Sadly something needs to be done before she gains any sort of ground, Harvey." I pointed out.

"I agree with you there Clark why don't we make an appointment to discuss it." He replied. Not sure what my schedule was for the week so I told him I'd call him later on today. "That's fine with me once you know what's going on just call or leave a message." He added. We said goodbye, hung up the phone then walked downstairs to make breakfast. As I reached the stair case that takes you to the kitchen when I heard my name.

Turning to locate who called me and saw Vala standing down the hallway. The look on her face was less than pleased and I already knew why she was upset. When ever we spend the night together Vala doesn't like to wake up by herself. Unless there's an emergency at work that requires I get there as soon as possible. This time around that's not the case even though Harvey had called to speak with me.

As I walked over to where she was presently standing I told her what happened. Of course it didn't win me any points of forgiveness until I scratched her ears. "Now that your grandmother has begun what do you intend to do about it?" She wondered. What ever we plan it needs to make her think about quitting while she's still ahead. Considering Beatrice doesn't stop unless she gets exactly what she wants from anyone.

This was going to be one fight I'd rather avoid but, she giving me no choice. Unfortunately she isn't aware that I've prepared for this and I'm ready to defend. Once the information I've got on her is shared with the media and the business world. Let's just say she's going to be more than a little busy doing a lot of damage control. If you utilize what you've learned and gathered wisely nobody will try anything. In my grandmother's case she's letting her emotions cloud her better judgment. "Alright, let's just hope that this doesn't come back and bite you in the ass, Clark." She replied. As luck would have it I was thinking that very thing as we walked downstairs. From there we entered the kitchen where Nayane was in the middle of washing dishes. The older wolfess told us she'd cook us something once she was done with that. Not sure if Nayane was going to back up her bark but, Vala began eating. "Color me impressed usually when she makes up her mind nobody can change it." I stated. Of course that didn't win me any brownie points with her but, I'll get over it. Since I've got other things on my mind and I'll make it up to her later on tonight. "We better be off Vala unless you want to stay home to spend time with your mom?" I added.

"Look, Clark I know we should spend some quality time as mother and child. I'll only stay if you're certain that you don't need me assisting at the company." Vala replied. The only way to settle this was to give Mrs. Reni a call and check my schedule. Once again I retrieved the closest phone then crossed checked with my secretary. When she picked up the other end I asked her what my schedule looked like for today.

"Clark, I'd advise you to stay home seeing as the board you fired are here. Along with their over paid legal teams and they're looking to burn you at the stake." She informed. Rolling my eyes in disbelief then I told her to have security throw them all out. If they refuse give the cops a call and tell them they're trespassing on private property. "Security tried and ended up getting threatened with severe legal action." She replied.

Cursing under my breath upon hearing that and told her I'd be there shortly. When she heard the tone in my voice she knew I was going to lower the boom. I had friends on the S.W.A.T team here in the city and they owed me a couple favors. Swinging by the station then explained my situation to the captain and waited. He needed to make sure that there wouldn't be any sort of back lash to his department.

"Well, Mr. Blazein I don't see any issues helping you with this minor problem. Asking my S.W.A.T team to assist is over kill if you ask me but, they're onboard." He stated. Now I understood where he was coming from but, they're clearly trespassing. Thus giving me the legal right to have them escorted off my property by the police. With nothing more to say I shook the captain's hand and headed out to my car.

Where the S.W.A.T team van pulled out onto the road then followed behind me. We arrived at my company twenty minutes and parked in front of the entrance. In ten short minutes my former board members and their lawyers were expunged. As they were loaded into a small bus I couldn't hide the satisfied smile on my face. Thanking each of them for all their help and told them that their debt was settled.

Once all their gear was loaded and secured in the van they said goodbye. I watched the vehicle drive away then walked inside and went up to my office. Where Mrs. Reni was waiting for me to join her so we could plan our next move. She already gave Colleen and Harvey a call they were on route to the company. "Clark, I hope you've got a plan because they're more than ready to do battle." She pointed out.

"Working on it Lorna but, to be honest I hadn't counted what just occurred. Seeing as they don't want to accept my decision then so be it let's play hard ball." I replied. It wasn't long after I sat down behind my desk when Colleen and Harvey arrived. We didn't waste a single minute organizing a plan of attack for everyone. By the time we agreed to take a lunch break it was three o'clock in the afternoon.

Instead of grabbing a bite to eat we decided to call it a day and pick up tomorrow. Thanking for taking the time out of their already busy schedules to help me. Of course they told me not worry about it since that's what they get paid to do. With that we said our goodbyes, they went back to their offices and went on home. To spend the rest of the afternoon and evening with those I love with all my heart.

When I pulled into the driveway there was a strange car parked at the entrance. Fortunately I recognized the license plate and quickly made my way inside. Once in the entry way I over heard what sounded like pleasant conversation going on. Not sure what was really transpiring in the parlor but, the voice wasn't familiar. As I entered the room then looked around expecting to see Cheryl sitting nearby.

"Let me guess you noticed Cheryl's car out front and yet I'm here instead. I'm her brother Bradley I just got back from overseas and she asked me to visit. Figuring you could use my help keeping some angry former board members away." He said. Walking over I shook his hand then sat down next to Vala and had him continue. According to what Cheryl told him that those I fired are looking to wage a legal war.

Apparently she asked him to come home to run defense for my company. She's already contacted both my business and personal attorney before doing this. So they weren't left out of the loop now he needs all the information I've got available. "Look, Clark if you don't believe what I'm saying than give my sister a call." He stated. With that he pulled out his smart phone, input his password and called Cheryl.

When she picked up he told her what was going on then gave me his phone. The second she heard me respond Cheryl backed up everything her brother said. Also assuring me that what she was doing was legal and shouldn't cause problems. Taking her word for it I handed the phone back to Bradley and asked what was next. He needed to go with me to the company then look at everything that isn't classified.

"My question to you is why do you need to see the inner workings of my business?" I asked. Vala gave my hand a squeeze merely to let me know not to do anything stupid. Bradley could see and understand my reasons for asking so he explained himself. "By going with you to see the daily comings and goings I can locate weak spots. If there are I can figure out methods to plug them and keep things from leaking out." He stated.

His tone of voice and intentions were sincere but, his actions remain to be seen. "You can have access to most of my company's inner workings under one condition. Vala will be shadowing you the entire time and her word is law understand." I replied. Not seeing the harm in it seeing as I didn't know him from a hole in the wall. Despite my dealings with his sister, Cheryl her brother was too much of an unknown.

By having someone I trust completely baby-sit him I'd feel better about it. Of course Vala can sense things faster than I can most days so she's the logical choice. Even though I would've preferred Corna but, she started her training this week. In any case I know for a fact Vala will tune his ass should he try anything funny. With nothing left to discuss Bradley had to get going and would see us tomorrow.

Escorting him to his car then watched him started the engine and drive off. At that moment I didn't know how to feel about this but, I had to trust Cheryl. Despite the strange taste it left in my mouth as I walked back into the house. Where Vala was waiting by the staircase for me and she could almost read my mind. "Clark do you think there might've been any deception in what he told us?" She wondered.
