He flung open the door then slammed it behind him, much to his chagrin. He glanced down the hall as he fumbled to get out his key and re-lock the door. Realizing that this would take too long he decided to just leave the door unlocked and hope for the best. He yanked on the key, only to find it that it wouldn't budge. He started to hyper-ventilate as he struggled with it, finally pulling it free. After a brief moment of relief, he heard the wood of the stairs creaking and took off towards the opposite end of the hall.

Evals made it to his room a few minutes later, panting for air and still clutching the key in his hand. He let out a sigh of relief that no one was yelling or chasing him, which meant he was safe. At least for the moment. Not wanting to waste any time he pulled out the papers and used them as a reference as he drew the symbols on the floor in caulk. With all the runes completed he pocketed the chalk and wiped dust from his hands.
