Rise of the Xenomorphs: The Future Breed, Chapter 5
#5 of Rise of the Xenomorphs: The Future Breed
(Depraedor= Deh-pray-eh-door)
(Cursor=...exactly the way it sounds)
The two walked through the twisted caverns that made up the Queen's lair. As they walked by, the Drones and Warriors stopped what they were doing and watched her until she passed.
"They have such loyalty, don't they?"
a voice said from behind them. The Ravager that had brought him to the Queen and fought him earlier just dropped from the ceiling it had been holding onto with its tail. "Forgive me, my Queen, for speaking out uncalled for, but I have something you might want to hear."
"Forgiven. Oh, Anthony! Have you formally met my second-in-command yet? This is Depraedor, he's-" she began.
"We've met,"
they both snarled at the same time.
The Queen looked surprised. "Have you? Nevermind then..."
Depraedor and Anthony began walking side-by-side behind the Queen...well, about 5 feet away from each other actually.
"So, what did you need to tell me Depraedor?"
the Queen finally said to break the tension.
"Oh, yes! Well, the human ship...you remember it correct?"
"Yes, I remember. What about it? It detonated," she said impatiently.
Anthony walked slowly along looking the opposite direction, half listening to the conversation.
"Why am I here... I should be stuck in a wall with my soldiers. Or already dead, I wish I were dead. At least I knew what to do in death... this is, torment. She's playing games with me. Trying to get me to kill myself. And I might. This must be her entertainment.
He snapped back hearing...
"Riiiiiight, well, before it exploded, it managed to receive a command from one of the humans and sent out a...beacon..."
"A beacon? What kind of beacon?"
"...A bad one..."
"Be specific!" she growled a turned to face him, stopping in place. Anthony did the same; he was relatively interested in this conversation.
"It was *he motioned for her to come closer*...it was a distress beacon that was encoded with an order for an airstrike and a nuclear attack on this location. Moments after it was received, a group of about 42 battle cruisers were sent out in this direction."
"Oh...that is bad...how much time do we have?"
"Not long, less than a week," Anthony interrupted smiling. "If I know the Weyland-Yutani Corps as well as I think I do...then they'll send everything available to eradicate you."
"Don't you try to make it seem like this is our problem alone!" Depraedor roared. "You're one of use now!
Anthony stood to him, "You take that back... I'll never be one of you monsters.
"Really?" Depraedor asked in sly. "Look at yourself! You have more acid flowing through your veins than I do, and yet you're still as foolish and naïve as one of those disgusting creatures."
Anthony's rage grew, but he kept silent.
"Nevertheless, you have to serve the Hive, because to the humans, you're nothing but another worthless Xenomorph. You think they'll take you back? You think they won't gun you down like all our brothers? They will shove a grenade down your throat before they try to help you."
Anthony maintained his silence and looked down.
"That's what I thought. You're with us, now and forever, you have to serve your new home and country," Depraedor snarled. "Don't you have some sort of witty response? Something you'd like to shout back at me? Hmhmhm, at least your marines screamed when I cut them to ribbons." He hissed and brandished his blades.
Anthony screamed and leapt onto Depraedor, knocking him over the ledge of the walkway they were standing on. They two plummeted to the bottom of the structure, Anthony delivering punch after devastating punch to Depraedor. Depraedor couldn't bring his blades up quick enough to block or really do much of anything, as Anthony was just too quick.
They smashed into the ground with a huge thud. Depraedor had stopped trying to fight and was just looking at Anthony as he continued to rain blows down on his him. Anthony continued until he had begun to run out of energy and was beginning to tire. This was what Depraedor had planned for.
Depraedor took advantage of this moment of weakness and brought his hoof up to Anthony's chest. He let the tension go and his leg flung forward, sending Anthony flying into a wall. He stood up and walked towards his prey. He loomed over Anthony menacingly and brandished his claws.
He began to slice away at Anthony's chest and torso. Each cut made Anthony curl tighter into a fetal position. Anthony tried to drown the pain in relief that maybe this nightmare would be over. If he kept up he could bleed out and die. Then maybe he could see his friends again... rid himself of this horrid body. And never have to see that bitch again. And he smiled, letting the angered Xeno do as he wished.
Depraedor continued to rip his flesh and hack away at his exoskeleton, breaking it with every swipe. Anthony cringed with every swipe, crying as the swords lacerated his flesh and severed his exoskeleton.
"Depraedor!" a voice shouted. "Stop this!"
Anthony uncurled and looked over at the source of the voice. And was surprised to see the Carrier that had assisted Depraedor to force Anthony into submission last time they fought. It stood at the opposite end of the area they were fighting in.
"If he dies, the Queen will have your head by your own blades!" it shouted. "Take your rage out on another poor soul."
Depraedor leaned in and whispered to Anthony: "You have no idea how lucky you are. Strike me again and I will make sure that you have no arms to strike me with."
"Bite me!" Anthony barked through acid-pouring jaws.
Depraedor chuckled. "As you wish..."
His prehensile tongue shot out and bit deep into Anthony's shoulder, eliciting a searing cry of pain from Anthony. Depraedor released his grip and stood up, walking towards the Carrier.
"You've grown far too soft Cursor. Don't let me believe you will represent a problem later on..." Depraedor leaned in: "...or you'll regret It, brother." he purposely bumped into Cursor's shoulder and then stormed off; slicing a Drone's head off as he coolly skulked away.
Cursor walked over to Anthony and held out his claw. Anthony cautiously grabbed it. Cursor gripped it and yanked him to his feet quite roughly.
"I might have saved your life...but don't think that we are friends or that I even care about you. I care about Depraedor, not you. I will not stop him again," Cursor said and lightly pushed him backwards. "Clear?"
"Do him and I a favor next time...don't" Anthony grinned and said softly as he grabbed his ribs where he had been eviscerated wishing to tear them out and end himself, but couldn't. He looked towards the door where Cursor had followed Depraedor. The Queen walked onto the slimy floor that Anthony stood on.
"Forget him. It is time to see your friends," she said softly and brushed her tail across his face gently.
"My...my... friends!?!" he asked, eyes widening. "They're alive?!"
