When the sun sets it's time for the wolves to play...

The day was ending, the work over with, fires banked for the night as full stomachs rumbled in appreciation for the filling meal that had been served. The crisp of the night's air ignored by two of those in the camp, with only the third really feeling it, one not so blessed to bear a coat of fine fur to ward off the chill. But that was fine, better than fine even, as it allowed for far more pleasant activities. During the day the trio was one of equals, hunters and trackers all, each working with the others to bring down their prey. But once night fell and the camp was silent...

Then it was time for the wolves to play.

**

Gentle rustle of fur over skin, bringing goose bumps to exposed flesh. The soft smell of sweat and musk, light yet recognizable to all fills the small tent, comforting the man, reminding him of the safety and security the other two brought. A soft growl followed by a gentle nip at the neck drew a gasp and shiver, one of anything but fear, though followed by an annoyed chuff from the other and a gentle lick along the side of his neck, as one wolf reminded the other that they were supposed to be relaxing.

Even with the reminder a soft growl of 'Ours' was whispered near the rounded ear of the man, bringing with it a mixed rush of excitement and relaxation, a murmur of 'Yours' in response, affirming the man's place with the other two.

A gentle grip and roll had wolf and man laying on their sides, the man's face buried in the thick chest-fur of the wolf before him. Before he can speak he feels the other lay down on his other side, sandwiching him between the two strong forms as clawed hands gently run across his body, his own hands busy softly caressing the wolf before him. An unknown amount of time passes before he turns, facing the other to give them similar treatment, the two wolves quietly murring in contentment at the treatment even as the man softly does the same with his voice.

Paw, fur, tongue, the soft tang of sweat and wolf... how long he was surrounded by the sensations he couldn't say, though gradually they slowed, the trio tired after a long and successful day hunting. Gradually paws still, breathing slows as the trio shifts from their nightly ritual of closeness to one of rest, preparation for the next day. Eventually the man finds himself resting against the side of one of the wolves, arm draped across a furred chest as his head rests against it, breathing in the relaxing familiar scent. The other wolf snuggles behind him, likewise draping an arm over the other wolf, pulling their body close to the two before them and ensuring that the man would be warm throughout the night without need for blankets or furs.

In the morning the trio would be up and active again, searching for prey to bring back to the pack, but for now... for now the man slept soundly, comfortable between the wolves that he had partnered with so many years before, safe in their embrace.
