Chapter 14: The Assembly
#14 of In Chaos
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," began the Principal, standing in the middle of the gym and holding a microphone so he could address the entire student body. "I've called you here because it has come to my attention that there are dire issues in this school that need to be addressed."
The bear took a deep breath, then continued. "First of all, we are happy to welcome Sonic and Shadow Hedgehog to our school. They are from Mobius, Japan, and are taking part in our foreign exchange program. Please do your best to welcome them and to make their stay as pleasant as possible."
The audience erupted into applause, and especially the boys of the sixth grade class who had seen Lucy's humiliating defeat. Both Shadow and Sonic stood, waving, so that the school would better know who they were, although it was obvious that they were the only hedgehogs in the school.
Rodriguez, slightly hidden in the top row, did not clap. He was sitting on the same side of the gym as Shadow, and watched as the two hedgehogs stood. He made a mental note to ‘welcome' Sonic to the school after school ended.
As the clapping died down, the Principal brought the microphone to his lips again. "Furthermore, regarding these two hedgehogs, you may have noticed their shoes being just a little bit different. I've been informed that we cannot find shoes that fit their feet, so instead, I have implemented a temporary and experimental casual shoe policy."
The crowd started chattering, and the Principal cleared his throat to gain attention again. "There are a few rules that need to be mentioned regarding this policy. Each of you will be sent home with a list of what those rules are, but I will outline them now just to make sure you know what they are." He pulled a pocket-sized notepad from his pocket and proceeded to read from it.
"One: No popular brand name shoes. Two: No pictures on the shoes, and no more than four colors. Three: Shoes are not to be higher than ankle height. Four: White socks are still regulation." He cleared his throat again and put away the notepad. Perhaps maybe he was coming down with something?
Chattering resumed, and the Principal let it continue for a time while he went to get some water. His throat was unusually dry today. Returning a few minutes later, he raised his hands to quiet things down again.
"Alright, next issue. Most of the student population saw my tackling Rodriguez on Friday. I'll have you know that your parents have already agreed to that particular punishment. If I find anyone fighting during class, they will be tackled like that. Fighting WILL NOT be tolerated at my school!" He glared at the congregation of students, and the gym became so silent you could hear a pin drop. "Am I clear?"
The gym reverberated with a "Yes, sir!"
"Okay. On a lighter note, I've been informed that cheerleader tryouts will be held this Wednesday, after school in the gymnasium. Anyone wanting to try out is encouraged to attend. Males are just as welcome as females.
"On the same note, we are pleased to announce that track has come to St. Lovejoy's School. Anyone wanting to try out for the flat track or cross-country teams are encouraged to sign up. Also, those students scoring high enough during their mile run in Physical Education will be required to, at the very least, try out."
The crowd of students began chattering amongst themselves again, no doubt trying to decide whether or not to try out, as well as trying to guess who would go out for it. Sonic found himself being nudged by Edward, Pokeinfo, and Sara. Pokeinfo leaned forward and whispered fiercely into his ear. "You should go volunteer! With your speed, we'd never lose!"
Sonic looked at Pokeinfo and shook his head. "I don't like racing when it's not a challenge. Lucy was the only exception... I know I have this commanding ability when it comes to running, but I don't like to flaunt it. I really don't."
Pokeinfo looked puzzled, and opened his mouth to speak again, but Sonic beat him to it. "It would be like putting you in a purring contest versus that Rod guy. It's a natural talent and you know you'd win, so there's no fun in it."
That caused Pokeinfo to shut his mouth, and he sat back, thinking. He realized Sonic was right, and nodded his head. "Okay. But you know Lucy's gonna report your P.E. scores to the Principal and you'll have to try out anyway."
Sonic nodded. "I'll cross that bridge when I get there."
The Principal resumed speaking. "There's a couple other sports trying to take root in Pouncefield, and students are encouraged to try out for neighborhood teams. I believe Jon Speedz is trying to get a kickball tournament organized, and I had a student mention to me Friday about an idea for a skateboarding team.
"Let me stop here and say that no suggestion is a stupid one. My office is always open, and if you have an idea for an extracurricular activity, or a fund-raising event, or even if you have an opportunity to get your favorite band to play a concert here, I'm open to all suggestions. I'm not saying I'll agree to it, but that shouldn't deter you from presenting your idea.
"Speaking of bands... the school talent show will be held exactly two weeks from Friday. Anyone wishing to participate, be it a solo act or a group act, or even a band, needs to sign the sign up sheet in Mr. Parks' class. Bands expecting to perform songs with vulgar language will not be accepted."
Shadow's head was swimming with the possibilities. No longer were the Emeralds his first priority; not with all of this extra stuff presenting itself to him. He was sure that Sonic would jump at the chance to show himself off, so Shadow figured he could take part in some extra activities and still have enough time to look for the Emeralds. The talent show could be fun, and with Chaos Control...
Sonic, however, wasn't as interested in the talent show as the skateboarding idea. He would have to bring his organization idea to the Principal, and perhaps talk to the original kid that brought up the idea. Plus, he had his own ideas for activities, one involving DDR machines.
Sonic's thoughts were interrupted abruptly when he felt hands resting on his legs. Hands that were not his own. He looked to his left, spotting Delilah with her hand absentmindedly resting just above his kneecap. On his right, Sara's hand was resting about mid thigh. The feeling made him wary, but he shrugged it off to paranoia. As he adjusted his seating (the bleachers were making his butt go numb), he spotted Naomi rise from her seat and head for the gm exit, probably to go to the bathroom.
Shadow had a thought interruption of the more pleasant variety. Rhonda had leaned over and nipped at his neck, sending shivers up his spine, and in turn he had leaned back and bit lightly on hers, causing her to shiver and purr. Though Shadow was oblivious to it at his time, Rhonda's main pleasure point was her neck. Be it a fellow student member, a complete stranger, or (and she was quite embarrassed to admit this) her own relatives, the minute any contact was made with her neck, Rhonda immediately became horny. Poor, oversexed lioness.
Shadow's nip at Rhonda's neck resulted in Rhonda getting up from her seat next to Shadow, and moving to sit in Shadow's lap. Shadow instinctually wrapped his arms around her, but was not prepared when she started moving her hips back and forth, rubbing against his crotch. She was looking for a genital reaction, and because Shadow was caught off guard, she got one.
Shadow's member immediately started to harden, pressing against his pants. Rhonda's angle of seating on Shadow's lap caused his hard-on to rub her slit on every forward movement she made against his crotch. Needless to say, it wasn't long before Rhonda's panties were soaked (again).
Rhonda's movements went unnoticed by most of the other students, and even by the teachers. It didn't escape the attention of Jayden, however, who decided she would spend the rest of her time at school that year ruining Rhonda's reputation, trying to break up the couple, and causing as much emotional damage as she could muster.
The movements caught the eye of one other student. Sonic had almost missed it, but his sharp eyesight allowed him to pick up irregular movements in crowds. It came from constantly having to be on his guard against Eggman. His own dick instinctively started to harden at Rhonda's movements, and he suddenly found himself jealous of Shadow, an emotion he thought he'd never be privy to.
Though they didn't notice the activity going on across the way, both Delilah and Sara noticed Sonic's sudden activity below his belt line that hadn't been there before. They could see it growing and pressing against his pants, and both felt impressed by the apparent size. Each girl inched her hand up their respective leg, and Sonic was oblivious to the movement as he closed his eyes and tried to quell the rising heat in his body. The last thing he wanted was a hard-on he couldn't shift around and have the assembly suddenly end.
Desperately, Sonic tried to pay attention to what the Principal was saying. He barely made out something about basketball try-outs being postponed, and watched as the bear cleared his throat again to quiet the gymnasium.
"Mrs. Chalsea had her baby late Sunday night, and she'll be out of school for a few weeks. There are a few get well and congratulations cards circulating the classrooms, so feel free to sign one or two as they pass through the halls. The baby was born at 11:32pm, sixteen pounds, four ounces. It's their family's first herm, and she named hir Shannon. If you'd rather visit Mrs. Chalsea and see the baby, she's at Pouncefield Memorial, room 327.
"School is canceled tomorrow, on account of a snowstorm forecast. Freak weather conditions. Even if it doesn't snow, school is canceled. I don't want to take any chances.
"Lunch today is meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, and brownies. I might even have to join you... it sounds pretty good." The adult licked his lips, then continued. "This concludes the assembly. Remember, shoes are the only thing that are being changed right now; your uniforms stay the same otherwise. So have a good rest of your day, enjoy your day off, and I'll see you again on Wednesday if I don't see you at lunch."
With a final wave, the Principal walked out of the gym, and students all over began to stand and stretch. Sonic was barely able to get his member down before he had to stand, Delilah and Sara pouting visibly. Fishing the class list from his pocket, Sonic found that he was to report to one Miss Carmen for his next class, which apparently was Math.
At the conclusion of the assembly, Shadow and Rhonda stood with the rest of their class. Shadow was unfortunate enough to now have a wet spot on the front of his pants from Rhonda, but he didn't notice it. Rhonda did, and stayed in front of Shadow as a courtesy to try to hide the tell-tale spot from any onlookers. Shadow fished his class schedule from his pocket, and noticed his next class was Art, with Miss Gloria. Having never had an Art class before, Shadow wondered just how well he'd do. He didn't find himself to be much of an artist.
Both hedgehogs made their ways separately from the gym, Shadow again holding hands with Rhonda, and Sonic joking with Edward and Pokeinfo about who what new shoes the latter might wear on Wednesday. Shadow, obviously, had no idea where Miss Gloria's class was located, so he allowed Rhonda to lead him. Sonic, however, had noticed Shadow come out of the correct Math class, so he headed towards that very classroom now.
Because of time constraints, the next class would only be about twenty minutes long. That was still enough time for something to go wrong.
