyes flashing.
"I think I pitied him," Loryn admitted. "He seemed so neglected, as if he was crying out for love. I don't think that fucking sorcerer really loved him at all, the things he's told me. And I felt sorry for him. I wanted to give him that love he was crying out for. And why does Eno love me? Because Eno loves pain and I loved giving it to him."
Kel winced. "What exactly did you do to Eno that night?"
"Oh, Eno was my little whore that night. I raped his mouth, slapped him around, raped his ass --"
"And he liked that?" cried Kel, amazed.

Kel squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block out Loryn's words.

Loryn leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "You're right, Kel. I'm . . . I'm sorry."
When Kel saw Loryn hang his head miserably again, he put his arm around him.
"It's just that," whispered Loryn, "I've never done this before! I've never let myself get close enough to a male that I'd have to think about his feelings before I just up and left him . . . Except you." Loryn looked at Kel and was warmed when Kel kissed him on the lips.
"My darling, you're such a tease," Loryn joked when Kel kissed his lips yet again.
"I'm trying to comfort you. I'm not going to be around to do it for the next few days, and I wanted to make sure you were all right before I left."
Loryn's ears pricked forward. "So Aliona didn't toss you out on your tail, eh? And now she sends you off to get some relief from Zaldon with her full blessing. Sounds like her. See? I told you there was nothing to worry about."
"I guess you were right. I just -- the thought of losing her, it terrifies me."
There was a pause as they each sat lost in their own thoughts, then Kel spoke again.
"You know, you could come with me, Loryn. Zaldon would like seeing you again."
Loryn laughed, thinking of all the times Zaldon had fucked him. "Yeah, I bet he would. No, Kel, I've got to stay here. I've got to catch up on being a husband and a father."
"Of course," Kel said, pressing his forehead near Loryn's, "you're all grown up now!"
Loryn smiled mischievously at Kel. "Not quite."
Kel knew what that mischievous smile meant and felt himself getting hard. Loryn cupped Kel's face, then pulled him into his embrace and kissed him with a fervent hunger that startled Kel. Kel was startled even more when Loryn stopped and held him tightly -- just held him.
"I'm going to miss you, Kel," Loryn whispered against him.
Kel smiled and held Loryn back.
"I needn't warn you about lone wolves -- make sure you come back to me!"
Kel pulled back and was touched by the urgency in Loryn's black eyes. "I'll come back," he whispered, kissing Loryn to calm him. "I will!"
"Good," Loryn answered, "then take this with you."
