Micro May Day 7: Turned Around
This story's prompt was: Size tiering at a gym. A micro is in for a rude awakening.
I get ready to start my workout. This was the only gym in the area that had equipment my size, but It was a multi-size gym. There were no micro gyms in the area without needing to take a plane trip. It would have to do, but I always did worry about someone coming over.
"Hey, shrimp. Still pretending to do something useful with your time?" I turn to the voice and see foot paws I'm all too used to seeing. It was George, a kangaroo, that was also a bully. Micros had a wide range of sizes. Him being on the bigger end of the scale and me being smaller made me a perfect target.
"I don't want any trouble; I just want to work out in peace." I replied tiredly. I've done this song and dance and hoped he would leave me alone.
"Aww, I'm hurt. You don't want to spend some time with your good pal, shrimp?" He walks over and spreads his feet on both sides of me. He picks up some of the barbells I was using with two fingers. "You aren't going to get anywhere using these toys." He flicks it away like it was nothing. Even if he didn't have the build of a powerlifter, I doubt he would have had trouble.
"Fine, I'll just come back later if being here offends you so much." I start to walk away, but he pins me with his foot.
"I don't remember saying you could leave, shrimp. Don't forget, you are in my gym now." George loved being the biggest fish in a small pond. It was the next best thing to not being a micro for him. He tended to envy those that weren't saying how it was his rightful place to lord over smaller people like me. "You still aren't giving me the respect I deserve."
I noticed someone walking him behind him as he talked. It wasn't another micro. He doesn't notice while he is lost in his little game. "I'll make-" He gets cut off as he is held in two fingers by a giant shark trainer.
"Is there a problem here, gentlemen? It seemed like you weren't being respectful to your follow micros again, George."
"He started it!" George says, as he tries to break free from his grip, but just dangles uselessly.
"I think I heard this story before. Something about them being on your turf? You don't own the gym or the faculties. So you should remember that and play nice, or I'll have you kicked out and banned, understood?"
George fails around a bit more before he deflates. "Fine."
"Good, I'll be keeping a close eye on you two." He nods to me, and I get up to keep going. Still a little stunned because most of the time people just let it happen or don't seem to notice. I sigh out, hoping this is the start of a turnaround of my time here.
