Almost done.

"It turned you on," Mace said. He sat on Rock's bed. He had his legs crossed, the smooth pink underside of each foot pressed into his opposite thigh. Two days had passed since the incident with the wrestler wolf in the locker room. They hadn't spoken about it since, until now. With no introduction or prelude, Mace uttered four words and suddenly all their unspoken thoughts began to flow out.

Rock had just stepped out of the shower. He was naked, his black fur still sleek on his lupine body. "Yeah. I liked it," he said. "So did you."

"Thought I was gonna cum without touching myself," Mace said. Then he frowned. He looked down at himself. "What does that mean?" he asked. This was unusual. He was not usually the type to ask questions. "Where does that leave us? Does it mean you wanna fuck other guys?"

Rock shook his head. "Aww come on, that's stupid. 'Course not."

"But you got off on what you did," Mace said. "You sucked another guy's dick."

"Yeah." Rock sat on the edge of the bed, and he gazed into Mace's eyes. "You wanted me to do it, didn't you?"

"Sure."

"And you got off on watching. Just like you get off on your brother Roger. Did you forget?"

"Fuck that," Mace snapped. He was still defensive about that particular subject. "Just because you want something doesn't mean you should do it."

Rock nodded. "I know, but we did do it. Look, relationships don't go like stories where everybody goes home and lives happily ever fucking after. Sometimes you wanna do stuff that don't follow the rules. Sometimes you wanna break the rules."

Mace was still frowning. "But it's not the other way either -- we can't all fuck each other and not get jealous. We can't screw every guy who walks by and still hang onto each other."

"No," Rock said. "It don't happen like that either."

"So where does that leave us?" Mace asked simply.

Rock rubbed Mace's back. "Aww, come on, it's just getting to ya. You got off on him watching, just like I got off on you watching." Mace turned to look at him now. Rock took his hand. "We all got a dark side like that, buddy. We get turned on by something, and feel like it's wrong. We don't wanna like it, but we do."

Mace shook his head. "That's not what I'm worried about. I don't wanna see you screwing with other guys. It... it fucking hurts, man."

Rock wrapped his arms around Mace and pulled him close. "I don't wanna cheat on you," he said softly. "I wanna be with you. Only with you, okay?"

They had never spoken directly about this. It was the most emotionally open conversation they'd ever shared.

"I sucked the wolf off because it made you hot, and it made me hot. Got caught up in the moment, you know?"

"Yeah," Mace said reluctantly. "I'm just fucked up over this. Look bro, you'd feel the same way if it was me suckin' him off and you watching."

"I'll bet," Rock agreed. "But we did it for us. Not for him. I'm not saying I wanna do it again, but it don't mean we gotta break up."

"So... you don't want to mess around with him again?" Mace asked, with a bit of tension in his voice.

Rock laughed a little. "Fuck no. If he wants a bitch, he can find his own."

Mace smiled, and he looked considerably relieved. "Fuckin' A."

Rock touched Mace's cheek. "Hey, baby..."

"Yeah?"

Rock said, "We're a couple of horny guys. Sometimes we get wild, but we don't need it to be happy. And it doesn't mean I don't love you. 'cause I do." He repeated softly, slowly, "I love you."

Mace smiled a little. "I love you, too."

"You want something to drink, baby?"

Mace grinned. He cupped the wolf's cock in his hand and squeezed it.

Rock slapped his hand away, grinning back. "Easy, kitty. When I get back. If you're good."

Roger walked into the kitchen. It was dark -- well past midnight in his house, and very quiet. He assumed no one was awake, so he just walked around in his boxers. Half asleep, he bumped his shin on a chair with a bark of pain.

"Damn it," he mumbled.

Shadows filled the room from the street lights outside. The orange light of it always gave him the creeps.

One dark figure moved across the kitchen, startling him. It was Rock, the wolf. His large feet made only a soft sound on the tile floor.

"Rock," Roger said quietly. "Didn't know you were here." He wasn't too surprised, however, since Rock and Mace had been inseparable lately.

The tall wolf approached Roger. "Now you do," he said. There was aggression there, but not unfriendly.

Looking at Rock made him nervous. The wolf was just two blue eyes glowing in the shadows. It was more than his physical nature, though; it was the knowledge of who he was, and what he was doing with Mace, his brother. In a very real way, Rock represented the unknown-- all of the things going on around Roger of which he knew nothing.

Finally he asked, "You're spending the night in Craig's room?"

"Yeah."

"What are you doing in here?"

"Gettin' something to drink," the wolf said.

Roger asked, "Don't you sleep?"

Rock grinned. "We'll sleep after."

"You mean you and Craig are..."

"All night. And call him Mace, you know that."

Roger opened the refrigerator, feeling a bit more awake, casting the harsh light across the kitchen floor, making him squint. He pulled out three cans of soda.

"What do you do with him," Roger asked softly, handing two cans to Rock. The wolf held both in one large hand.

"You saw what we do," he said. "Looked like you enjoyed watching."

"But... do you do more than just... y'know..."

"Rubbing each other's dicks? Yeah, we do other stuff."

Roger looked away. "Are you going to be doing it when you go back into his room?"

The wolf nodded. "Yeah."

They stood there for an awkward moment. Roger felt uncomfortable asking so many questions. It felt wrong, since he really had no right to know. But in a way, he also felt that he had _every_ right to know. Mace was his brother, and he felt close to him, and damn it, he wanted to know of Mace was screwing someone. Rock certainly did not seem forthcoming with the information.

But then he said, "You should come with me."

"What?" Roger could scarcely speak.

"You should hang out in our room. Watch some more."

Roger swallowed, feeling a lump in his throat. "I..."

He was gripping the soda can in his hand so hard, he thought it would dent. He just stood there, mouth open, stomach full of imaginary butterflies.

Rock shrugged. "Your choice. If you want to, just come in when you feel like it. Your brother'll be surprised... but I guarantee he won't be mad."

Without another word, the wolf left the kitchen.

Roger stood there for a minute in the dark, frantically trying to make a decision. He wanted to go. When he thought about going in there, opening the door, not to a surprised and angry brother, but to two guys who would let him watch... and he thought about Mike, how they'd gotten so close suddenly. He couldn't bear to cheat on the rottweiler like that, not after realizing his love for him.

He didn't do it. He walked back to his room, closed the door behind him, and jerked off, despite the pain in his stomach. When he was done, he collapsed onto his bed, head on the pillow, knowing that as he lay there, his brother was having sex with another guy. And he was invited to see it. And he wasn't taking part.

He stared into the blackness of his room, and also at the blackness surrounding his heart. He lay awake nearly all night, until finally, when the odd blue light of morning poured through his windows, he fell asleep from exhaustion.
