Game-Starting Area-Kora-Progress: 0/12 Mementos...
As soon as she reappeared where she started, Kora shuddered. She did not run into him again. But thanks to him, now she has to go grab the key once more. She ran down the right hallway, hearing the wood creak underneath her shoes before she start running along the concrete floors.
As she ran down a conjunction of doorways, she saw something glowing on the bed. It almost looked like a...
"Ooh! A cookie!" she cried, picking the cookie off the bed...And watching it disappear from her grasp.
[1/12 Mementos collected.]
"Dammit..." she cursed, hearing the storm outside get louder as she started the game off from there, she just barely missed being grabbed by a shadowy tendril...
Moving on, she ran to the key room, passing by a bathroom.
'Wait...Was that...?' Kora had to do a double take as she walked back, looking at the sink...Was...Was that a donut? Her stomach grumbled in hunger; all these snacks she couldn't eat; this game was torture already.
Walking in, Kora grabbed the donut out of the sink, once again seeing it disappear out of her grasp.
[2/12 Mementos collected.]
At least she was back on track. Moving on from there, she went towards the basement. Running for some reason was very tiring than it should be, so Kora saved her energy for when she'd really need it. The weird music was kinda creeping her out, even more so when she saw a frying pan.
Since when do you find frying pans OUTSIDE the kitchen?" she asked no one but herself, picking it up with intent to place it where it belonged.
When it disappeared, she cried out in surprise and jumped at the resonating boom from the storm outside.
[3/12 Mementos collected.]
There was a sudden click in her head and she saw an image of her staff in the statue's hand back at the beginning.
"Hmmm...I don't get it." She shrugged and stood there, allowing ample for-.
'[Static]-Kora, pick up the-[Static]-ing phone!' Now, there's a voice she can use instead of loud, booming noises.
'Seje, hello?'
'Dammit, Kora! You know I can't just stave off time to talk! [Static] I've got a problem and it's not just a stubbed toe.'
'What? What is it?'
'It's the-[BOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!]...[Static]...'
The reception cut there, ending the call too soon. She tried to call him back, but it went straight to voicemail. That was weird, she thought. They were communicators, not phones.
But who knows or cares? She had a staff to get back!
Reality-Seje-Lilycove Base-16:42 P.M...
"[Panting]..." Seje was getting tired. This fight was getting nowhere for him.
The whole room was either damaged or completely destroyed. The tanks were next to useless at this point, having their primary arms bent or torn off during the fight...
'Give up...? Your defeat and inevitable death is coming soon, child...' The Sentinel sneered at the Leader in his vision, face contorted in a frown despite the fact that this face shouldn't have one.
"You'll...have to try...a lot harder than that, you bastard..." Said human was nearing his last legs, bleeding from multiple lacerations to his arms and thighs which made moving painful and taxing. There was a trail of the vital, red fluid dripping from his mouth. But he still kept going, 'W' form being the only thing he could use at the moment.
'I don't have to try and kill you...It wasn't even an effort to get you this far in the fight...' Indeed, the spector wasn't even breaking a sweat, only a few bruises on his otherwise unharmed body.
"We'll see about that..." Seje readied the sword in his hand, wheel switching to 'White' and giving the blade an eerie sheen.
'Persistence will only get you so far...' The Sentinel readied his staff, tired of Seje's lack of common sense. Just as he was about to dash and run him through-
[BANG!]
A gunshot rang out, the high-powered bullet coming from-
'Move in! Move in! Go, go, GO!' Team Neo grunts and a few Admins rushed into the Tank Hangar, surrounding the combatants quickly. The sounds of hammers being clicked on and safeties being off sounded in near-sync before nearly fifty barrels to various guns were pointed at them.
'Drop your weapons or you will be taken down!' one of them yelled, pointing his gun at The Sentinel. He did nothing of the sort; only shifting his attention to the grunt. He shivered as it felt like his soul was being judged by this...this..."cartoon character"...
'Drop! Your! WEAPONS!' another screamed, trying to be brave and fearless while avoiding a shart as The Sentinel turned to him. One of the grunts shot up in the air, trying to get him to "pay attention to your superiors".
All it got him was a beheading he didn't even get to see coming.
'Take it down!' The scene turned into complete chaos and danger as all the men began to fire their weapons, cover being taken as The Sentinel began his assault on his new targets. Seje took this chance to run behind a mangled tank engine, receiving gunfire his way.
"Damn...I could really use something for these...cuts..." Seje groaned in pain as he lifted his arms to fire back at his enemies, getting some hits but also missing. A soldier, who had been lucky enough to escape the Sentinel's piercing gaze, had charged behind the cover, believing it to be unoccupied until he saw Seje. He pulled out a knife out of reflex, but he was shot by a panicking grunt.
'AHHH!' He cradled his now-useless left arm, knife falling to the ground with a clang. Seje picked it up and stabbed him in the temple with it, kicking the body away.
"Idiot..."
Adam-Same Time As Events In Tank Hangar-Upper Base Level 4...
"Okay...The coast is clear..."
The boy Ashford was peeking out a closet door, having hear everything going on downstairs. He had snuck out the office a few minutes ago and had already set about escaping. Just maybe with that map layout, there could be a straight-forward exit right-
Wait...
Adam froze. Not one to suddenly hear people-or disembodied voices at this point-say something to him without announcing themselves, he hurriedly closed the door and locked it with the metal piece he had found to break the lock.
Do not leave yet, young Ashford...
...And now the voice knew his last name. Perfect. What else does it know?
A lot, but that's beside the point...Do not leave the Base just yet...
"W-w-w-w-w-well...I'm not...g-going anywhere...in a hurry so...Why c-can't I leave...?" He figured saying something would get him outta there sooner. Maybe visit a psychiatrist to help him get meds for "disembodied voices in his head".
I take that offensive, you know? I AM in your head, after all...
That last few words sounded resentful, so Adam kept his thoughts to himself...for now. So...why can't he leave?
I'm getting to that. You know the ruckus at the bottom floors, correct?
Yeah, and he planned to stay AWAY from all that.
Well...I'm sorry to say but...You're gonna HAVE to go there...
Wait, what!? Why!? Surely Adam didn't have to do any fighting! He can't hit hard enough to save his life!
Don't worry; you won't be causing the damage physically. But enough of that. You need to get down there and help my Guardian. His battle with his opponent is becoming far too one-sided and I fear we may lose one of the few people that can rid of Team Neo for the betterment of the world...
O...kay...That happened. Why is this "Guardian" so important to...whoever this is...?
...It's your adoptive cousin... Seje...
The mere mention of his cousin's name made Adam pause once again. The only time he even heard-let alone SEE- the name were when he hid from Team Neo grunts grumbling on about his bounty. Not to mention he did...kill.. someone's son...
Yes, he is responsible for that. But if you don't help him now, he'll die and soon the only resistance I could build up will deteriorate to nothing...Please...Don't let his death be in vain...
Adam had a choice here...Should he leave, letting Seje inevitably get killed by his opponent and seal the fate of the innocent people of the world? Or should he go downstairs, risk his life and help keep him alive so a resistance can still exist...? Eh, fuck it. He might die soon, anyway. Might as well do it helping someone...
Good choice. The world may yet be safe again thanks to you. Now go. He won't be able to last long without some form of support...
"Yeah...Wait, who are you...? Hello...?" The voice did not answer his question, leaving him asking the closet, which he looked around to see was a closet for computer tech. Looking around, he came across a metal box, the lock on it open as if someone had been looking and left out in too much of a hurry to lock it back. Sucks to be them; now Adam was curious about it.
He grabbed the box off the shelf-cause where else is it gonna be in a simple closet?-and gave it a look-around. It didn't have any noticeable indentations, so it wasn't booby-trapped. Shrugging, he opened the box.
Inside was what looked like to be a chrome-colored metal bit. It looked like a simple ball, but to Adam it looked like...A solution...With that mindset, he grabbed it...
And as soon as he did, he got pricked on his palm.
Dropping the bit back into the box, he recoiled in pain and looked at the area where he got pricked. It was only a drop, but since he had sensitive skin, it felt like a knife tip. But before he could fully comprehend it all, a mechanical voice spoke...
'Identity Method: Successful. Subject Name: Ashford, Adam. Blood Type: AB+. Gender: Male. Intelligence-'
"Hey!"
'-Above average...I guess.'
"I am not stupid! Who gives you the right to know my life like a computer!?" The info scan had pissed off Adam so quickly, he was on the box ready to punch the bit. But what he wasn't expecting was-.
'Oh do go on. I'd love to see how you would be able to harm me without hurting yourself.' The bit chuckled, sounding like a monotone piano note.
"...Meanie..." Adam didn't really have much to say but that, shaking the box a little before the bit floated out...
Floated out the box.
'Bet you weren't expecting that, were ya?' The snarky bit asked.
"...Anymore surprises...?"
'Nope. Now, you can call me...The Command Bit...'
Kora-The Game-First Floor Area-Time Unknown...
"Just...gotta...get there..." Kora was tired of a lot of things. One, she had ben running all over trying to find out which hallway led back to the start. Two, she had been "touched" a little too many times on her should for comfort, so she knew she was being followed.
Last? She had been hearing voices...Weirdly familiar voices...
But that didn't matter as she finally found the right hallway, seeing that statue that noted the front door's location. Kora rejoiced before taking off, newfound energy giving her strength. But there was a sudden shift in the environment...It was getting darker and darker up ahead...And the ground seemed to try and sink in on her footfalls. But Kora kept going...
For Sin...
For Kuri...
And most importantly...Her Chris-Ku-.
[Plunk...]
She had been right in front of the statue, ready to pick up her staff from its stony clutches when her foot got sunk into the ground. Cursing, she tried to reach for the staff anyway, only to feel the pull on her foot get rougher, intent on keeping her away from her goal.
Kora struggled and struggled and pushed up with all of her might. But in the end, all she accomplished was getting her whole lower body stuck. When her fatigue caught up to her, she stopped moving. Panting for breath heavily, she looked down to see that she was sunk to her waist in the floor.
"[Pant] Could this...[Pant]get...[Pant] any worse...?" There is a reason why you never say that phrase and others like it...
Kora felt a hand on her should, cold and pale white...
Wait...Pale white...? She froze up and shakily turned upwards, looking behind her to see...
Slenderman.
He did a "Tsk tsk" motion with his finger on his free hand before the game violently went black. All Kora thought as she blacked out was...
'Did I just get insta-killed...?'
