Early Morning, Alenia flew to Sasha’s cave.

“Sasha, wake up! I’m here for James!” She yelled at the cave entrance.

Alenia heard no response. So Alenia went into the cave. Alenia found Sasha lying deeper into her cave sleeping and saw a bulge in Sasha’s neck. Alenia pushes gently on Sasha’s shoulder waking her up. Sasha stood up and in a panic, raised her tail ready to strike the Alenia with the mace like end of her tail.

“Sasha! Easy! It’s just me!” Alenia exclaimed.

Alenia? Wha What are you doing here”, Sasha asked.

I need James. We need to do an early start on training. He needs rifle qualification as well as learn binding magic”, Alenia said.

Ok Alenia, just give me a minute”, Sasha said.

Alenia exited the cave and Sasha began to regurgitate her human quickly, waking him up almost immediately. She eased him out of her mouth.

“What was the rush?” James asked.

“Alenia, she’s here to take you to training. You need to get dressed”, Sasha said.

“No time to wash myself?”, James replied.

“Nope, no time at all. Get dressed James”, Sasha said.

James went to put on his clothes.

“Come on human, we must go!” Alenia yelled at the enterance of the cave.

“I’m getting dressed, then grabbing some food for the flight there!” James yelled back.

“Alenia saw you in my throat”, Sasha said.

“Don’t worry, Gillian already knew from the day before yesterday. He said I smell of you and smell of your... Breath... I’d imagine she already knows too. They wouldn’t gossip about it.

Around here, that kind of information getting out is a real safety issue for me. They wouldn’t jeopardize my safety”, James said as he finished making his breakfast. He picked up his sandwich. And walked up to Sasha.

“Love you”, James said as he gave Sasha a kiss.

“Love you too James and be safe”, Sasha said.

“Will do, see you in the evening”, James said as he ran towards the cave enterance and ran up to Alenia.

“Human, you’re soaked”, Alenia said softly.

“Do you really want me to tell you all about about it, or are we going to train?” James asked in a slightly frustrated tone.

“Hey you have a fetish of being prey and now you have to train soaked. I’ve see you frustrated washing yourself, I’ve now seen you go to training frustrated by being soaked while going to training. But not once have you gotten frustrated with Sasha for making you prey. Come on human, I’m not a fool. I know your trick of hiding a truth with a different truth. Nice try, I’ll give you that. However, it takes more than that to fool me”, Alenia said as she was flying James to the forest glade to train.

“Shit”, James said silently...

“Don’t worry I am not going to tell anyone who’d say anything... This gives me plenty reason to give you shit however”, Alenia said playfully as she began to land.

“Just don’t go too far or I’ll tell Sasha”, James said.

“Ha! Go ahead, squeak to her like a good little chew toy”, Alenia said as she let James her off her shoulder.

“Here is your rifle, ammunition, and magazines.

Same thing you did with the revolver you chose, targets are simply further away, line is hot. You should know what to do”, Alenia said.

“What? Alestir, this is madness! Sasha Exclaimed as she was shown a grievance letter delivered to the clan leaders.

“I agree Sasha, and it’s important to know James could eventually be a walking target.

I’m sure many others are not a fan of you and James mating either”, Alestir said.

“No, Kalaix is mad because I rejected him and I’ve rejected many others. I’ve wanted James ever sense I knew he became a man”, Sasha said.

“Sasha, James knew drows too when he’d astral travel. This definitely raises questions and other clan leaders could possibly believe James is a spy for them”, Alestir said.

“A spy! No Alestir, need I remind you that I’m the one who’d project myself in James’s consciousness when he was a boy! I waited for him to grow up and become a man! I took a portal to the surface world, watched and waited for two weeks at his favorite spot in the woods! I’m the one who brought him here, in fact for years he never even thought of me till he came here and recalled old memories of me. He has never even had any knowledge of the clan! Alestir! How can he be a spy when he knew nothing of the clan? Weather he was once friends with some drows or not, that should not mater! Sasha yelled in anger.

“To me, this doesn’t matter Sasha. I know this is alarming that clan members are already beginning to stir trouble. But there is a process and we must propose all grievances to all the clan leaders regardless what the grievance is. All you need to do is tell your story of how you knew James just as you told me. I did the same thing you did to get my human mate here, so I already know. As far as James not being a spy, that is something I know as well. I know he is not a spy. However, you and James will have to testify to all the leaders. Let the truth come out and clear James’s name of all accusations. This will resolve that”, Alestir said in a calm voice trying to deescalate Sasha’s frustrations.

“Ok Alestir, I trust you. I really do. I just hope you’re right. And I hope Kalaix doesn’t start spreading lies and rumors to cause public panic”, Sasha said.

“Well, that threat is real. And if that happens, yes James is a walking target. But for now, go summon James. Let’s make this process as speedy as possible, get his name cleared, and let the leaders see the issue. They are all honorable and fair. You can trust them”, Alestir said.

“James is currently training with Alenia”, Sasha said.

“It’ll have to wait. His life could be in danger in the near future. Even when his training is complete, he cannot start his duties with these kind of issues. James cannot defend himself against other dragons, Sasha. No, his duties will be on hold till we know no dragon is a threat”, Alestir replied.

“So be it, I’ll go and bring James to the clan leaders to clear this mess. But once it’s cleared, James cannot be left alone at any time”, Sasha said.

“Once James cleared, I’ll convince the clan leaders to put a pause on your duties so you can be with him”, Alestir said.

“Human! Your marksmanship is great with a rifle. Are you sure you’ve never used one?” Alenia asked.

“I never have”, James said

“Well then you’d be a natural, Sasha will have a good partner to back her up in a time where scout duties would be necessary. Congratulations, you’re now in the scout division for military duty. All you’ll need to do is pass the test from the book Gillian have you. Then you’ll be a guardsman as well”, Alenia said.

“Great”, James said...

“It is, I trust you’ll do your job fairly, just, and well. Now I need to teach you defensive magic and binding magic”, Alenia said.

“James! Alenia!”, Sasha said in an alarming tone as she landed.

“Alenia, the clan leaders must talk to James. It’s very important. Some false claims against James’s past came up and we must clarify it now. He also may be in danger. Kalaix, made a grievance against James, Sasha said as she informed James and Alenia.

“Who is Kalaix?” James asked.

Him and other dragons have fought a long time to get me to mate with them. They’re clearly not my type. However, they’re definately trying to convince the clan that dragon and human relationships should be forbidden, and the grievance also says you’re a spy for the drows. The later is the most threatening”, Sasha said.

“A spy? What the fuck!” James exclaimed in absolute shock.

“Sasha, that’s a very serious accusation”, Alenia said.

“I know... I know! However, I know for a fact James is not a spy. James, get on! We must go now!” Sasha exclaimed.

“Go James, I’ll let Gillian know what happened. We both will keep an eye on Kalaix and any others that may be trying to conspire against you. I knew something bad was going to happen between you two”, Alenia said as James got on Sasha’s back.

Sasha flew back to the clan leaders and Alenia went to tell Gillian what has happened.

“Sasha, James... I’m very sorry that this is happening. But you, James have been accused of being a spy for the drows.

James, are you acquainted with any drows? Maybe even as friends or once friends Alestir asked.

“Yes Alestir, back when I was a child. Somewhere between the ages of nine and sixteen years old. So I was friends with several drows for approximately seven surface world years. However, if my math is correct, it’s been fourteen years sense I last had contact with them”, James answered.

“Have you wanted to regain contact with them since you where in the other world?” Alestir said.

“Honestly, if I had the chance to I would want to. But the clan is enemies with drows. An enemy of the clan is my enemy. The drows I was around where children themselves and in other world time, still are children. I’ve matured and they haven’t aged to maturity. Due to this, there would naturally be no common interest. So other than for the sake of meeting again, it wouldn’t be a friendship to maintain because we’d now have no common interest. It’s common for childhood friends to come and go”, James said.

“James, thank you for your honesty. I’m sure the leaders will take careful consideration of this circumstance.

“As a child, did you ever know of the clan”, Alestir asked.

“The clan was never mentioned to me. I never at any point in my life knew of it’s existence until Sasha first spoke of it when I was fishing at the river. That was on the day she brought me to the other world”, James answered.

“Clan leaders, please tell me now if you sense any lie or deceit in James’s Answers. If you sense no deceit, you may stay silent”, Alestir said.

After several minutes that passed by, no opposition from any leader came to James’s Answers.

“The room is silent. James, one dragon can tell when a human is telling a lie quite easily. Six in the room makes it nearly impossible for a human to lie. You’re telling the truth. Thank you for your sincere honesty”, Alestir said.

“I am quite disappointed. So what if James had drow friends as a child in the other world he’d astral travel with? The drows where children themselves! And the only ones besides myself he could call friends! When James was a child, I projected myself into his consciousness during a period of time when his parents beat him till he was bloody. Other children where just as mean to him. Most children would have had their very spirit torn apart when faced under such circumstances. Yet James never allowed it to impact him that way. Now, I... I willingly took him here specifically to mate with him and take him in as my other half... My better half. He’d say the same for me. Now both James and I are heavily offended not just by Kalaix, But by the clan itself. To me, the clan shamed itself in allowing that piece of shit, Kalaix plant suspicion and cloud the clan’s better judgement. Goddamn all of you! Assume my vote to be in James’s favor!”, Sasha screamed in tears and picked up James.

“Sasha, you’re understandably frustrated. But there is a process...”

Fuck you and your process Alestir!” Sasha interrupted while screaming.

“You know better! All of you do!” Sasha screamed at Alestir again and ran with James on her back. She then took flight to her cave.

Alestir held his head down and signed.

“Do we all have a unanimous vote in James’s behalf?” Alestir asked the other four.

One of the dragons said... “I.”

Another said “I.”

“I”, said another.

Finally another dragon said “I.”

Alestir stood there silent and sighed.

“I, the vote is unanimous. Kalaix will be summoned and charges will be pressed for falsified reporting by telling only a half truth, which could have resulted in James’s imprisonment and death”, Alestir said.

Sasha was laying with James. Her ring was on so she could fully embrace him with all four of her legs, her tail, and her wings. She cried very hard as she felt her spirit seemingly broke.

James began to cry too. Not because of what happened today however. He cried as he felt the love of his life in emotional pain.

“I’m going to kill Kalaix... Whoever he is...

Fuck with me, I let karma deal with them. Fuck with Sasha, I am karma. Whoever this Kalaix is, I swear to the gods ... I’ll cut his heart out and l will cut his head off and mount it on a spear”. James thought to himself as he felt his anger turn to blind rage for the first time in his life.

James began to comfort Sasha as he rubbed her neck gently.

Sasha began licking James on the neck as she continued to cry.

“Sasha, today was a terrible day, just try to get some sleep. Let’s hope for a better day in the morning ok?” James said as Sasha then laid her head on James’s chest.

“It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Kalaix did this to weaponize the clan leader’s system against you. And me”... Sasha said as she cried.

“Or as a psychological tactic... Maybe as a possible distraction from something worse to come”, James said...

“What do you mean?” Sasha said...

“Alenia warned me that my relationship with you will cause enemies. She said enemies, that’s plural... There’s more to this than just Kalaix. I think he is nothing but a scapegoat if they failed to get there grievance passed”, James said as he closed his eyes.

Sasha laid her head on James’s chest in deep thought, worried about James’s conspiracy theory. Eventually James fell asleep, But Sasha could not find enough peace in her mind to close her eyes as she laid her head on James’s chest.

Clan Guard! Gillian yelled sense that’s the only two words he knew in English. As he busted open the doorway of Kalaix’s cave enterance. He and Alenia searches the cave with a warrant for his arrest, they split up and searched the rooms within the cave.

Alenia exclaimed a word in Gaelic. Moments latter, Gillian said the same. Gillian concluded Kalaix was not home and Gillian flew out of the cave. Alenia stood behind, looking for evidence of any sort that connects Kalaix’s motives to get rid of James. Once no evidence was found, she too took flight in search for Kalaix.

“Kalaix, you’re wanted! There’s a warrant for your arrest!” Helliz exclaimed.

“What? For what charges!” Kalaix asked.

“You can hide and stay at my cave for now till we sort this out. You’re wanted under a falsified report”, Helliz said.

“I’ve never heard of such a law! That was a grievance letter”, Kalaix said.

“I’ve never heard such a law either. However, Because of this, it really backfired”, Helliz said.

“Damn it, and thanks for the offer, but it is best to turn myself in”, Kalaix said.

“How? Why?” Helliz said.

“It looks better in trial before the clan leaders. It will also lower suspicions of me wishing harm on James”, Kalaix said.

“You’ll face jail time for sure”, Helliz replied.

“Better than facing any other charges they may have possibly pressed against me. Remember the alternative plan. Kill James when he bathes. That’s when he is alone while Sasha is out hunting. Be sure to swallow him whole. No blood, no evidence... Keep it clean, now I must turn myself in to do damage control”, Kalaix said.
