Growing Up Gay in High School - Book 1: Freshman Year - Chapter 3
Alright everyone, chapter 3 is finally out. =) I hope you enjoy! Leave comments! =D
I stood there for a few minutes, just staring at my phone. I hit the reply button on my phone and started typing,
"I..was...about..to..go..to..bed..but..I..have..a..few..minutes." I said as I was typing.
I hit send and put the phone on my desk. Not even a minute later, I felt my phone vibrating. "Damn, he's fast.." I thought to myself. It read: If it's a bad time, we can talk another time.
I responded: No, its fine. I got time. What's up?
Colin read the last text from Ty and pondered. He was sitting on his bed, shirtless, wondering what his next move should be. This is it. He could ask him out right now and either a) it'll work out or b) he'll make a complete idiot out of himself. He didn't know what to do. He was leaning towards one side but then again, he did want to be ballsy and get the guts to ask him.
He sat there for a solid ten minutes, wondering what his next thing that he was going to say.
I sat, there, looking at my phone. He hadn't got back to me. I wondered why. Could his parents have made him gone to bed and he couldn't text me back? But then again, what was preventing him from sneaking in a few when he knew the coast was clear? Well, his pants could have taken the phone away. But what parent would do that?
I keep going at these kind of questions, answering myself constantly. I started loosing up. I decided to get on AIM and see if Luke was on. It was still fairly early. Luckily, he was.
Me: Yo dude, I just got a text from Colin.
Luke: Yeah? He asked me for your number last evening.
Me: How do you know him? He didn't go to our school.
Luke: He was in one of my classes and we started talking and he wanted to hang out with us. So I gave him mine and your number.
Well, that explains why.
Luke: Well, what did he say?
Me: Well, nothing yet. He was just wondering if I could talk and then I said yes and he hasn't responded back to me.
Colin had finally came to a decision. He weighted out the pros and cons and decided what he wanted to type out. He began to type it ever so slowly.
I had finished my conversation with Luke shortly after and noticed the battery on my phone was about to die. Crap. I plugged it into the charger and sat by the wall. I kind of looked like an idiot. I began dozing off when I heard the "zzzz..." coming from my phone. I looked at the front screen to see the little envelope with the word "Colin" underneath. This is it. I ran my thumb over the OK button and clicked it. I read: So I was wondering....
"Oh my God! Are you shitting me!? All the time for that!? Alright, relax." the little voice screamed inside my head. "Alright, patience." my thoughts continued.
"Yesss?" I hissed out as I responded.
I put the phone down in anger and sat there, huffing. "His next text better be fucking good." I thought.
My phone vibrated again and I picked up quickly and realized that it was a text from Luke. "Anything yet?" it read.
"No." I said out loud.
As I was putting the phone down it vibrated again. It was the text from Colin. I opened it read slowly.
"So I've seen you around school and I was wondering if you wanted to do something with Luke and me. Catch a movie or something?"
Sweet! It's not asking me out completely but it is definitely a start. I responded: Sure! We'll talk about it later in the week.
I closed my phone and jumped on my bed, my mind already entering dream land before I hit the pillow.
I woke up the next morning and it was typical. We were rushing through breakfast and we were actually late for school. We quickly got in the car and my mom sped off. I hoped she doesn't get pulled over by the cops.
I practically jumped out of a moving car and ran through the back entrance of the school. I grabbed my stuff and was off to written oral when I realized that I really needed to take a piss. The bathroom was right next door to the class room so I ran inside. I saw someone's gym shoes in the stall as I walked in and went straight for the urinal.
I unzipped myself and began to relieve myself. I closed my eyes in sighed in relief. I looked back down to see a golden paw grasping at my sac. I gasped in pleasure.
"Shh...I know you like it..." he said, stroking my now semi hard member.
"I didn't know you were-"
"I know. I didn't think you were either. I just decided to take the chance right now. And I made the right choice." he said, kissing me neck.
He stopped stroking.
"Do you want more?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Alright then. All you have to do is wake up." he said.
I turned around.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Wake up..." he said smoothly, wrapping his arms around me.
"Wake up! Ty, we're running late! Wake up!"
I opened my eyes and saw my mom right in my face. I jumped up.
"Jeez mom, you scared the hell out of me." I said.
"Get dressed we're behind." she said as she sprinted downstairs.
I got up and, once again, there was a nice tent in my boxers with a raging hard-on underneath. The only difference was that I couldn't get myself off.
I put on a very pair of loose jeans and a t-shirt. I ran downstairs and I saw deja vu. It was like I was re-living my dream. "Hmm...let's just hope that everything comes true." I thought slyly. I got to school grabbed my stuff, and sure enough, I had to go to the bathroom. I went to the same one that was in my dream.
I walked into the bathroom and saw a pair of shoes in the stall. "Is this for real? Am I some kind of psychic or some shit?" I thought. I went to the urinal and began to do my business. I was starting to get excited. This could actually work. I heard the door open and my heart stopped.
"Hey Ty!" the voice said.
I turned around. It was Joe, from elementary school! He was a griffin.
"Damn it, Joe. I thought you were someone else." I said, zipping up.
"Who?" he asked, starting to wash his hands.
"Never mind." I said quickly, washing my own hands quickly.
I didn't even bother to dry them so I ran out the door and walked into class. If it's one thing I absolutely hate, it's being late to a class and the door being closed because once I open it, everyone is going to turn their attention towards me. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
Of course what I was expecting came true.
"Nice of you to join us, Mr. Ty." the teacher said.
"Sorry, Mr. B." I said walking quickly to my seat.
I sat down and when I looked up, I saw that Colin was looking at me. I waved and he did the "Sup?" gesture with his head. "He looks so cute..." I thought, smiling.
When the bell rang, I stood up and waiting by the door for Colin. When he walked up we started walking together. I decided to initiate.
"So what did you have in mind to do this weekend?" I asked.
"Well, how about a movie?" he suggested.
"Sure!" I said, smiling.
"Alright, coo. I'll text you with possible suggestions and times later tonight." he said, smiling back.
I nodded and we said our good byes. The rest of the day flew by. I had a nice warm feeling in my heart and of course somewhere else. I decided to walk home. There was some overcast but I didn't think it was going to rain. It did. I didn't care. I enjoyed the rain and getting wet. My backpack would've prevented my books from getting wet.
I walked into my house, dripping. I got out of my clothes. I was only in my boxers. I saw my brother sitting on the couch.
"What's up, Roy?" I asked.
"Hey, bro. Nothing new over here. I got no homework today." he said, grinning widely.
"You fuckin' suck." I said, grunting.
He started laughing as I walked up the stairs. I put on a pair of workout shirts and a plain white t-shirt. I went into my computer office and logged onto AIM as I pulled out my math book. As I started working on this easy assignment, I got an IM from a screen name that I hadn't saved onto my buddy list. It turned out to be Colin.
Colin: Got your screen name from Luke. Again. Lol.
Me: Lol. Alright. What's up?
Colin: Well, I got some possible movie suggestions.
Me: Alright, shoot.
Colin: The Hangover or Transformers.
Me: I want to laugh. The Hangover works.
Colin: Alright, my dad is willing to go with us since it's rated ‘R'.
Me: Alright, that's cool.
Colin: He won't sit with us. Lol
Me: I don't care. I'll live. :p
Colin: Alright, this Saturday work for you?
Me: Works for me. Did you talk to Luke?
Colin: Yeah, I did before you got on. He's good.
Me: Alright, I need to get crackin' on this homework. I'll ttyl.
As I was clicking ‘Exit AIM' I saw an IM from Colin saying ‘Bye <3'. "Huh," I thought, "Why would he put a heart at the end of that?"
"What the fuck was I thinking!?" Colin shouted to himself, "I can't believe I put that heart on the end of it. I hope I didn't give myself away or he thinks I'm some kind of freak."
Colin logged off and went downstairs. Dinner was finally ready and he was hungry. "I hope I haven't made a dire mistake..." he thought.
THAT SATURDAY EVENING
I was exhausted. I got food poising yesterday from some rotten fish. I was up all night vomiting. I'm better now, thank God. I'm just exhausted. I don't take naps, either. I force myself to stay awake. I don't know why, but I just do. I texted Luke and Colin what happened and they asked if I was still up for tonight. I said absolutely and not to worry about me.
My Saturday was typical. I ran around with my mom, grocery shopping for this weeks meal. My mom kept insisting for me to sleep in the car, but I refused. She knows how stubborn I am in this area.
The day passed and it was time for this evening. I got into the shower, which I purposely made freezing cold so I could wake up. I practically jumped out of my skin when the water hit me. I made it quick and when I got out, I definitely was awake. I put on a nice pair of khakis and a polo that was slightly on the tighter end.
I saw the headlights pull up into the driveway. Colin's dad was more than willing to pick all of us up.
"Mom! Colin's dad's here! I'm leaving!" I shouted.
"Alright! Have fun!" my mom shouted back.
"What time are you going to be home?" my dad said from the couch.
I didn't see him there.
"Well, the movie is an hour and a half, so about 1015." I said.
"Alright." he said, returning his attention back to the T.V.
I ran out the front door and hoped into the car. Colin was in the back seat and Luke was in the front. Alright. I'm not complaining. I sat in and buckled in.
"Everyone ready to go?" Colin's dad asked.
"Yes, dad. Go." Colin said, rolling his eyes.
He chuckled as he backed out of our driveway.
Colin sat there in the car behind his dad. He couldn't keep his eyes off of Ty. He kept stealing glances at him whenever he wasn't looking.
Eventually the theater came into view and his dad parked the car. The three teens got out first and ran ahead. A few moments later, he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He pulled it out and realized that it was a text from his dad. He opened it up and it read: He's a cute kid. Don't let him get away. Make your move!
Colin burst out laughing. He heard his dad chuckling behind them as well.
"Everything alright?" Ty asked.
"Yeah, it's cool. I just got a funny text." he responded.
"Can we see it? We want to laugh too!" Luke said.
"No, it's an inside joke, you guys wouldn't get it." Colin covered it quickly.
"Alright." Ty said.
Colin sighed in relief as he dodged that bullet.
We came to the ticket counter and Colin's dad requested four tickets for The Hangover. I gave him my money and he said not to worry about it.
"I insist." I said.
"Don't worry about it, I got it." he said, smiling.
I turned to Colin and he shrugged his shoulders. I sighed and thanked him about 10 times.
We walked into the theater and it wasn't that crowded which didn't surprise me since this was the second weekend that it has been out. The entire back row was empty. We went up and his dad sat on the other side. He was real cool for doing that. We sat together me in the middle and Colin and Luke on either side of me.
When the movie began, I started yawning. Crap. The shower didn't help as much as I would've liked it to. Colin leaned over
"You're exhausted. If you want...just put your head on my shoulder and relax. I wouldn't care." he said.
I turned to Luke and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Are you sure?" I asked, my heart beginning to race.
"Yeah...it's no problem." he said.
I nodded as he lifted his arm up and I put my head on his chest. Oh my God. He felt so warm. I heard his heart pounding. "Oh, well now this is interesting..." I thought to myself. I could tell he was trying his hardest to slow down his heart by breathing deeply.
I began to doze.
"He looks so adorable." Colin thought to himself. "I can't believe I pulled this off." He saw his dad looking at him from the corner of his eye. He turned and his dad gave him a thumbs up.
He noticed that Ty has passed out. He didn't care. He just was comfortable having one of the cutest guys laying on his chest.
"Wake up, the movie is over." I heard a voice say.
I began to wearily open my eyes and I saw the credits roll on the screen.
"Aw man, I missed the whole movie!?" I pouted.
"Don't worry about it. We can always go another time to go watch it." Colin said.
"It was pretty fucking hilarious." Luke said.
"So I guess you took a little nap there, huh Ty?" Colin's dad said.
"I'm so sorry! You paid for my ticket and-"
"Don't worry about it. It's totally cool. Colin told me what happened to you. I'm just surprised you came with us this evening." he said.
I nodded.
"Alright."
We got into the car and began driving home. I wasn't so tired anymore but I knew as soon I got home I would pass out. Luke was the first to get dropped off. He said good bye and thanks for driving and began to walk off. Colin's dad stayed in the drive way until Luke was safely went inside.
I, of course, was the next to get dropped off. I once again thanked and apologized to Colin's dad. And he, once again, told me not to worry about it.
"So does he know that you're interested?" Colin's dad asked.
"I don't think so. I just made that move to maybe give the subtle hint. I'm not sure yet." Colin responded.
"Well, it's a start. It was a smooth move there, player." he said, punching Colin's arm.
Colin laughed. He was so glad he could talk to his dad so casually about this as if it were girls. It has made this whole experience so much easier. There is still a long way to go, though...
My parents were up when I walked in. They had asked me how the movie was and if I had a good time. I told them it was hilarious and named off a couple of lines I remember from the beginning that were funny. I told them I wanted to go to bed. They understood.
When I got into my room, I stripped down to my boxers and got under the sheets. I was too exhausted to brush my teeth. However, I did take some time to think.
"I was surprised that Colin asked to do that. And why was his heart racing? Was afraid of getting caught? Or was he actually hitting on me? The message was too subtle for me to find out! I'll have to play by year. Hopefully it'll work out, but I'm not going to get my hopes up." I thought.
I continued pondering about this evening and trying to make connections, however, I couldn't get anywhere. There were still too many loose ends. I couldn't assume that it's going to work out.
I began to doze off when my dad walked in, knocking on the door.
"Got a few more minutes of energy for me to talk to you?" he asked.
"Ya sure dad. What's up?" I asked.
"I was wondering if you had any ideas on who you might ask to homecoming." he said.
"I've got a few a mind." I lied.
"You're going to go, right?"
"Yeah, for sure I'll go. Now if you don't mind, I need to get some sleep." I said, wanting to get away from this conversation.
"Alright, I get the message." he said, chuckling as he left.
"Shit, I still gotta figure out what I'm going to do about that..." I thought.
I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I passed out, one last thought passing by my mind, "Tonight was one hell of a night, though."
So there it is! I hoped you liked it!
