Natsu's Backstory Part Two!
Last Part! Unless something else happens!
Natsu awoke under a large dark wooden oak tree, mourning the loss of his lover. "I couldn't even kill myself. Nathaniel, I'm sorry." Tears leaked as his neck was a grey color from the cut. He felt odd to say the least. Natsu stood up and Hades appeared in a flash of light.
"Dumb child. I told you that you can't be killed!" He growled and the wolf flinched. "Now how many songs have you collected. I have business to do!"
"What kind of business?" He softly growled. "Tell me, what was so damn important that he had to die?"
"You will not address me in that tone boy. It is none of your concern." He dismissed the conversation with a wave of his paw, or tried to.
"No. Tell me now! Why did he have to die? Why?" He said, his growling getting louder.
Hades sighed and clenched his teeth. "To overthrow all of the gods in every realm. The songs hold tremendous power, and the gods are weak to them. Now, answer me!" He said grittily.
Natsu flattened his ears and shook his head. He looked at the ground. "He died because you decided to become power hungry? He died for nothing?" Natsu growled, his voice filled with an angry power.
"He died for everything. Not for nothing. I want to rule not just the underworld."
Natsu shrieked and looked at Hades. 'No! He died for nothing! You killed him! You killed Nathaniel!" He screamed and lunged at the tiger, his claws outstretched.
Hades sidestepped and brought his elbow down on the pup's back, making him crash into the ground with a loud grunt. "You won't win. I'm a god." The feline smirked as Natsu staggered to his feet. Hades grinned and struck Natsu with the heel of of his paw.
Natsu went sprawling and groaned.
"Why do you insist on fighting?" The tiger said simply. "You won't win."
Natsu shot to his feet, and brought out his ocarina. "For him." He brought it to his muzzle, and played a short but mournful tune.
Hades screamed as skeletons appeared from the ground and wrapped their bones around Hades, pulling him down.
"Child, I have given you life! Why this?" Hades was powerless against this song, he had no control and the feline hated it.
"Because, you sent us to get killed! You deserve no mercy!" Natsu panted as Hades head slipped under ground, and the spell broke. He heard a hiss and a phantom of the god. "Ako thumerai guwery." Natsu had no idea what this meant, but he knew he had to get out of this realm. Natsu played his ocarina and disappeared in a flash of green light. But not before the phantom disappeared and slipped into the pup's body.
In another realm, Natsu awoke and panted. He felt even worse, and couldn't seem to search for his magic anymore. He curled up and sobbed quietly. Hades placed a curse on him. The wolf would attract death like a moth to a flame. He would also be dragged to hell whenever he tried to use his other magic.
Ever since that day, Natsu being fifteen, he had been the downfall for many villages and tribes. He had attempted to kill himself many times. The worse time being when he tried to drown himself. He was stuck under water for three years, dying over and over again. The was found by an aquatic tribe and brought to the land. he awoke, gasping and sputtering. He shivered and sat up. Natsu was sopping wet and cold. It took them ten months to rehabilitate Natsu. They couldn't imagine him, drowning everyday. Since then, Natsu has been a little unstable, his blood viscous and black. This was a side effect of him dying everyday.
He set out, stumbling in a darkness he has never known before. He realm jumped, collecting songs that he could use. He suffered the curse of Hades, being threatened to be dragged to hell.
The fall of multiple realms and tribes, and even species, took its toll on Natsu. He sank into a depression like no other, unable to kill himself and unable to live with the knowledge of his past. One day, this drove him mad, seeking advice from unconventional places. He confided with Nyx, the god of shadows. Sadly, with the curse unable to be driven back due to Hades madness, Nyx was unable to help him.
He had found an arena, where others from distant realms and dimensions came to fight. There was nothing special, just some dumbasses willing to die for glory. Until he had actually had a fight, he had thought it was pointless. But his first fight with a girl named Sena had changed his mind. It was an exciting thrill, and somehow a vent for him. He felt as if this was somehow someway for him to fight his past. His first fight with her kinda set the thrill for him.
One of the most dramatic things that happened in the arena was by an Angel called Azrael. The Angel of Death. They had begun as enemies. He had tried to take Natsu to heaven, for whatever reason. A grudge had appeared, and disappeared as fast as it had started.
Azrael had found the cure for Natsu's curse, breaking the seal on him by Hades. Natsu is forever grateful, and now had went to seek counsel of Nyx.
Nyx, in his realm of shadows, welcomed the wolf with welcome arms. He had described the process, but the side effects remained a mystery. It wasn't until later that he had actually fought in the arena, that he learned of it.
The shadow magic brought upon him manifested in his darkest and most primal negative emotions. Doubt, anger, and most importantly, fear. He brings these emotions, mixes them into his magical wavelength, and his magic is born. Made into various weapons, it takes the emotions, then spits it out. But once the spell is done, the emotions become twice as strong, and reflect back into Natsu, leaving him to the point of insanity.
The exchange of this power was in an odd way. Natsu, standing before a dark pit. Nyx came sauntering up to him, his form glimmering and changing. Once a lithe and dark leopard, now changing into.... He changed into an otter. With deep golden eyes, to match his soul, stared at him with a gazing curiosity. He practically melted and shook under that gaze. "N-Nathaniel?" He asked.
The otter nodded and smiled. Tears leaked from Natsu's eyes, crying for the first time in thirty six years. Which was when Nathaniel died. The fake otter reached out and stroked Natsu's nose. Natsu gasped and shakily touched the forearm of his mate.
Nyx smiled and pulled in for a kiss. Natsu gasped and complied. Nyx smiled as the wolf fell to his knees, his mind being clouded into an inky darkness he knows now.
