Akira looked carefully out of the ventilation shaft.

Through the grid, he could see the entire cell block, where no one seemed to be.

He carefully opened the ventilation grid and sneaked out of the shaft.

He scented Ari and went to his door, but it was locked.

A code that you had to type on a keyboard, seemed to be the only way to the inside of the cell.

Akira didn't know the code, he wanted to start to short-circuit the keypad when the lights went out.

The whole room was dark, an alarm went off.

He looked rapidly around himself, with his gun out and ready. "A trap!" he thought.

But an emergency lighting switched on and the cells opened.

He held his gun ready, if the prisoners were going to attack him, but the assault didn't happen.

He thought not much about it, he only cared for Ari, therefore he quickly went in Ari's cell.

But he couldn't perceive much in the dim light.

"Ari, come out! Ari, come with me!" he screamed.

But Ari didn't move.

Akira kept his gun in front of him.

"Come on, I need you, can you hear?" he shouted again.

But Ari did not move.

Akira lowered the gun and looked at Ari, his eyes looked sluggish and a strong smell of drugs came out of his mouth.

As Ari didn't get up voluntarily, Akira grabbed his arm and pulled.

Ari got up and went with Akira out of his cell.

Akira wondered how he could make it all the way to Ari.

Suddenly he heard footsteps running towards him.

He pointed his gun at the approaching steps and was ready to shoot.

He could not tell if it was a Lupain or a human.

"Stay where you are or I'll shoot!" Akira warned.

But he lowered his gun when he saw who toddled there. It was Shane.

"Shane??" he asked.

"Yes, do not shoot! It's me," he said.

Shane? How did you get here? You were supposed to wait for me above. How did you manage to come here?" he asked.

"Through me, it was too dangerous for Shane. You had drawn attention of motion sensors and a couple of cameras. They would have noticed him sooner or later," said a female voice.

Behind Shane a woman came to light, she wore a white coat.

"Why would you do that? Who are you anyway?" Akira asked.

"How rude of me Akira, you could actually have recognized me by my voice. I'm Carol Ashton. I belonged to the scientists who have made you these beasts."

Akira rushed towards Carol, he pressed her against the wall and choked her.

"Give me a reason not to kill you!", Akira said.

"Let her go, she had brought me to you and told me that she wants to bring us out of here. All of us!"

"Lies!" Akira said and pressed Carol even tighter against the wall.

"No, he's telling the truth," Carol stammered.

"Then speak, CAROL," he said and released Carol's neck.

"You can not go back. They know that you're here, but I can get you out of here."

"How?"

"There's an old delivery entrance, it is shut down and beside me almost nobody knows of it."

"Why should we trust you?" Akira asked.

"Haven't you noticed? The doors, the cameras that I have controlled for you so that you can find Ari as fast as possible!"

"How and why did you do that? Where were the guards? How do you know Ari? You lie! Come behind me Shane. She's a liar."

"I do not lie Akira, I'm a scientist, it was easy for me to put something in the coffee of my colleagues . Then, I have observed you and brought you here. It was clear to me that you had to be here because of Ari, after his arrest he kept asking after you. He even speaks fairly well our language. Even if he was never in the Lupain language and cultural program."

"Okay CAROL, what are you doing with them? They are not trained to fight."

Carol bowed her head: "They get slaughtered every day."

"Slaughtered?" Shane asked.

"Slaughtered for what?" Akira asked.

"After the test program was completed with you, they carried on to the main program. They have created something new, creatures with your DNA to destroy you."

"I do not believe you," Akira said and pointed his gun at Carol.

"Shane take Ari, let's go," he added.

"If you open the door from where you came from, you are death, I am death," Carol said.

"Well CAROL, then show us this old delivery entrance. One wrong move and I pull the trigger," Akira said.

"What is with the other Lupains, we can not leave them here," Shane said.

"I'm sorry, I do not know how long the doors delay them. The drugs keep at least a few more hours," she said.

You promised me," Shane said. His ears drooped and he looked down.

"I'm sorry," Carol said and then she wanted to touch Shanes head.

But Akira took her hand. "Do not touch him, who knows who you really are, because of people like you, I have my own people killed," Akira growled.

A low hiss interrupted the dialogue.

"What's that?" Shane asked.

"We have to leave immediately, take Ari, we have to hurry," Carol said.

"Damn it! What's that?" Akira asked.

Carol paused, "They weld open the door."

Akira and Shane grabbed Ari and ran behind Carol.

"Why do they not blow up the door?" Akira asked.

"I have sabotaged the detonators, but I thought it would take them longer to realize it."

"Great Plan", Akira said.

Shane looked back, "The poor Lupains."

"I promise you Shane and I will keep my word, we will find a way to get them out of here. I do not believe this Carol, but the humans are capable of anything. They do not belong here, no matter what humans do with them, they have no right", Akira said.

"Free them yourself," Carol said.

"Very funny, how will that work? With your help?"

"No, they will know that I have helped you, as soon as they see me, they will kill me. Then my security codes will no longer work," Carol said.

"What is your plan then, Carol?" Shane asked.

"Well you're the plan. Once the Lupains hear of this institution, they will liberate all Lupains and destroy these creatures and the establishment."

"CAROL, your plan does not work, I no longer understand the Lupains, Shane just as little. Thanks to your sick experiments with us I can not say a word that Lupains understand," Akira said.

"But Ari can. You just have to find a few Lupains and Ari can tell them thereof," Carol said.

"Well then I really hope that Ari is later talkative and Lupains won't remember me. Otherwise, I'm messed up," Akira said.

"In my left pocket is a key with a house number, it fits into a lock of a secret apartment of mine. On the table is an envelope for you. Inside the envelope is a CD, videos of this institution are on it. In addition, I have there a personal message to you Akira. If you give the Lupains the message, nothing will happen to you," Carol said,

"I'm glad that the scientist who has made me a monster and murderer does not want me to die."

Carol paused, "I wanted nothing of this, Akira! Do you think I want that? "Then they would have killed you?" Shane asked.

"Yes, but I do not care. For what we have done to you, we all will burn."

"What were you afraid of then?" Shane asked.

"Akira's life."

"Wait, you're afraid for my life? But you belong to the people who destroyed my memories and brought me to kill and betray my own species."

"Akira, I did not want to, I .. I," Carol said.

"I .. I, what I?" Akira asked.

Carol turned around and walked towards Akira, he pointed his gun at her.

Shane pushed Akira's weapon down a bit, "wait, Akira."

Carol went further to Akira, she gently placed her left hand on Akira's neck, then she gently caressed with the back of her hand over Akira's scar.

"You're so beautiful," Carol stammered and gave Akira a kiss.

"Okay I understand that Carol," Akira said, lowering his ears, "but we must continue now."

After they went on and found the delivery entrance, they were surprised by a soldier.

He had no regular equipment, he was a T.A.L.O.S.

"You lousy bitch," he said dully and struck Carol aside.

Akira shot with his gun at the TALOS, but the bullets bounced off.

"Shane, do you have my sword?"

"No, I'm sorry, I did not get it out."

The TALOS knocked Shane aside and pressed Akira against the wall. "Now you're going to die, you dirty cur, just like this bitch and the other cur!"

Akira tried to destroy the suit with his claws but it was also cut resistant.

The T.A.L.O.S choked Akira more.

"Leave him alone!" Shane yelled. He shot several times on the back of TALOS and then jumped on the back of the TALOS. Shane boxed with his fists on his head.

"Let him go!" Shane shouted.

The TALOS let go of Akira, who slumped to the ground and snapped same air.

"You filthy cur, get off me!" He grabbed Shane and threw him aside.

Then he kicked Shane: "You fucking bastard, die!"

Carol could not bear Shanes yelping, she pulled out of her coat a gun and shot three times on the TALOS.

Although all the shots ricocheted, the TALOS noticed it. He walked up to Carol, her fear made her motionless.

He took the gun from her hand and shot her in the abdomen. Carol fell lifeless to the ground.

"Carol!!" shouted Akira and jumped at the TALOS.

He bit him as hard as he could, but it was useless.

While Akira and the TALOS were fighting with each other, Shane hobbled over to Carol.

Shane tried to stop Carols bleeding with his paws.

"It's sweet of you Shane, but I will probably not make it. This TALOS have been designed for use against people, there is only one way to kill the carrier. Akira has to break his neck, a Lupain would be able to do it ... Tell him that ... ", Carol closed her eyes, " tell him that I love him, promise me."

"Yes, I promise," Shane said.

Carols heartbeat got even weaker.

"Akira, Carol says his neck is his weak point, try to break his neck!"

"Got it," Akira said, grabbing the TALOS at the head.

No, stop it Lupain, please!"

"Fuck, you asshole!" ... crack

Akira ran to Carol, "Is she still alive?"

"She no longer breathes, she must go into a hospital."

"Shane, she is already dead," Akira said and took the key out of her pocket.

Then he took her purse, "Do not look so weird Shane, she is dead. We can really use the money. Then we don't have to steal anything."

"Will you let her lie here like this?" Asked Shane.

"We can not do anything, she's dead. We have to get away before more of those guys show up here."

Akira sat in front of Carol and closed with his paw her eyes.

"Akira, I should tell you that she loved you."

"I know, now take her and my gun, we need as many weapons and ammunition as we can carry," Akira said.

He grabbed Carol's head. "Without you I could not have done that," he said and licked her forehead.

"Is everything okay, Akira?"

"Yes, we have to leave."
