Gold Lightning

wake up from my slumber. Stretching, I realize that today is the big day. I have grown from puppyhood to wolfhood, and I am old enough to go and establish my own pack if I want to. I have the option to stay with the pack, and establish a family, but I chose to establish a new pack, and I am old enough to do that now. As I walk outside, I look around at the valley, taking in the sunrise, the smells and sights. It makes me a little sad to leave my birthpack, but I'm excited to find a mate, and go establish my own pack, where I will be the alpha, instead of a subordinate. I go to what will be my last hunt with my old friends.
