My Secret Colors
something I whipped up this morning. I'm aware that it's not the best, but here you go. Enjoy :)
I'm caged, yet free to roam the world
I hide my colors underneath a cold shade of grey
No one knows
It's hard to blend in when you're me
It hates us
The monster with a million heads
Book in one hand and our colors in the other, defaced with a red slash
It's everywhere, watching, hating
Wishing we would be gone
However, the monster must be very blind
Committing crimes just out of hate
Hurting us
We're people too
We walk like the monster and live our everyday lives like it
We have struggles too
Some that it would never understand
All it wants is for us to be the same as them
All we want is acceptance
Who doesn't?
Luckily, the Bald Eagle has taken steps for us
Forward
It's what most have been excited about
With the mighty gavel of the Court, the Eagle stabbed the monster
It screams
Now our colors our spreading faster than before
