A while back, I wanted to take the idea of the Treetop Inn, its characters, and such... and do some sort of alternate universe kind of thing, not one consistent one, but a whole bunch of different ones. This would be a lovely excuse to just put out whatever I wanted in a quick little story.

Each volume contains five shorts, and each short is usually about five pages long. Sometimes, it goes a little long, so don't be surprised if there are one or two that break that limit. Hey... sometimes five pages isn't enough and you have to go a little beyond.

Some of these shorts actually connect to form a longer narrative, one 'chapter' per volume. Some will connect to other, longer stories I've written, such as Tale 5 from Volume 1, "A Long Day in Class", which is a quasi-sequel to "The Interview". You don't have to have read the bigger story to enjoy the short, but it does lend context. That being said, the majority of these shorts are not necessarily canon in any of the stories I've written in a longer narrative form.

Since So Furry creates a single epub with everything in a folder, and doesn't create a table of contents, I've created one here so you can peruse the list, read a synopsis, and find out the content before you read.

Tale 1 - The Anniversary Gift

Smokey and Shayna are celebrating their anniversary. After trying to slip away for some private time (and all that implies), they find they can't really enjoy any alone time until after Brian gives them the gift he's so insistent he gives immediately.

Elizabeth Amunet, the 'Queen Cobra' as she liked to think of herself, had long endured a curse passed down through her family. But after a while, the notion of knowing she could only ever have a single child would weigh heavily upon her. In those moments of sorrow, there was really only one thing that would help make the pain go away.

Tale 5 - Long Day in Class

Jessie had been having a rough time lately with the editor of the paper in hir school. He was a bit of a jerk and sexist to boot, so shi decided to try going as a male. That didn't go over as well as shi, now he, had hoped. When he finally got home to the apartment he shared with his boyfriend, the 'Gravitas' star of the school, he was ready to just work off some frustration and disappear somewhere warm and cozy for a while. Thomas was always happy to accommodate.

This is something of a continuation for a story I wrote a while back (and can now be found on So Furry) called "The Interview". It takes place in a science-fiction style future, specifically on the campus of a university up on the moon. Jessie is a tigress and journalism major while Thomas is the star player for the school's "Gravitas" team, which is a zero-G game that's a cross between football, soccer, and rugby. After their initial meeting, Jessie convinced the stallion to give body-modding a try and introduced him to a product hir mother's company manufactures, a crystalline construct that attaches itself to the skin and can send out genetic commands to alter one's form how they see fit. Just sync it with your visor (everyone has one of these Google Glass type devices) and you're in business.

Of course... what Jess has in mind this time is a bit more unusual compared to their usual fare.

Tale 1 - Extracurricular Activities - Film Appreciation

Here we have a continuation of a story series I wrote for Talash, "Extracurricular Activities" (which you can find elsewhere in my archive here). Some time has passed since the end of the main series, and the crew has settled in to having a sixth person in the house, and a big one at that. One of their favorite together-time things to do is to watch a bad movie with lots of snacks.

This was a short story commission for a fellow named Czar Reynard (you can find him under that name over on FA) starring his lovely horse gal, Mirage.

Tale 3 - Just Another Day at the Beach

This was a commission for Ratchet Sly (found under "Ratchetsly" on FurAffinity) starring his fertility goddess otter, Alanis.

She has an encounter with a rather well-endowed red panda which leads to fairly predictable conclusion if you're familiar with my work.

Tale 4 - Sampling Fatherhood

This was a commission for Sedrin, who seems to have a fondness for male-pregnancy like I do, which is definitely a good thing in my book.

Sedrin pays a visit to the Inn after not having seen Smokey and Shayna for quite some time, old friends that they are. When they finally meet back up, he is startled to find Smokey is pregnant, and finds himself intrigued by the notion. So intrigued in fact, he's interested in trying it out of he could find a way. It just so happens that Smokey and Shayna know how that can be arranged.

Tale 5 - A Chance Encounter

This was a commission for Poojawa who wanted to see some fun between the purple fox and the blue dragon. I was kinda blushy that's what she wanted but I wasn't against the idea. Just feels a little funny when someone asks to have something made involving me. Even if I make it. Still, I think it turned out nicely.

Poojawa was wandering the wilds of the world, finally coming to a tavern she visited from time to time while in the area. She didn't go there for the drinks or the food or the atmosphere. She went there because another certain person visited from time to time, and she hoped to run across him.

Tale 1 - Swagcorp's Colonization Policy 1

Smokey was 'recruited' into Swagcorp's Colonization program. Of course, everyone knows that Swagcorp is 'famous' for its somewhat dubious business practices. It was as if someone took the Acme corporation from Looney Tunes and merged it with Momcorp from Futurama. So, when Smokey as 'recruited', it was more being cornered in an alley and sedated, crammed into a spaceship, and launched into orbit before he woke up.

How would it play out? Well... Smokey was gonna find out. If you want to follow along in his exploits, feel free to read!

Tale 2 - Vore Virgin

Mal and Nancy had a pretty healthy sex life, even if there was a bit of a size difference. She was a mare, and he was a hare, so there were bound to be some complications. Still, they made it work. Eventually though, they had to find ways to spice things up a bit, and that was when Mal suggested something Nancy was rather hesitant to consider. Still, after discussing it several times over a pretty hefty period of time, Nancy relented and decided to give it a try, though with great trepidation.

He wanted her to eat him.

She couldn't possibly succeed, could she? He wouldn't survive the trip, right? Mal dismissed her inexperience and insisted.

Tale 3 - Champion of the Ring

Sled and Prisma enjoyed sparring pretty frequently. They were fairly evenly matched and often tried to see who between them was the better. In this particular instance, they decided to make this round a little more interesting.

This was a sort of commission for Sled (username sledmetodeath on FA) of him and his girlfriend Prisma (username prismalin on FA) because I had a little bit of a 'contest'. I asked for someone to find a hoodie I would want to buy/wear to a concert. He found one, but it was too close to the concert to order and have it delivered. So, even though I wasn't able to buy it, I honored the rules of my contest and wrote him a quick five pager.

Please note: I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BOXING... so... judge me kindly on my skill or lack thereof when trying to describe the action.

Tale 4 - High School Simulation

Sirius had been eyeing Smokey for quite some time. As the star quarterback of the high school football team, he had a certain status that afforded him social niceties he had grown accustomed to. IE he could pretty much get with whoever he wanted simply by expressing interest. The blue dragon was a bit different though, not quite forbidden fruit, but certainly those grapes that are just so darn hard to reach. Thankfully, with careful planning and a great deal of patience, he found his opportunity. Poor Smokey never saw it coming.

But then again, he did. After all, it was a favorite game of theirs... when they could find the time to play it. The responsibilities of the Inn kept them so busy they rarely got a chance to indulge in a little roleplay.

Tale 5 - Private Session

This was a gift story to a friend of mine, Fenrir Lunaris, who is a damn good artist and has been nothing but awesome towards me. I wanted to write something I thought he would enjoy. To that end, I have put together a little something involving his lovely she-wolf, Lassie.

The Inn had many ways to distract its guests. Lassie, having only visited but a handful of times, found herself bored when the boys all ran off to act like children. Shayna took note of her malaise and took it upon herself to relieve the wolf of such a state. And she knew just how to make it rather memorable and relaxing at the same time.

It isn't easy being a dragon. Especially when there are so many knights that want to carve a reputation out of you one way or another. Smokey had put up with many such knights, and through all of this, he'd come up with what he belived was a fool-proof way to handle such incursions. Of course, it did have its drawbacks. After all, a dragon's got to protect his home and his companion.

Trisha, Hannah, and Jenny were long-time friends who usually spent their Friday nights doing a bit of bar crawling. One night, they decided they'd let things get a little too boring and wanted to branch out. Trisha, having heard of something rather interesting, suggested they visit a rather specific establishment. There they were introduced to a horse with some rather interesting talents. Boring was far from what they would describe their time there as.

Hard to do when the computer keeps shutting you out. And even harder when the medical capsule has other plans for you that make getting around something of a challenge. How did they plan on colonizing a whole planet by sending just one person anyway?

Tale 5 - Hungry for Glory 1

Elisha was a rather fond of her swords and sorcery game. The virtual reality interface made the game feel pretty real, which made it all the more enjoyable for her. When her friends insisted she install a new mod for the game, she had her doubts. After all, user-made content was kind of hit-and-miss a lot of the time. But it came pretty highly recommended. The real question was, just what did this mod do to the game? And was it something she was interested in at all?

Tale 1 - A Healthy Relationship

Sirius and Brian were often busy taking care of things around the Inn. You weren't ever really 'off duty' while you were on site, so it meant you had to take the moments of intimacy when you could get them. Thankfully, there were plenty of opportunities.

It didn't hurt that public displays were welcome, even encouraged. And it didn't hurt that Brian's idea of fun tonight wasn't that far out of the ordinary for the inn.

Tale 1 - When in the City of Jackals

Smokey, Sirius, and Brian decided they wanted to visit the city of jackals, Navarre, after hearing it about it. Sirius and Brian a bit more than Smokey. Smokey's interest was the culture and seeing a different take on hospitality so he could incorporate some of that into the Inn. Sirius and Brian on the other hand had their own 'nefarious' purposes. Their mischief didn't take long to show itself, and poor Smokey was the target.

This story had to run slightly long like one or two others in order to fit in everything I wanted to work with. This was a request from Thellos a good long while back. This 'city of jackals' belongs to him, part of a bigger world his characters reside in. He thought it would be amusing for these three to visit, so... I had them visit! Enjoy

Tale 2 - What Harm Could It Do 1

Jess managed to convince his roommate Jerry to join him at the club. It wasn't Jerry's scene, mainly because it was a gay club and he was straight. Jess insisted they stay longer and longer in spite of Jerry feeling uncomfortable. A few drinks loosened him up a little, but would it be enough for what ultimately happened? It was just some innocent fun, right?

Smokey's new daughter, Azure, had proven to be quite the resourceful lady. Strange, considering shi was only a few days old. From there, Smokey wasn't sure what would happen. Shi wasn't aware of what shi'd have to do to get Azure flight ready either.

Elisha, finding herself face to face with a dragon, found it difficult to do battle when her stomach was so big she couldn't move. Just how would this play out for her and her tiger companion? Tale 5 - Initiation Ritual

Segremores loved initiating people into the 'Nut Club'. Mainly because as one of the founding members, he was one of the three who got to enjoy feeling initiates trying their best to survive for as long as possible buried in his sac. The rule was whoever of the three stayed solid longest would get to join the club. But only if they could escape after being declared the winner. Naturally, that didn't always happen.

Tale 1 - Network Maintenance 1

Jace enjoyed the task of checking on the main network nodes for the Inn. It let him indulge himself in a little hobby of his, thrill seeking. With access to the rooms housing the hardware arranged such that you had to fly or use rock-climbing gear, it was pretty secure, if a little frightening to get to. At least, for someone who wasn't an experience adrenaline junkie. Unfortunately, Jace wasn't quite so meticulous about maintaining his harness and gear as he was the network hardware. Thankfully, he had someone watching out for him.

This was originally the lead-in for The Treetop Inn Chapter 7, but the version containing this had gotten so blasted long and that version meandered a bit too much that it was decided it needed to be re-written from the ground up. I didn't want to trash everything that as in it, so I decided to take the introductory part (this section) and the epilogue (Network Maintenance 2) and let them stand as short stories on their own. The second part will be at the end of this volume and Chapter 7 of The Treetop Inn takes place in the middle.

Tale 2 - Swagcorp's Colonization Policy 5

Smokey was finally on hir way to the correct planet... or moon... or whatever. Whatever it was, shi was on hir way to the right one. With Azure's help of course. Since they didn't have just an excess wealth of fuel left, they had to plot a conservative course. That meant they would take a good deal longer getting there than Smokey might like. Two weeks cooped up in a depressurized ship to save on life support, unable to take a very close fitting suit off except for brief periods when shi could pressurize the shower stall to get clean, and being constantly stimulated by the clone-daughter keeping hir belly big and stretched out... Shi was on the verge of just going mad.

Thankfully, hir destination came. Of course, now that shi was where shi was supposed to be (and thank goodness it was a place with lots of water), next came the actual colonization process. And Azure was rather eager to get started right away. Oh dear.

Tale 3 - What Harm Could It Do? - Part 2

Jess woke up the next morning, more than just a little hung-over from his night at the club. He was shocked (well, not that shocked) to find the results of the fun he had enjoyed during the blackout of his memory. Oh Jerry was going to be unhappy when he woke up, but Jess was just enjoying the situation way too much. Of course, Ginger, Jerry's girlfriend, might have something to say about that. He'd have to let Jerry out. But he'd at least like to soak up the moment a bit longer first.

Tale 4 - Hungry for Glory 4

Elisha, or better known in game as 'Katiyanna the Bottomless', was pensive about moving on in the game. She had to complete Salano's quest at some point if she wanted to progress. But that meant she would more than likely lose her healer. And she had come to rather enjoy having a dedicated healer in her party. Not to mention how much she enjoyed feeling him bounce around in her belly during her traipsing through the woods. In a moment of genius, she'd thought of a brilliant way to delay the inevitable, train the tiger to use his vore skill just as she had done. Unfortunately, he wasn't exactly specced out to handle such training, but he did as he was told, even though he was left painfully full most of the time.

Eventually, she would have to give up and go finish his quest. In the back of her mind, she knew the game was only just beginning.

Tale 5 - Network Maintenance 2

Carmel left the dining hall after Smokey regaled the whole table with the story of the dryad dragon's origins. It had been an emotional tale and shi was a little shaken by retelling it. Shi wasn't sure how Jace would take all of it. There was a lot of information to process. But that wasn't the only concern they had on their plate. Jace hadn't finished his work on the network nodes and he was in no position to resume. Carmel would have to take his place and he would have to walk hir through it. On top of that, they had a new seed in the works. That part wasn't anything to worry about, but it was a waiting game and they would need to be ready when it was.

This was the original lead-out for The Treetop Inn Chapter 7, and just as with "Network Maintenance 1" it had to be cut from the main story, but I didn't want to get rid of it altogether. So here it is as its own standalone story. It connects with both of the other two pieces, but to a certain extent, it stands fairly well on its own. The correct order to read all three pieces is "Network Maintenance 1", then "The Treetop Inn Chapter 7", and then this. Of course, I won't begrudge you reading Chapter 7 first, then coming over to these two.
